하나님을 향한 당신의 사랑을 지키십시오
Protect Your Love For Him
“소망이 우리를 부끄럽게 하지 아니함은 우리에게 주신 성령으로 말미암아 하나님의 사랑이 우리 마음에 부은 바 됨이니”(롬 5:5)
주님께서는 요한계시록 2:25에서 우리에게 시사하는 바가 큰 말씀을 하십니다. “다만 너희에게 있는 것을 내가 올 때까지 굳게 잡으라” 우리는 오늘의 본문 구절을 통해 하나님의 사랑이 당신의 마음에 부어졌다는 내용을 읽었습니다. 따라서 이는 하나님을 향한 당신의 사랑을 지켜야 한다는 뜻입니다. 당신이 그 사랑을 잃을 수 있기 때문입니다.
이는 주님께서 왜 우리에게 부지런히 마음을 지키라고 말씀하시는지 이해하는 데 도움을 줍니다. 그분의 사랑이 당신의 심령 안에 있기 때문입니다. 만일 주님께 받은 것을 잃어버릴 가능성이 없었다면, 주님께서는 당신에게 지키라고 말씀하지 않으셨을 것입니다. 예를 들어, 사람들은 치유를 받고 나서 시간이 흐르고 나면 부주의, 죄, 혹은 불신앙으로 인해 치유를 잃기도 합니다.
그리스도인으로서 당신이 말씀 안에 거하는 것이 중요합니다. “너희가 나를 사랑하면 나의 계명을 지키리라”(요 14:15)는 주님의 말씀을 기억하십시오. 그분의 말씀을 지킴으로써 당신은 주님에 대한 사랑을 나타냅니다. 당신에게는 매일 말씀대로 살고, 믿음을 지키고, 예수님이 누구시며 그분이 당신에게 어떤 의미인지에 대한 고백을 유지할 기회가 주어집니다.
그 무엇도 당신이 주님을 바라보는 것을 방해하지 못하게 하십시오. 주님이 진정으로 중요한 전부이십니다. 주님을 향한 당신의 사랑과 복음에 대한 열정을 지키십시오. 아직 주님을 알지 못하는 당신의 주변 사람들에게 그분의 사랑을 계속 전파하십시오. 그들이 구원받을 때까지 계속 그들을 위해 중보하십시오.
그 무엇도 당신이 하나님의 집에서 섬기는 일을 방해하지 못하게 하십시오. 모욕, 악의, 억울함에 어떤 자리도 내어주지 마십시오. 히브리서 12:15은 말합니다. “너희는 하나님의 은혜에 이르지 못하는 자가 없도록 하고 또 쓴 뿌리가 나서 괴롭게 하여 많은 사람이 이로 말미암아 더럽게 되지 않게 하며”
주님을 사랑하고, 다른 사람들을 그리스도께로 인도하고, 잘 지내다가 누군가가 자신을 화나게 했다고 갑자기 냉담해지며 교회마저 가지 않는 그리스도인들이 있습니다. 그러지 마십시오! 어떤 것도 당신의 불을 끄지 못하게 하십시오. 골로새서 3:23-24은 말합니다. “무슨 일을 하든지 마음을 다하여 주께 하듯 하고 사람에게 하듯 하지 말라 이는 기업의 상을 주께 받을 줄 아나니 너희는 주 그리스도를 섬기느니라”
만물의 마지막이 가까워지고 있습니다. 주님을 향한 당신의 열정을 유지하며 의의 열매를 맺으십시오. 그 끝에 당신을 기다리고 있는 영광의 면류관이 있습니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 성령으로 말미암아 우리 마음에 아낌없이 부어주신 무한한 사랑에 감사드립니다. 나는 이 사랑을 부지런히 지키고, 하나님과 하나님의 말씀에 초점을 맞추겠습니다. 나는 당신을 섬기는 일에 성실하며, 모든 방해와 공격을 피합니다. 나는 분노, 악의, 억울함에 자리를 내어주지 않고 사랑 안에서 행합니다. 나는 모든 사람에게 주님의 사랑과 복음을 전합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

PROTECT YOUR LOVE FOR HIM
“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Romans 5:5).
In Revelation 2:25, the Lord tells us something quite thought-provoking. He says, “But that which ye have already, hold fast till I come.” We just read in our opening scripture that His love has been shed abroad in your heart. That means you have to protect your love for Him, because you could lose it.
It helps to understand why He tells us to guard our hearts with all diligence, because His love is in your heart. The Lord won’t ask you to protect what you’ve received from Him if there isn’t the possibility of losing it. For example, people receive healing and after some time, maybe due to carelessness, sin or unbelief, they lose the healing.
As a Christian, it’s important you stay in the Word. Remember the words of the Master, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). By keeping His Word, you demonstrate your love for the Lord. Every day presents opportunities for you to live out the Word, keep the faith, and maintain your confession of who Jesus is and all He means to you.
Nothing should ever make you take your gaze off the Master. He’s all that truly matters. Protect your love for Him, and your passion for the Gospel. Keep preaching His love to those around you who haven’t yet known Him. Keep interceding for them until they receive salvation.
Let nothing stand in the way of your service in the house of God. Give no room for offence, malice or bitterness. Hebrews 12:15 says, “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.”
There’s been some Christians who were doing so well, loving the Lord and leading others to Christ, but suddenly became cold and even stopped going to Church because someone offended them. No! Let nothing quench your fire. Colossians 3:23-24 says, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
The end of all things is near. Maintain your passion for the Lord and keep producing fruits of righteousness; there’s a crown of glory waiting for you at the end.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the boundless love you have lavishly poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. I guard this love diligently, keeping my focus on you and your Word. I remain steadfast in my service to you, avoiding all distractions and offences; I give no room for anger, malice or bitterness, but I walk in love; I spread your love and the Gospel to all, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
