사랑의 하늘 아버지
A LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER
“사랑하지 아니하는 자는 하나님을 알지 못하나니 이는 하나님은 사랑이심이라”(요일 4:8)
오늘의 본문구절에서 밑줄 친 부분은 하나님이 사랑이시라고 말하는데, 이 진술은 예수님의 삶과 사역을 가장 분명하게 이해하고 묘사합니다. 예수님은 하늘에서 내려오신 사랑이셨습니다. 그분은 아버지의 사랑의 화신으로서 그 사랑을 가장 온전히 드러내신 분이셨습니다. 그분은 아버지의 본성을 나타내고 완벽하게 보여준 전형이셨습니다.
모세의 율법은 하나님이 사랑 또는 사랑의 아버지이신 것을 밝혀주지 못했습니다. 그러나 예수님은 오셔서 하나님을 아버지라고 부르셨고, 이에 하나님을 아버지로 안 적이 없던 사람들은 깜짝 놀랐습니다. 그들은 하나님을 크신 하나님으로, 지성소에 그룹(cherubim)과 타는 촛불 사이에 계시는 하나님으로 알았지 사랑의 아버지로는 알지 못했습니다. 그들은 하나님의 심판에 대해서는 잘 알고 있었지만 하나님이 성소를 벗어나서 보고 만질 수 있는 분이라는 사실을 알지 못했습니다. 그러나 예수님은 이 모든 것을 바꾸셨습니다.
예수님은 상처를 입고 눌리고 짓밟힌 자들이 있는 거리나 분주한 인생의 교차로에 나타난 하나님의 신성한 임재이셨습니다. 많은 사람들이 병자와 눌린 자들을 데리고 그분께 나오자, 그분은 그들 모두를 고치셔서 아버지의 사랑을 입증하셨습니다. 한 번은 그분이 회당에서 말씀을 가르치고 계실 때 어떤 여인이 들어왔습니다. 그녀는 몸이 구부러져서 스스로 몸을 펼 수도 없는 상태였습니다. 그녀는 그런 상태로 18년을 살았습니다.
그녀가 회당 안으로 들어오자, 예수님이 그녀를 부르신 다음, 그녀를 만지시면서 “여자여 네가 네 병에서 놓였다”(눅 13:12)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 사랑이 손을 뻗어 그녀를 만졌습니다. 그러자 즉시로 그녀가 온전하게 되었습니다. 이후 회당장은 예수님이 안식일에 사람을 고친 것으로 인해 화를 냈습니다. 하지만 주님의 반응을 읽어보십시오. “외식하는 자들아…그러면 열여덟 해 동안 사탄에게 매인 바 된 이 아브라함의 딸을 안식일에 이 매임에서 푸는 것이 합당하지 아니하냐”(눅 13:15-16)
이는 우리에게 아버지의 심정을 보여줍니다. 우리의 하늘 아버지께서는 사랑으로 다스리고 통치하십니다. 사랑에 맞설 장벽이나 법이나 방해나 장애물은 없습니다. 하늘 아버지께서는 사랑하시는 것은 물론이고 그분의 전부가 사랑이고 영원히 은혜로우시고 친절하십니다!
고백
은혜로우신 사랑의 아버지, 성령을 통해 내 심령 안에 아버지의 사랑을 풍성하게 넣어주셔서 감사드립니다! 오늘 나는 내 안에 아버지처럼 사랑할 수 있으며 또 죽어가고 상처 입은 세상에 아버지의 불굴의 사랑을 보여줄 수 있는 능력이 있음을 의식하며 걷습니다. 내 심령에 있는 아버지의 사랑을 통해 가장 심각한 질병과 낙담과 슬픔과 고통과 비참에서 많은 이들이 구출 받으며 그리스도 안에 있는 건강으로 옮겨지고 있습니다. 아멘.

A LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love (1 John 4:8).
The underlined portion of our opening scripture says God is love. This statement is most clearly understood and depicted by the life and ministry of Jesus. He was love come down from heaven. He was the embodiment and fullest revelation of the Father’s love. He expressed and epitomised the nature of the Father. The Law of Moses didn’t reveal God as love or a loving Father, but when Jesus came, He called God Father, and the people were amazed because they never knew God as their Father. They knew Him as the Great God; they knew Him as the God between the cherubim and burning candles in the inner sanctuary, but not as a loving Father; they were more acquainted with His judgments. They didn’t know that God could be seen and touched beyond the sanctuary. Jesus was God’s divine presence in the streets, in the busy crossroads of life, where the bruised, the oppressed, and the downtrodden were. The people went to Him in their multitudes, bearing their sick and oppressed, and He healed them all, demonstrating the love of the Father. Once, while He was teaching in a synagogue, a woman came in; she was bowed over and couldn’t straighten herself. She had been in that condition for eighteen long years. As she walked in, Jesus called her, touched her, and said, “…Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity” (Luke 13:12). Love reached out and touched her; and instantly, she was made whole. Consequently, the ruler of the synagogue expressed indignation that Jesus would heal someone on the Sabbath day. But read the Lord’s response: “…Thou hypocrite…ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?” (Luke 13:15-16). This shows us the heart of the Father. Our heavenly Father rules and reigns in love. There’re no barriers, laws, hindrances or obstacles against love. He doesn’t just love; He’s all love; He’s forever gracious and kind! Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
Loving and gracious Father, thank you for the rich deposit of your love in my heart by the Holy Spirit! Through your love in my heart, many are rescued from the deepest depths of sickness, depression, sorrow, pain and misery, and are translated into their place of health in Christ. Amen.
