Tongues And Interpretation
“그러므로 방언을 말하는 자는 통역하기를 기도할지니”(고전 14:13)
수년 전 어린 십대 시절에 저는 친구들과 함께 집회를 준비하고 있었습니다. 저와 친구들은 자주 만나서 기도하고 금식하며 예언의 말들을 했습니다. 그러던 어느 날 저는 다른 친구들이 오기 전에 기도하기 위해 일찍 도착했습니다. 당시 저는 방언으로 기도하고 있었습니다. 제가 영 안에서 말하는 것들이 집회와 관련되어 있다는 직감이 들었지만, 방언으로 기도하다 보니 제가 무슨 말을 하고 있는지 알 수 없었습니다.
그때는 아직 방언통역의 은사가 있던 두 친구들이 도착하기 전이었습니다. 저는 계속해서 방언으로 기도했고 여전히 기름부음을 강하게 느낄 수 있었습니다. 그러고서 저는 말했습니다. “주님, 저는 성령께서 저에게 계시해주는 것들을 알기 위해 방언통역의 은사가 필요합니다.” 계속 방언으로 기도하고 있던 찰나에 방언통역을 하게 되었고, 영어로 말하기 시작했습니다. 얼마나 기뻤는지요!
그리고 필기구를 가져와서 내용을 적기 시작했습니다. 저는 기도하고, 그 내용을 통역했습니다. 무슨 일이 일어난 줄 아십니까? 제가 집회에 대해 알게 되었던 내용들이 모두 실제로 일어났습니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다! 방언통역은 무척 중요합니다. 방언과 방언통역은 예언과 동일합니다. 그리고 예언은 듣는 사람을 세워줍니다.
방언으로 예언의 말을 할 때, 당신은 성령께서 그 내용을 계시해주실 것이라고 신뢰할 수 있습니다. 만일 당신이 방언하는 축복을 누렸다면 방언통역의 은사를 받을 때까지 기다리십시오. 그 경험은 당신에게 말로 다 할 수 없는 기쁨을 줄 것입니다! 당신이 아직 방언통역의 은사를 받지 못했다면 주님께 구하십시오. 성령을 통해 당신에게 방언통역의 은사를 주는 것이 그분의 갈망입니다. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 하나님 아버지, 나에게 방언할 수 있는 능력을 주셔서 당신과 하늘의 언어로 교통할 수 있게 하시는 성령님으로 인해 감사드립니다. 나는 하나님의 신비를 선포할 뿐만 아니라, 성령으로 말미암아 예언의 말을 통해 그것을 이해하는 특권을 누립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

TONGUES AND INTERPRETATION
Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret (1 Corinthians 14:13).
Many years ago, as a young teenager, I was preparing, alongside my friends, for a crusade; so, we met often, praying and fasting, with words of prophecy. One day, I arrived early to pray ahead of the others. While I was praying, speaking in tongues, I had the intuition that I was saying things in the Spirit that had to do with the crusade, but the words were coming out in tongues and I didn’t have the interpretation. None of my friends, two of whom had the gift of interpretation of tongues, had come.
I continued speaking in tongues and I was still feeling the unction so strong. Then, I said, “Lord, I need the gift of the interpretation of tongues so I can know what the Spirit is bringing to my understanding.” As I continued praying and speaking in tongues, suddenly, I received the interpretation and began to speak them out in English Language. Oh, how elated I was!
Then I took my journal and began to write. I spoke the words and interpreted. And guess what? Those things that were brought to my understanding about the crusade all came to pass. Praise God! Interpretation of tongues is so important. Tongues and interpretation of tongues equal prophecy. And prophecy brings edification.
As you speak in tongues in prophetic utterance, you can trust the Holy Spirit to bring the message to your understanding. If you thought you were blessed speaking in tongues, wait until you receive the interpretation. The experience will bring you such unspeakable joy! If you don’t have the interpretation, the Lord says to ask for it, and it’s His desire to grant it, through the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the Holy Spirit who has given me the ability to speak in tongues and commune with you in a heavenly language. I take advantage of this privilege, not only to declare divine mysteries, but also to bring them to my understanding through prophetic utterance, by the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
