열렬히 중보기도하십시오
Labouring In Intercession
“그리스도 예수의 종인 너희에게서 온 에바브라가 너희에게 문안하느니라 그가 항상 너희를 위하여 애써 기도하여 너희로 하나님의 모든 뜻 가운데서 완전하고 확신 있게 서기를 구하나니”(골 4:12)
어떤 그리스도인들은 다른 사람들을 위해 중보기도하는 일에 헌신합니다. 그들은 그 일이 자신의 일이라는 것을 알고 있습니다. 하나님은 그런 사람들을 필요로 하시기 때문에 우리 모두 그래야 합니다. 어쩌면 당신이 오늘날 말씀을 공부할 수 있는 이유도 그런 사람들의 헌신 덕분일 수 있습니다. 또한 당신이 하나님의 일들 안에서 성장하고 믿음 안에 서 있을 수 있는 이유도 그들의 헌신 덕분일 수 있습니다.
당신은 모를 수도 있지만 많은 사람들이 누군가가 그들을 위해 열렬히 중보기도했기 때문에 그리스도인이 되었습니다. 성경은 혼자 있는 자에게 화가 있다고 말합니다. 그가 넘어지면 일으켜줄 사람이 없기 때문입니다(전 4:10). 우리가 기도를 통해 다른 사람들을 도와주고 세워주는 것은 중요합니다.
“기도의 전사”가 된다는 것이 “기도를 모으는 사람”이라는 의미는 아닙니다. 기도하도록 하는 일은 지역교회가 그 책임을 맡습니다. 다른 사람들을 위해 기도하도록 교회를 훈련시키는 것은 사역자의 책임입니다.
에바브라와 같이 사도 바울 주변에 있던 사람들은 이 메시지를 이해했습니다. 오늘의 본문 구절에서 읽듯이 에바브라는 교회 즉 골로새에 있는 하나님의 자녀들이 성숙해지도록 중보기도를 했습니다. 얼마나 감동적인 일입니까!
중보기도의 사역을 맡는다면 당신은 왕국의 일꾼으로서 하나님과 함께 일하는 것입니다. 다른 사람들의 삶을 발전시키고 그들의 삶에 영향을 미치기 위해 그분과 함께 일하는 것입니다. 할렐루야! 예수님은 “이에 제자들에게 이르시되 추수할 것은 많되 일꾼이 적으니”(마 9:37)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그분은 에바브라와 같이 영혼구원을 위해 기도할 일꾼이 필요하십니다.
하나님과 아직 믿지 않는 사람들 사이에 서서 그들이 그리스도께 나아오도록, 동료 그리스도인들이 하나님의 일들에 대해 성숙해지도록, 복음의 사역자들이 그들의 부르심과 운명을 성취하도록 기도하는 자가 되십시오.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 사람을 구원에 이르게 하는 당신의 은혜가 모든 사람에게 임합니다. 그러므로 나는 전 세계의 죄인들이 복음을 받아들이도록 그들의 심령이 열리기를 기도합니다. 나는 사람들의 마음을 붙잡고 있는 사탄의 영향력을 깨뜨려서 그들이 구원을 받을 수 있도록 그리스도의 영광스러운 복음의 광채가 그들을 비추게 합니다. 그리고 나는 전 세계 그리스도인들이 그리스도의 신비를 전하도록 성령의 능력으로 강건해지기를 기도합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

LABOURING IN INTERCESSION
Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God (Colossians 4:12).
S ome Christians are committed to interceding for others; they just know it’s their job to do so. We all should be that way, because God needs such people. It’s possible the reason you’re able to study the Word today like you’re doing right now is the dedication of such people. It could be the reason you’re growing in the things of God and standing in the faith today.
You may not know it, but many are Christians today because of someone else who laboured in intercession, praying fervently, for their lives. The Bible says woe to that man who is alone; when he falls, he has no one to lift him up (Ecclesiastes 4:10). It’s important we support and lift others through prayer.
This doesn’t mean you become “a prayer collector,” enlisting “prayer warriors”; the local Church takes care of that. It’s the Pastor’s responsibility to train the Church to pray for one another.
Those who were around the Apostle Paul, one of whom is Epaphras, understood this message. As

read in our theme verse, Epaphras interceded for the Church, God’s people in Colossi, to come to maturity.
How inspiring!
When you take up the ministry of intercession, you’re siding with God as a labourer in the Kingdom.
You’re working with Him to improve and impact the lives of others. Hallelujah! Jesus said, “The harvest is plenty, but the labourers are few” (Matthew 9:37). He needs those who would labour in prayer like Epaphras for the souls of men. Be that man or woman that He’s found to stand in the gap, to pray for people to come to Christ, to pray for fellow Christians who are yet to come to maturity in the things of God, and also for ministers of the Gospel to fulfill their call and destinies in the Gospel.
PRAYER
Dear Father, your grace that brings salvation has been made available to all men. Therefore, I pray for sinners around the world, that their hearts be open to receive the Gospel. I break Satan’s hold on people’s minds, so that the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ would shine into them for salvation. And I pray that Christians around the world are strengthened with the might of the Spirit to preach the mystery of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
