Songs Of The Spirit
“시와 찬송과 신령한 노래들로 서로 화답하며 너희의 마음으로 주께 노래하며 찬송하며”(엡5:19)
위의 구절에서 “신령한 노래들”은 영의 노래들을 의미합니다. 사도 바울은 고린도전서 14:14-15에서 방언으로 노래하는 것에 대해 말할 때 동일한 내용을 언급했습니다. “내가 알지 못하는 언어로 기도하면 나의 영이 기도하거니와 나의 이해하는 것은 열매를 맺지 못하느니라. 그러면 어찌하리요? 내가 영과 함께 기도하고 또 이해하면서 기도하며 내가 영과 함께 노래하고 또 이해하면서 노래하리라”(고전14:14-15 한글킹제임스).
영으로 노래하는 것은 다른 방언으로 노래하는 것입니다 이 노래는 당신의 이해에서 나오는 것이 아니라 당신의 영으로부터 나옵니다. 이는 방언으로 기도하기 위해 혀를 성령님께 맡기는 것과 비슷합니다. 다른 점은 당신이 다른 방언으로 노래하며 주께 경배 드리고 있다는 점입니다.
예수님은 말씀하셨습니다. “하나님은 영이시니 예배하는 자가 영과 진리로 예배할지니라”(요 4:24). 영으로 경배하는 것이 가장 최고 수준의 경배입니다. 당신은 자신의 이해 안에서 주님을 노래하고 경배하고 있을 수 있습니다. 그것도 좋습니다. 그러나 더 높은 것을 추구하십시오. 당신의 영에서 흘러나오는 영의 노래를 부르십시오! 당신의 영으로 경배하고 교제하십시오. 이것이 더 깊은 교제입니다.
당신의 영의 노래는 주님께 드리는 경배와 찬양의 노래입니다. 당신 옆에 있는 사람들은 그 음정과 화음을 별로 좋아하지 않을 수도 있지만 상관없습니다. 당신은 사람들에게 노래를 부르는 것이 아닙니다. 당신은 주님께 노래하고 있습니다! 당신은 주님께 경배의 선율을 만들어 드립니다. 마치 방언으로 기도하는 것이 사람들이 아닌 하나님께 하는 것과 같은 원리입니다(고전14:2).
영으로 경배하는 것은 신성한 교환을 가져옵니다. 당신의 영이 하나님께 영 안에서 말을 전할 때, 성령님은 당신의 영 안에 정보를 넣어 주십니다. 이러한 예배와 교제를 마치고 나면 당신은 성령으로 충만하고 권세의 위치에 서게 됩니다. 이 때 당신을 움직일 수 있는 것은 아무것도 없습니다. 당신은 자신의 승리를 그 어느 때보다 강하게 확신합니다. 당신의 영이 통치권을 가지고 있습니다!
기독교는 안에 있는 것을 밖으로 나타내는 영적인 삶입니다. 그러므로 영 안에서, 당신의 영으로, 그리고 성령으로 주님께 경배 드리는 법을 배우십시오. “영으로 하나님께 경배하고 그리스도 예수님을 기뻐하며 육체를 신뢰하지 아니하는 우리가 곧 할례자니라.”(빌3:3 한글킹제임스).

복되신 주님, 주의 영광이 땅에 충만하고 당신의 의가 모든 나라 위에 있습니다! 영광과 위엄이 당신 앞에 있습니다. 강건함과 영광이 당신의 처소에 있습니다. 당신은 내 삶을 아름답게 하십니다. 당신은 내가 당신의 사랑과 자비와 은혜를 선포하도록 나에게 기름을 부으셨습니다. 나는 영원히 당신의 사랑과 신실하심을 노래할 것입니다. 주의 이름을 영원히 송축합니다.

Songs Of The Spirit
“Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord”(Ephesians 5:19).
The phrase “spiritual songs” in the verse above means songs of the spirit. The Apostle Paul referenced the same in 1 Corinthians 14:14-15 when he talked about singing in tongues—singing in the spirit: “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also” (1 Corinthians 14:14-15).
Singing with the spirit is singing in other tongues. These songs come out of your spirit, not from your understanding. It’s similar to the way you yield your tongue to the Holy Spirt to pray in tongues, only that this time, you’re singing in other tongues and worshipping the Lord.
Jesus said, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). Worshipping in the spirit is the climax. You may sing and worship the Lord in your understanding, and that’s okay, but ascend higher; sing songs of the Spirit, from your spirit! Worship and relate from your spirit; it’s a deeper fellowship.
Your songs of the spirit are songs of worship and praise to the Lord. Those listening to you may not like the tune or harmony; but it makes no difference. You’re not singing to them; you’re singing to the Lord! You’re making melodies of worship to the Lord, just as praying in tongues isn’t unto men but unto God (1 Corinthians 14:2).
Worshipping in the spirit brings about a divine exchange; as your spirit passes words in the spirit to God, the Holy Spirit imparts information to your spirit. When you’re through with such sessions of worship and fellowship, you’re full of the Spirit, and are in dominion. At that point, nothing moves you. You’re more than certain of your victory. Your spirit has the dominion!
Christianity is a life of the spirit, lived from the inside out. Therefore, learn to worship the Lord in the spirit, with your spirit, and by the Holy Spirit: “For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh” (Philippians 3:3).
PRAYER
Blessed Lord, your glory fills the earth, and your righteousness is upon the nations! Splendour and majesty are before you; strength and glory are in your dwelling place. You’ve beautified my life and anointed me to proclaim your love, mercies and grace; I’ll sing of your love forever, and of your faithfulness that’s ever sure. Blessed be your Name forever.
