예수님은 그분의 영광을 우리와 나누십니다

“내게 주신 영광을 내가 그들에게 주었사오니 이는 우리가 하나가 된 것 같이 그들도 하나가 되게 하려 함이니이다”(요17:22)
어떤 그리스도인들은 하나님께서 그분의 영광을 다른 사람과 나누지 않으실 것이라고 말합니다. 어떤 사람들은 너무 오랜 시간 그렇게 말했기 때문에 그것이 영적이라고 믿게 되었습니다. 그러나 그렇지 않습니다. 그들은 하나님께서 이사야42:8에 말씀하신 바를 잘못 이해하고, 그 말씀을 사용하여 자신의 입장을 방어합니다. 주님은 이사야 42:8에서 다음과 같이 말씀하셨습니다. “나는 여호와이니 이는 내 이름이라 나는 내 영광을 다른 자에게, 내 찬송을 우상에게 주지 아니하리라.”
이사야 선지자의 예언 사역과 그의 표현들을 안다면 그가 대부분의 예언에서 동일한 진리에 대해 두번씩 표현했음을 알 것입니다. 예를 들어, 이사야42:8에서 그가 언급한 “다른 자”는 또한 그 뒤에 나오는 “우상”과 영적으로 같은 의미입니다.
주님께서 이사야 48:11에서 말씀하실 때에도 같은 것을 볼 수 있습니다. “나는 나를 위하며 나를 위하여 이를 이룰 것이라 어찌 내 이름을 욕되게 하리요 내 영광을 다른 자에게 주지 아니하리라.” 어떻게 하나님의 이름이 더럽혀졌습니까? 바로 하나님께 대한 예배를 우상숭배와 섞는 것입니다. 주님께서 그분의 영광을 다른 이에게 주지 않겠다고 하신 모든 말씀마다 그분은 사람들이 아닌 우상들과 나누지 않겠다고 말씀하셨습니다.
태초부터 하나님의 계획은 사람들에게 자신의 영광을 나눠주는 것이었습니다. 하나님은 항상 그렇게 하기를 원하셨습니다. 하나님이 사람을 영화롭게 만드셨지만, 사람이 죄를 지어 하나님의 영광에 닿지 못하게 되었습니다. “모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니”(롬3:23)
죄가 사람을 하나님의 영광으로부터 나오게 했습니다. 그러나 예수님께서 오셔서 사람을 하나님의 영광으로 회복시키셨습니다. “하나님이 그들로 하여금 이 비밀의 영광이 이방인 가운데 얼마나 풍성한지를 알게 하려 하심이라 이 비밀은 너희 안에 계신 그리스도시니 곧 영광의 소망이니라”(골1:27) 이것이 기독교의 계시이자 본질입니다.
우리는 하나님으로부터 영광을 빼앗으려는 것이 아닙니다. 하나님께서 우리에게 자신의 영광을 주셨습니다. 당신이 그 영광 안에 있음을 매일 감사하십시오. 하나님께서 당신에게 그 영광을 주셨습니다. 그리고 그 영광으로 당신을 지으셨습니다. 당신은 하나님의 영광입니다! 할렐루야!
고백
하나님의 영광은 나의 육신에 나타나고, 나의 존재를 통해 흐르며, 나의 모든 연약함, 나약함, 약점을 제거합니다. 하나님의 영광은 나의 가족, 직장, 사업, 그리고 내 삶의 모든 영역에서 나타납니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘

HE SHARES HIS GLORY WITH US
“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one”(John 17:22-23).
There are Christians who say God won’t share His glory with another. Some have said it for so long that they now believe it’s spiritual, but it’s not. They misunderstood what God said in Isaiah 42:8 and use it to buttress their position. There, the Lord said, “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.”
If you understand Isaiah’s prophetic ministry and his expressions, you’d understand that he portrays a dual communication of the same truth in most of his prophecies. For instance, what he refers to as “another” is also, spiritually, what he refers to as “graven images.”
You’ll observe the same thing in Isaiah 48:11 where the Lord says, “For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.” How’s God’s name polluted? It’s by mixing the worship of God with idolatry. Every time the Lord talked about not giving His glory to another, He was referring to idols, not human beings.
It was always God’s plan from the beginning to share His glory with human beings; He always wanted to do it. When He made man, He glorified man, but when man sinned, he fell short of the glory of God: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).
It was sin that took man out of the glory of God. But when Jesus came, He restored man to the glory of God: “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). This is the revelation and essence of Christianity.
We’re not trying to take glory from God; He gave us His glory. Every day of your life, thank Him that you’re in the glory. That’s what He’s given to you; and that’s what He’s made you: you’re the glory of God! Hallelujah!
CONFESSION
God’s glory is evident in my physical body, coursing through my being, ridding me of every infirmity, feebleness or weakness; it’s seen in my family, job, business, and all areas of my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
