하나님의 지시는 위대한 열매를 맺습니다
His Instructions Make Great
“내가 너로 큰 민족을 이루고 네게 복을 주어 네 이름을 창대하게 하리니 너는 복이 될지라”(창 12:2)
하나님은 우리가 그분의 말씀을 받을 때 반드시 그 말씀에 따라 살기를 기대하십니다. 성경에서 삶의 원리를 보여주거나 하나님으로부터 분명한 지시를 주는 말씀이 나오면 우리는 주의를 기울여야 합니다. 우리는 그러한 말씀을 진지하게 받아들이고 그 말씀에 근거해서 살아야 합니다. 그분의 지시는 위대한 열매를 맺기 때문입니다.
하나님의 말씀을 따르지 않고 오히려 인간의 지혜에 근거해서 행동하는 사람들에게 인생은 도전과 혼돈의 미로와 같습니다. 창세기 26장에 나오는 이삭의 경험을 보십시오. 그는 주님으로부터 그의 나라를 떠나서 이집트로 가지 말라는 지시를 들었습니다. 그의 나라는 기근이 들었고 그 시기에 다른 사람들은 푸른 초원이 있는 이집트로 이주하고 있었습니다. 그렇기 때문에 이삭이 그랄을 떠나 이집트로 가려고 하는 것은 (인간의 지혜) 타당한 생각이었습니다.
그러나 주님께서는 그에게 이렇게 지시하셨습니다. “… 내가 네게 지시하는 땅에 거주하라 이 땅에 거류하면 내가 너와 함께 있어 네게 복을 주고 내가 이 모든 땅을 너와 네 자손에게 주리라 내가 네 아버지 아브라함에게 맹세한 것을 이루어”(창 26:2-3) 이삭은 주님의 지시를 따랐으며, 그 결과는 창세기 26:12-13에 적혀져 있습니다. 그는 성장하면서 창대해져 거부가 되자 기근으로 빈곤해진 같은 땅에 살고 있던 블레셋 사람들이 그를 시기하게 되었습니다.
당신의 인생을 위해 하나님의 영의 인도를 따르십시오. 하나님의 계획과 지시, 당신의 삶을 향한 그분의 뜻과 목적 외에 위대함과 성공하는 삶을 위한 다른 방법은 없습니다. 당신이 어떤 압박을 받고 있든지 상관없습니다. 해답을 얻기 위해 성령님께 자신을 내어드리십시오. 상황을 더욱 악화시킬 충동적인 결정을 내리지 마십시오. 성령님께 상담하고 그분의 인도를 신뢰하십시오.
성령님은 당신의 위대함과 번영을 위한 청사진을 가지고 계십니다. 당신을 위대하게 만드는 것이 그분의 계획이며 생각입니다. 하나님은 아브라함에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 너로 큰 민족을 이루고 네게 복을 주어 네 이름을 창대하게 하리니 너는 복이 될지라“당신의 위대함이 당신의 행동이나 다른 사람에게 달려있다고 생각하지 마십시오. 아브라함의 씨로서 위대함은 당신 안에 있고, 당신이 하나님의 지시를 따르고 당신의 삶을 향한 그분의 목적을 성취할 때 역사하고 발현됩니다.
고백
나는 아브라함의 씨이며, 위대해지도록 은혜 받았고 모든 선한 일에서 열매 맺도록 기름부음 받았습니다. 나는 번영하며 영광 안에 살도록 예정되었습니다. 그러므로 나는 영광스러운 삶을 살며 그리스도 안에서 나의 목적과 운명을 성취합니다. 위대한 일들이 말씀과 성령의 능력으로, 나에게 그리고 나를 통해 일어나고 있습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HIS INSTRUCTIONS MAKE GREAT
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing (Genesis 12:2).
God expects that when we receive His Word, we should live accordingly. When we have words in Scripture that show us principles of life or that give us definite instructions from God, we have to take heed; we have to take such words seriously and live by them. His instructions make great.
Life becomes challenging, a labyrinth of confusion for those who don’t follow God’s Word but would rather act on human wisdom and intelligence. Take for instance, the experience of Isaac in Genesis 26. He received an instruction from the Lord not to leave his country to Egypt, because of the famine in his country.
People were migrating to Egypt at the time for greener pastures so it made sense (human wisdom) that Isaac sought to leave Gerar to seek relief in Egypt.
However, the Lord instructed him, saying, “…dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father” (Genesis 26:2-3). Isaac followed the Lord’s instruction and the result is penned for us in Genesis 26:12-13: he grew, waxed great and became very great, so much so that the Philistines envied him in the same land that was impoverished by famine.
Follow the leading of God’s Spirit for your life.
There’s no other way to greatness and a successful life besides following God’s plan, His instructions, will and purpose for your life. It makes no difference the pressure you’re under, yield to the Spirit for answers; don’t make impulsive decisions that’d most certainly worsen the situation. Consult and trust Him for guidance.
The Holy Spirit knows and has the blueprint for your greatness and prosperity. Your greatness is His plan and His idea. He said to Abraham, “…I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2). Never suppose that your greatness is dependent upon your works or anyone. As the seed of Abraham, greatness is in you, harnessed and brought to the fore as you follow God’s instructions and fulfill His purpose for your life.
CONFESSION
I’m the seed of Abraham, graced for greatness and anointed to be fruitful and productive in every good work. I’ve been ordained to prosper and to live in glory. Therefore, I live the glorious life, fulfilling my purpose and destiny in Christ. Great things are happening for me and through me, by the power of the Word and the ability of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
