Recognize Your New Identity
“너희 생각의 영 안에서 새롭게 되어 하나님을 따라 의와 참된 거룩함 안에서 창조된 새 사람을 입으라”(엡 4:23-24, 한글킹제임스)
거듭났을 때 당신은 의와 참된 거룩함 안에서 재창조되었습니다. 거듭나지 않은 사람과 달리 당신은 하나님의 아버지 되심을 완전히 깨닫게 됩니다. 당신은 그분께 산 자입니다. 요한일서 3:2은 말합니다. “사랑하는 자들아 우리가 지금은 하나님의 자녀라…” 당신은 주님께 자녀가 되었습니다. 당신은 그분으로부터 났습니다. 그것은 요한일서 4:4이 의미하는 바입니다. “자녀들아 너희는 하나님께 속하였고…” 당신은 그분으로부터 태어났습니다. 당신의 근원은 하나님 안에 있습니다. 할렐루야!
베드로는 우리를 신성한 본성에 동참하는 자(하나님과 같은 종류의 자)라고 부릅니다. 당신은 하나님의 본성으로 옷 입은 자, 곧 당신을 창조하신 이의 형상을 따라 지식에까지 새롭게 하심을 입은 자입니다(골 3:10). 그래서 성경은 다음과 같이 말합니다. “그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다”(고후 5:17)
옛 본성은 하나님의 의의 생명으로 대체되었습니다. 사람들은 당신이 거듭나기 전에 행한 잘못된 일들을 여전히 당신과 연결시킬 수도 있지만, 진리는 그런 일을 한 사람은 더 이상 존재하지 않는다는 것입니다. 성경은 당신이 주 예수 그리스도의 이름 안에서 우리 하나님의 성령으로 씻음을 받았고, 거룩하게 되었고, 의롭게 되었다고 말합니다(고전 6:11). 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 그리스도 안에 있는 나의 새로운 본성과 정체성에 감사드립니다. 나는 주 예수의 이름 안에서 성령으로 씻음을 받았고, 거룩하게 되었고, 의롭게 되었습니다. 나는 그리스도 안에서 내가 받은 의의 새로운 생명의 실재 안에서 행하며 의의 일과 열매를 맺습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

Recognize Your New Identity
“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness”(Ephesians 4:23-24).
When you were born again, you were recreated in righteousness and true holiness. Unlike the unregenerate man, you’re completely awakened to the Fatherhood of God; you’re alive to Him. 1 John 3:2 says, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God.” You’re in a sonship relationship with the Lord; you’re born of Him. That’s the meaning of 1 John 4:4: “Ye are of God, little children…”; you hail from Him; your origin is in Him. Hallelujah!
Peter calls us partakers of the divine nature (associates of the God-kind). You’ve put on the God-nature, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of God that created you (Colossians 3:10). This is your true identity. Walk in this light. You’re not the same person you were before you were born again. That’s why the Bible says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have disappeared, and-look!-all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17 ISV).
The old sin-nature was supplanted with God’s life of righteousness. People may still associate you with some of the wrong things you did before you were born again, but the truth is, the person that did those things doesn’t exist anymore. What the Bible says about you now is that you are washed, sanctified, justified, in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6:11). Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank you for my new nature and identity in Christ; I’ve been washed, sanctified, justified, in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Holy Spirit. I walk in the reality of the new life of righteousness which I’ve received in Christ, producing fruits and works of righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
