그분의 위대함은 우리의 유익을 위한 것입니다
HIS GREATNESS IS FOR OUR ADVANTAGE
“그러므로 우리는 예수로 말미암아 항상 찬송의 제사를 하나님께 드리자 이는 그 이름을 증언하는 입술의 열매니라”(히13:15)
오늘의 본문 구절은 주 예수 그리스도에 관한 말씀입니다. 예수님으로 말미암아 우리는 계속해서 찬양 가운데 하나님께 영적 제사를 드려야 합니다. 찬양은 감사를 드리는 것입니다. 감사하며 그분의 주되심과 위대하심을 높이는 것입니다. 감사를 드리기에 합당한 하나님과 그분이 행하신 선한 일들을 인정하는 것입니다.
하지만 더 아름다운 점이 있습니다. 하나님을 찬양하고 그분의 위대함을 인정하는 가운데, 우리는 그분의 위대하심이 우리의 유익을 위해, 즉 우리를 사랑하고, 돌보시고, 축복하시기 위한 것이며, 그분께서 우리를 위해 행하신 수많은 일들 역시 우리를 위한 것이라는 것에 감사합니다.
에베소서 1:19에 등장하는 성령으로 말미암은 바울의 기도는 이를 더 자세히 설명합니다. “그의 힘의 위력으로 역사하심을 따라 믿는 우리에게 베푸신 능력의 지극히 크심이 어떠한 것을 너희로 알게 하시기를 구하노라.” 예를 들어, 하나님께서 예수님을 죽은 자 가운데서 살리시며 큰 권능을 보여 주셨을 때, 우리 역시 예수님과 함께 일어났습니다. 할렐루야!
우리에게 드러난 그분의 모든 능력과 위대하심은 우리를 축복하기 위함입니다. 하나님은 만물을 창조하셨습니다. 별과 달, 해와 모든 행성들, 우리가 알고 있는 것들과 모르고 있는 것들, 우리가 보는 것과 보지 못하는 모든 것이 다 우리를 위함 입니다.
디모데전서 6:17에서 하나님께서 우리에게 모든 것을 후히 주사 누리게 하신다고 말씀하신 것은 당연합니다. 하나님은 그분께서 소유하신 모든 것을 우리에게 나누어 주셨습니다! 베드로후서 1:3은 말합니다. “그의 신기한 능력으로 생명과 경건에 속한 모든 것을 우리에게 주셨으니…” 이 구절을 묵상해보십시오! 그리고 고린도전서 3:21에서는 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “…만물이 다 너희 것임이라.” 하나님을 송축합니다!
기도
복되신 아버지, 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 나를 향한 측량할 수 없고 한계 없는 지극히 풍성하신 은혜와 선하심과 친절하심에 감사드립니다. 당신은 참되고 지혜로우신 하나뿐인 하나님이시며, 모든 일을 주관하시고 다스리시는 분이십니다. 당신은 송축 받기 합당하신 유일무이한 왕이십니다. 모든 영광과 존귀와 위엄과 권세와 찬양이 당신께 있습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HIS GREATNESS IS FOR OUR ADVANTAGE
“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name”(Hebrews 13:15).
Our opening scripture is referring to the Lord, Jesus Christ. By Him, we’re to continually offer spiritual sacrifices to God in praise. Praise is thanksgiving: thanking and extolling God’s Majesty and greatness; acknowledging Him in His acts of kindness, for which you’re grateful and thankful.
But here’s the beautiful thing: in praising Him, in acknowledging His greatness, we’re thankful that His greatness is directed towards us for our advantage, in loving us, taking care of us, blessing us and all the numerous things He’s done for us.
The Spirit’s prayer through Paul in Ephesians 1:19 further explains it; it says, “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power.” For example, when He demonstrated that great power in raising Jesus from the dead, He raised us up together with Him. Hallelujah!
Everything He’s revealed to us about His power and His greatness is all about blessing us. He created all things: the stars, the moons, the sun, all the planets, the things we know and don’t know, and the ones we see and don’t see; they’re all for us.
No wonder the Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:17 that He gives us all things richly to enjoy. He shared all of what He’s got with us! 2 Peter 1:3 says, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things….” Think about that! Then He said in 1 Corinthians 3:21, “…all things are yours.” Blessed be God!
PRAYER
Thank you, blessed Father, for the immeasurable, limitless, surpassing riches of your grace in your kindness and goodness of heart directed toward me in Christ Jesus. You’re the only true and wise God, who reigns and rules in the affairs of men; the One who is the blessed and only Sovereign. To you, Lord, be all glory, honour, majesty, dominion and praise, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
