참된 만족은 그리스도 안에 있습니다
True Fulfilment Is In Christ
“이는 우리가 그분 안에서 살며 움직이며 존재하기 때문이라.”(행 17:28, 한글 흠정역)
인간은 하나님의 형상을 따라 만들어졌기 때문에 거듭나지 않은 사람조차도 놀라운 능력과 잠재력을 가지고 있습니다. 우리는 역사를 통틀어 놀라운 발전과 혁신을 목격했습니다. 시대를 거쳐 이뤄낸 인간의 기술, 예술, 과학 분야의 업적에 대해 생각해 보십시오.
이러한 업적들은 의심할 여지 없이 인상적이지만, 삶에는 그보다 더 중요한 것이 있습니다. 우리는 많은 사람들이 이러한 놀라운 업적을 이루었음에도 불구하고 여전히 깊숙이 자리 잡은 공허함에 시달린다는 것을 압니다. 그들은 삶을 더 편리하게 만들어줄 물건들을 만들고, 그것이 행복을 가져다줄 것이라고 생각하지만, 여전히 불만족스러워합니다.
예를 들어, 엄청난 지식을 가졌지만 여전히 “삶”의 의미에 대해 고민하는 한 교수가 있다고 생각해 보십시오. 그는 지적 능력에도 불구하고 평안과 만족이 없습니다. 그리고 안타깝게도 그의 삶을 끝내기로 결심합니다. 얼마나 슬픈 일입니까! 이 극단적인 예시는 아무리 많은 지식이나 성공을 거두더라도 참된 만족은 오직 그리스도 안에만 있다는 것을 보여줍니다.
오늘날에도 많은 사람들이 “우리는 왜 여기 있는가?”라고 묻는 지경에 이르렀습니다. 그들은 이 땅에 많은 것들을 축적했지만, 여전히 만족을 찾고 있습니다. 또한 많은 명성을 가졌음에도 여전히 “기쁨은 어디에 있는가?”라고 생각하는 사람들을 생각해 보십시오. 역사는 부유한 사람들의 이야기로 가득 차 있습니다. 그들은 부유함에도 불구하고 공허했고 불만족스러웠습니다.
수년 전, 부유한 집안 출신의 매우 부유한 남자가 있었습니다. 그는 자신이 소유한 모든 부에도 불구하고 “내가 왜 행복하지 않은지 모르겠습니다. 가난해져 볼까 생각도 했습니다. 가난이 제가 경험해 본 적 없는 유일한 것이기 때문입니다.”라고 말했습니다. 그는 가진 모든 것을 포기하고 고립된 은둔자로 살기로 결심했습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그는 기쁨을 찾을 수 없었습니다. 참된 만족은 이 세상에 있지 않고 그리스도 안에 있기 때문입니다.
그리스도는 모든 기쁨, 모든 평안, 모든 만족의 근원이십니다. 그리스도 밖에서는 모든 것이 덧없고 의미를 잃습니다. 당신은 그리스도 안에서 삶의 의미, 자신이 창조된 목적을 찾을 수 있으며, 상황을 초월하는 진정한 기쁨을 찾을 수 있습니다. 당신은 그리스도 안에서 하나님의 선하심을 모두 발견합니다. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 주 예수님, 나의 참된 만족, 기쁨, 평안의 근원이 되어주시니 감사합니다. 주님은 내 존재의 이유이십니다. 나의 만족과 순전한 기쁨은 성령으로 말미암은 주님과의 교제로부터 옵니다. 내가 다른 많은 사람들을 나와 같은 영광스러운 목적의 삶, 영원한 기쁨, 참된 만족으로 인도하도록 도와주시니 감사드립니다. 아멘.

TRUE FULFILMENT IS IN CHRIST
“For in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28 NIV).
Man was made in the image of God, and that’s why even the natural man possesses incredible capacity and potentials. Throughout history, we’ve witnessed remarkable advancements and innovations that have shaped the world. Consider man’s accomplishments through the ages in technology, arts and sciences.
These achievements are undoubtedly impressive, but there’s more to life than these. We know that despite accomplishing amazing feats, many still find themselves grappling with an underlying sense of emptiness; they create things to make life easier, thinking it will bring happiness, yet they find themselves dissatisfied.
For instance, think of a professor who has acquired immense knowledge, yet struggles with the meaning of “life.” He has no peace or satisfaction despite his intellectual prowess, and tragically decides to end his life. How sad! This stark example illustrates that no matter how much knowledge or success one attains, true fulfilment is in Christ and Christ alone.
Even today, many have gotten to a point where they’re asking, “Why are we here?” They’ve accumulated so much on earth, but are still searching for fulfilment. Or consider those with so much fame who still find themselves asking, “Where’s the joy?” History is replete with stories of wealthy individuals who, despite their riches, felt empty and unfulfilled.
There was a very wealthy man many years ago, who came from a wealthy family. Despite all his riches, he said, “I don’t know why I am not happy. Maybe I should try poverty because that is one thing I have never experienced.” He gave up everything and decided to live as a hermit in isolation. But even then, he didn’t find joy, because true fulfilment in life isn’t found in this world but in Christ.
Christ is the source of all joy, all peace, and all fulfilment. Outside of Him, everything is fleeting and meaningless. In Him, you find the meaning of life, the purpose for which you were created, and the true joy that transcends circumstances. In Christ, you find all of God’s goodness. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for being my source of true fulfilment, joy and peace. You’re my reason for being; my satisfaction and pure delight come from my relationship with you by the Holy Spirit. And I thank you for helping me bring many others into the same glorious life of purpose, eternal joy and true fulfilment. Amen.
