Offspring Of Love
“사랑은 오래 참고, 친절하며, 사랑은 시기하지 아니하고, 사랑은 자랑하지 아니하며, 사랑은 교만하지 아니하고”(고전 13:4, 한글킹제임스)
성경은 하나님이 사랑이시라고 말합니다(요일 4:8). 사랑은 그분의 본성이며 하나님이 곧 사랑이십니다. 그러므로 우리가 사랑의 속성에 대해 이야기할 때, 우리는 하나님의 속성에 대해 말하고 있는 것입니다. 이를 오늘의 본문 구절에 적용해보겠습니다. “하나님은 오래 참으시고, 친절하시며, 하나님은 시기하지 아니하시고, 하나님은 자랑하지 아니하시며, 하나님은 교만하지 않으십니다.” 할렐루야!
예수님이 이 땅에 사셨을 때 어떤 모습이셨는지를 기억해보십시오! 그분은 사랑이 이 세상에 표현된 분이셨습니다. 그분이 하신 일들은 사랑의 행동이었습니다. 그분의 말씀은 사랑의 말들이었습니다. 그분은 움직이는 사랑이셨습니다. 갈릴리에 계셨던 예수님은 갈릴리 거리를 침투한 사랑이셨습니다. 사랑이 그 환경에 침투했습니다. 그렇다면 당신은 어떻습니까? 말씀은 당신이 하나님의 자녀라고 말합니다(벧전 1:23). 그렇다면 당신은 사랑의 자녀라는 의미입니다.
독수리는 독수리를 낳습니다. 사람은 사람을 낳습니다. 따라서 사랑(하나님)은 사랑을 낳습니다! 예를 들어, 당신의 이름이 빌립이라면 당신은 “빌립은 오래 참고, 친절하며, 빌립은 시기하지 아니하고, 빌립은 자랑하지 아니하며, 빌립은 교만하지 않습니다.”라고 말해야 합니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다!
하나님의 말씀은 우리가 누구인지 보여줍니다. 하나님의 말씀은 거울입니다. 그 거울을 볼 때, 당신은 오래 참고, 친절하고, 관대하고, 다정하고, 겸손하다는 것을 잊지 마십시오. 당신을 통해 교만이나 미움이 나오려고 하면, 그것을 거절하고 “나는 교만하지 않습니다. 나는 겸손합니다. 나는 예수님이 그러하시듯이 사랑으로 충만합니다. 나는 그분의 이름 안에서 삽니다. 그러므로 나는 그분과 같이 살고 행합니다.”라고 선포하십시오.
온전하게 매는 띠인 그리스도의 사랑이 항상 당신의 심령을 다스리게 하십시오. 당신의 영에 있는 하나님의 사랑의 본성을 아낌없이 표현하고, 당신의 세상에 하늘의 아름다움과 영광을 발산하십시오.
고백
나는 모든 겸손과 온유와 인내로 하나님의 사랑을 발산하고 표현합니다. 나는 다른 사람들을 상냥하게 대하며 내 세상에 하늘의 아름다움과 영광을 넘치도록 나타냅니다. 나는 시기하지 않고, 질투하지 않고, 자랑하지 않고, 교만하거나 거만하지 않습니다. 성령으로 말미암아 하나님의 사랑이 내 마음 속에 부어졌으므로 나는 다른 사람들과 잘 지내며 친절합니다. 할렐루야!

OFFSPRING OF LOVE
Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily (1 Corinthians 13:4 AMPC).
The Bible tells us that God is love (1 John 4:8); love is His nature—who He is. When we talk about the attributes of love, therefore, we’re talking about the attributes of God. Apply this to our theme verse and it’ll read, “God endures long and is patient and kind; God never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, God is not boastful or vainglorious, God does not display Himself haughtily.” Hallelujah!
Recall how Jesus lived when He walked the earth; He was love manifested. His works were works of love. His words were words of love. He was love in motion.
Jesus in Galilee was the intrusion of love in the streets of Galilee. Love invaded that atmosphere. Now, what about you? The Bible says you’re God’s offspring (1Peter 1:23), meaning that you’re the reproduction of love.
The offspring of an eagle would be an eagle. The offspring of a human would be a human. The offspring of Love (God), therefore, is love! So, if your name is Philip, for example, you should say, “Philip endures long; Philip is patient and kind. Philip is never envious nor boils over with jealousy. Philip is not boastful or vainglorious. Philip does not display himself haughtily.” Praise God!
God’s Word shows us who we are; it’s a mirror. When you look at that mirror, don’t forget what you look like: patient, kind, tolerant, loving and humble. If arrogance or hatred tries to gain vent through you, refuse and declare, “I’m not arrogant; I’m humble. I’m full of love as Jesus is; I live in His Name; therefore, I walk and act like Him.”
Let the love of Christ, which is the bond of perfection, rule your heart always. Lavishly express the love-nature of God in your spirit and radiate the beauty and glories of heaven to your world.
CONFESSION
I radiate and express God’s love, and with all humility, gentleness and patience, I relate with others graciously, lavishly expressing the beauty and glories of heaven to my world. I’m not envious, jealous, boastful, arrogant or haughty, but accommodating and kind because the love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!
