Lifted Into His Class

“또 증거는 이것이니 하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라”(요일 5:11)

당신이 영원한 생명, 즉 시들지 않고, 끝나지 않고, 파괴되지 않는 하나님의 생명을 받을 때, 당신은 하나님의 본성과 의를 받습니다. 이 생명은 당신을 하나님과 같은 종류가 되게 합니다. 이 내용은 매우 중요하므로 제가 더 설명해 드리겠습니다.
우리는 종종 하나님이 어떤 분이신지에 대해 이야기합니다. 하나님은 그분이 원하시는 것은 아무 일이나 하시는, 그 누구도 저항할 수 없을 정도로 강력한 초자연적인 존재가 아니십니다. 어느 정도는 맞는 말이지만, 하나님은 그분의 능력보다 더 위대하십니다. 성경은 하나님이 거룩하시고, 의로우시고, 공의로우시고, 사랑이시라고 말합니다. 하나님은 모든 것을 창조하셨고, 그분이 창조하지 않으신 것은 아무것도 존재하지 않습니다. 모든 것은 그분께 속해 있습니다.
우리는 하나님으로부터 왔고, 그분이 우리를 만드셨습니다. 그분은 우리를 향한 계획을 가지고 계셨고, 그분의 계획 안에서 우리가 단순한 피조물 이상의 존재가 되도록 우리에게 영생을 주시기로 결정하셨습니다. 그분은 우리에게 영생을 주셔서 우리를 하나님과 같은 종류로 끌어올리셨습니다. 고린도후서 5:17은 말합니다. “그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다” 당신이 거듭났다면, 그것은 당신이 그리스도 안에 있다는 뜻입니다. 그리고 당신이 그리스도 안에 있다면, 당신은 새로운 피조물, 새로운 종류의 사람, 새로운 유형의 존재, 하나님과 같은 종류라는 뜻입니다.

어린아이가 다른 종에 속한 개나 고양이가 아닌 인간으로 부모와 관계를 맺듯이, 우리는 하나님의 같은 종류의 존재로 그분과 관계를 맺기 위해 하나님의 같은 종류로 끌어올려졌습니다. 바로 그것이 영생을 받는다는 의미이며, 하나님께서 예수 그리스도를 통해 우리에게 주신 생명입니다. 바로 이것이 우리가 전파하는 좋은 소식, 예수 그리스도의 복음입니다. 이것이 우리가 세상에 영생이 왔고, 이제 믿는 사람이라면 누구나 하나님과 같은 종류로 끌어올려졌다고 선포하는 이유입니다.

LIFTED INTO HIS CLASS

“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son” (1 John 5:11).

When you receive eternal life—which is the unfading, unending, and indestructible life of God—you receive the very nature and righteousness of God. This life lifts you into God’s class of being. Let me explain this to you because it’s so important.
We often talk about who God is. God is not just a supernatural being who is so powerful that no one can resist Him, allowing Him to do whatever He pleases. While that’s true to some extent, there’s more to God than just His power. The Bible tells us that God is holy, God is righteous, God is just, and God is love. He created everything, and nothing exists that He didn’t create. Everything belongs to Him.
We are from God, He made us. He had a plan for us, and in His plan, He determined to give us eternal life so that we would be more than mere creatures. He gave us eternal life to lift us into His class of being. That’s what the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17: “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.” If you’re born again, it means you’re in Christ, and if you’re in Christ, you’re a new creature, a new kind of man, a new type of being, in God’s class of being.
This doesn’t mean that you are equal with God, but that you share in His nature. He remains your God and Heavenly Father, and He is greater than you, yet you can now relate with Him at a personal level, in a father-and- child relationship.
Just as a child relates to the parent as a human being, not as a dog or cat that belongs to a different class, we have been lifted into God’s class of being to relate with Him as associates of the god-kind. That’s what receiving eternal life means, and it’s the life that God has given to us through Jesus Christ. This is the good news we preach. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is why we proclaim it to the world that eternal life has come, and that now, anyone who believes has been lifted into God’s class of being.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. I rejoice because I have been lifted into your class of being, with your divine nature and righteousness. I’m a new creation, born again with your unfading, unending, and indestructible life in me. I walk in the consciousness of this life every day, influencing my world with your power, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

궁창의 빛과 같이 빛나십시오
Shine Brilliantly Like The Firmament

“지혜 있는 자는 궁창의 빛과 같이 빛날 것이요 많은 사람을 옳은 데로 돌아오게 한 자는 별과 같이 영원토록 빛나리라”(단 12:3)

오늘의 본문 구절은 모든 그리스도인에 대해 말하는 것이 아닙니다. 영혼을 구원하고, 많은 사람을 의로 인도하는 사람들에 대해 말합니다. 바로 이 사람들이 궁창의 빛과 같이 빛나는 사람들입니다. 그들은 하늘처럼 사역합니다. 그들의 목소리는 하늘처럼 모든 나라와 모든 언어로 들립니다.
성경은 말합니다. “하늘이 하나님의 영광을 선포하고 궁창이 그의 손으로 하신 일을 나타내는도다 날은 날에게 말하고 밤은 밤에게 지식을 전하니 언어도 없고 말씀도 없으며 들리는 소리도 없으나 그의 소리가 온 땅에 통하고 그의 말씀이 세상 끝까지 이르도다 하나님이 해를 위하여 하늘에 장막을 베푸셨도다”(시 19:1-4) 하늘처럼 기능하지 않는다면 하늘의 밝기처럼 빛날 수 없습니다.
모든 그리스도인은 주님께서 마태복음 28:19-20과 마가복음 16:15에서 지시하신 것처럼 땅끝까지 복음을 전할 책임이 있습니다. 이것이 궁창의 빛으로 빛나는 길입니다. 성경은 “의인의 열매는 생명 나무라 지혜로운 자는 사람을 얻느니라”(잠 11:30)고 말합니다.
우리가 국경을 넘어, 모든 언어로, 열방으로 복음을 전하는 일에 적극적으로 참여할 때, 우리는 하늘처럼 기능하며 모든 사람에게 하나님의 영광을 선포합니다. 언젠가 주 예수 그리스도께서 다시 오실 것이며, 그분은 우리가 모든 사람, 모든 나라, 모든 알려진 언어로 복음을 전한 것을 영광스럽게 여기실 것입니다. 곰곰이 생각해 보십시오. 당신은 잠시가 아닌 영원토록 밝게 빛나는 특권을 받았습니다. 하나님을 영원히 찬양합니다!

SHINE BRILLIANTLY LIKE THE FIRMAMENT

“And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever” (Daniel 12:3).

Our theme verse isn’t talking about every Christian; it is specifically referring to those who win souls, those who turn many to righteousness. These are the ones who shine like the brightness of the firmament. They minister like the heavens: Their voice, like the heavens is being heard in every nation and in every language.
The Bible says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world” (Psalm 19:1-4). You can’t shine like the brightness of the heavens if you don’t function like the heavens.
Every Christian has a responsibility to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth, just like the Lord instructed in Matthew 28:19-20 and Mark 16:15. This is the way to shine as the brightness of the firmament. The Bible says, “He that winneth souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30).
As we actively participate in sending the Gospel across borders, in all languages, into the nations of the earth, we’re functioning like the heavens—declaring the glory of God to all. One day, the Lord Jesus Christ will return, and He will honour us for preaching the Gospel to every man, in every nation, in all known languages. Think about it. You’ve been given the privilege to shine brightly, not just for a moment, but forever and ever. Praise God forevermore!
Spread the Gospel beyond your borders. Rise to this call and get involved in this great work because the Lord’s return is imminent. Every day, do more for the spread of the Gospel. Together, let’s reach beyond our borders and regions. Let’s ensure that our voices echo like the heavens, declaring God’s glory across the earth. This is our responsibility!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege of being a bearer of your glorious Gospel. As I win souls and turn many to righteousness, I shine like the brightness of the heavens. Thank you for empowering me to declare your glory in every language, to every nation, as we anticipate with excitement your glorious return, when you honour us for this great work. Thank you for the grace to do more in spreading the Gospel to the ends of the earth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

누가복음 8:22-25에서 주 예수님과 제자들이 호수를 건너 항해하던 중 폭풍이 일어나 배에 물이 가득 찼습니다. 두려움에 사로잡힌 제자들은 예수님을 깨우며 “주여, 주여, 우리가 죽겠나이다”라고 말했습니다. 그러자 예수님께서 일어나 바람과 성난 물결을 꾸짖으시자 폭풍이 즉시 멈추고 잔잔해졌습니다. 이는 신성한 권세가 놀랍게 나타난 일이었습니다!
그런 다음 성경은 말합니다. “… 그들이 두려워하고 놀랍게 여겨 서로 말하되 그가 누구이기에 바람과 물을 명하매 순종하는가 하더라”(눅 8:25) 여기서 중요한 점은 예수님께서 바람과 파도를 꾸짖으신 후 제자들을 향해 “너희 믿음이 어디 있느냐”고 물으셨다는 것입니다. 그 말씀은 많은 것을 말해줍니다. 그분은 “너희가 스스로 할 수 있었을 텐데”라고 말씀하신 것입니다.

A CALL TO ACT YOUR FAITH

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).

In Luke 8:22-25, the Lord Jesus and His disciples set sail across the lake when a violent storm arose, causing the boat to be filled with water. The disciples, filled with fear, woke Jesus, saying, “Master, Master, we perish!” Jesus then arose, rebuked the wind and the raging waters, and the storm immediately ceased, resulting in a great calm. It was a marvellous display of divine authority!
Then the Bible says, “…And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him” (Luke 8:25). Now, here’s what’s important: after rebuking the wind and the waves, Jesus turned to His disciples and asked, “Where is your faith?” That statement speaks volumes. He’s saying, “You could have done it yourselves.”
By asking, “Where is your faith?” the Lord Jesus revealed that what they needed all along was their faith. He demonstrated that with faith, even the forces of nature are subject to us. He expected His disciples to know that their faith could have handled the situation.
Hebrews 11:33-34 tells us what our forebears did through faith. They subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
We can do the same and even more in our day because we have the same spirit of faith (2 Corinthians 4:13). Our faith is real, it is substance, it has power and the beautiful thing is that every Christian has faith. We all have the same measure of faith (Romans 12:3), and with your faith you can do anything. You can change anything. The forces of nature, hell and of this world are subject to you.
Activate your faith even now and speak to the storm, and there’ll be a great calm. Speak to your body; your blood, your bones, your heart and kidneys. Speak to your job, your finances, and your business. Speak and declare perfection in your health, your home, family, work and business.

PRAYER
Dear Father, my faith is anchored on your Word and it produces tremendous results even now. I walk in health, strength, prosperity and unending victory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

당신의 사고방식이 하나님의 말씀으로 형성된다면, 당신은 한계, 패배, 약함, 실패를 생각할 수 없습니다. 하나님의 말씀은 당신에게 승리자의 사고방식을 줍니다. 당신은 어떤 일이 일어나든 항상 승리한다는 것을 압니다. 이는 모세가 이스라엘 백성에게 약속하신 가나안 땅을 정탐하라고 보낸 열두 명의 정탐꾼 중 여호수아와 갈렙에 대한 이야기를 떠올리게 합니다. 열 명의 정탐꾼은 의심하며 부정적인 보고를 가지고 돌아왔지만, 갈렙과 여호수아는 다른 보고를 했습니다.

갈렙은 “이제 나는 85세로 늙었습니다. 헤브론에는 거인들이 많습니다. 다른 땅을 얻을 수 있겠습니까? 대안이 있습니까?”라고 말할 수도 있었습니다. 그러나 갈렙은 그의 나이에도 불구하고 헤브론을 차지하겠다고 결심하며 “내가 여전히 강건하니”라고 말하며 그곳 거주민들을 몰아낼 준비가 되어 있었습니다. 얼마나 대단한 사고방식입니까!
오늘날 많은 사람이, 심지어 50대인 사람들도, 무언가를 성취하기에는 너무 늦었다고 믿습니다. 그것이 대중적인 믿음이 되었기 때문입니다. 그들은 하나님의 말씀보다 세상의 방식이 더 친숙하게 되었습니다. 갈렙은 그 성들이 얼마나 크고 울타리가 쳐져 있는지, 아낙 자손들이 얼마나 강력해 보이는지에 대해 신경 쓰지 않았습니다. 그는 하나님과 함께한다면 승리가 필연적이라는 것을 알았습니다. 갈렙에게 중요한 것은 그와 함께 하시는 주님이었습니다!
오늘날 동일한 사고방식이 당신을 움직이게 해야 합니다. 당신은 올바른 사고방식을 가져야 합니다. 하나님께서는 당신이 다르게 생각하도록, 즉 그분께서 당신에게 바라시는 대로 생각하도록 부르셨습니다. 이는 매우 중요합니다. 주님께서 우리를 이 시대에 보내셨기 때문입니다. 그분은 우리 안에 계시고 항상 우리와 함께하십니다. 당신은 가족, 사업, 일, 재정, 당신의 도시, 주, 나라에 대해 무언가 할 수 있습니다. 승리가 이미 그리스도 예수 안에서 당신의 것임을 아십시오.
당신은 누구의 지배도 받지 않습니다. 이 세상의 어떤 권세도 당신을 지배할 수 없습니다. 당신은 아브라함의 씨입니다. 당신은 하나님의 상속자이자 그리스도와 함께한 공동 상속자입니다. 당신은 신성한 본성에 참여한 하나님과 같은 사람입니다. 당신에 대한 올바른 사고방식을 가지십시오. 말씀을 통해 당신의 사고방식을 형성하고 세우십시오. 하나님을 찬양합니다!

고백

FRAME YOUR REASONING WITH THE WORD

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2)

When your reasoning is framed by God’s Word, you can’t think limitations, defeat, weakness or failure. God’s Word gives you a champion’s mentality; you just know that “come what may,” you’re always in victory. It brings to mind the story of Joshua and Caleb, two of the twelve spies sent by Moses to scout the land of Canaan; the land God had promised to the Israelites. While ten spies doubted and came back with a negative report, Caleb and Joshua had a different report.
Caleb’s faith and courage stood out, and God promised that he and Joshua would live to enter the land, and that Caleb would inherit the land he had explored. Years later, at 85, Caleb reminded Joshua of God’s promise and boldly declared, “Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day” (Joshua 14:12).
Caleb could have said, “You know, I’m 85 now, old and stricken with years. There are lots of giants in Hebron. Can we get some other land? Is there an alternative?” But no; despite his age, Caleb was determined to claim Hebron, saying, “I am as strong this day as I was” and ready to drive out its inhabitants. What a mindset!
Some people, even in their 50s, start to believe they are too old to accomplish certain things, simply because in today’s world that has become a popular belief. They’ve become more acquainted with the ways of the world than with the Word of God. Caleb didn’t care how great or fenced the cities were or how formidable the Anakim giants seemed. He knew that with God, victory was inevitable. All that was important to Caleb was the Lord with Him!
This same mentality should drive you today. You need to have the right mindset. God is calling you to think differently—to think as He would have you think. This is very important because the Lord has sent us in our day. He’s in us and always with us. You can do something about your family, business, work, and finances, your city, state and nation, knowing that victory is already yours in Christ Jesus.
You’re not at the mercy of anyone. None of the powers of this world can dominate you. You’re the seed of Abraham; you’re an heir of God and joint-heir with Christ. You’re a God-man, a partaker of the divine nature. Have the right mentality about yourself; frame and construct it through the Word. Praise God!

CONFESSION
My mind is constantly renewed by God’s Word to think excellence, victory, glory and dominion. I’m victorious through the Word, confident that in Christ, I’m always and forever triumphant. Amen.

기억하십시오. 그들은 유대인이었고, 유대인들은 기도하는 법을 알고 있었습니다. 유대인들은 항상 기도했습니다. 그들의 삶 전체는 성전과 기도를 중심으로 돌아갔습니다. 그래서 유대인이 “우리에게 기도를 가르쳐 주옵소서”라고 말한 것은 중요한 의미를 가지고 있습니다. 그들은 이미 종교적인 이유로 기도했습니다. 그들의 종교에서 요구되는 부분이었기 때문입니다. 그들은 일상적으로 하루에 여러 번 기도했습니다. 그러나 그들은 예수님은 다르다는 것을 알아차렸습니다. 그들은 예수님의 기도가 효과적이라는 것을 보았습니다. 그들은 결과를 보았습니다. 예수님의 말씀에는 능력이 있었습니다. 예수님께서 말씀하실 때 무언가가 일어났습니다.

PRAYING LIKE HIM

“And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples” (Luke 11:1).

The Lord Jesus was so different from the religious leaders of His day and from what the people around Him were used to. Everything about Him was transcendent and awe-inspiring, including His prayer life and prayer language. His disciples, having watched Him for a while, came to Him one day and said, “Lord, teach us to pray.” Now, why did they ask this?
Remember, they were Jews, and the Jews knew how to pray. The Jews prayed all the time; their entire life was cantered around the temple and revolved around prayer. So, for a Jew to say, “Teach us to pray,” means something significant. They already prayed religiously because their religion demanded it. They prayed several times a day as a routine. But they noticed something different about Jesus; they saw that His prayers were effective. They saw results. His words had power. Something happened when Jesus spoke.
When Jesus prayed, it wasn’t religious; it seemed like He was actually talking to someone who was listening. They never saw the religious leaders pray like that. And even more astonishing, it seemed as though whoever Jesus was talking to responded, as His life reflected answers to those prayers. This was what amazed the disciples so they said, “Master, teach us to pray.” Jesus taught them to pray, and they learned to pray like Him.
As you study the Gospels, the book of Acts, and the Epistles, you discover that they indeed learned to pray like Jesus. Through their writings, they taught us to pray as Jesus taught them, and now, we also pray like Jesus and have results like Jesus. When you get to know prayer like this, you’ll love to pray! You’ll realize that you can actually effect changes and make things happen through prayer. Prayer becomes a powerful tool to bring God’s will to pass in your life, in the lives of others and in the nations of the world.

CONFESSION
My prayers are powerful and effective, imbued with the authority to cause changes in my life, my family, and my world. Every word I speak in prayer carries power and produces results. Thank you, Lord, for making me an agent of change, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

일부 사람들은 기도를 마음이 약하거나 무력하고 희망이 없는 사람들의 의지라고 생각합니다. 그러나 이는 명백한 오해입니다. 당신이 기도와 우리가 기도하는 이유를 이해한다면, 우리가 결코 약하거나 불리한 위치에서 기도하지 않는다는 것을 알게 될 것입니다. 우리는 단지 소망을 가지고 기도하지 않습니다. 우리는 변화를 일으키기 위해 기도합니다.

WE EFFECT CHANGES WHEN WE PRAY

“…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]” (James 5:16 AMPC).

Some people see prayer as the recourse of the weak-minded or of those who are helpless and hopeless. But that’s an outright misconception. When you understand prayer and the reason we pray, you’d realize that we never pray from a position of weakness or disadvantage; we don’t merely pray in hope. We pray to effect changes.
Prayer in the Kingdom of God goes far beyond hope, even though hope is a great virtue. In fact, the very act of prayer arises from hope. But when you begin to pray, you’re no longer simply demonstrating hope—you’re now effecting changes. God never wants us to be in a hopeless situation where we feel hamstrung and hedged in. We can do anything and change anything in His Name in the place of prayer.
When you study the Scriptures, you’d discover that each time God’s people prayed, miracles were wrought; adversities were turned into testimonies. It’s the same in our day; our prayers are effective. So, it makes no difference what the case is; pray! The Bible says the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails, much, it makes tremendous power available, dynamic in its working.
Pray according to the Word of God and exercise your authority and dominion in Christ. Use the Name of Jesus and change that seemingly hopeless situation. Whether you’re praying for yourself, a loved one, your nation, the salvation of souls, or the furtherance of the Gospel, pray with confidence knowing that you have a right to be heard by God. He told us to pray because He planned to answer. Hallelujah!
Never see prayer as a last resort or something we do because we’re out of wits or options; no! When we pray, we’re taking action. It’s our means of influencing situations and releasing the power of God to effect changes and establish God’s will in the earth. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege and power of prayer. My prayers are effectual, bringing about changes in my life and the lives of others as I exercise my spiritual authority over every situation and effect the will of the Father in my life, that of my loved ones, and in the nations of the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

마태는 자신의 글에서 예수님이 이사야가 예언한바, 즉 우리의 죄를 제거하기 위해 오셨음을 오늘의 본문 구절에서 알려줍니다. 예수님은 많은 사람을 위한 대속물로 자신의 생명을 주셨습니다. “너희 중에 누구든지 으뜸이 되고자 하는 자는 너희 종이 되어야 하리라 인자가 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니요 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라”(마 20:27-28) 대속물은 포로의 석방을 위해 지불해야 하는 대가입니다.
온 세상은 마귀에게, 죄에게 사로잡혀 있었고, 그로 인해 죄로 인해 죽을 수밖에 없었습니다. 예수님께서 우리가 죄로부터, 사탄의 지배로부터, 저주로부터, 영적 죽음으로부터 자유해지도록 값을 치르시기 전까지 우리는 마귀에게 합법적으로 사로잡혀 있었습니다. 우리는 영적 죽음의 속박 안에 있었고, 하나님으로부터 분리되어 있었으며, 소망이 없고, 세상에서 하나님 없이 살고 있었습니다. 그러나 예수님께서 당신의 생명을 위해 자신의 생명을 주셨을 때 모든 것이 변했습니다. 그분은 당신의 자유를 위한 대가였습니다.

HE WAS OUR RANSOM

“When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses” (Matthew 8:16-17).

Matthew, in his own writing, lets us know in the verses above that Jesus came to fulfil what Isaiah had prophesied: the removal of our sins. He gave His life as a ransom for many: “And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” A ransom is the consideration or what is demanded to be paid for the release of a captive.
The whole world was captive to the devil, captive to sin and therefore condemned to die because of sin. We were legal captives of the devil until Jesus paid for us to be free from sins, free from Satan’s dominion, and from under the curse, free from spiritual death. We were in the bondage of spiritual death and separated from God, having no hope and without God in the world. But all that changed when Jesus gave His life for your life. He was the price paid for your freedom.
The Bible says, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God…” (1 Peter 3:18). That is substitution. He gave Himself that you may be free to serve God and live for Him. He was sinless, holy, and righteous; and now you’re like Him; holy, righteous and sin-free. Colossians 1:21-22 says, “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight.” This is amazing.
Now you see why we so rejoice as Christians and are forever full of praise and joy! It’s because of this message of substitution; Jesus was our ransom! He took your place of sin that you may take His place of righteousness. He took your place of poverty, suffering and shame that you may have His life of glory, power, dominion and abundance. Blessed be God! So now what? Take your place in Christ! Live the life He’s given you—the life of glory and excellence. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for sending the Lord Jesus to take our place of sin, suffering, shame, and death, and give us His life of righteousness and glory, prosperity and victory. I declare that I am free from the dominion of sin and Satan. I walk in the glorious liberty of the sons of God, living a life of excellence, dominion, and abundance, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Christ Jesus Our Substitute

“하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라”(고후 5:21)

대속자라는 단어는 성경에 명시적으로 사용되지는 않았지만, 예수님께서 하러 오신 일을 정의하고 적절히 설명합니다. 이는 어떤 것 혹은 누군가를 다른 것으로 대체하거나, 다른 사람의 자리를 차지하거나, 다른 사람의 자리에 놓는 것을 의미합니다. 예수님께서 우리의 대속자가 되신다는 것은 우리가 그분의 자리를 차지할 수 있도록 그분께서 우리의 자리를 차지하러 오셨다는 뜻입니다. 얼마나 놀라운 일입니까! 어떤 종교 지도자도 그런 일을 한 적이 없습니다. 그 누구도 다른 사람을 위해 그런 일을 한 적이 없습니다. 그러나 예수님은 그렇게 하셨습니다.

이사야 선지자는 그의 시대에 비전 가운데 이것을 보았습니다. 아직 일어나지 않았음에도 그는 과거 시제로 말했습니다. 하나님의 생각 안에서는 이미 일어난 일이었기 때문입니다. 성경은 예수님을 창세 때부터 죽임을 당한 하나님의 어린양이라고 부릅니다. 할렐루야! 6절 후반부를 보십시오. “여호와께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다”
우리의 모든 죄는 예수님께로 옮겨졌습니다. 선지자가 본 것이 바로 그것입니다. 메시아가 인류의 모든 죄를 짊어지신 환상입니다. 8절을 읽어보십시오. “그는 곤욕과 심문을 당하고 끌려갔으나 그 세대 중에 누가 생각하기를 그가 살아있는 자들의 땅에서 끊어짐은 마땅히 형벌받을 내 백성의 허물 때문이라 하였으리요”(사 53:8) 결국 예수님께서 오셨을 때, 그분은 가야바의 심판을 받으셨고, 빌라도의 심판도 받으셨습니다. 그리고 그들은 예수님을 죽였습니다.
성경은 주님께서 그를 상하게 하시기를 원하셨다고 말합니다. 이는 하나님께서 그분의 영혼이 죄를 위한 희생 제물이 되도록 그분을 죽음에 내어주셨다는 뜻입니다. 예수님의 희생, 대속적인 사역은 우리를 낳았습니다! 그 점에 대해 생각해 보십시오! 우리가 오늘 그분의 이름으로 사는 것은 당연합니다. 우리는 그분의 의가 되었습니다. “하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라”(고후 5:21) 다음 말씀의 실재에서 더 나누도록 하겠습니다.

CHRIST JESUS OUR SUBSTITUTE

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

The word substitution, even though not expressly used in the Scriptures, defines and properly encapsulates what Jesus came to do. It means to replace something or someone with another, to take the place of another or put in another one’s place. Jesus being our substitute means He came to take our place that we might take His place. How wonderful that is! No religious leader ever did that; no one ever did that for anybody, but Jesus did.
Even the Prophets prophesied about this in the Old Testament; they prophesied about the sufferings of Christ and the glory that should follow (1Peter 1:11). The Prophet Isaiah for example, tells us in Isaiah 53:1, “…Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
The Prophet Isaiah saw this in a vision back in his day; it hadn’t happened yet but he spoke in the past tense because in the mind of God, it already happened. The Bible calls Jesus the Lamb of God that was slain from the foundation of the world. Hallelujah! Notice the latter part of the 6th verse: “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”
All our sins were laid on Jesus; that’s what the prophet saw—the vision of the Messiah bearing upon Himself the sins of all humanity. Read verse 8; it says, “He was taken from prison and from judgment…for the transgression of my people was he stricken.” Eventually, when Jesus came, He faced Caiaphas’ judgment; He faced Pilate’s judgment. Afterwards, they killed Him.
The Bible says it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; meaning it was God who gave Him up to die so His soul would be an offering for sin. His sacrifice, His substitutionary work, produced us! Think about that! No wonder we live in His Name today. We have been made His righteousness: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” We’ll learn more in our next study.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I’m so grateful for the gift of righteousness and the new life I’ve received through Christ’s substitutionary sacrifice. I live today in the victory of His finished work, fully conscious of my identity in Him. I walk in the light of this truth, declaring your glory and goodness to the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

우리의 무죄에 대한 공식적인 선언

“의로 여기심을 받을 우리도 위함이니 곧 예수 우리 주를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리신 이를 믿는 자니라 예수는 우리가 범죄한 것 때문에 내줌이 되고 또한 우리를 의롭다 하시기 위하여 살아나셨느니라”(롬 4:24-25)

이전의 말씀의 실재에서 우리는 하나님의 공평하심과 공정하심의 증거라는 것을 배웠습니다. 이것이 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 의가 된다는 의미입니다. 오늘의 본문 구절의 후반부는 특별한 내용을 알려줍니다. 이는 성경에서 가장 놀라운 구절 중 하나입니다. 예수 그리스도께서 우리의 범죄 때문에 내줌이 되시고, 우리의 용서가 아닌 의롭다 하심을 위해 다시 살아나셨다고 말합니다.
이는 인간의 생각으로 이해할 수 없습니다. 믿음을 초월하는 일입니다. 예수님은 우리의 범죄 때문에 죽음에 넘겨지셨고, 우리를 의롭게 하시기 위해 부활하셨습니다. 하나님께서 의로우시며 예수 그리스도를 믿는 사람을 의롭게 하시기 위함입니다. 어떻게 범죄자가 갑자기 의롭게 될 수 있습니까?
의롭게 함에 해당하는 그리스어는 “데키아오시스(Dekiaosis)”이며, 이는 무죄, 법적 혹은 공식적인 무죄 선언을 의미합니다. 이는 하나님께서 당신을 보시고 “너는 무죄다. 너는 어떤 죄에 대해서도 유죄가 아니다.”라고 말씀하셨다는 뜻입니다. 하나님께서 당신이 모든 죄를 용서받았다고 말씀하셨어야 했지만, “너는 무죄다.”라고 말씀하셨습니다. 이제 당신은 그리스도 안에서 값을 치렀고 더 이상 빚진 자가 아니고 용서받은 자유인으로 묘사되어야 하지만 우리가 받은 것은 그것이 아닙니다. 하나님께서는 당신이 무죄 판결을 받았다고 말씀하십니다. 기록을 확인했지만 당신이 죄를 지은 곳을 찾을 수 없었습니다. 따라서 당신은 공식적으로 무죄, 즉 유죄가 아님을 선포받았습니다. 하나님께서는 당신이 죄를 지은 적이 없다고 말씀하십니다. 어떻게 그런 일이 일어날 수 있습니까?
바로 이것이 복음, 즉 좋은 소식입니다. 어떤 사람들은 복음을 듣고도 이해하지 못합니다. 어떻게 내가 죄를 지은 적이 없을 수 있습니까? 이는 그리스도의 속량 사역의 결과입니다. 로마서 5:1은 말합니다. “그러므로 우리가 믿음으로 의롭다 하심을 받았으니 우리 주 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님으로 더불어 화평을 누리자” 우리는 믿음으로 의롭다 하심을 받았습니다. 그 이유를 아십니까? 당신은 거듭났고, 새로운 피조물이 되었기 때문입니다. 성경은 말합니다. “그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다”(고후 5:17) 새로운 피조물은 죄를 지은 적이 없습니다. 그는 이전에 존재한 적이 없는 완전히 새로운 종류의 존재이기 때문입니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!

기도
예수 그리스도의 부활은 나를 새로운 피조물, 그리스도 안에서 하나님의 의, 의롭고 죄 없는 존재로 만들었습니다. 나는 이 진리의 빛 가운데 행하며 하나님의 영광을 나타내고 다른 사람들에게 넘치는 은혜의 복된 소식을 전합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE FORMAL DECLARATION OF OUR INNOCENCE

“But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification” (Romans 4:24-25).

In our previous study, we learnt that we’re the proof of God’s fairness and impartiality. That’s what it means to be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Now the latter part of our opening scripture reveals something extraordinary; it’s one of the most mind-blowing verses of the Bible. It says Jesus Christ was delivered for our offenses, and raised back to life, not for our forgiveness, but for our justification.
This staggers the understanding of the human mind; it’s purely beyond belief. He was delivered to death for our offenses and raised for our justification so that He (God) might be just, and the justifier of the one who believes in Jesus Christ. How could an offender suddenly become justified?
The Greek word for justification is “Dekiaosis” and it means acquittal, a legal or formal declaration of innocence. It means God looked at you, and said “You’re innocent; you’re not guilty of any sin.” He should have said you’ve been forgiven of all sins, but He said, “You’re innocent.” Now it should have been that you paid in Christ and are not a debtor anymore; you should have been described as a free man who has been forgiven. But that’s not what we have here. God is saying, you have been acquitted; the records were checked and it wasn’t found where you sinned; therefore, you were formally declared innocent; not guilty. He’s saying you never sinned; how could that happen?
That’s what makes it Gospel—Good News. Some people hear it and don’t understand it. How is it that I never sinned? It’s the result of Christ’s redemptive work. Romans 5:1 says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” We’ve been declared righteous by faith; do you know why? Because you’re born again, you’re a new creature. The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). The new creation never sinned, because he’s a brand-new species that never existed before. Blessed be God!

CONFESSION
The resurrection of Jesus Christ has made me a new creature, the very righteousness of God in Christ, justified and sin-free. I walk in the light of this truth, manifesting the glory of God and spreading the Good News of His overflowing grace to others, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라”(고후 5:21)

우리가 방금 읽은 내용은 엄청납니다. 이는 그리스도인의 경험에서 탐험 되지 않은 고원 중 하나입니다. 저는 모든 그리스도인이 우리가 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 의가 되었다는 것이 무슨 뜻인지 이해하길 바랍니다. 이는 우리가 의롭게 되었다는 것과는 다릅니다. 이에 대한 그리스어 단어는 “디카이오수네(Dikaiosune)”이며, 공의, 공정성, 공평성의 특성을 의미합니다.
이는 우리가 하나님의 공평하심과 공정하심의 증거라는 뜻입니다. 우리는 하나님의 공평하심의 나타남입니다. 이는 정말 놀라운 일입니다! 에베소서 3:10이 말하는 바를 떠올려 보십시오. “이는 이제 교회로 말미암아 하늘에 있는 통치자들과 권세들에게 하나님의 각종 지혜를 알게 하려 하심이니” 이는 하나님께서 모든 통치자들과 권세들에게 그분이 공평하시다는 것을 판단할 증거로 우리를 가리키신다는 뜻입니다. 하나님께서는 우리를 그분의 선하심의 트로피로 자랑하십니다. 할렐루야!
당신이 로마서 3:21-26을 공부하면 이 내용을 더 잘 이해할 수 있을 것입니다. “이제는 율법 외에 하나님의 한 의가 나타났으니 율법과 선지자들에게 증거를 받은 것이라 곧 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암아 모든 믿는 자에게 미치는 하나님의 의니 차별이 없느니라 모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 속량으로 말미암아 하나님의 은혜로 값없이 의롭다 하심을 얻은 자 되었느니라 이 예수를 하나님이 그의 피로써 믿음으로 말미암는 화목제물로 세우셨으니 이는 하나님께서 길이 참으시는 중에 전에 지은 죄를 간과하심으로 자기의 의로우심을 나타내려 하심이니 곧 이 때에 자기의 의로우심을 나타내사 자기도 의로우시며 또한 예수 믿는 자를 의롭다 하려 하심이라”
이 점에 대해 생각해 보십시오! 하나님께서는 죄인을 의롭게 하시면서 동시에 스스로 의로우심을 나타내십니다. 하나님께서 어떻게 죄인을 의롭게 하실 수 있습니까? 우리가 어떻게 하나님의 의가 되었습니까? 우리가 어떻게 하나님의 공의의 증거가 되었습니까? 다음 말씀의 실재에서 더 살펴보겠습니다.

고백
나는 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님의 의, 공의, 정의, 선하심의 살아있는 증거입니다. 아버지, 나를 하나님의 지혜의 표현으로 만드셔서 하나님의 이름에 영광을 돌리게 하시니 감사합니다. 나는 이러한 이해 안에서 행하며, 하나님의 의를 나타내고, 세상에 하나님의 공의를 나타냅니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HIS FAIRNESS AND IMPARTIALITY

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

What we just read is so huge; it’s one of the unexplored tablelands in the Christian experience. I would to God every Christian understood what it means for us to be called the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus It’s different from us being made righteous; the Greek word there is “Dikaiosune” and it means equity, the quality of fairness or impartiality.
What this means is that we’re God’s proof of His fairness and impartiality. We’re the manifestation of His equity. This is so wonderful! Recall what the Bible says in Ephesians 3:10, “To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God.” It means that God points to us as evidence to all principalities and powers to judge that He is fair; He shows off with us as trophies of His goodness. Hallelujah!
When you study Romans 3:21-26 you’d understand this better. That portion says, “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”
Think about that! God proves Himself to be just, while He justifies the sinner. How can He justify the sinner? Why are we His righteousness? Why are we His proof of His equity? We’ll learn more in our next study.

CONFESSION
I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, a living proof of God’s fairness, justice and goodness. Thank you Father for making me the expression of your wisdom, to the glory of your Name; I walk in this understanding, showing forth your righteousness and manifesting your equity to the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
