“만일 너희 속에 하나님의 영이 거하시면 너희가 육신에 있지 아니하고 영에 있나니 누구든지 그리스도의 영이 없으면 그리스도의 사람이 아니라”(롬 8:9)
성령님 없이 진정한 그리스도인의 삶을 사는 것은 불가능합니다. 사실 성령님 없는 삶은 그리스도인의 삶이라고 할 수 없습니다. 성령님은 기독교의 영광입니다. 성령님이 없었다면, 당신은 하나님을 알거나 예수님을 사랑할 수 없었을 것입니다. 성령님이 없는 그리스도인은 사탄의 공격이나 계략이나 속임수에 당하기 쉽습니다.
예수님은 마태복음 12:43-44에서 성령님이 없는 사람의 상태를 설명해 주는 교훈적인 내용을 말씀하셨습니다. “더러운 귀신이 사람에게서 나갔을 때에 물 없는 곳으로 다니며 쉬기를 구하되 쉴 곳을 얻지 못하고 이에 이르되 내가 나온 내 집으로 돌아가리라 하고 와 보니 그 집이 비고 청소되고 수리되었거늘.”
거듭났지만 성령을 받지 못한 사람은 청소되고 수리되었지만 비어 있는 “영”을 가지고 있는 것입니다! 결과적으로 그는 유혹과 죄에 쉽게 빠지게 됩니다. 그는 자신의 육신적인 욕망을 통제하거나 악으로부터 자신을 제지할 수 없습니다. 육신적인 행위와 욕망을 삼가는 일은 오직 성령을 통해서만 가능합니다. “너희가 육신대로 살면 반드시 죽을 것이로되 영으로써 몸의 행실을 죽이면 살리니”(롬 8:13).
성령님 없이는 그리스도 예수의 성품을 가질 수 없습니다. 예수님은 성령님이 필요하셨습니다. 사도들도 성령님이 필요했습니다. 성령님 없는 삶은 공허합니다. 만약 당신이 아직 성령을 받지 못했다면, 지금 받으십시오. 간단히 이렇게 고백하십시오. “복되신 성령님, 저는 지금 제 영에 당신을 받습니다.” 그리고 바로 방언으로 말하기 시작하십시오.
기도
귀하신 성령님, 당신과 교제를 누리는 특권에 감사드립니다. 당신은 나를 지속적인 발전, 끝없는 성공, 계속되는 승리의 길로 인도하셨습니다. 또한 내 삶에 많은 결실과 생산성을 주셨고, 그리스도인으로 아름다움과 기쁨의 삶을 살게 하셨습니다. 나는 아직 당신을 모르는 사람들이 그들의 삶에서 당신의 너무나 중요한 사역을 깨닫게 되기를 기도합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his (Romans 8:9).
It’s impossible to live the authentic Christian life without the Holy Spirit; as a matter of fact, what you’d have wouldn’t qualify to be called the Christian life. The Holy Spirit is the glory of Christianity. You couldn’t know God or love Jesus without the Holy Spirit. Christians who don’t have the Holy Spirit are vulnerable to Satan, to his attacks, manoeuvres and manipulations.
In Matthew 12:43-44, Jesus tells us something instructive, which in a sense, describes the condition of the one who doesn’t have the Holy Spirit. He said,
“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.”
The one who’s born again but hasn’t received the Holy Spirit has his “spirit” swept and garnished, but empty! Consequently, he easily falls into temptations and sin. He’d be unable to control his fleshly appetites or restrain himself from evil. It’s only through the Holy Spirit that you mortify the deeds of the body and carnal desires: “For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live” (Romans 8:13).
Without the Holy Spirit, you can’t have the character of Christ. Jesus had to have the Holy Spirit.
The apostles had to have the Holy Spirit. Life without the Holy Spirit is empty. If you haven’t received the Holy Spirit, do so right away. Simply say, “Blessed Holy Spirit, I receive you into my heart now in the Name of Jesus Christ”; and be filled with the Spirit of God. Amen.
PRAYER
Precious Holy Spirit, I’m grateful for the privilege of fellowship with you. You’ve set me on the path of consistent progress, unending success and recurrent victory. You brought fruitfulness and productivity into my life, making my Christian walk one of beauty and joy. I pray for those who haven’t known you, that they be granted an understanding of your indispensable ministry in their lives, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
