예수님 – 참 하나님이시며 영원한 생명이신 분

“영생은 곧 유일하신 참 하나님과 그가 보내신 자 예수 그리스도를 아는 것이니이다”(요 17:3)
우리가 예수 그리스도의 탄생을 축하할 때, 영생의 의미와 중요성을 완전히 이해하는 것이 중요합니다. 영생이 예수님이 가져오신 생명이므로 우리는 그 생명이 의미하는 바를 절대적으로 알아야 합니다. 그렇다면 영생이란 무엇입니까?
영생이 의미하는 바를 이해하려면 먼저 성경이 하나님, 예수 그리스도의 신성, 우상 숭배, 생명 자체에 대해 말하는 내용을 이해해야 합니다. 많은 사람들이 영생이 하나님의 생명이자 본성이라고만 알고 있습니다. 그러나 저는 당신에게 영생에 대한 명확한 정의를 알려드리겠습니다. 영생은 신성의 유기적이고 실존적인 속성입니다.
위에서 언급한 여러 단어들 사이에 신이라 불리는 다른 존재들과 우리 하나님을 구별하는 모든 요소들이 있습니다. 그 속성들은 유기적이어야 하고 실존적이어야 합니다. 그리고 당신은 그러한 속성들이 예수 그리스도 안에서 표현된 것처럼 아브라함, 이삭, 야곱의 하나님 안에서만 찾을 수 있습니다.
우리가 하나님을 볼 수 없기 때문에 무엇이든 주장할 수 있습니다. 우리는 “오, 하나님” 하고 그분을 부를 수도 있습니다. 그러나 당신이 그분을 볼 수 없다면 대체 그분은 어떤 분이십니까? 그래서 많은 사람들이 생각하는 대로 돌, 나무, 혹은 다른 무언가로 그분을 표현해왔습니다. 그러나 우리 하나님은 실재하시고 참되십니다.
예수님이 존재하지 않는다고 주장하는 사람들이 있을 수도 있지만, 그분은 예수 그리스도로 우리에게 오셨습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라”(요 1:14)
예수님은 바로 하나님이십니다. 할렐루야! 그리고 예수님은 영생이십니다. “또 아는 것은 하나님의 아들이 이르러 우리에게 지각을 주사 우리로 참된 자를 알게 하신 것과 또한 우리가 참된 자 곧 그의 아들 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 것이니 그는 참 하나님이시요 영생이시라”(요일 5:20) 요한일서 1:2은 말합니다. “이 생명이 나타내신 바 된지라 이 영원한 생명을 우리가 보았고 증언하여 너희에게 전하노니 이는 아버지와 함께 계시다가 우리에게 나타내신 바 된 이시니라”

사랑하는 아버지, 내 영에 당신의 성품을 계시해 주시니 감사드립니다. 나는 당신의 무한한 사랑에 압도됩니다. 당신의 생명에 참여할 수 있는 특권과 축복을 주시고, 이 땅에서 당신의 찬양과 의를 나타낼 수 있게 해 주셔서 감사합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

JESUS—THE TRUE GOD AND ETERNAL LIFE
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent”(John 17:3).
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, it’s important for us to grasp the full import and meaning of eternal life. The fact that that’s the life that Jesus brought makes it absolutely imperative that we know what it means. What then is eternal life?
To understand what it means, you’d have to first understand what the Scripture says about God, about the divinity of Jesus Christ, idolatry, and life itself. Many have only known eternal life to be the life and nature of God. But I’ll give you a definition that clarifies it. Eternal life is the organic and existential attributes of deity.
In those few words, you have the distinguishing factors—everything that separates our God from all others that may be called gods. These attributes must be organic, and they must be existential. And you can only find that in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as expressed in Jesus Christ.
That is what makes it beautiful because we don’t see Him, and so we could claim anything. We could say, “Oh God,” we can call him God. But who is He when you don’t see him? That is why many have represented God with whatever they think He is—stones, wood, or some materials and shape; but our God is real and true.
Some people may argue that He doesn’t exist, but He came to us in Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).
Jesus is Himself, God. Hallelujah! And He is eternal life: “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” (1 John 5:20). 1 John 1:2: “For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us.”
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the revelation of your personality to my spirit; I’m overwhelmed by your boundless love. I thank you for the privilege and blessing to be a partaker of your life, and show forth your praises and express your righteousness in the earth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
