기쁨의 삶

It’s A Life Of Joy

“예수를 너희가 보지 못하였으나 사랑하는도다 이제도 보지 못하나 믿고 말할 수 없는 영광스러운 즐거움으로 기뻐하니”(벧전 1:8)

우리의 성령으로 충만한 삶은 상황에 관계없이 형용할 수 없는 기쁨으로 가득한 삶입니다. 말씀은 “하나님의 나라는 먹는 것과 마시는 것이 아니요 오직 성령 안에 있는 의와 평강과 희락이라.”(롬 14:17)고 선포합니다.

이것이 바로 하나님께서 우리에게 끊임없이 성령으로 충만하라고 말씀하신 이유입니다. “술 취하지 말라 이는 방탕한 것이니 오직 성령으로 충만함을 받으라.”(엡 5:18) 교회의 모든 성도들이 성령으로 충만하다고 상상해 보십시오. 모두가 의심과 두려움이 아닌 성령으로 충만한 모습을 그려보십시오. 그러면 당신은 진정한 기독교가 무엇인지 이해하게 될 것입니다. 기독교는 바로 기쁨의 삶입니다.

모든 사람들이 예배와 모임에 와서 기쁨으로 노래하고 하나님을 찬양하며 이와 같은 분위기를 어느 곳에나 가져간다고 상상해 보십시오. 모든 예배와 모임은 이런 모습이어야 합니다. 성령으로 충만할 때, 당신의 기쁨은 흘러 넘칩니다.

성경은 여호와를 기뻐하는 것이 당신의 힘이라고 말합니다(느 8:10). 기쁨으로 충만할 때, 당신의 영은 승리와 성공을 위한 힘을 지속적으로 얻을 것입니다. 기쁨은 만병통치약입니다. 이사야 12:3은 이렇게 말합니다. “그러므로 너희가 기쁨으로 구원의 우물들에서 물을 길으리로다.”

따라서 오늘날 세상에서 일어나는 일들과 관계없이 날마다 기쁨으로 충만하십시오. 그리고 영의 자유함 가운데서 기쁨을 표현하십시오.

사랑하는 아버지, 항상 승리하고 통치하는 삶을 위해 계속 성령으로 충만해지는 축복을 주시니 감사합니다! 나는 성령 안에서 살아가는 평안과 기쁨의 삶으로 인해 영원히 기뻐하고, 환희로 가득하고, 승리하고, 즐거워합니다. 모든 영광과 권세가 영원히 당신께 있습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

IT’S A LIFE OF JOY

“Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory” (1 Peter 1:8).

Our spirit-filled life is one of indescribable joy, irrespective of circumstances. The Word declares, “The kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit”(Romans 14:17).

It’s one of the reasons God tells us to be constantly filled with the Spirit: “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). Imagine if every member of the church is filled with the Spirit; not filled with doubt and fear but filled with the Spirit. Then you’d understand what true Christianity is; it’s a life of joy.

Imagine everyone coming into the church meetings singing and praising God with joy and carrying that same atmosphere everywhere. That’s how it ought to be. When you’re filled with the Spirit, your joy overflows.

The Bible says the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Your spirit will continually be energized for victory and success when you’re full of joy. Joy is an elixir. Moreover, the Bible says in Isaiah 12:3, “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.”

So, in spite of the things happening in the world today, be full of joy every day, and express it in the liberty of the spirit.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the blessing of being continually filled with the Spirit for an all-day, all-time life of victory and dominion! I’m forever joyful, jubilant, triumphant and delighted in the Spirit for a life of peace and joy in the Holy Ghost! To you be all glory and dominion forever, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

탁월한 성품

An Excellent Character

“바르게 살면 앞길이 평탄하지만 악하게 살면 인생이 고단하다. 훌륭한 인격은 최고의 보험이지만 사기꾼은 자기의 악한 탐욕에 걸려 넘어진다.”(잠 11:5-6, 메시지성경)

창세기 49장은 우리에게 야곱이 아들들에게 한 마지막 유언에 대한 통찰력을 보여줍니다. 야곱은 그의 맏아들 르우벤에게 그가 소유한 엄청난 잠재력을 언급합니다. 야곱은 르우벤을 자신의 맏아들이자, 자신의 능력, 또 강한 남성성과 기력의 시작으로 묘사하며, 르우벤이 받은 장자권이 그에게 위엄과 권능의 탁월한 위치를 주었음을 강조합니다.

하지만 야곱은 르우벤의 성품적 결함이 어떻게 모든 것을 파괴했는지 역시 강조합니다. “물의 끓음 같았은즉 너는 탁월하지 못하리니 네가 아버지의 침상에 올라 더럽혔음이로다 그가 내 침상에 올랐었도다.”(창 49:3-4)

이 때문에 장자에게 주어진 약속과 축복, 그리고 야곱의 힘이라는 칭호와 모든 아들 가운데 가장 자랑스럽고 강한 아들이라는 찬사에도 불구하고, 르우벤은 성취할 수 있었던 위대함을 얻지 못했습니다.

당신의 성품은 매우 중요합니다. 당신의 삶을 향해 선포된 예언과 그 예언을 말한 사람이 누구였는지 상관없이 당신의 성품은 예언을 망칠 수 있으며, 궁극적으로 당신의 삶 또한 망칠 수 있습니다. 르우벤의 성품이 그의 삶을 망쳤듯이 말입니다.

하나님의 갈망은 당신의 삶에 관한 예언이 모두 성취되는 것입니다. 하나님은 그분이 말씀하신 대로 당신을 향한 그분의 선한 말씀이 성취되기를 원하십니다.

하나님의 뜻에 따라 그분의 빛 안에서 신실하게 행하고 훌륭한 성품을 갖는 것은 정말 중요합니다. 이제 당신은 성령으로 말미암아 속사람을 능력으로 강건케 되도록 기도했던 에베소서 3:16에 등장하는 바울의 기도의 의미를 더 잘 이해할 수 있습니다. 할렐루야!

AN EXCELLENT CHARACTER

“Moral character makes for smooth traveling; an evil life is a hard life. Good character is the best insurance; crooks get trapped in their sinful lust “(Proverbs 11:5-6 MSG).

In Genesis 49, the Bible gives us insight into Jacob’s final words to his sons. In addressing his firstborn, Reuben, Jacob acknowledged the immense potential he possessed. He described him as his firstborn, his might, the beginning of his manly strength and vigour, and emphasized that his birthright gave him the pre-eminence in dignity and power.

However, Jacob highlighted Reuben’s character flaw and how it destroyed everything: “…Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch” (Genesis 49:3-4).

So, despite the promises and blessings associated with being the firstborn, and the encomiums of being Jacob’s strength, the proudest and strongest of all his sons, Reuben would not attain the greatness he could have achieved.

Your character as a person is very important. It doesn’t matter the prophecies that may have been spoken over your life and who gave them; your character can ruin prophecy, and ultimately, your life, just as Reuben’s character ruined his life.

God’s desire is for the prophecies spoken over your life to come to pass. He wants His good word concerning you to be fulfilled just as He has said. Your role is to recognize His lordship and behave correctly, walking in His righteousness.

How important it is to walk in alignment with God’s will, in His light faithfully, and have an excellent character. Now you can better understand the import of the Spirit’s prayer through Paul in Ephesians 3:16, for you to be strengthened with excellence by the Holy Spirit in your inner man. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I’m aligned with your will and walk in your light faithfully. I recognize the importance of character and living uprightly, according to your Word. Thank you for the wisdom to learn from the examples in Scripture and to make choices that honour you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

성령님께서 행하십니다

The Holy Spirit Does The Work

“내가 아버지 안에 거하고 아버지는 내 안에 계신 것을 네가 믿지 아니하느냐 내가 너희에게 이르는 말은 스스로 하는 것이 아니라 아버지께서 내 안에 계셔서 그의 일을 하시는 것이라”(요 14:10)

오늘의 본문 구절에서 주 예수님은 성령님에 대해 그분 안에 거하시는 아버지라고 말씀하셨습니다. 성령님이 바로 일을 “행하시는 분”입니다. 그렇습니다. 우리는 성령님을 볼 수 없으며, 우리의 감각을 통해 그분을 만지거나 교제할 수 없지만, 우리 안에 그리고 우리를 통해 나타나는 그분의 임재, 영향력, 사역은 매우 실제적이고 엄청납니다.

성령님은 하나님이십니다. 성령님은 하나님의 목소리이십니다. 성령님은 하나님의 확장된 영향력이십니다. 우리는 종종 그분이 우리에게 사역하실 때도 성령님이 하신 일임을 깨닫지 못합니다. 예를 들어, 예수님이 제자들에게 “사람들이 나를 누구라고 하느냐?” 물으실 때 그들은 확실하게 대답하지 못했습니다. 그러나 베드로는 “주는 그리스도시요 살아계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다.”(마 16:16) 라고 말했습니다.

베드로의 대답에 대해 예수님은 다음과 같이 말씀하셨습니다. “시몬아 이것을 네게 알게 한 이는 혈육이 아니요 하늘에 계신 내 아버지시니라.” 예수님이 어떤 분이신지 깨닫는 것은 계시가 필요하며, 이 계시는 하나님으로부터 주어집니다. 베드로는 이것이 하나님으로부터 주어진 지식임을 알지 못했습니다.

온 열방에 전하라고 우리에게 주어진 복음은 인간이 고안하여 만들거나, 받아들이거나, 깨달을 수 없는 것입니다. 세상 사람들은 복음을 받아들일 길이 없습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “십자가의 도가 멸망하는 자들에게는 미련한 것이요 구원을 받는 우리에게는 하나님의 능력이라.”(고전 1:18)

따라서 사람들이 복음을 받아들이기 위해서는 우리가 도움을 받아야 했던 것처럼 동일하게 성령님의 사역의 도움이 필요합니다. 시편 127편은 말합니다. “여호와께서 집을 세우지 아니하시면 세우는 자의 수고가 헛되며.” 우리는 모두 영혼구원자로서 이 진리를 의식해야 합니다.

성령님 없이 하나님의 교회를 세우려 한다면, 잘 되지 않을 것입니다. 그분은 추수의 주인이십니다. 성령님은 행하시는 분입니다. 요한복음 16:7-8(확대번역본)을 통해 영감을 주고 삶을 변화시키는 주 예수님의 말씀을 보십시오. “그럼에도 불구하고 내가 너희에게 진실을 말하노니 내가 떠나가는 것이 너희에게 유익하니라(좋으니라, 나으니라, 이로우니라). 내가 떠나지 않으면 위로자(상담자, 돕는 자, 변호자, 중보자, 능력 주는 자, 비상 대기자)가 너희에게 오지 않으시리라… 그분이 오셔서 죄에 대하여, 의(심령의 올바름과 하나님 앞에 설 수 있는 위치)에 대하여, 심판에 대하여 세상을 꾸짖으시리라.” 할렐루야!

기도

사랑하는 성령님, 당신께서 내 안에서 효과적으로 일하시는 분이심에 감사드립니다. 성령님은 나에게 아버지의 뜻을 바라며 행하게 하십니다. 나는 당신의 이끄심과 인도에 민감하게 반응합니다. 내 안에서 역사하시는 당신의 강력한 능력을 통해 모든 것을 할 수 있습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE HOLY SPIRIT DOES THE WORK

“Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works”(John 14:10).

The Lord Jesus, in the verse above, referred to the Holy Spirit as the Father that dwells in Him. He’s the “doer” of the works. Yes, we don’t see the Holy Spirit, and we can’t touch or relate with Him through our senses, but His presence, impact and ministry in, through and for us is so real and profound.

The Holy Spirit is God; the Holy Spirit is the voice of God. The Holy Spirit is the extension of God. Sometimes, even when He ministers to us, we don’t realize He’s the one. For example, when Jesus asked His disciples, “Whom do men say that I am?” In answering, they weren’t sure; but Peter said, “You’re the Christ, the son of the living God.”

The Lord’s response to Peter was, “Simon, flesh and blood didn’t reveal this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.” It takes a revelation to know who Jesus is, and that revelation is granted by God. Peter didn’t know it was a knowledge from God that was granted him.

The Gospel that we’re commissioned to take to the nations of the world is something that can’t be humanly devised, accepted and understood. There’s no way for an ordinary man to accept it. The Bible says, “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).

So, we need help from the ministry of the Holy Spirit for others to accept the Gospel just as we had to be helped to accept it. Psalms 127 says, “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it. We all must be conscious of this as soul winners.

If you’re trying to build the church of God without the Holy Spirit, it’s not going to work. He’s the Lord of the harvest. He does the work. Read the inspiring and life-transforming words of the Lord Jesus in John 16:7-8 AMPC: “However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you…And when He comes, He will convict and convince the world and bring demonstration to it about sin and about righteousness (uprightness of heart and right standing with God) and about judgment.” Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Holy Spirit, I thank you, for you’re the one who works effectually in me, to will and to do the Father’s pleasure. I’m sensitive to your leadership and guidance. I can do all things through your mighty power at work in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

모두에게 주시는 하나님의 놀라운 선물

God’s Awesome Gift To All

“하나님이 말씀하시기를 말세에 내가 내 영을 모든 육체에 부어 주리니 너희의 자녀들은 예언할 것이요 너희의 젊은이들은 환상을 보고 너희의 늙은이들은 꿈을 꾸리라”(행 2:17)

성령님이 그리스도인만이 아닌 온 세상을 향한 하나님의 영광스럽고 은혜롭고 놀라운 선물이자 축복임을 알고 계셨습니까? 성령님의 축복은 모든 육체에 부어지게 되어 있습니다. 세상 어느 누구도 성령님의 확신 없이는 예수 그리스도를 영접할 수 없습니다. 사도행전 16:14에서 루디아에게 하신 것 같이 우리가 복음을 전파할 때 사람들의 마음을 여시는 분은 성령님이십니다. “두아디라 시에 있는 자색 옷감 장사로서 하나님을 섬기는 루디아라 하는 한 여자가 말을 듣고 있을 때 주께서 그 마음을 열어 바울의 말을 따르게 하신지라.”

고린도전서 2:12은 말합니다. “우리가 세상의 영을 받지 아니하고 오직 하나님으로부터 온 영을 받았으니 이는 우리로 하여금 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 주신 것들을 알게 하려 하심이라.” 성령님을 통해 우리는 하나님께서 값없이 주신 축복을 알고 누립니다. 성령님은 우리가 신성한 유산과 하늘의 축복의 실재 안에서 행하도록 보살피십니다.

또한 하나님의 말씀을 이해하기 위해서는 성령님이 필요합니다. “그러나 진리의 성령이 오시면 그가 너희를 모든 진리 가운데로 인도하시리니…”(요 16:13) 성령님은 당신에게 왕국의 신비와 비밀을 드러내시고, 당신이 속지 않도록 보호하십니다. 당신은 진리 안에 살고 있습니다.

예수 그리스도가 하나님의 아들이라는 것을 깨닫기 위해서는 성령님이 필요합니다. 인간의 추론으로는 예수님의 신성을 알아낼 길이 없습니다. 예수 그리스도께서 처녀로부터 태어나셨다는 사실과 그분의 대속적 죽음, 승리의 부활, 그리고 영광스러운 승천을 이해하고 받아들이는 일에는 성령님의 도움이 필요합니다.

오직 성령님만 예수 그리스도의 보혈이 우리의 구원을 위해 합당했다는 것에 대한 확신을 주실 수 있습니다. 성령님 없이는 우리가 이 진리의 실재를 깨닫고 그 안에서 걸을 수 있는 방법이 없습니다. 이러한 실재를 해석할 수 있는 인간의 방법은 없습니다. 따라서 당신이 그리스도와 복음에 관한 진리를 받아들일 때는 성령님이 당신에게 사역하셨다는 것을 이해하십시오. 할렐루야!

성령님을 당신 안에 모시고 산다는 실재의 영향, 축복, 영광을 더욱 의식하십시오. 성령님은 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 특별한 선물이자 축복입니다. 당신의 삶에서 그분의 사역을 인식하고 증가시키십시오. 그러면 당신은 언제나 통치와 승리 가운데 걸을 것입니다.

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 내 삶에 놀라운 성령의 은사를 주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 그리스도 안에서의 나의 운명을 성취하기 위해 즐겁게 성령님의 인도를 따릅니다. 그 어느 때보다도 나는 성령님의 사역과 끊임없는 교제를 인식합니다. 성령님은 나를 하나님 왕국의 실재에 대한 더 깊은 이해와 경험으로 이끄십니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

GOD’S AWESOME GIFT TO ALL

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams”(Acts 2:17).

Did you know that the Holy Spirit is God’s glorious, gracious, awesome gift and blessing not just to us Christians but to the whole world? The blessing of the Spirit was to be poured upon all flesh. No one in the world could believe in Jesus Christ without the conviction of the Holy Spirit. It’s the Holy Spirit who opens the hearts of men to the Gospel that we preach, as He did with Lydia in Acts 16:14: “And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.”

1 Corinthians 2:12 says, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” Through Him, we know the blessings that are freely given to us by God and enjoy them. He sees to it that we walk in the reality of our divine heritage and heavenly blessings.

It also takes the Holy Spirit to give you the understanding of God’s Word: “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…” (John 16:13). He unveils the mysteries and secrets of the Kingdom to you and sees to it that you’re not deceived; you’re walking in truth.

It takes the Holy Spirit for you to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. There’s no way human reasoning can figure out the divinity of Jesus. It takes the Holy Spirit to help you understand and accept the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, His sacrificial death, His triumphant resurrection, and His glorious ascension.

Only the Holy Spirit can convince you that the blood of Jesus Christ was adequate for our salvation. Without the Holy Spirit, there’s no way we could have ever known and be able to walk in the reality of that truth. There’re no human parameters for deciphering such realities. So when you accept these truths about Christ and the Gospel, understand that the Holy Spirit has ministered to you. Hallelujah!

Become more conscious of the impact, blessing and glory of having the Holy Spirit live in you. He’s one of the extraordinary cardinal gifts and blessings of God to us. Recognize and encourage His ministry in your life and you’ll walk in dominion and victory always.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the awesome gift of the Holy Spirit in my life, and I willingly follow His guidance to fulfil my destiny in Christ. Now more than ever, I acknowledge His ministry and constant companionship and fellowship as He leads me in a deeper understanding and experience of the realities of the Kingdom of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Trust In The Lord

“너는 마음을 다하여 여호와를 신뢰하고 네 명철을 의지하지 말라 너는 범사에 그를 인정하라 그리하면 네 길을 지도하시리라”(잠 3:5-6)

사회는 신뢰를 기반으로 형성됩니다. 우리는 이 사회의 시스템과 구조를 신뢰해야 합니다. 겉으로 보여지는 사람들의 선한 모습을 신뢰해야 합니다. 하지만 맹목적으로 그렇게 할 수는 없습니다.

예를 들어, 법원은 때때로 비도덕적인 결정을 내리지만, 그럼에도 우리는 민사, 형사, 기타 사건에서 분쟁을 듣고 해결하기 위해 여전히 법원의 사법적 권한을 신뢰해야 합니다. 경찰이나 공무원에 대해서도 마찬가지입니다. 우리는 그들의 부족함에도 불구하고 그들을 신뢰해야 합니다.

우리의 교육 시스템은 어떻습니까? 학교는 아이들의 교육과 복지를 책임지는 중요한 기관입니다. 당신은 어린 자녀들을 학교에 데려다 주며 그들을 학교에 맡깁니다. 어떤 선생님들로 인해 아이들이 학대당했다는 얘기를 듣고도, 당신은 계속해서 학교를 신뢰해야 합니다.

그렇기 때문에 몇몇 사람들은 자신에게 주어진 이 신뢰를 악용합니다. 그들은 시스템을 조작하고, 우리 사회에 대한 신뢰를 지속적으로 약화시킵니다. 하지만 성경은 우리에게 이 땅의 지도자들에게 신뢰를 두지 말고 오히려 주님을 신뢰하라고 말합니다.

그러나 신뢰도 믿음과 마찬가지로 하나님의 말씀을 향해야 합니다. 즉, 신뢰 또한 하나님의 말씀에 근거해야 합니다. 특히 우리가 살아가는 이 시대에는 자신 안에 말씀을 쌓는 것이 매우 중요합니다. 따라서, 오늘날 사회의 부조리, 타락, 퇴폐, 부도덕과 상관없이 주님과 그분의 실패 없는 말씀을 신뢰하십시오.

고백

내 믿음은 말씀에 기초하고 있으며, 살아 있고, 활동적이고, 승리합니다. 상황은 나의 믿음 충만한 고백과 일치되고, 나는 믿음으로 내 세상을 다스리고 통치합니다. 나는 왕국의 영원한 실재를 붙잡고, 그리스도의 복음의 충만한 축복 가운데 걷습니다! 내 삶은 하나님의 영광을 위한 것입니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

TRUST IN THE LORD

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”(Proverbs 3:5-6).

Society is built on trust; we have to trust the systems and structures of our society; we have to trust the seeming goodness of the human person; but we cannot do it with blindness.

The courts for instance, are sometimes corrupt, yet we still have to rely on them for their judicial authority to hear and resolve disputes in civil, criminal or other cases. It’s the same with the police or civil service; we still have to somehow trust them in spite of these inadequacies.

How about the educational system? It’s an important institution where you entrust your children’s education and well-being. You take your little kids to school, leave them there even though you have heard time and time again that children have been abused by officials and so on; still, you have to trust.

That’s why there are those who take advantage of this trust that has been bequeathed to them; they manipulate the system and continually erode the trust in our society. However, the Bible warns us not to put our trust in earthly leaders, instead, we’re encouraged to trust in the Lord.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, ” Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” If the society we live in has become so degenerate, squalid and polluted, that leaves you no choice than to trust only in the Lord, Christ.

However, trust, just like faith, must be directed to the Word of God. It must be based on God’s Word. How important it is to put the Word into you especially in these days in which we live. Therefore, irrespective of the incongruities, depravities, decadences, and immoralities in today’s society, put your trust in the Lord and His unfailing Word.

CONFESSION

My faith is based on the Word, and it’s alive, active and prevailing. Circumstances align with my faith-filled confessions and I rule, reign and dominate my world by my faith. I’ve taken a hold of the eternal realities of the Kingdom, walking in the full blessings of the Gospel of Christ! My life is for the glory of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Be Mindful Of Satan’s Manipulations

예수님이 그분의 임박한 죽음에 대해 말씀하셨던 그 결정적인 순간에, 예수님의 가장 가까운 제자 중 한 명이었던 베드로가 예수님을 붙잡고 항변하며 이렇게 말했습니다. “주여 그리 마옵소서 이 일이 결코 주께 미치지 아니하리이다.”(마 16:22) 예수님의 반응은 빠르고 명확했습니다. 그분은 베드로를 돌아보시고 다음과 같이 말씀하셨습니다. “사탄아 내 뒤로 물러 가라”(마 16:23)

주 예수님께서는 사탄이 베드로를 통해 말한 것임을 알아차리셨습니다. 여기 당신이 주목해야 하는 부분이 있습니다. 예수님은 베드로에게 말씀하실 때 마치 마귀가 베드로 근처에 있는 것처럼 허공을 쳐다보며 말씀하지 않으셨습니다. 예수님은 마귀가 어디에 있는지 아셨습니다. 마귀는 바로 베드로 안에 있었습니다.

자, 여기 많은 사람들이 놓치는 부분이 있습니다. 그들은 “베드로가 한 때 귀신에 붙들려 있던 자라는 것을 상상이나 해봤습니까!” 라고 말합니다. 그런 말이 아닙니다! 베드로는 귀신 들린 사람이 아니었지만, 그가 한 말은 사탄의 영향을 받은 것이었습니다. 사람들이 사탄의 말들을 받아들이는 것은 곧 사탄을 받아들인 것과 같습니다. 이것은 귀신에 사로잡힌 것과는 다릅니다.

귀신에 사로잡히는 것은 한 사람이 그 영에 완전히 사로잡혀서 스스로 자유로울 수 없는 경우를 말합니다. 귀신에 사로잡힌 사람은 귀신이 시키는 대로만 행동하도록 강요되기 때문입니다.

베드로의 일과 비슷한 예시는 구약에 기록된 일로 사탄이 다윗을 움직여 이스라엘을 계수하도록 한 일입니다(대상 21장, 삼하 24장). 의인이었던 다윗 또한 자신이 사탄의 말에 휩쓸렸다는 사실을 인지하지 못했습니다. 이와 같이 베드로도 사탄이 자신을 통해 역사하고 있다는 것을 몰랐습니다.

말씀 안에서, 말씀에 의해, 말씀을 통해 성령님을 따르는 것을 배우는 것이 얼마나 중요한지요! 이것이 바로 우리가 다른 사람들, 특히 지도자들이 항상 옳은 일을 행하려는 의지, 갈망, 담대함을 가지고 성령의 인도를 받으며 성경과 반대되는 일을 절대 행하지 않도록 기도하고 중보해야 하는 이유입니다.

따라서 성경을 따라 모든 사람들과 왕들과 높은 지위에 있는 권세자들을 위하여 날마다 중보하고 감사하십시오. 이는 우리가 모든 경건과 단정함으로 고요하고 평안한 생활을 하기 위함입니다(딤전 2:2).

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 진리 안에 굳건히 서있습니다. 나는 마귀가 사용하는 전략, 책략, 조작, 속임수를 알고 있습니다. 말씀은 내 발의 등이요 내 길의 빛입니다. 말씀은 내 삶을 높이며 나를 정결케 하고 나의 영혼육을 깨끗케 합니다. 나는 내 삶에 있는 성령님의 인도에 민감하게 반응합니다. 성령님은 내가 하나님의 온전하신 뜻과 그분의 영광 안에서 걸을 수 있도록 하십니다. 아멘.

BE MINDFUL OF SATAN’S MANIPULATIONS

“After all, we don’t want to unwittingly give Satan an opening for yet more mischief–we’re not oblivious to his sly ways!”(2 Corinthians 2:11 MSG)

In a crucial moment when Jesus spoke about His impending death, Peter, one of the foremost disciples, took Jesus aside, objected and rebuked Him, saying, “Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee” (Matthew 16:22). The Lord’s response was swift and clear. He turned to Peter and said, “Get thee behind me, Satan…” (Matthew 16:23).

The Lord Jesus recognized that it was Satan speaking through Peter. But here’s something I’ll like you to notice. In addressing Peter, Jesus didn’t look into the air as though the devil was somewhere around speaking through Peter. He knew where the devil was; he was right in Peter.

Now, here’s where a lot of people miss it. They say, “Can you imagine; Peter was once demon-possessed”; no! Peter was not demon-possessed, but the words he spoke were influenced by Satan. When people accept Satan’s words, they receive of him to themselves. This doesn’t imply that they’re now demon-possessed.

Demon possession occurs when an individual is completely overtaken by that spirit, in which case he can’t free himself, as he’s compelled to do only what that evil spirit dictates.

Another example similar to Peter’s case is seen where Satan moved David to number Israel, as recorded in the Old Testament (1 Chronicles 21, 2 Samuel 24). David, a righteous man, was unaware that he had been swayed by Satan’s prompting. Similarly, Peter too was unaware that Satan was operating through him.

O, how important it is to learn to follow the Holy Spirit in the Word, by the Word, and through the Word! It’s part of the reasons we pray and intercede for people, especially leaders that they’ll always have the will, desire and boldness to do what is right, be led by the Holy Spirit, and never be in conflict with the Scriptures.

Therefore, in line with the Scriptures, always make intercessions and giving of thanks for all men, for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty (1 Timothy 2:1-2).

PRAYER

Dear Father, I remain steadfast in the truth, aware of the tactics, wiles, manipulations, deceits, trickery, and deceptions employed by the devil. The Word is a lamp unto my feet, illuminating my path; it has gained the ascendancy in my life and purifies me through and through—spirit, soul, and body. I’m sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in my life, who causes me to walk in God’s perfect will and in the glory of God. Amen.

Your Legal Authority To Use His Name

“믿는 자들에게는 이런 표적이 따르리니 곧 그들이 내 이름으로 귀신을 쫓아내며…”(막 16:17)

예수님이 이 땅에 계시던 시대에는 귀신을 내쫓는 행위인 축사가 새로운 것이 아니었습니다. 유대인들은 귀신들이 고난을 일으키기도 한다는 사실을 알았습니다. 예수님도 복음서의 몇몇 부분에서 이를 언급하셨습니다. 따라서 축사는 이미 존재하고 있었습니다. 한 예시로, 예수님은 마태복음 12:27에서 이렇게 물으셨습니다. “또 내가 바알세불을 힘입어 귀신을 쫓아내면 너희의 아들들은 누구를 힘입어 쫓아내느냐 그러므로 그들이 너희의 재판관이 되리라.”

그러나 사람들은 예수님이 사역하실 때 귀신을 쫓아낸 방식에서 독특한 점을 발견했습니다. 예수님은 그저 말씀만 하시는데 귀신이 쫓겨나가는 것입니다. 예수님은 다른 이들이 놀랄만한 권세를 행사하셨습니다. 따라서 사람들이 예수님이 누구신지, 왜 자신들과 다른지 궁금해하던 것은 당연합니다. 누가복음 4:36은 말합니다. “다 놀라 서로 말하여 이르되 이 어떠한 말씀인고 권위와 능력으로 더러운 귀신을 명하매 나가는도다 하더라.”

오늘날 예수님은 그분의 이름을 사용할 수 있는 대리인의 권세를 우리에게 주셨습니다. 예수님을 대신하여 행할 수 있는 법적 권한을 받은 것입니다. 그러므로 당신은 예수 이름을 사용하여 마귀를 쫓아낼 수 있습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “믿는 자들에게는 이런 표적이 따르리니 곧 그들이 내 이름으로 귀신을 쫓아내며…”(막 16:17-18)

기도

나는 예수 이름을 사용하는 권세를 받았으므로 모든 마귀를 다스리는 권세를 행사합니다. 나의 믿음은 최고의 방어 무기이며, 대적과 역경을 이기는 승리의 무기입니다. 나는 내 믿음을 가지고 악한 자의 모든 불화살을 소멸시킵니다. 하나님의 말씀이 내 영과 혼과 몸을 다스립니다. 나는 그리스도 안에서 영원히 승리합니다. 내 믿음은 세상을 이기는 승리이기 때문입니다!

YOUR LEGAL AUTHORITY TO USE HIS NAME

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…”(Mark 16:17).

In the days of Jesus, exorcism wasn’t a new thing as the Jews knew that demons were responsible for some afflictions. Jesus referred to it in some portions of the gospels; so, it was already in existence in His day. For example, in Matthew 12:27, Jesus asked, “And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.”

But the people noticed something unique about the way Jesus ministered and cast out demons; He only spoke words and the demons were cast out. He exercised authority that others marvelled at. No wonder they wanted to know who He was, and why He was so different. Luke 4:36 says, “And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.”

Today, He has given us the power of attorney to use His Name; the legal authority to act in his stead. Thus, you can cast out devils using the Name of Jesus. The Bible says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils…” (Mark 16:17-18).

Notice the three-word phrase: “In my name”; it means you can use the Name of Jesus and be heard. So, when He says “in my name, they shall cast out devils,” it means that in dealing with Satan and his demons, no need for fruitless arguments; cast them out! In His Name, you can frustrate the influence and manipulations of Satan in your family, workplace, city, and country.

No demon can resist or stand against the Name of Jesus. Philippians 2:9-11 says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

CONFESSION

I exercise authority over all devils, as I have been given the authority in the Name of Jesus. My faith is a weapon of defence and an instrument of victory over and against the adversary and adversities. With it, I put out all the fiery missiles of the wicked one. The Word of God has taken full possession of my spirit, soul, and body. I’m eternally triumphant in Christ because my faith is the victory that overcomes the world!

Leverage On Heritage

하나님의 말씀은 우리에게 위대함을 가르치지만, 다른 사람보다 더 위대해지는 것이 당신의 꿈이 되어서는 절대 안 됩니다. 당신의 노력을 통해 이전 세대를 앞지르거나 능가하기를 원할 수 있지만, 그들보다 위대하기를 추구하지 마십시오. 그들의 유산을 활용하십시오.

LEVERAGE ON HERITAGE

“…I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold”(Act 7:32).

The Word of God teaches us greatness, but being greater than another should never be your dream. You can desire to advance or surpass previous generations in your exploits, but don’t make it about greatness. Leverage on heritage.

For example, the children of Israel will never imagine or pray that they might be greater than Abraham, Isaac or Jacob; their greatness was dependent on the greatness of these patriarchs. Jacob couldn’t have imagined thinking being greater than Isaac; he recognized that his blessing came from being Isaac’s son.

Likewise, Isaac honoured Abraham as his father, knowing that his own greatness stemmed from being the son of Abraham. In Exodus 3:15, the Bible says, “And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.” The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob became their memorial forever.

The Lord Jesus is another example. God had promised David that his throne would be established forever (2 Samuel 7:12-13). Read how Jesus was identified in Matthew 1:1: “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”

So, even if you’ve achieved higher educational success than your biological father, for example, remember that his role in bringing you into existence makes him greater than you. As great as you are, you’re their product, you came from them, so that makes them greater than you for you to honour them the way God wants you to.

Recognizing this principle is vital. It’s one of the reasons we have great honour for those whom God sent before us in ministry, because without them, we wouldn’t have what we have today. Through them, the scriptures have been preserved through the ages; they diligently protected and passed down these precious teachings—the Scriptures that guide our lives. So, we remain grateful for what was done for us, leveraging on our heritage.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for my parents, spiritual leaders, mentors and everyone who has played a significant role in shaping my life and making me who I am today. Thank you, Lord, for the wisdom I’ve gained from them, the experiences, and the examples they’ve set for me to live the victorious life in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

A Cue From Esther

“당신은 가서 수산에 있는 유다인을 다 모으고 나를 위하여 금식하되 밤낮 삼 일을 먹지도 말고 마시지도 마소서 나도 나의 시녀와 더불어 이렇게 금식한 후에 규례를 어기고 왕에게 나아가리니 죽으면 죽으리이다 하니라”(에 4:16)

에스더서 4장에는 에스더가 왕후가 되어 즐거운 궁중 생활을 즐기게 된 이야기가 나옵니다. 하지만 그녀는 아하수에로 왕 내각의 고위직에 있던 악인 하만이 내린 칙서를 몰랐습니다. 하만의 계획은 에스더를 포함한 모든 유대인들을 멸절시키는 것이었습니다.

에스더의 숙부인 모르드개가 그녀에게 이 끔찍한 상황의 실체를 전달하기 위해 편지를 보내자 그녀의 시야가 바뀌었습니다.

이 편지에는 에스더의 생각을 뒤흔들었던 모르드개의 질문이 포함되어 있습니다. “네가 왕후의 자리를 얻은 것이 이 때를 위함이 아닌지 누가 알겠느냐 하니.”(에 4:14) 어쩌면 에스더는 이 결정적인 순간에 변화를 일으키기 위해 그 왕궁의 신성한 위치에 있었던 것입니다. 그녀는 자신의 유리한 위치를 이용해 자신의 백성들의 구원을 위해 행동하기로 결정했습니다.

A CUE FROM ESTHER

“Go and get all the Jews living in Susa together. Fast for me. Don’t eat or drink for three days, either day or night. I and my maids will fast with you. If you will do this, I’ll go to the king, even though it’s forbidden. If I die, I die”(Esther 4:16 MSG).

In the 4th chapter of the book of Esther, we read how Esther had become queen, enjoying a wonderful life in the palace. However, she was unaware of a decree issued by Haman—a prominent but wicked figure who held a high position in King Ahasuerus’s cabinet. Haman’s plan was to exterminate the Jews, including Esther herself.

Esther’s perspective changed when her uncle, Mordecai, sent her a message to convey the dire nature of the situation. He warned her not to be complacent as she herself, despite being queen, wouldn’t be spared should Haman be allowed to execute his wicked plan.

Here was Mordecai’s thought-provoking question to Esther, “…and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14). Perhaps, Esther had been divinely positioned in the palace to make a difference at that critical moment. She decided to take advantage of it and do something that’ll save her people.

She decided to go before the king to intercede for her people, even though it was against the law and carried the risk of death. I love her resolve; she said, “…if I perish, I perish.” In other words, I’m going ahead with this, even if it’s going to cost me my life.” That was the moment she won!

There comes a pivotal moment when you must make crucial decisions about the Gospel and your role in it, just like Esther. Until you learn to make that kind of decision, fear may keep you in bondage. It’s in those moments that fear must not hold you back.

Irrespective of the daunting challenges, the imminent perils or danger; stand your ground on the truth of God’s Word. Recognize and take advantage of God’s grace in you to win for others. Have the courage to act on the Truth. Make bold choices, and be willing to face anything in pursuit of what is right. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the doors of opportunity you’ve opened for me to make a difference in this world and win for others. I acknowledge and embrace the abundant grace you’ve bestowed upon me to lead others in victory and fulfil their purpose in life and ministry in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Learn To Talk To The Holy Spirit

“주 예수 그리스도의 은혜와 하나님의 사랑과 성령님의 교통하심이 너희 모두와 함께 있을지어다.”(고후 13:14, 킹제임스 흠정역)

많은 사람들이 하나님 아버지께 기도하고 항상 주 예수 그리스도와 대화하는 것에 익숙합니다. 이와 같이 우리 안에 거하시는 성령님을 인식하고 그분과 자주 모든 일에 대해 소통하는 것도 중요합니다. 매일 그분과 대화하십시오. 저는 어떤 사람보다도 성령님과 더 많이 대화합니다. 성령님과 대화하는 것을 훈련하십시오.

당신이 아버지와 주 예수님께 말하는 것과 같은 방식으로 성령님께 의식적으로 말하십시오. 성령님을 인식하고 존경하는 마음으로 부르십시오. 기억하십시오. 성령님은 하나님의 임재와 축복의 전달자이십니다. 성령님이 바로 하나님께서 원하시는 곳 어디에서나 하나님의 임재와 능력을 나타내시는 분입니다.

놀랍고도 측량할 수 없는 신성이 당신 안에 거하고 항상 당신과 소통하기를 원한다는 사실에 대해 생각해 보십시오! 그분의 이름이 “성령님”은 아니지만 그분은 당신이 그분을 부르고 그분께 말하고 있다는 것을 아십니다. 성경이 그분을 그렇게 지칭하고 있기 때문입니다. 또한 당신이 주 예수님께 말하거나 아버지께 기도할 때, 그에 대한 반응으로 일하시는 분은 성령님이라는 점 또한 놀랍습니다.

따라서 성령님은 예수 이름에 응답하시고 당신이 아버지께 간구하는 일을 성취하실 때 그분을 역사하시는 분으로 인정하고 교제하십시오! 고린도후서 13:14에 주목하십시오. “주 예수 그리스도의 은혜와 하나님의 사랑과 성령님의 교통하심이 너희 모두와 함께 있을지어다.” 우리는 어떤 분과 교제합니까? 바로 성령님입니다!

우리 교제의 법적인 근거는 주 예수 그리스도를 통해 세워지지만, 우리는 성령님과 생명력 있는 교제을 발전시키도록 부름 받았습니다. 그분께 자주 말하십시오. 지금까지 그렇게 해왔다면 교제를 유지하도록 스스로 격려하십시오. 그렇게 할 때, 당신의 삶이 초월적이고, 영향력 있고, 탁월하게 변화하는 것에 대해 놀라게 될 것입니다. 그분의 인도를 통해 영광에서 영광으로 나아가는 당신의 삶을 발견하게 될 것입니다. 할렐루야!

LEARN TO TALK TO THE HOLY SPIRIT

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen”(2 Corinthians 13:14).

Many of us are familiar with praying to God the Father, and talking to the Lord Jesus Christ all the time. It’s also essential for us to recognize the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, and commune with Him often and about everything. Talk to Him every day. I talk to the Holy Spirit more than I talk to any human person. Practise it.

In the same way you’ve been talking to the Father and the Lord Jesus, consciously talk to the Holy Spirit. Address Him with recognition and reverence. Remember, He’s the conveyor of the presence and blessings of God; He’s the One that manifests God’s presence and His power wherever God wants it.

Think about the fact that this awesome infinite personality of the Godhead lives in you, and wants to communicate with you always! Interestingly, although His name is not “Holy Spirit,” He understands that you’re referring to Him or addressing Him because that’s how the Scripture refers to Him. It’s also amazing to realize that every time you talk to the Lord Jesus, or pray to the Father, it’s the Holy Spirit who acts in response.

So, while He responds to the Name of Jesus, and fulfils the petitions you make of the Father, recognize and commune with Him as the doer of the work! Notice again what 2 Corinthians 13:14 says, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.” Who do we have the communion with? The Holy Spirit!

While our legal fellowship is established through the Lord Jesus Christ, we are called to cultivate a vital relationship with the Holy Spirit. Talk to Him often. If you’ve been doing it, keep at it and encourage yourself in it. You’ll be amazed at how transcendent, impactful and excellent your life will be. Through His guidance, you’ll find your life propelled from glory to glory. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Holy Spirit, thank you for dwelling in me, and for the privilege of such a great union and fellowship with you. Thank you for the transformation and glory that you bring to my life every day; as I yield myself to you for guidance and direction, I triumph gloriously always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
