하나님께 받는 좋은 평판
A GOOD REPORT FROM GOD
“믿음은 바라는 것들의 실상이요 보이지 않는 것들의 증거니 선진들이 이로써 증거를 얻었느니라”(히11:1-2)
어떻게 하나님께 좋은 평판을 얻을 수 있습니까? 오늘의 본문 구절은 우리의 영적인 가족의 조상들이 믿음으로 말미암아 하나님께 좋은 평판을 얻었다고 말합니다. 당신이 하나님께 축하와 칭찬을 받고 싶다면, 이는 당신의 믿음의 행동으로 가능합니다. 말씀이 이렇게 말한 것은 당연합니다. “믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 하지 못하나니…”(히11:6)
성경은 말합니다. “믿음으로 아브라함은 부르심을 받았을 때에 순종하여 장래의 유업으로 받을 땅에 나아갈새 갈 바를 알지 못하고 나아갔으며 믿음으로 그가 이방의 땅에 있는 것 같이 약속의 땅에 거류하여 동일한 약속을 유업으로 함께 받은 이삭 및 야곱과 더불어 장막에 거하였으니 이는 그가 하나님이 계획하시고 지으실 터가 있는 성을 바랐음이라”(히11:8-10). 그 결과, 야고보서 2:23은 이렇게 말합니다. “…아브라함이 하나님을 믿으니 이것을 의로 여기셨다는 말씀이 이루어졌고 그는 하나님의 벗이라 칭함을 받았나니.”
에녹은 어떻습니까? 창세기 5:24은 말합니다. “에녹이 하나님과 동행하더니 하나님이 그를 데려가시므로 세상에 있지 아니하였더라.” 히브리서 11:5은 더 많은 사실을 알려줍니다. “믿음으로 에녹은 죽음을 보지 않고 옮겨졌으니 하나님이 그를 옮기심으로 다시 보이지 아니하였느니라 그는 옮겨지기 전에 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 자라 하는 증거를 받았느니라.” 할렐루야!
히브리서 11장 나와있는 아벨, 노아, 사무엘, 이삭, 사라, 요셉, 모세, 바락, 삼손 등의 다른 모든 믿음의 영웅들에 관해서도 읽어보십시오. 성경은 그들 모두 믿음으로 말미암아 좋은 평판을 얻었다고 말합니다. 그러나 성경이 우리에게 알려주는 놀라운 사실이 또 있습니다. 그들은 약속을 받지 못했습니다. 하나님께서 우리에게 더 좋은 것을 주셨기 때문입니다. “이 사람들은 모두 참된 용사들로 믿음으로 말미암아 칭찬을 받았으나 그들에게 약속된 것을 온전히 받지 못하였으나 이제 하나님이 우리를 위하여 그들이 받은 것보다 더 좋은 것을 예비하셨은즉 믿음의 온전함이라… “(히11:39-40, 패션번역본)
따라서 우리에게는 변명의 여지가 없습니다. 매일 당신의 믿음을 표현하십시오. 믿음의 삶을 사십시오. 하나님의 말씀을 행하십시오. 믿음은 말씀을 행하는 것이기 때문입니다! 바로 이것이 하나님께 좋은 평판을 얻고 그리스도의 영광과 축복 가운데 사는 방법입니다.
고백
내 믿음은 말씀으로 자라나고 역풍과 반발을 이기고 승리합니다. 내 삶은 왕국의 영원한 실재에 의해 다스려지고 있으며, 왕국에 있는 축복이 내 세상에 풀어지고 있습니다. 내 믿음은 사랑으로 역사하고 나는 매일 승리하는 삶을 살며 하나님께 좋은 평판을 얻습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

A GOOD REPORT FROM GOD
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report”(Hebrews 11:1-2).
How would you like to have a good report from God? Our opening verse says through faith the elders in our spiritual family obtained a good report from God. If you want to be celebrated by God, if you want to have praise of Him, it’s got to be through your actions of faith. No wonder He says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him…” (Hebrews 11:6).
The Bible says, “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God” (Hebrews 11:8-10). As a result, James 2:23 says, “…Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.”
How about Enoch? Genesis 5:24 says, “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” Hebrews 11:5 tells us more; it says, “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” Hallelujah!
Read about all the other heroes of faith in Hebrews 11; the likes of Abel, Noah, Samuel, Isaac, Sarah, Joseph, Moses, Barack, Samson, etc. The Bible says they all obtained a good report through faith. However, we notice something striking that the Bible tells us: they didn’t receive the promise, because God provided something better for us: “These were the true heroes, commended for their faith, yet they lived in hope without receiving the fullness of what was promised them. But now God has invited us to live in something better than what they had—faith’s fullness…” (Hebrews 11:39-40 TPT).
Thus, we have no excuse; every day, give expression to your faith. Live the faith life. Practise God’s Word, for faith is acting on the Word! That’s the way to obtain a good report from God and walk in the glory and blessings of Christ.
CONFESSION
My faith grows by the Word, prevails and triumphs over contrary winds and opposition. My life is regulated by the eternal realities of the Kingdom, and the blessings therein are unleashed into my world. My faith works by love, and I obtain a good report from God as I live victoriously every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
