Your Labour Is Not In Vain

“하나님은 불의하지 아니하사 너희 행위와 그의 이름을 위하여 나타낸 사랑으로 이미 성도를 섬긴 것과 이제도 섬기고 있는 것을 잊어버리지 아니하시느니라”(히 6:10)

잠언 14:23은 모든 수고에는 유익이 있다고 말합니다. 복음을 위해 당신이 행하거나 희생한 일 모두 다 기록되어 있으며(말 3:16), 주님은 그것에 대해 상을 주십니다. 수십 년 전, 주님은 제가 한 일과 사랑의 수고를 잊을만큼 불의한 분이 아니라는 사실을 알려주셨을 때, 그 진리는 저에게 엄청난 기쁨이 되었습니다.

저는 외딴 마을들에서 복음을 전하고 집회를 여느라 제 시간과 삶을 낭비하고 있다는 말을 듣곤 했습니다. 그러나 오늘의 본문 구절을 읽고 나서 기쁨의 눈물이 났습니다. 저는 주님을 찬양하고, 소리치고, 경배했습니다.

주님의 일을 하다가 사방에서 핍박을 받는 것 같을 때가 있습니다. 마치 당신의 시간과 삶을 낭비하고 있는 것 같습니다. 그럴 때마다 하나님은 당신이 한 일과 사랑의 수고를 잊을 만큼 불의한 분이 아니라는 사실을 항상 기억하십시오.

그분은 당신이 하는 모든 일과 복음 전파를 위해 한 일에 대해 상을 주실 것입니다. 그분은 영혼구원을 위한 당신의 모든 기도, 복음 전파를 위한 재정적 기여, 그리스도께 영혼들을 이겨오기 위한 개인적인 복음 전파의 노력, 그리고 당신의 모든 헌신에 대해 상을 주실 것입니다.

예수님이 하신 말씀을 기억하십시오. “… 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 나와 복음을 위하여 집이나 형제나 자매나 어머니나 아버지나 자식이나 전토를 버린 자는 현세에 있어 집과 형제와 자매와 어머니와 자식과 전토를 백 배나 받되 박해를 겸하여 받고 내세에 영생을 받지 못할 자가 없느니라 그러나 먼저 된 자로서 나중 되고 나중 된 자로서 먼저 될 자가 많으니라”(막 10:29-31) 당신의 축복은 천국에 갈 때까지 미뤄지는 것이 아닙니다. 당신의 축복은 이 땅에서부터 시작됩니다.

주님을 위해 무슨 일을 하고 있든지 그 일을 지속하십시오. 계속해서 그분의 말씀을 전파하십시오. 그분의 의를 계속 전하십시오. 그분의 영광으로 당신의 세상에 계속 영향을 주십시오. 굳건하고 흔들리지 않으며, 항상 주님의 일에 더욱 힘쓰십시오. 이는 당신의 수고가 주 안에서 헛되지 않은 줄 알기 때문입니다(고전 15:58).

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 왕국 안에서 그리고 왕국을 위한 나의 수고와 희생이 헛되지 않다는 것을 알기에 내 마음은 기쁨으로 충만합니다! 나는 굳건하고 흔들리지 않으며 항상 주님의 일에 더욱 힘씁니다. 나는 내 수고에 큰 보상이 있음을 알기 때문입니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

YOUR LABOUR IS NOT IN VAIN

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister” (Hebrews 6:10).

The Bible says in Proverbs 14:23 that there’s profit in all labour. Everything you do or sacrifice for the sake of the Gospel is recorded (Malachi 3:16), and the Lord also rewards you for it. This gave me immense joy decades ago when the Lord showed me that He’s not unrighteous to forget my work or labour of love.

I had been told I was wasting my time and my life for preaching the Gospel and holding crusades in remote villages. But then I saw our opening verse and wept for joy. I praised, screamed, and worshipped the Lord.

There’re times you’re about the Lord’s work and there seem to be persecutions from all angles. And it’s as though you’re wasting your time, and wasting your life; at such times, always remember that God isn’t unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love.

He’ll reward you for all that you do, and have done in the propagation of the Gospel. He will reward you for all your prayers for souls to be saved, your financial contributions to the spread of the Gospel, your personal evangelical efforts to win souls to Christ, and all your sacrifices.

Remember the words of Jesus: “…Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life…” (Mark 10:29-31). Your blessing isn’t deferred until you get to heaven. It begins here on earth.

Whatever you’re doing for the Lord, keep at it. Keep spreading His Word. Keep spreading His righteousness. Keep impacting your world with His glory. Remain steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58).

PRAYER

Dear Father, my heart is filled with joy to know that my labour and sacrifices in and for the Kingdom are not in vain! I remain steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that there’s a great reward for my labour in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
