Learn To Respond To His Promptings

“여호와께서 임하여 서서 전과 같이 사무엘아 사무엘아 부르시는지라 사무엘이 이르되 말씀하옵소서 주의 종이 듣겠나이다 하니”(삼상 3:10)

사무엘은 어렸을 때부터 엘리 제사장에게 하나님의 음성에 반응하는 방법을 배웠습니다. 하나님께서는 세 번이나 사무엘의 이름을 부르셨는데, 그때마다 사무엘은 엘리가 자신을 부르는 줄 알고 그에게 달려갔습니다.

그 소년이 처음 자신의 이름을 듣고 엘리에게 달려갔을 때부터 하나님은 그를 막으시고 “사무엘아, 엘리에게 가지말라. 내가 너를 부르고 있다.”라고 말씀하실 수도 있었습니다. 하지만 하나님은 그렇게 하지 않으셨습니다. 하나님은 그런 방식으로 움직이시는 분이 아니기 때문입니다. 오히려 하나님은 사무엘이 가도록 두셨고, 엘리에게 훈련의 책임을 주셨습니다.

저는 사역 초창기에 이러한 것들을 배우며 주님께 “하지만 모든 사람들은 주님의 음성을 알아야 합니다.”라고 말씀드렸던 기억이 납니다. 하지만 주님께서는 “아니다. 내 성숙한 양들이 나의 음성을 아는 것이다. 어린 양들은 그저 다른 양들을 따라간다. 어린 양은 아직 목자의 음성을 모르기 때문이다.”라고 대답해 주셨습니다. 얼마나 가르침을 주는 말씀인지요!

주 예수님께서는 베드로에게 “내 어린 양을 먹이라”고 말씀하셨다는 것을 기억하십시오. 그리고 “내 양들을 치라”고 말씀하셨습니다. 어린 양들은 다 큰 양들과 다르기 때문입니다. 그들은 “아기들”이므로 가르침을 받아야 합니다.

당신이 하나님의 말씀을 공부할 때 하나님께서는 당신에게 말씀하고 계신 것입니다. 하지만 당신은 그분께 응답해야 합니다. 예를 들어, 성경을 읽을 때 단순히 글자를 읽거나 인용만 하지 마십시오. 그 말씀에 반응하십시오! 갈라디아서 5:24을 예로 들어보겠습니다. “그리스도 예수의 사람들은 육체와 함께 그 정욕과 탐심을 십자가에 못 박았느니라” 그저 읽거나 인용만 하지 마십시오. “나는 그리스도의 것이고, 하나님께 속해 있다. 그러므로 나는 육체와 함께 정욕과 탐심을 십자가에 못 박았다. 나는 세상을 이겼다!”고 말하며 반응하십시오. 언제나 하나님과 그분의 말씀에 응답하십시오. 당신의 반응으로 당신은 축복받습니다.

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 당신의 말씀은 내 발에 등이요 내 길에 빛입니다. 나는 당신의 음성을 듣고 분별합니다. 나는 당신의 인도와 음성과 조언에 예민하게 주의를 기울입니다. 나는 믿음으로 응답하며, 나의 생각과 말과 행동은 일치합니다. 나는 언제나 승리 가운데 걷습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

LEARN TO RESPOND TO HIS PROMPTINGS

“And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth” (1 Samuel 3:10).

Samuel, as a young man, was taught by Eli, the priest how to respond to God’s voice. God called Samuel by name three different times and on each of those occasions, Samuel thought it was Eli that was calling him and ran to Eli.

From the first time the boy heard his name and ran to Eli, God could have stopped him and said, “Samuel, don’t go to Eli, I’m the one calling you.” He didn’t do that because that’s not how He operates. Rather, He let him go and left the responsibility of the training to Eli.

In my early days in the ministry, while still learning these things, I remember saying to the Lord, “But everybody ought to know your voice.” His answer was, “No. It’s my sheep that know my voice. The lambs follow the bidding of the sheep, because they don’t know the voice of the shepherd.” How instructive!

Remember, the Lord Jesus said to Peter, “Feed my lambs.” He also said, “Feed my sheep.” That’s because the lambs are different from the sheep; they’re “babies” and that’s why they have to be taught.

When you study His Word, He talks to you, but you have to respond to Him. For example, when you read the Scriptures; don’t just read or quote them; respond! Take Galatians 5:24 as an example; it says, “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” Don’t merely read and quote it; respond by saying: “I am Christ’s, I belong to God; therefore, I’ve crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts; I’ve overcome the world!” Always respond to God and to His Word; your response is where your blessing is.

PRAYER

Dear Father, your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. I hear and discern your voice. I’m sensitive and attentive to your guidance, promptings and counsels. I respond in faith, and my thoughts, words and actions are aligned with your will always. I walk in victory continually, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Essence Of Christ In You

“그러므로 너희가 그리스도와 함께 다시 살리심을 받았으면 위의 것을 찾으라 거기는 그리스도께서 하나님 우편에 앉아 계시느니라 위의 것을 생각하고 땅의 것을 생각하지 말라 이는 너희가 죽었고 너희 생명이 그리스도와 함께 하나님 안에 감추어졌음이라”(골 3:1-3)

오늘의 본문 구절은 우리가 지금 그리스도 안에서 갖고 있는 생명을 이해하도록 도와줍니다. 우리가 가진 생명은 부활의 생명입니다. 기억하십시오. 예수님께서 십자가에 죽으셨을 때 우리도 그분과 함께 죽었습니다. 우리는 그분과 함께 장사되었고, 하나님께서 예수님을 일으키셨을 때, 우리도 그분과 함께 살아났습니다.

당신이 부모로부터 태어났을 때 가지고 있던 인간 생명은 죽었습니다. 이제 당신은 새 생명, 곧 그리스도를 얻었습니다! 그리스도가 당신의 생명입니다. 할렐루야!

성경은 말합니다. “우리 생명이신 그리스도께서 나타나실 그 때에 너희도 그와 함께 영광 중에 나타나리라.”(골 3:4) 정말 대단한 진리입니다. 즉, 당신이 평범한 사람이 아니라는 뜻입니다. 그리스도가 당신의 생명이라면 어떻게 아플 수 있습니까? 그리스도가 당신 안에 사시는데 어떻게 간, 심장, 신장에 문제가 생길 수 있습니까? 당신이 안으로부터 그리스도로 힘을 얻고 그분의 지혜로 인도받고 있는데 어떻게 실패하거나, 패배하거나, 어리석게 행동할 수 있습니까?

자주 이렇게 담대하게 선포하십시오. “그리스도가 나의 생명이다!” 당신 안에 계신 그리스도는 세상에서는 감춰져 있는 비밀이지만, 그리스도인에게는 삶의 본질이자 영광입니다. 이 비밀은 만세와 만대로부터 감추어진 것이었지만, 이제 그 비밀이 드러났습니다. “이 비밀은 만세와 만대로부터 감추어졌던 것인데 이제는 그의 성도들에게 나타났고 하나님이 그들로 하여금 이 비밀의 영광이 이방인 가운데 얼마나 풍성한지를 알게 하려 하심이라 이 비밀은 너희 안에 계신 그리스도시니 곧 영광의 소망이니라.”(골 1:26-27)

고백

나는 이 세상의 기초와 한계에 굴복하지 않습니다. 나는 그리스도 안에 살고 있고, 그리스도는 나의 생명이기 때문입니다. 그분은 내 존재의 모든 조직, 내 몸의 모든 뼈, 내 혈액의 모든 세포 안에 계십니다! 나는 예수 이름으로 모든 상황을 다스리고 통치하며, 모든 악과 해로움으로부터 보호받습니다. 나는 하늘의 영역에서 그리스도와 함께 앉아있기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!

THE ESSENCE OF CHRIST IN YOU

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:1-3).

Our opening verse helps to paint a picture of the life we have now in Christ. It’s the resurrection life. Remember, when He died on the cross, we died with Him. We were buried with Him, and when God raised Him up, we were raised together with Him.

The human life you had when you were born of your parents is dead; you have a new life now—CHRIST! Christ is your life. Hallelujah!

The Bible says, “When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory” (Colossians 3:4). This is mind-blowing. This means you’re not an ordinary person. How could you be sick when Christ is your life? How could anything be wrong with your liver, heart, or kidney when Christ lives in you? How could you fail, be defeated, or act foolishly when you’re powered from within by Christ and guided by His wisdom?

Every so often, boldly declare: “Christ is my life!” Christ in you is a mystery to the world, but it is the essence and glory of the Christian life. The mystery was hidden from ages and generations, but now, it’s been revealed: “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:26-27).

The essence of Christ in you is Christ is your life. You’re not subject to the rudiments and limitations of this world; you have the Christ-life, the divine nature. Blessed be God!

CONFESSION

I’m not subject to the rudiments and limitations of this world, because I live in Christ and Christ is my life. He’s in every fibre of my being, in every bone of my body, and in every cell of my blood! I reign and rule over circumstances in His Name, shielded from all evil and harm because I’m seated together with Christ in the heavenly realms. Hallelujah!

오직 하나님만 신뢰하고 의지하십시오

Trust And Rely On God Alone

“너는 마음을 다하여 여호와를 신뢰하고 네 명철을 의지하지 말라”(잠 3:5)

불완전한 인간 시스템으로 가득 찬 세상에서, 우리의 신뢰를 이러한 오류가 있는 체계에 두지 않고 주님을 전적으로 신뢰하는 것이 중요합니다. 인간 시스템의 실패와 한계는 우리의 궁극적인 신뢰가 전적으로 신뢰할 수 있는 분, 즉 주님께 있어야 함을 상기시켜 줍니다.

얼마 전, 부당한 유죄 판결을 내린 주 정부를 고소할 계획인 한 남성에 대한 뉴스가 방송되었습니다. 그는 자신이 저지르지도 않은 범죄로 인해 37년의 긴 세월 동안 감옥에 있었습니다. 정말 끔찍한 일입니다.

정부의 무능함과 시스템의 실패의 결과로 저지르지도 않은 범죄 때문에 감옥에 갇혀 있는 사람들이 있습니다. 인간은 자연스럽게 무언가 혹은 누군가에게 의지하고 신뢰하고 싶어합니다. 우리는 믿음 없이 살도록 설계되어 있지 않습니다. 우리는 믿음 혹은 신뢰를 갖도록 만들어졌습니다.

그러나 인간은 틀릴 수 있기 때문에 인간의 시스템 역시 틀리기 쉽습니다. 당신이 살고 있는 나라 혹은 사회의 시스템과 체계가 얼마나 좋고 견고한지는 중요하지 않습니다. 그것들은 여전히 틀릴 수 있습니다. 오직 하나님만 신뢰하고 의지하십시오. 그분의 말씀을 따르고 행하십시오.

왕국의 원칙, 시스템, 체계를 신뢰하십시오. 예레미야 선지자는 성령의 감동으로 다음과 같이 기록했습니다. “그러나 무릇 여호와를 의지하며 여호와를 의뢰하는 그 사람은 복을 받을 것이라 그는 물 가에 심어진 나무가 그 뿌리를 강변에 뻗치고 더위가 올지라도 두려워하지 아니하며 그 잎이 청청하며 가무는 해에도 걱정이 없고 결실이 그치지 아니함 같으리라”(렘 17:7-8)

그리고 시편 기자는 시편 37:3에서 “여호와를 의뢰하고 선을 행하라 땅에 머무는 동안 그의 성실을 먹을 거리로 삼을지어다”(시 37:3)라고 말했습니다. 무너지기 쉽고 결함이 있는 인간 체계 대신 하나님을 완전히 의지하십시오. 그분은 절대 실패하지 않으십니다. 그분은 의로우시며, 공정하시고, 신실하시고, 참되십니다. 마음을 다해 그분을 신뢰하십시오.

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 당신과 당신의 절대적으로 확실한 말씀을 신뢰합니다. 나는 당신의 지혜와 명철을 의지하며 전적으로 당신을 신뢰합니다. 주님, 날마다 승리하고 당신의 영광과 의를 나타내도록 나에게 분별력과 지혜를 주시니 감사합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

TRUST AND RELY ON GOD ALONE

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

In a world filled with imperfect human systems, it’s crucial to shift our trust from these fallible structures and wholly trust in the Lord. The failures and limitations of human systems serve as reminders to us that our ultimate trust should be in the One who is completely reliable—the LORD!

Sometime ago, news aired of a man who was planning to sue his state government for being wrongfully convicted. He endured 37 long years in prison for a crime he never committed. It’s truly disheartening to think about it.

There’re others who have remained behind bars for crimes they didn’t commit as a result of the failure and inadequacies of the system and their government. Humans naturally feel the need to trust and depend on something or someone. We weren’t designed to be faithless; we were meant to have faith or to be trusting.

However, because humans are fallible, systems run by individuals are also prone to failure. It makes no difference how lofty or robust you think the systems and structures of your nation or society are; it’s still fallible. Trust and rely on God alone. Follow and live by His Word.

Trust the principles, systems and structures of the Kingdom. The prophet Jeremiah, as inspired by the Spirit wrote: “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

Then in Psalm 37:3, the psalmist said, “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed” Cultivate absolute reliance on God instead of the frail or flawed human constructs. He never fails. He’s righteous and just, faithful and true. Trust Him wholeheartedly.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I place my ultimate trust in you and your infallible Word. I lean on your wisdom and understanding, and wholly depend on you. Thank you, Lord, for granting me the discernment and wisdom to live triumphantly every day and manifest your glory and righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“판결”을 선포하십시오

Affirm The “Decree”

“그들의 왕들을 사슬로 묶고 그들의 귀족들에게 쇠고랑을 채우며 그들을 위해 기록된 형벌을 시행하게 하라. 이것이 그의 모든 성도들의 영광이다. 너희는 여호와를 찬양하라.”(시 149:8-9, 우리말성경)

우리는 어둠의 왕국에 있는 주요한 영적 인물들에 대항하여 행동할 권세를 받았습니다. 예수님은 “믿는 자들에게는 이런 표적이 따르리니 곧 그들이 내 이름으로 귀신을 쫓아내며…”(막 16:17)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그리고 마태복음 18:18에서는 다음과 같이 말씀하셨습니다. “… 무엇이든지 너희가 땅에서 매면 하늘에서도 매일 것이요 무엇이든지 땅에서 풀면 하늘에서도 풀리리라”

그리고 주님은 오늘의 본문 구절에서 이렇게 말씀하십니다. “그들의 왕들을 사슬로 묶고 그들의 귀족들에게 쇠고랑을 채우며 그들을 위해 기록된 형벌을 시행하게 하라. 이것이 그의 모든 성도들의 영광이다. 너희는 여호와를 찬양하라.” 세상의 법원에서 범죄자에 대한 판결을 내릴 때 판사가 하는 일은 판결문을 읽어 주고 가는 것뿐입니다. 그러나 경찰은 그 판결문의 사본을 받아 이를 집행하기 위한 조치를 취합니다. 경찰은 범죄자를 체포하고 감옥에 가둡니다.

이제 영적인 영역에서 하나님의 성도들인 우리는 정사와 권세, 즉 “악의 왕들과 귀인들”에 대해 기록된 심판을 집행하도록 부르심을 받고 권세를 받은 자들입니다. 성경은 “그의 모든 성도에게 있도다”라고 말합니다. “그의 성도 중 몇 사람” 혹은 “오직 사도들과 전도자들만”이라고 말하지 않고 “그의 모든 성도”라고 말합니다. 할렐루야!

하나님께 반역한 자들에 대해 기록된 판결을 어떻게 집행합니까? 시편 기자는 우리에게 그 방법을 알려줍니다. “나 이제 주님께서 내리신 칙령을 선포한다…”(시 2:7, 새번역) 판결을 선포해야 합니다! 그래서 당신은 오늘날 우리 세상을 망치려고 하는 이 악한 영적 세력에 대해 어떤 판결이 내려졌는지 알아야 합니다.

판결 중 하나는 다음과 같이 말합니다. “이러므로 하나님이 그를 지극히 높여 모든 이름 위에 뛰어난 이름을 주사 하늘에 있는 자들과 땅에 있는 자들과 땅 아래에 있는 자들로 모든 무릎을 예수의 이름에 꿇게 하시고”(빌 2:9-10) 이것은 전능하신 하나님의 판결입니다! 이제 이 판결을 이 땅에 집행할 사람은 바로 당신입니다.

당신은 자신의 가정, 가족, 학교, 지역 사회, 동네, 나라에서 예수 이름으로 다스리는 사람입니다. 마귀에게 틈을 주지 마십시오! 예수 이름으로 세상을 다스리십시오. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 예수 이름에 있는 능력과 그 이름을 사용할 권세를 주셔서 감사합니다. 이제 나는 내 도시와 나라에 혼란과 폭력을 일으키는 악과 어둠의 귀신들에게 말합니다. 나는 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 사람들을 향한 사탄의 영향력을 끊어내고, 사탄의 책략과 계략이 멈춰지도록 명령한다! 아멘.

AFFIRM THE “DECREE”

“To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD” (Psalm 149:8-9).

We’ve been authorized to take action against the chief spiritual personalities in the kingdom of darkness. Jesus said: “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…” (Mark 16:17), and He also asserted in Matthew 18:18, “…Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Then He tells us in our theme verse to “…bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.” In the physical world, when the court has decided the case against a criminal, all that the judge does is read out his written judgment and go his way. But then the police take a copy of that judgment and go into action to execute it; they arrest the fellow and put him behind bars.

Now, in the realm of the spirit, we, the saints of God, are the ones called and authorized to execute the judgment that’s been written against principalities and powers, the “kings and nobles of evil.” The Bible says, “…this honour have all his saints.” It doesn’t say, “some of His saints” or “the apostles and evangelists only,” but “ALL His saints.” Hallelujah!

How do you execute the judgment that’s been written against these rebel holders-of-authority? The Psalmist tells us how; he says, “I will declare the decree…” (Psalm 2:7). You’ve got to declare the decree! But you need to know what decrees have been issued against these evil spiritual forces that are trying to run rampage in our world today.

One of the decrees says, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-10). This is a decree of Almighty God! Now, you’re the one to enforce this decree in the earth.

You’re the one to rule with the Name of Jesus in your world: in your home, your family, your school, your community, your streets, and your country. Give no place to the devil! Rule your world with the Name of Jesus. Glory to God!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the power vested in the Name of Jesus and for giving me the power of attorney to use that Name. Now I speak to the demons of evil and darkness that cause chaos and violence in my city and nation, I break your power over the people; I command you to cease from your operations and maneuvers over them in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen.

Understanding God’s Timing

“예수께서 이르시되 내 때는 아직 이르지 아니하였거니와 너희 때는 늘 준비되어 있느니라”(요 7:6)

오늘의 본문 구절에서 주 예수님은 시간에 대한 인식과 신성한 혹은 예언적 시기에 대한 중요성을 강조하셨습니다. 탄생부터 승천까지 예수님께 일어난 일들에 대한 예언적 계시들을 살펴보면, 모든 일들이 선지자들이 예언한 대로 정확하게 일어난 것을 알 수 있습니다.

우리는 시간을 초월한 왕국에 속했지만, 시간 관념이 있는 왕국에 살고 있습니다. 예수님은 “나는 위에서 났다”(요 8:23)고 말씀하셨습니다. 그분은 영원으로부터 오셨지만, 이 세상의 일들을 다루실 때는 시간을 인식하셨습니다. 우리는 자신이 살고 있는 때를 알아야 합니다. 우리가 하나님의 달력에서 어디에 있는지, 무엇을 해야 하는지, 무엇을 기대해야 하는지 알아야 합니다.

그렇다면 이어질 질문은 ‘어떻게 당신의 삶 혹은 열방에 대한 하나님의 때를 아는가’입니다. 일어나야 하는 일이나 우리가 기대해야 하는 일에 대해 어떻게 알 수 있습니까? 답은 성경, 하나님의 말씀 안에 있습니다! 말씀은 진리의 절대적인 원천입니다.

말씀을 부지런히 공부함으로써 당신은 하나님의 시간표에 자신을 맞추며, 목적과 의미가 있고 만족스러운 삶을 살 수 있습니다. 예를 들어, 지금이 하나님께서 당신과 열방에게 은혜를 베풀기로 정하신 때라는 것을 알고 있습니까? 성경은 우리가 그분의 은혜의 때에 있음을 알려줍니다. 시편 102:13은 “주께서 일어나사 시온을 긍휼히 여기시리니 지금은 그에게 은혜를 베푸실 때라 정한 기한이 다가옴이니이다”라고 말합니다.

열방은 바로 지금 하나님의 자비와 호의의 때에 있습니다. 이는 우리가 이 기회를 활용하여 모든 사람과 열방의 지도자들을 위해 기도할 수 있다는 것을 의미합니다. 우리가 기도하면 하나님은 응답하시기 때문입니다. 할렐루야!

UNDERSTANDING GOD’S TIMING

“Then Jesus said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready” (John 7:6).

In the verse above, the Lord Jesus emphasized time consciousness and the significance of divine and prophetic timing. When you look at the prophetic revelation of the things that happened with Jesus, from His birth to His ascension, everything unfolded precisely as the prophets had foretold.

We live in a time-conscious Kingdom even though we belong in a timeless Kingdom. Jesus said, “I’m from above” (John 8:23). He was from eternity, but in dealing with things of this world, He was time conscious. We have to know the time in which we’re living; where we are in God’s calendar, what we should do, and what we should expect.

The question then is, how do you know God’s timing for your life or for the nations? How do you know things that should happen, or what we should expect? The answers are in the Scriptures—God’s Word! That’s the absolute source of truth.

Through the diligent study of the Word, you can align yourself with God’s timing and live a purposeful, meaningful and fulfilling life. For example, did you know that this is God’s set time to favour you, and also the nations? The Scripture lets us know that we’re in His set time of favour. Psalms 102:13 says, “Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.”

Then in 2 Corinthians 6:2 NKJV, Paul reiterates God’s prophetic word to Israel which is applicable to the nations today: “For He says: In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you. Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”

This is the day of God’s favour, and we have to recognize it and act. It’s a day of opportunity; the day of salvation. The Apostle Paul called it the acceptable time. In other words, this is the day in which God accepts men, receives men, and helps men.

The nations are also right now in the day of God’s mercy and favour, meaning that we can take advantage of this opportunity and pray for all men and leaders of nations, because if we’d pray, God will answer. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the wisdom and guidance I receive from your Word. I have an understanding of the times; I have clarity and understanding of your purpose and timing and I’m walking in sync with the Spirit to fulfil my destiny in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

영적 죽음으로부터 태어났습니다

Born From Spiritual Death

“그는 몸인 교회의 머리시라 그가 근본이시요 죽은 자들 가운데서 먼저 나신 이시니 이는 친히 만물의 으뜸이 되려 하심이요”(골 1:18)

많은 사람들이 밑줄 친 부분을 죽은 자 가운데서 첫 번째로 살아난다는 의미로 오해합니다. 예수님의 대속적인 죽음 전에도 죽음으로부터 살아난 사람들이 있었습니다. 따라서 사도 바울이 성령으로 말미암아 말하는 내용은 그 오해와 다릅니다. 십자가에서 예수님이 우리 죄를 담당하셨을 때, 그분은 영적으로 죽으셨습니다. 영적 죽음은 하나님으로부터 분리되는 것입니다. 오직 영적 거듭남을 통해서만 영적 죽음으로부터 일어날 수 있습니다. 그러므로 예수 그리스도는 영적 죽음으로부터 태어난 첫 번째 분이십니다.

예수님은 십자가에 달리시면서 아버지와 분리되는 고통을 겪으셨습니다. “제구시에 예수께서 크게 소리 지르시되 엘리 엘리 라마 사박다니 하시니 이를 번역하면 나의 하나님, 나의 하나님 어찌하여 나를 버리셨나이까 하는 뜻이라”(막 15:34) 이는 예수님이 자동적으로 죄와 동일시되는 속죄 제물이 되신 결과였습니다. 고린도후서 5:21은 말합니다. “하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라”

예수님이 십자가에 못 박혀 지옥에 보내지는 것은 불법이어야 했습니다. 그분은 순결하시고 죄가 없으셨기 때문입니다. 그러나 예수님은 우리를 대신해서 가셨습니다. 골로새서 2:15에서 예수님이 지옥에서 사탄과 맞서 싸우시고, 사탄과 그의 어둠의 졸개들을 이기신 장면에 대한 묘사를 보십시오. “통치자들과 권세들을 무력화하여 드러내어 구경거리로 삼으시고 십자가로 그들을 이기셨느니라”(골 2:15)

이제 예수님은 당신을 그분의 의의 표현으로 삼으셨습니다. 그분이 입으신 의는 이제 당신에게 가능케 되었습니다. 그분이 당신을 위해 죽으셨고, 죽음에서 나오실 때 당신도 그분 안에서, 그분과 함께 나왔기 때문입니다. 이제 당신도 그분과 같이 새 생명으로 태어났습니다. “그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라”(롬 6:4) 할렐루야!

BORN FROM SPIRITUAL DEATH

“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:18).

Many misunderstand the underlined phrase above, thinking that it means the first to be raised from the dead. Prior to Jesus’ vicarious death, there were those who had been raised from the dead. So what the Apostle Paul communicates by the Spirit here, is different. When our sins were laid on Jesus on the Cross, He died spiritually. Spiritual death is separation from God. Only through a spiritual rebirth does one awake from spiritual death. Jesus Christ was thus the first born from spiritual death.

As Jesus hung on the Cross, He suffered the agony of being separated from the Father: “And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34). This was a result of His being made the sin sacrifice, which automatically identified with sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

It should have been illegal for Jesus to be crucified and sent to hell, because He was innocent and without sin, but He went in our place. Recall the graphic details in Colossians 2:15 when He engaged Satan in that awful combat in hell, and defeated him and all his cohorts of darkness: “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

No one ever came out of spiritual death or out of Satan’s bondage, but Jesus did. He paid the full penalty for every man. Thus, because a righteous man was given for sinners, it became legal, and possible, for sinners to be given His righteousness. He took our place of sin, that we might obtain His righteousness.

Now, He has made you the very expression of His righteousness. The righteousness that He was clothed with was made available to you, because He died for you, and when He came out of death, you came out in and with Him. Now, like Him, you’ve been born into a newness of life: “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the vicarious sacrifice of Jesus in my behalf, who became the very representation of sin and died in my place, so that I might be made righteous, and also become the expression of your righteousness. I walk in, and manifest your righteousness, today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

A Fresh Kind Of A New Breed

“그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다”(고후 5:17)

오늘의 본문 구절을 있는 그대로 헬라어로 번역한다면 “누구든지 그리스도 안에 있다면 그는 새로운 종이다!”입니다. 이제 막 시작된 새로운 생명만을 말하는 것이 아니라, 새로운 종류임을 뜻하기도 합니다. 즉, 거듭난 사람은 새로운 종, 새로운 유형의 사람이라는 의미입니다.

당신은 그저 같은 종류의 새로운 사람이 아닙니다. 당신은 이전에 존재하지 않았던 새로운 종류의 존재입니다. 당신은 새로운 종류의 새로운 사람입니다. 할렐루야! 주 예수님은 하나님과 같은 종류의 특별한 부류 가운데 처음 나신 분이십니다. 그분은 마지막 아담이십니다. 고린도전서 15:45-49을 공부해보면, 우리 모두가 아담의 형상을 따라 태어났다는 것을 알 수 있습니다.[혹은 둘째 사람(47절)]

이는 예수님이 요한복음 3:8에서 거듭난 사람에 대해 말씀하신 내용을 떠올리게 합니다. “바람이 임의로 불매 네가 그 소리는 들어도 어디서 와서 어디로 가는지 알지 못하나니 성령으로 난 사람도 다 그러하니라” 우리는 신성한 본성에 참여한 자들이며 하나님과 같은 종류의 존재입니다(벧후 1:4). 우리는 이 삶에서 통치하고 다스리기 위해 하나님으로부터 영원한 생명으로 태어난 자들입니다. 이 진리를 받아들이고, 그것을 인식하며 행하십시오.

고백

A FRESH KIND OF A NEW BREED

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The Greek rendering of the verse above actually reads, “If any man be in Christ, he is a new species of being!” This isn’t just referring to a new life that’s just begun, but also refers to newness in type. This means the one who’s born again is a new type of man, a new species.

You’re not just a fresh one of the same kind; rather, you’re one of a kind that never existed before. You’re a fresh kind of a new breed of man. Hallelujah! The Lord Jesus is the first among this special class of associates of the God-kind. He’s the last Adam, and when you study 1 Corinthians 15:45-49, the Bible lets us know that we all have been born after the similitude of the last Adam, (or second man -vs 47).

The Bible says, “…like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). You received a newness of life and it’s the God-life. This is the summary of the message of who the Christian is. Though your physical body remains the same, your spirit, which is the real you, is born anew with the divine life.

This new life is higher in quality than the human life because it’s eternal life. This new type of man isn’t subject to Satan, neither does he need deliverance from any oppression. He can’t be oppressed! This world hasn’t seen our type before. That’s why they can’t figure out who we really are.

It reminds of what Jesus said in John 3:8 about the one who’s born of again: “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” We’re partakers of the divine nature—comrades of the God-kind (2 Peter 1:4); born of God, born with eternal life, to rule and reign in this life. Brace up to this truth and walk in this consciousness.

CONFESSION

I’m a new creature; I have a special kind of life – different in type and quality from the human, animal, or plant life; it is the God-life! I live above the devil and his cohorts and above the rudiments of this world. I’m born of God, born with eternal life, to rule and reign in this life! Glory to God!

Don’t Forget What Species You Are

“모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로 교훈과 책망과 바르게 함과 의로 교육하기에 유익하니”(딤후 3:16)

하나님의 말씀은 우리를 하나님의 왕국의 일들로 이끌고, 인도하고, 가르치고, 훈련시킵니다. 그러나 말씀에 대해 더 중요한 사실은 하나님이 우리를 보시는 방식으로 스스로를 볼 수 있도록 하기 위해 말씀을 주셨다는 것입니다. 하나님의 말씀은 거울이기 때문입니다(고후 3:18).

당신이 하나님의 거울을 들여다볼 때, 하나님이 당신에 대해 가지고 계신 그림과 생각을 볼 수 있습니다. 하나님은 당신이 자신에 대한 정확한 그림을 지속적으로 가져가기 원하십니다. 그러면 당신은 자신이 어떤 존재인지 볼 수 있고, 그에 맞게 행동할 수 있습니다.

야고보서 1:22-25(한글흠정역)은 위와 동일한 중요하고 교훈적인 진리를 알려줍니다. “오직 너희는 말씀을 행하는 자가 되고 듣기만 하여 너희 자신을 속이는 자가 되지 말라. 말씀을 듣고 행하지 아니하는 자는 거울로 자기의 본래 얼굴을 들여다보는 사람과 같으니라. 그는 자기를 바라보고 자기 길로 가서 자기가 어떤 사람인지 곧 잊어버리거니와 누구든지 자유롭게 하는 완전한 법을 들여다보며 그 안에 거하는 자는 듣고 잊어버리는 자가 아니요, 그 일을 행하는 자니 이 사람은 자기가 행하는 일에서 복을 받으리라.”

말씀을 행하지 않는 사람은 “그가 어떻게 생겼는지”를 잊어버린다고 말하지 않고, 오히려 “그가 어떤 사람이었는지”를 잊는다고 말합니다. 다른 말로 하자면, 그는 자신이 어떤 “종류” 혹은 “유형”의 사람인지를 잊는 것입니다. 하나님의 거울인 하나님의 말씀은 당신의 외모만 보여주는 것이 아니라 당신이 어떤 “종류”인지 보여줍니다.

하나님의 말씀은 당신이 하나님의 종류에 속하며, 당신이 가진 생명이 하나님과 같은 종류의 생명임을 보여줍니다. 할렐루야! 당신이 해야 할 일은 하나님의 거울을 계속해서 변함없이 바라보고 자신이 누구인지 잊지 않는 것입니다.

고린도후서 3:18은 말합니다. “우리가 다 수건을 벗은 얼굴로 거울을 보는 것 같이 주의 영광을 보매 그와 같은 형상으로 변화하여 영광에서 영광에 이르니 곧 주의 영으로 말미암음이니라” 여기서 “보다”는 신중하게 고려한다, 시선이나 생각을 고정한다는 뜻의 헬라어 “카타노에오(katanoeo)”에서 번역되었습니다. 하나님의 말씀 안에서 바라보게 되는 자신의 형상을 신중하게 고려하고 그것에 생각을 고정할 때, 당신은 신성한 영광, 아름다움, 탁월함의 형상으로 변모됩니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

고백

나는 새로운 피조물이며 이전에 존재한 적이 없고 세상의 토대에 대해 죽은 새로운 종류의 존재입니다. 나는 말씀 안에서 본 신성한 영광, 아름다움, 탁월함의 형상으로 지속적으로 변모됩니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!

DON’T FORGET WHAT SPECIES YOU ARE

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16).

God’s Word has been given to us to lead, guide, instruct and train us in the things of the Kingdom of God. But even more importantly, God gave us His Word to enable us see ourselves the way He sees us. That’s because His Word is a mirror (2 Corinthians 3:18).

When you look into the mirror of God, you see the image that God has of you and what He thinks of you. He wants you to have and retain that exact image of yourself, so you can see who you are and act accordingly.

James 1:22-25 communicates the same important and instructive truth. It says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

It’s quite enlightening that it doesn’t say that the man who isn’t a doer of the Word forgets “what he looked like.” Rather, it says he forgets “what manner of man he was.” In other words, he forgets the “kind” or “type” of man that he saw. God’s mirror—His Word—doesn’t only show you your appearance; it shows you your “kind” or “species.”

God’s Word shows you that you’re in God’s class of being, and the life you have is the God-kind of life. Hallelujah! Your part is to keep looking steadfastly into God’s mirror and don’t forget what you look like; who you are.

2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” The word “beholding” is translated from the Greek, “katanoeō” which means to consider attentively; to fix one’s eyes or mind upon. As you consider attentively and fix your mind on the image of you that you see in God’s Word, you’re transformed into the same image of divine glory, beauty and excellence. Glory to God!

CONFESSION

I’m a new creation; a new species of being that never existed before—dead to the rudiments of the world! I’m constantly transformed into the same image of divine glory, beauty and excellence that I see in the Word. Blessed be God!

Righteous Use Of Your Finances

“그런즉 너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라”(마 6:33)

당신이 현재 당신의 재정으로 특히 하나님과 관련된 일들, 곧 복음 전파와 왕국의 발전을 위해 어떤 일을 하고 있는지가 당신의 재정이 백 배로 증가될 때 무슨 일들을 할 지 보여줍니다.

누군가는 “10억만 벌면 하나님의 왕국의 큰 재정 파트너가 될 거야!”라고 생각할 수 있습니다. 그렇다면 남은 질문은 ‘당신이 자신에게 맡겨진 작은 재정에 충실했는가?’입니다. 당신은 자신에게 맡겨진 작은 재정을 복음에 심었습니까?

예수님은 누가복음 16:10에서 세상에 있는 소유물을 관리하는 일에서의 신실함과 정직의 원리를 강조하셨습니다. “지극히 작은 것에 충성된 자는 큰 것에도 충성되고 지극히 작은 것에 불의한 자는 큰 것에도 불의하니라 너희가 만일 불의한 재물(부정직한 부, 돈, 소유물)에도 충성하지 아니하면 누가 참된 것(부, 재물)으로 너희에게 맡기겠느냐”(눅 16:10-11)

돈은 증폭기입니다. 돈은 사람의 성품을 드러내고, 증폭하고, 확대하는 독특한 능력을 가지고 있습니다. 당신이 오늘 돈으로 하는 모든 행동과 결정은 당신의 성품에 대한 증거이며, 그 기본적인 성품은 당신의 재정이 증가한다고 해서 바뀌지 않을 것입니다. 당신이 지금까지 해왔던 일을 더 많이 하게 될 뿐입니다.

이미 돈을 부정적인 방식으로 사용하는 사람들의 경우 더 많은 재정을 가지면 부정적인 행동이 증폭될 뿐입니다. 반대로 돈을 의로운 목적으로 사용하고, 복음에 심고, 왕국을 발전시키는 일에 돈을 사용하고 있다면 더 많은 돈을 가지게 될수록 그 선한 행동들이 증폭될 것입니다.

RIGHTEOUS USE OF YOUR FINANCES

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33).

Whatever you are currently doing with your finances, especially in relation to God, to the propagation of the Gospel, and the advancement of the kingdom, is a reflection of what you would do if your finances were multiplied a hundred times.

Someone might think, “Only if I could get a million dollars, I’ll be a big financier of the Kingdom of God!” The question is, have you been faithful with the little committed to you? Have you put that little in your trust, into the Gospel?

The Lord Jesus, in Luke 16:10, emphasizes the principle of faithfulness and integrity in managing worldly possessions when He said, “He who is faithful in a very little [thing] is faithful also in much, and he who is dishonest and unjust in a very little [thing] is dishonest and unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the [case of] unrighteous mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions), who will entrust to you the true riches?” (Luke 16:10-11 AMPC).

Money is an amplifier; it has the unique ability to amplify, magnify or reveal one’s character. Every action and decision you make with your money today is a testament to your character, and this fundamental aspect of your character will not change when your financial resources are increased. You will simply do more of what you have been doing.

For people who already use their money in negative ways, having more financial resources will only amplify those negative actions. Conversely, if you’re using your money for righteous purposes, seeding the Gospel, and advancing the Kingdom, having more money will amplify those good actions.

That’s why you need to examine your current financial behaviours; do they align with the principles of God’s Word? God is pleased to multiply the finances of those who are committed to His righteous cause. When you prioritize serving the Lord and His Kingdom, your actions with money become a testament of faithfulness. It is not about the amount of money you possess, but rather the alignment of your heart and intentions with God’s purposes.

By consistently prioritizing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and seeking His Kingdom above all else, you position yourself to experience God’s provisions and the multiplication of your resources. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I declare that I am a faithful steward of all that you have entrusted to me, and I use my finances in ways that honour and glorify you. My financial character is rooted in righteousness. I give generously, sowing seeds of blessing, and committed to the prosperity and advancement of the Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Urgency Of The Gospel

우리는 반드시 주님이 곧 오신다는 사실을 끊임없이 상기해야 합니다. 우리는 재림을 기다리는 사람으로서 열심히 일해야 합니다. 온 세상에 복음을 전하는 사람이 당신 한 명 밖에 없는 것처럼 복음 전파에 헌신하십시오.

THE URGENCY OF THE GOSPEL

“…preach the Word of God urgently at all times, whenever you get the chance, in season and out, when it is convenient and when it is not. Correct and rebuke your people when they need it, encourage them to do right, and all the time be feeding them patiently with God’s Word” (2 Timothy 4:2 TLB).

We must constantly remind ourselves that the Lord is coming soon. We must work hard as people who are living in expectation of the Lord. Commit yourself to spreading the Gospel as though it rested on you alone to tell it to the whole world. Be committed to it

We’ve got to use every opportunity to propagate the Gospel and advance the Kingdom of God. No one’s effort is insignificant. It doesn’t matter where you are; whether you’re in a big city or a small town, ten souls in a small village have the same value to God as ten souls in a big city. It’s the same Jesus Christ that died for them.

Where you are is God’s headquarters! God cares about where you are and what you do where you are. The message of salvation committed to us to preach is the only hope for salvation. Therefore, never be discouraged or distracted; preach it with urgency and conviction.

You’re the custodian of this glorious gospel; it’s your responsibility to preach it with the knowledge and power of the Spirit. Think and talk like Paul in the way he personalized the divine mandate to preach the Gospel. In 1 Timothy 1:11, the apostle Paul said, “According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.”

Notice the latter part; he didn’t say the Gospel which is committed to “our trust,” but to “my trust!” The Great Commission was personal to Paul. He ran with it as though it depended on him alone to preach the Gospel to the whole world. That’s how it ought to be. Be committed to the urgency of the hour. Preach the Gospel irrespective of the tests, trials, and persecutions that you might face while at it. Remember, the time is short.

PRAYER

Blessed be God for His unfathomable grace, wisdom and mercy lavished upon His Church to effectively proclaim the Gospel and establish His righteousness in all the earth in these last days! Thank you Father, for committing this glorious Gospel to my trust; I preach it in season and out of season, hauling many from darkness to light, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
