확신이 중요합니다
Conviction Is Important
“이는 우리 복음이 너희에게 말로만 이른 것이 아니라 또한 능력과 성령과 큰 확신으로 된 것임이라 우리가 너희 가운데서 너희를 위하여 어떤 사람이 된 것은 너희가 아는 바와 같으니라”(살전 1:5)
1989년도에 우리 예배에 몇 달 참석한 한 젊은 여성이 “크리스 목사님께서 어떤 메시지를 전하셨습니까?”라는 질문을 받았습니다. 그녀의 대답은 깊이 있고 통찰력이 있었습니다. 그녀는 “신성한 생명이요.”라고 답했습니다. 그녀는 옳은 답변을 했습니다.
그녀는 복음에 대한 제 확신을 여러 번 본 이후에 대답했습니다. 수십 년이 지난 지금도 메시지는 여전히 동일합니다. 이 메시지는 제가 살고 가르친 메시지이며, 제 삶의 모든 분야에 스며든 실재입니다.
어떻게 제가 이런 삶을 살게 되었습니까? 제가 예수 그리스도를 믿기 때문입니다. 당신이 예수 그리스도를 믿는다면 온 마음을 다해 믿어야 합니다. 그분과 하나가 되어야 합니다. 그분의 진리는 우리에게 논쟁을 위해 주어지지 않았습니다. 그분의 진리는 우리에게 유일한 진리로 받아들여지기 위해 주어졌습니다.
주 예수님께서는 요한복음 14:6에서 “내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니”라고 선포하셨습니다. 그분은 분명하게 “나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 자가 없느니라”고 말씀하시며 인간의 속량자, 중보자, 구원자로서의 그분의 독점적인 위치를 말씀하셨습니다.
바울은 디모데전서 2:5-6에서 동일한 진리를 반복해서 말했습니다. “하나님은 한 분이시요 또 하나님과 사람 사이에 중보자도 한 분이시니 곧 사람이신 그리스도 예수라 그가 모든 사람을 위하여 자기를 대속물로 주셨으니 기약이 이르러 주신 증거니라” 예수님은 진리이십니다. 당신이 하나님에 대해 그리고 하나님으로부터 알게 될 모든 것은 예수님 안에 있습니다. 예수님은 모든 지혜와 지식의 화신이십니다.
골로새서 2:3은 말합니다. “그 안에는 지혜와 지식의 모든 보화가 감추어져 있느니라” 그분은 신성의 총체이시며 화신이십니다. 골로새서 1:19은 말합니다. “모든 신성한 충만(신성한 완전함, 능력, 특성의 총합)이 그분 안에 영원히 거하게 됨을 [아버지께서] 기뻐하셨음이라”(확대번역본)
이 말씀이 당신에게 실재가 되어야 합니다. 당신에게 진리가 되어야 합니다. 당신의 복음, 개인적인 메시지가 되어야 합니다. 당신이 이를 부정하거나 외면하느니 차라리 죽음을 택할 정도로 당신의 절대적인 확신이 되어야 합니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 예수 그리스도 안에서 구현된 말씀의 흔들리지 않는 진리에 감사드립니다. 나는 이 진리를 절대적인 확신으로 받아들여 내 삶의 모든 분야에 스며들게 합니다. 나는 믿음 안에 굳게 서 있고 의심이나 논쟁으로 요동하지 않습니다. 나는 범사에 하나님의 진리가 나의 등불임을 선포합니다. 나는 예수님이 길이요 진리요 생명이심을 알고 완전한 확신으로 담대히 복음을 전합니다. 아멘.

CONVICTION IS IMPORTANT
“For our [preaching of the] glad tidings (the Gospel) came to you not only in word, but also in [its own inherent] power and in the Holy Spirit and with great conviction and absolute certainty [on our part]. You know what kind of men we proved [ourselves] to be among you for your good” (1 Thessalonians 1:5 AMPC).
In 1989, a young lady who had attended our services for only a few months was asked, “What’s the message of Pastor Chris?” Her response was profound and insightful. She said, “The divine life.” And she was right.
She gave the response having severally witnessed my conviction of the Gospel. It’s been decades, yet the message has remained the same. It’s a message I’ve lived and taught, a reality that has permeated every aspect of my life!
How did I come about this? Well, it’s because I believe in Jesus Christ. When you believe in Jesus Christ, you should believe with all your heart. There has to be oneness with Him. His truth is not given to us to debate; His truth is given to us to accept as the only truth.
In John 14:6, the Lord Jesus Himself declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” He left no room for doubt, debate or speculation. He unequivocally stated, “No man comes to the Father but by me,” affirming His exclusivity as man’s Kinsman-redeemer, Mediator and Saviour.
Paul reiterated the same truth in 1 Timothy 2:5-6: “For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom, for all to be testified in due time.” Jesus is the truth. Everything you’ll ever know about God and from God is in Jesus. He’s the embodiment of all wisdom and knowledge.
Colossians 2:3 says, “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” He’s the embodiment, the totality of divinity. Colossians 1:19 AMPC says, “For it has pleased [the Father] that all the divine fullness (the sum total of the divine perfection, powers, and attributes) should dwell in Him permanently.”
This has to become real to you. It has to become your truth; it has to become your gospel, your personal message. It has to become your absolute conviction; something for which you’d rather die than deny or turn away from.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the unwavering truth of your Word, embodied in Jesus Christ. I embrace this truth with absolute conviction, allowing it to permeate every aspect of my life. I stand firm in faith, unshaken by doubt or debate, and I declare that your truth is my guiding light in all things. I boldly proclaim the Gospel with absolute certainty, knowing that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Amen.
