“내가 아버지 안에 거하고 아버지는 내 안에 계신 것을 네가 믿지 아니하느냐 내가 너희에게 이르는 말은 스스로 하는 것이 아니라 아버지께서 내 안에 계셔서 그의 일을 하시는 것이라”(요 14:10)
성령은 삼위일체 하나님 가운데 실질적으로 행동을 담당하시는 분입니다. 그분은 하나님의 능력이십니다. 그분은 하나님의 일들을 수행하십니다. 사람은 성령님으로 말미암아 창조되고 형성되었습니다. 하나님께서 그분의 보좌 밖에서 하시는 모든 일은 성령님을 통해 이루어집니다. 성령님 없이는 그 무엇도 일어나지 않습니다. 그분이 없이는 생명도 없습니다.
주 예수님은 이 땅에서 그분의 사역을 하시는 동안 성령님 없이는 그 어떤 일도 하지 않으셨습니다. 오늘의 본문 구절에서 예수님은 성령님을 그분 안에 사시고 일하시는 하나님과 동일시하셨습니다. 그리스도인으로서 당신은 삶에서 이 사실을 인식해야 합니다.
성령님은 특별하고 완전한 성공의 열쇠이십니다. 성경에서 그분과 함께 동행했던 인물들 중에는 그 누구도 실패하지 않았습니다. 그분을 받아들인 사람은 누구나 통치권을 얻고 승리자가 되었습니다. 오늘날 교회의 많은 사람들은 성령님이 어떤 분이신지와 우리의 삶에서 그분이 하시는 사역이 무엇인지에 대해 알아야 합니다. 성령님은 하나님이십니다.
만일 당신이 지역 교회에서 주님을 위해 어떤 일을 수행할 때, 당신이 그 일을 성령의 능력으로 하지 않는다면 아무런 효과가 없을 것입니다. 골로새서 1:29에서 효과적인 사역을 위해 성령의 능력에 전적으로 의지하고 순종하는 바울의 행동을 이해할 수 있습니다. 그는 이렇게 말했습니다. “이를 위하여 나도 내 속에서 능력으로 역사하시는 이의 역사를 따라 힘을 다하여 수고하노라” 우리 모두도 이와 같은 태도를 지녀야 합니다.
성경은 말합니다. “너희 안에서 행하시는 이는 하나님이시니 자기의 기쁘신 뜻을 위하여 너희에게 소원을 두고 행하게 하시나니”(빌 2:13) 이 구절은 성령님에 대해 말하고 있습니다. 당신은 성령님 없이 하나님의 일을 하거나 그리스도인의 삶을 살 수 없습니다. 스가랴 4:6은 말합니다. “… 이는 힘으로 되지 아니하며 능력으로 되지 아니하고 오직 나의 영으로 되느니라” 이것이 하나님께서 우리가 지속적으로 성령으로 충만하기 원하시는 이유입니다(엡 5:18). 성령님은 당신 안에서 일하시는 하나님이십니다. 그분은 당신을 지으시며 당신을 통해 다른 사람들을 지어가십니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나의 심령을 영원히 거처로 삼으시기 위해 오신 성령님으로 인해 감사드립니다. 내가 하는 모든 일에서 나는 성령님을 돕는 자, 위로자, 상담자, 중보자, 변호자, 능력 주시는 자, 비상대기자로 인식합니다. 나는 나의 목적을 완수하도록 성령의 능력 곧 내 안에 역사하는 그분의 신성한 능력과 힘과 지혜에 전적으로 의지합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE HOLY SPIRIT: GOD AT WORK IN YOU
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak to you, I speak not from myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works (John 14:10).
The Holy Spirit is the active agent of the Godhead; He’s the power of God; He carries out the acts of God. Man was created and formed by the Holy Spirit; everything God does outside of His throne is done by the Holy Spirit. Nothing works without the Holy Spirit; there’s no life without Him. The Lord Jesus, in the days of His earthly ministry, did nothing without the Holy Spirit. In our opening verse, He identifies the Holy Spirit as the Father that dwells in Him and does the work. That’s a fact to recognize in your life as a Christian.
The Holy Spirit in your life is your key to extraordinary and absolute success. None of those who walked with Him as revealed in the Scriptures were ever defeated; none was a failure. Everyone who received Him gained the mastery and became the champion. Many in the Church today need to know for sure who the Holy Spirit is and His ministry in their lives. He is Himself, God.
If you were to carry out any task for the Lord in your local Church, for example, until and unless you execute it by the power of the Spirit, there’ll be no impact. You can further understand Paul’s submission in Colossians 1:29 in describing his total dependence on the power of the Spirit for effective ministry work. He said, “Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.” It should and must be the same for every one of us. The Bible says, “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure”(Philippians 2:13); that’s referring to the Holy Spirit.
You can’t do God’s work or even live the Christian life without the Holy Spirit. Zechariah 4:6 says, “…Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.” It’s for the same reason that He wants us perpetually filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). The Holy Spirit is God at work in you, building you, and building others through you.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit who has come to take His abode in the quarters of my heart, permanently. In all that I do, I acknowledge Him as my Helper, Comforter, Counsellor, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby. I’m totally dependent on His power, taking advantage of His divine ability, strength and wisdom at work in me to fulfil my purpose, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
