“너희 염려를 다 주께 맡기라 이는 그가 너희를 돌보심이라”(벧전 5:7)
패션 번역본(Passion Translation)은 오늘의 본문 구절을 다음과 같이 번역합니다. “너희의 모든 염려와 스트레스를 그분께 쏟아 붓고 그대로 두라, 그분께서 항상 지극히 너희를 돌보심이라.” 베드로는 당신에게 모든 걱정과 염려를 주님께로 맡기라고 말합니다. 이 말씀이 얼마나 힘이 되는지요! 이는 끝없는 평강과 기쁨의 삶으로의 단순한 초대입니다. 할렐루야!
확대번역본은 위 구절을 다음과 같이 번역합니다. “너희의 모든 염려[모든 불안, 모든 걱정, 모든 근심]를 (단번에) 던져라, 이는 그분이 너를 사랑으로 돌보시며 {또한} 주위를 경계하며 돌보심이라.” 이는 아무것도 남기지 말라는 뜻입니다. 어떤 사람들은 너무 많이 신경 쓰고 너무 많은 것에 문제를 느낍니다. 마치 그들은 고민할 때 행복함을 느끼는 것처럼 보입니다. 얼마나 안타까운 삶의 방식인지요!
하지만 하나님은 당신을 사랑하십니다. 당신을 사랑으로 돌보시며 주위를 경계하며 당신을 지키십니다. 이것이 하나님께서 당신을 어떻게 대하는지 스스로 말씀하신 바입니다. 그분은 당신이 어떤 일에도 당황하거나 걱정하지 않기를 원하십니다. 걱정은 당신의 기쁨을 빼앗아가고 당신의 효율성을 낮춥니다.
당신은 이렇게 말할 수도 있습니다. “내가 염려하는 것은 하나님의 왕국의 일입니다. 나는 많은 영혼을 구원하기로 목표를 정했고, 그것이 나의 걱정입니다.” 이것은 잘못되었습니다. 그분은 우리에게 영혼을 구원하라고 하셨지만, 그들을 구원할 수 있을지 걱정하라고는 말씀하지 않으셨습니다. 그러니 걱정하기를 거절하십시오! 자주 이렇게 고백하십시오. “나는 어떠한 것도 걱정하기를 거절한다. 오히려 나는 범사에 기도와 간구로 내가 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 구한다. 그러므로 모든 지각에 뛰어넘는 그분의 평강이 그리스도 예수 안에서 내 마음과 생각을 지키신다.”
하나님께서 우리에게 하라고 말씀하신 일들은 절대 어렵지 않습니다. 마태복음 11:28-30에서 예수님은 말씀하셨습니다. “수고하고 무거운 짐 진 자들아 다 내게로 오라 내가 너희를 쉬게 하리라 나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니 나의 멍에를 메고 내게 배우라 그리하면 너희 마음이 쉼을 얻으리니 이는 내 멍에는 쉽고 내 짐은 가벼움이라 하시니라.” 바로 이것입니다! 그분은 우리 인생에서 스트레스를 없애셨습니다. 당신이 해야 할 일은 그분의 말씀을 따라 행동하는 것입니다. 아무것도 염려하지 말고, 오직 모든 일에 기도와 간구로 당신이 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰십시오. 그리하면 모든 지각에 뛰어난 그분의 평강이 그리스도 예수 안에서 당신의 마음과 생각을 지키실 것입니다. 아멘.

나는 기쁨으로 충만합니다. 나는 그리스도의 은혜와 영광과 복음의 충만한 축복을 가득 누립니다. 나는 내 삶의 모든 작은 부분까지 미치는 하나님의 사랑과 돌보심을 의식합니다. 나에게 속한 모든 것이 온전 해졌습니다! 나는 평강 가운데 거하며, 지금 그리고 영원히 안식의 자리에서 기능합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

ROLL THEM OVER TO JESUS
“Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”(1 Peter 5:7).
Our opening verse in the Passion Translation says, “Pour out all your worries and stress upon him and leave them there, for he always tenderly cares for you.” He’s telling you to roll your cares and concerns over to Jesus. How encouraging that is! It’s a simple invitation to a life of unending peace and Joy. Hallelujah!
The Amplified version renders it thus: “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately {and} cares about you watchfully.” This means leave none out. There’re people who care so much and are troubled about many things. It seems they must worry to be “happy”; what a terrible way to live!
But God loves you. He cares for you affectionately and protectively watches over you. This is what He says of Himself with respect to you. He doesn’t want you flustered or worried about anything. Worrying will steal your joy and reduce your effectiveness.
You may say, “The things I worry about are things of the Kingdom; I have a target to win many souls, so it gets me worried.” No. He told us to win souls; but He didn’t tell us to worry about winning them. So, refuse to worry! Every so often, say, “I refuse to be anxious over anything; but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, I make my request known unto God. Therefore, His peace that surpasses all understanding garrisons my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.”
The things He asked us to do are never burdensome. He said in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me…and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” That’s it! He’s taken the stress out of life. Yours is to act on His Word. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God, and His peace that surpasses all understanding shall garrison your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Amen.

I’m full of joy; basking in the grace and glory of Christ and full blessings of the Gospel. I’m conscious of God’s love and care for me and for every detail of my life; everything that pertains to me has been perfected! I live in peace, and function from a place of rest, now and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
