Don’t Leave Them Hanging
“갓난 아기들 같이 순전하고 신령한 젖을 사모하라 이는 그로 말미암아 너희로 구원에 이르도록 자라게 하려 함이라”(벧전 2:2)
기독교에는 그리스도인의 삶의 방식이 있습니다. 그러나 기독교 자체가 삶의 방식은 아닙니다. 그러므로 우리가 영혼들을 그리스도께 인도할 때, 그들이 지역 교회에 적극적으로 참석할 수 있게 안내하는 것이 중요합니다. 우리는 그들이 지역 교회의 중요한 구성원이 되도록 해야 합니다. 처음 받은 믿음을 혼자 탐색하도록 내버려두지 말고, 그들을 그리스도인의 삶의 방식으로 양육해야 합니다.
그들이 구원을 받았다면, 구원받는 것은 단지 시작일 뿐이라는 것을 알려주십시오. 그들은 그리스도인의 삶을 살아야 합니다. 그리고 그들이 그 삶을 배우고 자라나는 유일한 방식은 하나님의 말씀을 배우는 것입니다. 디모데전서 3:15은 말합니다. “… 이 집은 살아 계신 하나님의 교회요 진리의 기둥과 터니라” 따라서 교회는 하나님의 말씀을 배우는 곳입니다.
이는 사도 베드로가 베드로전서 2:2에서 말한 내용을 생각나게 합니다. “갓난 아기들 같이 순전하고 신령한 젖을 사모하라 이는 그로 말미암아 너희로 구원에 이르도록 자라게 하려 함이라” 어린이들은 어떻게 배웁니까? 그들은 가르침으로만 배우는 것이 아니라 관찰을 통해서도 배웁니다. 영적 어린 아이 혹은 “아기”는 교회에 적극적으로 참여하며 성숙한 그리스도인의 태도와 행동을 관찰하고 모방합니다.
이는 그들이 기도하는 방식을 배우고, 바른 기도의 태도와 영을 발전시키는 방법입니다. 또한 그들은 교회에서 어떻게 하나님을 경배하고 바른 찬양을 하는지, 어떻게 예의 바르게 행동하는지, 어려운 도전을 직면했을 때 어떻게 믿음을 적용하는지 배웁니다.
이러한 일들을 배우는 것은 그저 가르침만으로는 되지 않으며, 믿음 안에 있는 다른 그리스도인들의 태도, 말, 행동을 관찰하며 배우게 됩니다. 동일한 성령님이 그들 안에 거하시며 우리가 하는 일들을 그들도 할 수 있게 하십니다. 그러므로 당신이 영혼을 구원하면 그들이 지역 교회에 완전히 접붙여지게 하십시오. 그들을 위해 기도하십시오. 그들이 믿음에 뿌리를 내리고, 말씀 가운데 세워지도록 그들을 지속해서 점검하십시오. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 오늘 전 세계에서 새롭게 영접한 모든 사람을 위해 기도합니다. 그리스도께서 그들의 심령에 자리 잡으셔서, 그들이 하나님의 강력한 사랑 안에 뿌리를 내리고 터를 잡고, 오직 그리스도 안에만 그들의 기쁨과 완전한 성취가 있음을 알도록 기도합니다. 나는 그들이 이 땅에서 그리스도의 사랑과 진리의 효과적인 증인이 될 수 있도록 강건케 되었음을 선포합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

DON’T LEAVE THEM HANGING
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2).
In Christianity, there’s a Christian way of life. But Christianity itself is not a way of life. Therefore, when we lead souls to Christ, it’s important to guide them to be actively involved in a local church. We must ensure they become integral members of a church, not leaving them to navigate their newfound faith alone. They must be nurtured in the Christian way of life.
Once they receive salvation, show them that receiving salvation is only the beginning; they have to live the Christian life. And the only way they’re going to learn it and grow as they should is by learning God’s Word. 1 Timothy 3:15 says, “…the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” So, the Church is the place to learn the Word of God.
It brings to mind what the apostle Peter said in 1 Peter 2:2: “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” How do children learn? Children learn not just by instruction but also by observation. By actively participating in the church, spiritual children or “babes” can observe and emulate the attitudes and practices of mature Christians.
It’s one of the ways they know how to pray and cultivate the right attitudes and spirit of prayer. Also, in church, they learn how to worship God, and sing the right songs; they learn how to conduct themselves with decency; they learn how to apply their faith in the face of belligerent challenges.
Learning how to do these things isn’t just by instruction alone, it also comes through observing the behaviour, communication, and actions of other Christians in the Faith. The same Spirit lives in them and causes them to do the things that we do. So, when you win souls, ensure that they’re fully engrafted into the local church. Pray for them; follow them up until they become rooted and grounded in the faith, and established in the Word. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I pray for new converts all over the world today, that Christ be formed in their hearts; they’re rooted and grounded in God’s overwhelming love, being fully persuaded that in Christ alone lies their joy and total fulfilment. I declare that they’re strengthened to become effective witnesses of Christ’s love and truth in the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
