Pride Yourself In His Ability

“나는 포도나무요 너희는 가지라 그가 내 안에, 내가 그 안에 거하면 사람이 열매를 많이 맺나니 나를 떠나서는 너희가 아무것도 할 수 없음이라”(요 15:5)

주님께서는 “…나 없이는 너희가 아무것도 할 수 없다”고 말씀하셨습니다. 당신의 인간적인 능력, 총명함, 지혜, 기술, 능력으로는 아무것도 이룰 수 없습니다. 그러므로 절대 인간적인 능력을 자랑하지 마십시오. 주님을 신뢰하십시오.

당신의 성공은 전적으로 당신이 주님께 어떻게 연결되어 있는지에 달려 있습니다. 당신의 능력은 그분께 달려 있습니다. “우리는 어떤 일이 우리 자신에게서 난 것으로 생각할 만큼 능력이 있지 아니하며 (능력의 자격이 있거나 충분하지 아니하며) 오직 우리의 힘과 능력은 하나님에게서 나느니라”(고후 3:5 확대번역본).

바울이 이렇게 주 안에서 자랑한 것도 당연합니다. “내게 능력 주시는 자 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있느니라”(빌 4:13). 바울은 “내가 아주 똑똑하므로 모든 것을 할 수 있다”고 말하지 않았습니다. 그렇습니다. 당신의 능력은 당신 안에 계신 그리스도께 달려있습니다. 당신 안에서 그리고 당신을 통해 일하시는 그분의 사역에 달려있는 것입니다. 이는 역대하 14장의 아사의 이야기가 생각나게 합니다. 성경은 유다가 백만 명의 병사와 삼백 대의 병거에 의해 침략당했다고 말합니다. 아사왕과 그의 군대는 숫자에서 완전히 밀렸습니다. 아사는 유일한 승리의 길이 오직 여호와를 의지하는 것임을 깨달았습니다.

역대하 14:11에서 아사는 그의 하나님께 온 마음을 다해 기도하고 주님께 부르짖으며 이렇게 말했습니다. “…여호와여 힘이 강한 자와 약한 자 사이에는 주밖에 도와줄 이가 없사오니 우리 하나님 여호와여 우리를 도우소서 우리가 주를 의지하오며 주의 이름을 의탁하옵고 이 많은 무리를 치러 왔나이다 여호와여 주는 우리 하나님이시오니 원하건대 사람이 주를 이기지 못하게 하옵소서 하였더니.”

주님께서는 응답하셨고 유다에게 놀라운 승리를 주셨습니다. “여호와께서 구스 사람들을 아사와 유다 사람들 앞에서 치시니 구스 사람들이 도망하는지라”(대하 14:12). 여기서 아사에 대해 주목할 점이 있습니다. 그는 멍하니 앉아서 “무엇이든 일어날 일은 일어날거야” 라고 생각하지 않았습니다. 그는 행동했습니다. 당신이 믿음으로 내딛는 발걸음은 중요합니다. 기도를 한 후 아사와 그의 군대는 적을 향해 돌격했고 승리했습니다. 할렐루야!

사랑하는 아버지, 내 안에서 강력하게 역사하시는 아버지의 신성한 능력에 감사드립니다. 나의 공급, 능력과 경쟁력은 모두 하나님으로부터 왔습니다. 나는 탁월합니다! 탁월한 생명을 가지고 있습니다! 내 안에서 역사하는 능력은 신성하며 한계가 없으므로 나는 모든 것을 할 수 있습니다. 하나님의 이름을 영원토록 송축합니다. 아멘!

Pride Yourself In His Ability

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing”(John 15:5).

The Lord said, “…without me ye can do nothing.” By your own human ability, ingenuity, wisdom, skills and competence, you can’t achieve anything. Therefore, never pride yourself in your seeming human abilities. Trust in the Lord.

Your success is wholly dependent on your connection to the Lord. Your competence is of Him: “Not that we are fit (qualified and sufficient in ability) of ourselves to form personal judgments or to claim or count anything as coming from us, but our power and ability and sufficiency are from God” (2 Corinthians 3:5 AMPC).

No wonder Paul made his boast in the Lord: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). He didn’t say, “I can do all things because I’m so knowledgeable”; no. It’s about Christ and who He is in you—His ministry in and through you. It brings to mind the story of Asa in 2 Chronicles 14. The Bible tells us Judah was invaded by an army of a million men and three hundred chariots. King Asa and his army were completely outnumbered. Asa realized that the only way to victory was to completely rely on the Lord.

In 2 Chronicles 14:11, Asa cried unto the LORD his God in heartfelt prayers, and said, “…LORD, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O LORD our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O LORD, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.”

The Lord responded and gave Judah a remarkable victory: “So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled” (2 Chronicles 14:12). Now, here’s something to notice about Asa: he didn’t sit idly by, thinking, “Whatever will be, will be”; he took action. Your step of faith is important. Having prayed, Asa and his army charged against the enemy forces and got the victory. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for your divine power that works in me mightily. My sufficiency—ability and competence—is of God. I’m excellent, and I have an excellent life! I can do all things because the power that works in me is divine, and therefore unlimited. Blessed be your Name forever. Amen!
