You’re On A Unique Assignment
“일어나 너의 발로 서라 내가 네게 나타난 것은 곧 네가 나를 본 일과 장차 내가 네게 나타날 일에 너로 종과 증인을 삼으려 함이니…”(행 26:16-18)
오늘날 이 땅에는 수십억의 사람들이 있지만 다른 사람과 같은 손가락 지문을 갖고 있는 사람은 전세계 어디에도 없습니다. 우리는 모두 고유한 은사와 축복과 하나님의 부르심을 받았습니다. 그러므로 하나님께서 당신에게 주신 부르심을 이루는 것이 자신의 기쁨이 되게 하십시오. 당신은 독특한 임무를 맡고 있습니다. 하나님께서 당신에게 주신 은혜 안에 거하십시오. 그 누구도 당신처럼 그 일을 할 수 없기 때문입니다.
바울을 떠올려 보십시오. 그는 이방인들의 사도였습니다. 그의 부르심은 당시 사람들이 보기에 좋은 역할은 아니었지만 바울은 자신의 독특한 임무를 좋아했습니다. 바울은 로마서 11:13에서 이렇게 말했습니다. “내가 이방인의 사도인 만큼 내 직분을 영광스럽게 여기노니.” 그는 유대인들에게 가길 원하지 않았습니다. 그것은 베드로에게 주어진 일이었습니다.
여호수아도 마찬가지입니다. 모세가 죽기 전까지, 하나님은 모세와 친밀하게 동행하셨음에도 불구하고 여호수아는 하나님께서 자신에게 원하시는 독특한 임무를 이해하고 있었습니다. 여호수아 1장에서 하나님은 여호수아에게 “너는 이 모든 백성과 더불어 일어나 이 요단을 건너 내가 그들 곧 이스라엘 자손에게 주는 그 땅으로 가라 … 너는 내가 그들의 조상에게 맹세하여 그들에게 주리라 한 땅을 이 백성에게 차지하게 하리라.”고 말씀하셨습니다.
이 명령을 받았을 때, 여호수아는 자신의 임무가 모세의 임무와 다르다는 것을 이해했습니다. 하나님은 모세에게 “네가 내 백성을 애굽에서 인도하여 내기를 원하노라”(출 3:7-10)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 모세는 그들을 애굽의 포로에서 인도해냈지만, 그들을 약속의 땅으로 인도하여 그 땅을 유업으로 나누는 일은 여호수아의 임무였던 것입니다(수 1:2, 수 1:6).
당신이 속한 나라, 도시, 마을, 이웃, 학교 또는 직장에서 자신이 해야 할 독특한 임무를 맡고 있습니까? 당신이 남들과 똑같은 일을 하기 위해 그곳에 있다고 생각하지 마십시오. 당신은 독특한 임무를 수행하고 목적을 이루기 위해 그곳에 있습니다!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나는 이 땅에서 내가 맡은 이 독특한 임무에 대해 감사드리며 즐거워합니다. 나는 그리스도 안에서 내 목적을 완수하고, 아버지를 위해 섬기며 살아갈 수 있도록 창세 전에 계획하신 예정된 길을 걷습니다. 나를 통해 당신의 왕국이 이 땅과 사람들의 마음에 확장되어 그들을 다스립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

YOU’RE ON A UNIQUE ASSIGNMENT
“But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness…”(Acts 26:16-18).
There are billions of people on earth today and no two fingerprints are alike in the whole world. We’re all uniquely gifted, blessed and called of God. So, let your joy be in fulfilling the calling that God has given you. You’re on a unique assignment; stay in the grace that God gave you, as no one can do it exactly like you.
Think about Paul: He was an apostle to the Gentiles; that wasn’t something fashionable in his day, but he celebrated his unique assignment. He said in Romans 11:13, “I am an apostle to the Gentiles; I magnify my office.” He didn’t wish to have been sent to the Jews; Peter had that.
It’s like Joshua too; though He walked closely with Moses before Moses died, he understood the uniqueness of what God wanted him to do. In Joshua chapter 1, God said to him: “go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them…for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.”
When Joshua got those marching orders, he understood that his assignment was unique from that of Moses. God had earlier told Moses, “I want you to bring my people out of Egypt” (Exodus 3:7-10). Moses brought them out of captivity in Egypt all right, but it was Joshua who took them into the land of promise and divided it for their inheritance (Joshua 1:2 & 6).
Have you established your unique assignment in that country, city, town, village, neighbourhood, school, or office? Don’t think you’re there just like everyone else, to do the same things they’re all doing. Understand that you’re on a unique assignment and fulfil your purpose with poise!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I’m immensely grateful and excited about the uniqueness of my assignments in the earth. I fulfil my purpose in Christ, and walk in preordained paths that you planned before the foundation of the world, that I may serve and live for you. Through me, your Kingdom reigns and expands in the earth, and in the hearts of men, in Jesus’ Name.
