Your Offering Makes A Difference
“이에 왕이 제사하러 기브온으로 가니 거기는 산당이 큼이라 솔로몬이 그 제단에 일천 번제를 드렸더니” (왕상 3:4)
열왕기상 3장을 보면, 솔로몬은 이스라엘의 왕이 되었을 때 크게 걱정했습니다. 그는 자신이 장남이 아니며 그의 어머니 밧세바가 아버지 다윗의 첫 번째 아내가 아니었다는 것을 알고 있었습니다. 솔로몬은 자신과 어머니를 경멸하는 형들이 있었기 때문에 왕으로서의 위치가 도전 받을 것임을 알고 있었습니다.
예를 들어, 열왕기상 2장을 보면 솔로몬의 형 아도니야가 왕위를 찬탈하려 했고, 솔로몬은 자신의 통치권을 확보하기 위해 나중에 아도니야, 요압, 시므이를 처형하라고 명령했습니다. 이는 솔로몬이 왕위에 오를 당시의 폭력적이고 불안정한 환경을 보여줍니다. 따라서 솔로몬은 왕이었음에도 불구하고 자신의 생명과 지위에 대한 여러 위협을 받고 있었습니다. 그는 자신의 통치권을 확보하고 주변의 위험으로부터 자신을 보호하기 위해 평범한 수준을 넘어서는 일을 해야 한다는 것을 알았습니다.
솔로몬은 어떤 일을 했습니까? 그는 하나님께 특별한 제사를 드렸습니다. 열왕기상 3:4은 말합니다. “이에 왕이 제사를 드리러 기브온으로 가니 거기는 산당이 큼이라 솔로몬이 그 단에서 일천 번제를 드렸더니” 솔로몬은 하나님께 예배드리기 위해 모든 것을 걸기로 결단했습니다. 오늘날 우리는 솔로몬이 한 일에서 배울 수 있습니다. 이는 앞으로 나아가 하나님께서 당신을 두신 곳에 자신을 세우는 방법입니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 하나님의 왕국에 드릴 수 있는 기회를 주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 이 세상의 한계에 굴복하기를 거절합니다. 그리스도는 나의 해방이자 유익이기 때문입니다. 나는 하나님의 신성한 원칙에 나 자신을 일치시키며, 그렇게 할 때 내 삶의 모든 영역에서 발전과 번영이 보장됩니다. 나를 가난과 악의 세력으로부터 분리해 주시니 감사합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

YOUR OFFERING MAKES A DIFFERENCE
“And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar” (1 Kings 3:4).
In 1 Kings 3, when Solomon became king of Israel, he was deeply troubled. He knew he was not the firstborn son, and his mother, Bathsheba, was not the first wife of his father, David. Solomon understood that his position as king would bring challenges because he had older brothers who despised both him and his mother.
For example, when you study the accounts in 1 Kings 2, Solomon’s older brother Adonijah attempted to usurp the throne, and Solomon later ordered the execution of Adonijah, Joab, and Shimei to secure his reign. These show the violent and unstable environment in which Solomon ascended the throne. So, despite being king, he faced several threats to his life and position. He knew he had to do something beyond the ordinary to secure his reign and separate himself from the danger around him.
What did Solomon do? He offered an extraordinary sacrifice to God. 1 Kings 3:4 says, “And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.” Solomon was determined to put everything on the line in his worship to God. Today, we can learn from what Solomon did. It’s one of the ways to move forward and establish yourself where God has placed you.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the opportunity to give into your kingdom. I refuse to be subject to the limitations of this world, for Christ is my riddance as well as my advantage. I align myself with your divine principles, ensuring progress and prosperity in every area of my life. Thank you for separating me from the forces of poverty and wickedness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
