구하고, 찾고, 두드리십시오
“Ask, Seek, Knock”
“구하라 그리하면 너희에게 주실 것이요 찾으라 그리하면 찾아낼 것이요 문을 두드리라 그리하면 너희에게 열릴 것이니”(마 7:7)
오늘의 본문 구절에서 주님은 우리에게 세 가지 일을 하라고 말씀하십니다. 구하고, 찾고, 두드리십시오. 이는 이 세 가지의 차이점을 암시합니다. 성경을 공부해보면 차이점을 분명히 알 수 있습니다.
예수님은 “구하는 이마다 받을 것이요 찾는 이는 찾아낼 것이요 두드리는 이에게는 열릴 것이니라”(마 7:8)고 말씀하셨습니다. 당신이 구할 때, 그것은 하나님께 구하는 것이거나 당신의 믿음을 바탕으로 요청하는 것입니다. 주님이 다음과 같이 말씀하신 것과 같습니다. 주님께서 “내게 구하라 내가 이방 나라를 네 유업으로 주리니 네 소유가 땅 끝까지 이르리로다”(시 2:8) 주님은 당신이 구하면 받게 될 것이라고 하셨습니다.
당신이 무언가를 구할 때, 누군가를 찾는 것이 아닙니다. 당신이 실제로 무언가를 추구하는 것입니다. 예를 들어, 특정 주제에 대한 지식이나 정보를 찾고 있거나, 특정 업계에서 기회를 찾고 있을 수 있습니다. 그분은 “찾으라 그리하면 찾아낼 것이요”라고 말씀하십니다. 찾으십시오. 그러면 당신은 찾아낼 것입니다.
당신이 주님께 공동체를 구했고, 주님이 그것을 주셨다고 상상해 보십시오. 비록 당신이 자신의 영 안에서 공동체를 받았을지라도, 그것을 얻기 위해 여전히 믿음의 행동을 취해야 합니다. 바로 그것이 주님이 하신 일입니다. “인자가 온 것은 잃어버린 자를 찾아 구원하려 함이니라”(눅 19:10) 당신이 나가서 믿음으로 걷는다면, 당신이 찾던 것을 찾게 될 것입니다.
“두드리라”는 기도의 중요성을 가르칩니다. 예수님은 밤중에 친구가 찾아온 어떤 사람을 예로 말씀하셨습니다. 그는 친구에게 줄 빵이 없었기 때문에 다른 친구의 집 문을 두드리며 빵을 구했습니다. 그의 친구는 자신과 가족 모두 잠자리에 들었다며 요청을 거절했지만, 그는 문을 두드리는 것을 멈추지 않았습니다.
그러자 예수님이 다음과 같이 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 너희에게 말하노니 비록 벗됨으로 인하여서는 일어나서 주지 아니할지라도 그 간청함을 인하여 일어나 그 요구대로 주리라”(눅 11:8) 예수님은 그분의 제자들에게 절대 포기하지 말 것과 믿음은 역사한다는 것을 가르쳐주기 위해 이 세 가지를 사용하셨습니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 충만하고 경건한 삶에 필요한 모든 공급이 이미 그리스도를 통해 나에게 주어졌음을 알고 감사드립니다. 그러므로 나는 무엇이든지 예수 이름으로 구하고 응답을 받으라는 초청의 유익을 누립니다. 아멘.

“ASK, SEEK, KNOCK”
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” (Matthew 7:7).
In our opening verse, the Lord tells us to do three things: To ask, seek, and knock. This seems to suggest a difference between the three of them. When you study the Bible, you’ll clearly see the differences.
Jesus said, “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” (Matthew 7:8). When you ask, it’s either you’re asking God or you’re making a demand on the basis of your faith. Like when the Lord says, “Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession” (Psalms 2:8). He says when you ask, you’ll receive.
In seeking, you’re not asking anybody; you’re actually in pursuit of something. For instance, you may be seeking knowledge or information on a subject matter. You may even be seeking for opportunities in a certain industry. He says, “seek, and ye shall find.” Seek, and you’ll get it.
Imagine that you asked the Lord for your community and He gave it to you. Even though you’ve received it in your spirit, you still have to go out as an act of faith to get it. That’s what the Master did: “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). As you go out and take your steps by faith, you’ll find what you’re looking for.
“Knock” teaches importunity in prayer. Jesus gave an example of a certain man who had a friend come to him at midnight. He didn’t have bread to give him, so he went to knock on another friend’s door to ask for bread. His friend refused to get up because he and his family had already gone to bed, but the man didn’t stop knocking.
Then, Jesus said, “I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth” (Luke 11:8). Jesus used these three to teach His disciples never to give up, and that faith works.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I’m grateful to know that all the provisions necessary for a fulfilling life and a godly existence have already been made accessible to me through Christ. Therefore, I take advantage of the open invitation to ask anything in the Name of Jesus and receive answers. Amen.
