He Was Judged For All Men

“그러므로 이제 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 자에게는 결코 정죄함이 없나니”(롬8:1)

오늘의 본문 구절에서 “정죄”로 번역된 단어는 심판을 의미하기도 합니다. 비록 일부 사람들은 그렇게 생각하지 않지만, 심판은 하나님의 계획의 한 부분입니다. 성경은 인간에 대한 두 가지 중요한 심판을 명확히 보여줍니다. 첫번째 심판은 주 예수님께서 십자가에서 인류의 죄를 위해 심판 받으셨을 때 일어났습니다. 두번째 심판은 심판의 날에 백 보좌 앞에서 있을 것입니다.

많은 사람들은 두번째 심판이 더 친숙합니다. 로마서 8:1에 따르면 사람은 두번째 심판을 받을 필요가 없습니다. 예수님께서 갈보리 십자가에서 자신을 위해 심판 받았다는 진리를 받아들임으로 하나님의 의를 받을 수 있기 때문입니다. 예수님은 우리 죄를 위한 희생제물이 되셨고, 그분의 죽음으로 값을 치르셨습니다.

로마서 3:24-26은 우리가 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 속량으로 말미암아 하나님의 은혜로 값없이 의롭게 되었다고 말합니다. “이 예수를 하나님이 그의 피로써 믿음으로 말미암는 화목제물로 세우셨으니 이는 하나님께서 길이 참으시는 중에 전에 지은 죄를 간과하심으로 자기의 의로우심을 나타내려 하심이니 곧 이 때에 자기의 의로우심을 나타내사 자기도 의로우시며 또한 예수 믿는 자를 의롭다 하려 하심이라”(롬3:25-26) 하나님을 송축합니다!

예수님이 무덤에 머물러 있지 않으심에 대해 하나님께 감사드립니다. 예수님은 사흘이 되는 날 부활하셨습니다! 오늘날 예수님을 믿는 사람은 누구든지 모든 죄에서 의롭게 되고 심판과 상관없는 자가 됩니다. 할렐루야! 예수님께서 우리를 위해 성취하신 것은 죄 사함 그 이상입니다. 그분은 우리를 새로운 생명으로 인도하셨습니다. 이제 우리는 새로운 본성을 가지고 있습니다. 할렐루야!

바로 이것이 복음입니다. “한 사람의 범죄로 말미암아 사망이 그 한 사람을 통하여 왕 노릇 하였은즉 더욱 은혜와 의의 선물을 넘치게 받는 자들은 한 분 예수 그리스도를 통하여 생명 안에서 왕 노릇 하리로다”(롬5:17) 따라서, 모든 사람은 긍휼하심을 받기 위해 은혜의 보좌 앞에 담대히 나갈 수 있습니다(히4:16). 그러나 머지 않아 그 은혜의 보좌는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 구원을 거절한 사람들에게 심판의 보좌가 될 것입니다. 그것이 하나님께서 세상에 우리를 보내셔서 그들의 구원을 위한 값이 지불되었음을 전파하게 하신 이유입니다. 예수님이 그들을 대신하여 심판 받으셨습니다.

기도

의로우신 아버지, 예수님께서 세상 죄를 위한 희생제물이 되시고 그분의 죽음으로 죄에 대한 값을 완전히 다 지불하셨다는 것을 알게 되어 어찌나 기쁜지요! 이제 나는 예수님께서 나를 위해 십자가에서 심판을 받으셨다는 진리를 받아들임으로 당신의 의를 받았습니다. 나는 하나님의 사랑의 아들의 왕국에 속했고 그 안에 살기 때문에 이 어둠의 세상에 있는 멸망이나 심판으로부터 멀리 떨어져 있습니다. 아멘.

He Was Judged For All Men

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus…”(Romans 8:1).

The word translated “condemnation” in the verse above also means judgment. Judgment is a part and parcel of God’s programme even though some folks don’t think so. The Bible clearly reveals two main judgments for man. The first one took place when the Lord Jesus was judged for the sins of mankind on the Cross. The second will take place on the Judgment Day, before the Great White Throne.

Most are more familiar with the latter. According to Romans 8:1, man doesn’t have to face the second judgment. He can obtain God’s righteousness by accepting the truth that Jesus was judged for him on the Cross of Calvary. Jesus became the sacrifice for our sin and paid the penalty by His death.

Romans 3:24-26 says we’ve been justified freely by His grace through the redemption that’s in Christ Jesus: “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” Blessed be God!

Thank God Jesus didn’t remain in the grave; He resurrected on the third day! Today, anyone who believes in Him is justified from every sin—severed from judgement. Hallelujah! What He accomplished for us is much more than remission of sins. He ushered us into a new life; we now have a new nature. Hallelujah!

This is the Gospel: “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17). Now, every man can boldly come before the throne of grace to obtain mercy (Hebrews 4:16). But someday, not too far away, that throne of grace will become the throne of judgment for those who rejected the salvation in Christ Jesus. That’s why He sent us to tell the world that the price has been paid for their salvation. Jesus was judged on their behalf.

PRAYER

Righteous Father, what joy it is to know that Jesus became the sacrifice for the sins of the world and paid the penalty by His death, in full! Now, I have obtained your righteousness by accepting the truth that Jesus was judged for me on the cross. I’m far removed from the destruction or judgement that works in this present world of darkness, because I belong and live in the Kingdom of God’s dear Son. Amen.
