An Act Of Victory
“모세의 팔이 피곤하매 그들이 돌을 가져다가 모세의 아래에 놓아 그가 그 위에 앉게 하고 아론과 훌이 한 사람은 이쪽에서, 한 사람은 저쪽에서 모세의 손을 붙들어 올렸더니 그 손이 해가 지도록 내려오지 아니한지라 여호수아가 칼날로 아말렉과 그 백성을 쳐서 무찌르니라”(출 17:12-13)
지난 말씀의 실재에서 언급했듯이 주님께 손을 드는 것은 단순한 종교적 행위가 아니라 그분께 드리는 제사입니다. 이것은 사역입니다. 예를 들어, 출애굽기 17:8-31은 이스라엘 백성들이 아말렉 사람들과 싸운 이야기를 들려줍니다.
아말렉 사람들이 르비딤에서 이스라엘을 공격했습니다. 모세는 여호수아에게 아말렉과 싸울 사람들을 뽑으라고 지시했습니다. 그리고 모세는 하나님의 지팡이를 손에 들고 산꼭대기로 올라갔습니다. 전투가 진행되는 동안 모세가 손을 들 때마다 이스라엘 사람들이 이겼지만, 그가 손을 내리면 아말렉 사람들이 우세해졌습니다.
모세와 함께 있던 아론과 훌은 모세가 손을 들 때마다 이스라엘이 유리하고, 손을 내릴 때마다 상대편이 이긴다는 것을 알아차렸습니다. 모세는 그 영향을 몰랐기 때문에 아론과 훌이 모세의 손을 올리는 것이 전투에 어떤 영향을 끼치는지 알려주었습니다.
그 중요성을 인식한 아론과 훌은 모세가 앉을 돌을 준비하고 양쪽에서 모세가 손을 들고 있을 수 있도록 도와주었습니다. 그렇게 함으로써 이스라엘은 아말렉에 승리할 수 있었습니다. 그것이 의미하는 바는 무엇입니까? 손을 얼마나 높이 드는 지에 관한 것이 아닙니다. 손을 드는 행위에 관한 것입니다.
모세가 앉아야 했다는 사실을 기억하십시오. 그가 앉았기 때문에 높이는 낮아졌습니다. 따라서, 손을 얼마나 높이 들었는가는 중요하지 않습니다. 모세가 손을 들었다는 사실이 중요합니다. 해가 질 때까지 손을 내리지 않는 행위로 여호수아는 아말렉 군대를 압도했습니다.
계속되는 승리를 보고 싶다면 항상 손을 들고 주님을 찬양하십시오. 도전을 마주할 때 다음과 같이 선포하십시오. “아버지, 이 문제와 어둠의 세력과 나에 맞선 전쟁들을 대항하여 나는 손을 듭니다.” 손을 드는 행위는 반대하는 세력을 마비시키는 능력을 가지고 있습니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 오늘 나는 아버지의 영광과 위엄과 은혜로 인해 거룩함 가운데 아버지께 손을 들어 아버지를 송축하고 경배합니다. 아버지가 내 삶의 영광이시자 내가 서 있는 견고한 반석이심을 알기에 오늘 아버지 안에서 기뻐합니다. 내 손을 높이 들고 찬양하며 아버지만이 하나님이심을 선포합니다. 아버지는 만물의 위대한 왕이십니다. 아버지의 사랑에 감사드립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

AN ACT OF VICTORY
“Finally, Moses was so tired that Aaron and Hur got a rock for him to sit on. Then they stood beside him and supported his arms in the same position until sunset. That’s how Joshua defeated the Amalekites” (Exodus 17:12-13 CEV).
As referenced in our last study, the lifting of our hands to the Lord is an offering to Him, not a mere religious routine as some folks think. It’s a ministry. For example, Exodus 17:8-13 gives us the account of the Israelites’ battle against the Amalekites.
The Amalekites attacked Israel at Rephidim. Moses instructed Joshua to choose men to fight against Amalek while he went to the top of the hill with the staff of God in his hand. As the battle progressed, whenever Moses held up his hands, the Israelites prevailed, but when he lowered them, the Amalekites gained the upper hand.
Aaron and Hur, the two men who were with Moses noticed that every time Moses lifted his hands, Israel had the advantage, and every time his hands dropped, the opposing side prevailed. Moses, unaware of the impact, was informed by Aaron and Hur that the lifting of his hands influenced the outcome of the battle.
Recognizing the importance, Aaron and Hur provided a stone for him to sit on, and they both helped to bear his hands up on either side. By so doing, Israel prevailed against Amalek. What did that signify? It wasn’t about the height of the hands; it was the lifting of the hands.
Remember that he had to sit down; when he sat down, the height was reduced. So, it wasn’t about how high the hands were; it was the fact that the hands were lifted. With his hands steady until sunset, Joshua overwhelmed the Amalekite forces.
There’s something about the lifting of our hands. If you desire to witness continuous victories and triumphs, always praise the Lord with your hands lifted. When you face challenges, declare, “Father, I lift my hands to you against these issues, against the forces of darkness, against those that war against me.” This act has the power to paralyze opposing forces! Blessed be God!
Prayer
Dear Father, I lift my hands to you today in holiness, to bless and adore you for your glory, majesty and grace. I rejoice in you today, knowing that you’re the glory of my life and the solid rock on which I stand. With my hands lifted in praise, I declare that you alone are God; you’re the great King of all; thank you for your lovingkindness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
