말씀으로 인한 성장
GROWING BY THE WORD
“갓난 아기들 같이 순전하고 신령한 젖을 사모하라 이는 그로 말미암아 너희로 구원에 이르도록 자라게 하려 함이라”(벧전 2:2)
성장은 기적이 아니며 기적을 필요로 해서도 안 됩니다. 성장은 계시된 원리와 방법을 적용한 결과입니다. 성장은 생명의 본질이며 자연스러운 삶의 과정입니다. 생명이 있는 모든 것은 성장합니다. 성장은 생물과 무생물을 구별하는 특징 중 하나입니다.
그리스도인으로서 당신의 영적 성장은 너무나도 중요하며 당신은 오직 말씀으로만 성장할 수 있습니다. 하나님의 말씀은 인간의 영의 양식입니다. 베드로전서 2:2은 말합니다. “갓난 아기들 같이 순전하고 신령한 젖을 사모하라 이는 그로 말미암아 너희로 구원에 이르도록 자라게 하려 함이라.” 하나님의 말씀은 당신을 강건하게 세우며 당신의 삶을 영광에서 영광으로 변화시킵니다.
야고보서 1:21은 말합니다. “…너희 영혼을 능히 구원할 바 마음에 심어진 말씀을 온유함으로 받으라.” 말씀은 좋은 환경에 심어야 알맞게 자라는 자연의 씨앗과 같습니다. 영적으로 성장하기 원한다면 당신의 영을 말씀에 노출시켜야 합니다. 당신은 말씀을 먹어야 합니다.
이는 당신이 지역 교회의 활발한 일원이 되어야 하는 이유 중 하나입니다. 지역교회는 당신에게 믿음을 전이하고 당신의 영을 강하게 만드는 하나님의 말씀을 배우는 곳입니다. 말씀을 개인적으로 공부하십시오. 이것은 정말 중요합니다. 디모데후서 2:15은 말합니다. “너는 진리의 말씀을 옳게 분별하며 부끄러울 것이 없는 일꾼으로 인정된 자로 자신을 하나님 앞에 드리기를 힘쓰라.”
또 디모데후서 3:16-17은 말합니다. “모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로 교훈과 책망과 바르게 함과 의로 교육하기에 유익하니 이는 하나님의 사람으로 온전하게 하며 모든 선한 일을 행할 능력을 갖추게 하려 함이라.” 밑줄 친 부분에 주목하십시오.
자신의 영적성장을 보는 일은 참으로 즐겁습니다! 당신은 자신의 선택과 가치관이 변하는 것을 보게 됩니다. 당신은 오직 영의 일에만 열정과 애정을 두게 됩니다. 이 일은 당신을 위해 누군가 해줄 수 있는 것이 아닙니다. 당신의 책임입니다. 하나님은 그분의 말씀을 당신에게 제공함으로써 이미 그분의 역할을 다하셨습니다. 하나님은 골로새서 3:16에서 말씀하셨습니다. “그리스도의 말씀이 너희 속에 풍성히 거하여 모든 지혜로…”
당신 안에 있는 말씀으로 삶의 위기를 다스릴 수 있습니다. 당신의 건강을 책임질 수 있습니다. 당신은 사탄과 그의 무리를 어떻게 억제할 수 있는지 알고 있습니다. 당신은 자신이 살고 있는 도시, 국가, 그리고 이 세상에 그리스도의 뜻과 통치권을 집행합니다. 이것은 그리스도인의 성장의 과정 중 하나입니다. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내 삶에 있는 당신의 말씀과 능력에 감사드립니다. 나는 은혜와 나의 구주 예수 그리스도를 아는 지식 안에서 성장합니다. 하나님의 말씀을 공부하고 묵상할 때, 내 영은 강하게 세워지고 훈련을 받습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

GROWING BY THE WORD
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby”(1 Peter 2:2).
Growth isn’t a miracle and shouldn’t take a miracle; it’s the result of the application of revealed principles and means. Growth is intrinsic to life; it’s a natural course of life. Everything that has life grows; it’s one of the characteristics that differentiate living things from non-living things.
As a Christian, your spiritual growth is so important, and you can only grow by the Word. God’s Word is food for the human spirit. 1 Peter 2:2 says, “As new-born babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby.” The Word of God builds you and transforms your life from glory to glory.
James 1:21 says, “…receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.” It’s like natural seeds that can only grow properly when planted in the right environment. If you want to grow spiritually, you must expose your spirit to the Word; you must feed on the Word.
It’s one of the reasons you must be an active member of a local church, where you learn the Word of God that imparts faith and builds your spirit strong. Do your personal study of the Word; this is so important. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Then, in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, it says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” Notice the underlined portion.
How exciting it is to watch yourself grow up to spiritual maturity! You notice your choices and values change. Your passion and affection are set only on the things of the Spirit. This isn’t something anyone can do for you; it’s your responsibility. God already fulfilled His role by making His Word available to you. He said in Colossians 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom….”
With the Word in you, you’re able to tame the crises of life. You’re able to take charge of your health. You know how to keep Satan and his cohorts in check. You enforce the will and dominion of Christ in your city, nation, and in the nation of the world. That’s part of Christian growth! Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your Word and its power in my life; I’m growing unto maturity, in grace and in the knowledge of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. My spirit is built up strong, and educated as I study and meditate on God’s Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
