나의 “약함”을 위한 주님의 힘
His Strength For Your “Weakness”
“나에게 이르시기를 내 은혜가 네게 족하도다 이는 내 능력이 약한 데서 온전하여짐이라 하신지라”(고후 12:9)
당신이 주님을 섬길 때, 그분은 당신이 소진되거나 지치도록 결코 내버려 두지 않으신다는 것을 알아야 합니다. 그분은 당신의 힘을 새롭게 하십니다. 이사야 40:30-31은 이것을 이렇게 아름답게 표현했습니다. “소년이라도 피곤하며 곤비하며 장정이라도 넘어지며 쓰러지되 오직 여호와를 앙망하는 자는 새 힘을 얻으리니(renew) 독수리가 날개치며 올라감 같을 것이요 달음박질하여도 곤비하지 아니하겠고 걸어가도 피곤하지 아니하리로다.” 할렐루야!
위에서 “새롭게 하다(renew)”로 번역된 히브리 원어는 말 그대로 ‘생명으로 돌아오다’라는 뜻입니다. 이를 이해하기 위한 정확한 그림은 죽을 것이라고 예상했던 잘린 나무가 갑자기 살아나는 것입니다. 이것은 죽음이 새 생명으로 대체되는 변화입니다. 이처럼 약함이 힘으로 대체됩니다. 이 단어의 동의어는 “대체하다” 또는 “교환하다”입니다. 그러므로, 당신의 약함이 그분의 힘으로 교환되는 것입니다.
골로새서 1:29에서 바울이 이렇게 말한 것은 당연합니다. “이를 위하여 나도 내 속에서 능력으로 역사하시는 이의 역사를 따라 힘을 다하여 수고하노라.” 이는 당신 안에서 역사하는 그분의 신성한 힘에 관한 내용입니다.
또한 고린도후서 3:5-6에서 바울은 우리의 유능함(그리스어: 히카노테스(Hikanotes), 즉 우리를 복음의 능력 있는 일꾼으로 만드는 능력이 사람에게서 나지 않고 하나님께로부터 난다고 말합니다. “우리는 어떤 일이라도 우리에게서 난 것같이 생각하여 스스로 만족하지 않는 것은 우리의 만족이 하나님께로부터 난 것이기 때문이라. 또한 그분은 우리로 새 언약의 능력 있는 일꾼이 되게 하셨는데”(한글킹제임스).
이것이 하나님의 계획입니다. 그분은 약한 자에게 능력과 힘을 주십니다(사 40:29). 하나님과 함께라면, 당신은 절대로 능력과 영감이 고갈되지 않습니다. 이는 사도 바울이 고린도후서 4:16에서 한 말이 떠오르게 합니다. “그러므로 우리가 낙심하지 아니하노니 우리의 겉사람은 낡아지나 우리의 속사람은 날로 새로워지도다.”
주님을 위해 일하고 그분과 함께 하는 일꾼으로서 당신의 힘은 새롭게 됩니다. 당신이 주님을 섬길 때 불타오르고, 영감을 받으며, 기쁨으로 가득해지도록 당신은 하나님의 영에 의해 끊임없이 충전되고 활기를 되찾습니다. 이 사실을 인식하십시오.

HIS STRENGTH FOR YOUR “WEAKNESS”
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness… (2 Corinthians 12:9).
As you serve the Lord, you should know that He never allows you to burn out or wear out. He renews your strength. Isaiah 40:30-31 puts it beautifully; it says, “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Hallelujah!
The Hebrew word translated “renew” above literally means “to bring back to life.” The picture is of an axed tree that’s expected to die but suddenly revives. It’s a kind of transformation where “death” is replaced with a new life; weakness is replaced with strength. One of its synonyms is “substitute” or “exchange.” Thus, your weakness is exchanged for His strength.
No wonder Paul said in Colossians 1:29,
“Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.” So, it’s about His divine strength at work in you. Also, in 2 Corinthians 3:5-6, he said our competence (Greek: Hikanotes) – the ability with which we function as able ministers of the Gospel – is divine and not human: “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament….”
This is God’s plan; He gives power and strength to the weak (Isaiah 40:29). With Him, you never run out of might and inspiration. It brings to mind the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:16: “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
As a labourer with the Lord, working for and together with Him, there’s a renewal of your strength.
You’re constantly refreshed and rejuvenated by the Spirit of God to be afire, inspired and full of joy as you serve Him. Be conscious of this.

Blessed be God! I’m constantly refreshed and rejuvenated by the Spirit of God; inspired and full of joy to serve the Lord. I’m strong in the grace of Jesus Christ, competent and ready for every good work. He is the strength of my life. Hallelujah!
