복음을 위한 담대함
Courage For The Gospel
“내가 네게 명령한 것이 아니냐 강하고 담대하라 두려워하지 말며 놀라지 말라 네가 어디로 가든지 네 하나님 여호와가 너와 함께 하느니라 하시니라”(수 1:9)
용기는 역경이나 반대에도 불구하고 마땅히 해야 할 옳은 일을 행하거나 지지하는 능력과 의지입니다. 이는 또한 위험과 반대를 두려워하지 않고 맞서며 어떤 역경이나 대적을 마주하더라도 그리스도 안에 있는 당신의 믿음을 고백하는 능력입니다. 이 능력은 모든 그리스도인에게 주어졌지만, 모두가 그것을 나타내는 것은 아닙니다.
담대한 사람은 모든 도전이 진보와 승리의 기회라는 것을 이해합니다. 담대함이 예수 그리스도의 교회를 현 위치까지 전진하게 하였습니다. 사도와 선지자들이 반대를 무릅쓰고 옳은 일을 옹호함으로써 용기를 나타내지 않았더라면, 복음이 전 세계를 돌아 우리에게 전달되지 못했을 수도 있습니다. 그들은 왕과 독재자를 두려워하지 않았고, 죽기를 무서워하지 않았습니다. 그들은 강하고 매우 담대했습니다.
바울은 데살로니가 교회에 보낸 편지에서 그와 몇몇 사람들이 격렬한 반대에도 불구하고 복음을 전파하기 위해 얼마나 큰 용기를 보였는지에 대해 말했습니다. “너희가 아는 바와 같이 우리가 이전에 빌립보에서 고난을 받고 모욕을 당하였으나 우리의 하나님 안에서 담대하여 많은 투쟁을 하며 하나님의 복음을 너희에게 전하였노라”(살전 2:2, 한글킹제임스).
담대한 사람들은 자신이 믿는 것에 초점을 맞추고 살며, 아무리 큰 도전이 올지라도 자신이 믿는 바를 포기하지 않습니다. 그러므로 그 어느 때보다 주님과 그분의 말씀에 마음을 고정하고, 복음을 전진시키는데 무엇이든 할 준비가 되어 있는 자로 살아가십시오.
고백
나는 강하고 담대합니다! 나는 사람들에게 생명의 사역을 하고, 강하게 세우며, 그들을 하나님의 빛으로 인도함으로써 헤아릴 수 없는 그리스도의 풍성함을 전달하도록 선택 받았습니다. 그러므로 어떤 시험이나 시련, 반대, 적대가 올지라도 나는 그리스도 안에서 나의 전선을 확고히 하고, 어떤 대가를 치르더라도 복음을 전하려는 내적 강인함을 유지합니다. 내 안에 계신 성령님을 통해 담대함이 증가하고 있기 때문에 나는 용감합니다. 할렐루야!

COURAGE FOR THE GOSPEL
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest (Joshua 1:9).
Courage is the ability and will to do or stand for what is right or necessary even in the face of adversity or opposition. It’s the ability to face danger and opposition fearlessly and affirm your faith in Christ no matter the adversaries or adversities that you face. It’s a virtue everyone in Christ has been granted, but not every Christian manifests it.
A person of courage understands that every opposition is an opportunity for progress and victory. Courage is what got the Church of Jesus Christ to where it is today. Had the apostles and prophets of old not exhibited courage by standing for what was right in spite of opposition, the Gospel may never have gone around the world and got to us at the time it did. They weren’t afraid of kings and despots, and they sure weren’t afraid to die. They were strong and very courageous.
Paul, in his letter to the Church in Thessalonica, recounted how he and some others demonstrated great courage to preach the Gospel despite fierce opposition. He said, “You know how badly we had been treated at Philippi just before we came to you and how much we suffered there. Yet God gave us the courage to boldly repeat the same message to you, even though we were surrounded by enemies” (1 Thessalonians 2:2 TLB).
People of courage keep their focus on what they believe in, and nothing is too big for them to give or do in pursuit of their convictions. Therefore, set your mind on the Lord and His Word, and be ever ready to do anything for the furtherance of the Gospel.
CONFESSION
I’m strong and of a good courage! I’m ordained of God to preach the unsearchable riches of Christ; to minister life, to strengthen others and bring them into God’s light. Therefore, no matter the tests, trials, opposition, adversaries, I maintain my solid front in Christ; that inner fortitude to make the Gospel known at any cost. I’m courageous, with the boldness of the Spirit in increasing measure! Hallelujah!
