법문 그 이상입니다
More Than Letters
“우리는 어떤 일이라도 우리에게서 난 것 같이 생각하여 스스로 만족하지 않는 것은 우리의 만족이 하나님께로부터 난 것이기 때문이라. 또한 그분은 우리로 새 언약의 능력 있는 일꾼이 되게 하셨는데, 이는 법문으로 한 것이 아니고 영으로 한 것이니, 법문은 죽이고 영은 살리기 때문이라.”(고후 3:5-6, 한글킹제임스)
하나님의 말씀은 법문 그 이상입니다. 말씀은 영이며 생명입니다. 법문은 죽이지만 영은 생명을 줍니다. 예수님은 말씀하셨습니다. “살리는 것은 영이니 육은 무익하니라 내가 너희에게 이른 말은 영이요 생명이라”(요 6:63). 말씀은 우리를 짓고, 세우고, 영광에서 영광으로 변화시킵니다. 이것이 우리가 하나님의 말씀을 묵상하는 것을 강조하는 이유입니다.
묵상은 말씀이 당신의 영에 들어와 당신에게 개인적인 말씀이 되게 합니다. 하나님의 말씀을 공부하거나 들을 때 그 말씀에 근거하여 말하도록 영이 고무된다면 그것을 억누르지 말고 말하십시오. 당신이 말씀을 들을 때마다 하나님이 당신에게 말씀하고 계신 것입니다. 그분은 항상 당신이 응답하기를 원하십니다. 바로 그곳에 영광이 있습니다!
당신이 하나님의 말씀에 응답하기 전까지는 어떤 결과도 거두지 못할 것입니다. 말씀은 당신에게 그저 법문이 될 것입니다. 그러나 당신 입에 있는 말씀은 하나님께서 말씀하시는 것이며 마귀를 무너뜨리고 삶의 역경을 이기는 성령의 검입니다.
당신의 재정이나 건강 및 가족에 대해 갈망하는 변화는 당신 곧 말씀에 대한 당신의 반응에 달려있습니다. 시편 119:39은 말합니다. “오 주여, 주의 말씀은 영원히 하늘에 세워졌나이다.”(한글킹제임스) 그분의 말씀은 하늘에 세워져 있지만, 반드시 당신이 말씀 고백을 통해 그 말씀을 당신의 삶에 세워야 합니다. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 당신의 말씀은 나의 생명이며, 내 길을 승리와 영광으로 인도하는 빛입니다. 나는 결코 어둠 속에 걷지 않습니다. 내 영은 그리스도 안에 있는 나의 유업을 알고 붙잡도록 성령으로 말미암아 계시되기 때문입니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

MORE THAN LETTERS
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life (2 Corinthians 3:5-6).
The Word of God is more than letters; it’s spirit and life. The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Jesus said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63).
The Word builds, lifts, and transforms us from glory to glory. It’s the reason we emphasize meditating on the Word of God.
Meditation gets the Word into your spirit to become personal to you. As you study or listen to God’s Word, every time there’s a stirring in your spirit to speak forth words on the basis of what you’re studying or being taught, don’t suppress it. Speak forth.
Each time you hear the Word, it’s God talking to you, but He always wants you to respond; that’s where the glory is!
Until you respond to God’s Word, it won’t produce any results. The Word will be mere letters to you. But the Word in your mouth is God talking; it’s the sword of the Spirit with which you cut the devil down and prevail over the adversities of life.
That transformation you desire in your finances, health and family is dependent on you, your response to the Word. Psalm 119:89 says, “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” His Word is settled in heaven, but you must settle it in your life through your affirmations of the Word. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, your Word is my life, and the light that guides my path in victory and glory. I’ll never walk in darkness, because my spirit is enlightened by the Holy Spirit to know and take a hold of my inheritance in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
