단순하게 기도하십시오

“또 기도할 때에 이방인과 같이 중언부언하지 말라 그들은 말을 많이 하여야 들으실 줄 생각하느니라”(마 6:7)
어떤 사람들은 끔찍한 상황에 있을 때 필요한 것은 강력한 기도라고 믿습니다. 그러나 강력한 기도가 정확히 어떤 기도입니까? 어떤 사람들은 기도의 결과가 그들이 얼마나 많은 단어를 쏟아 내는지와 얼마나 크게 기도하는지에 달려있다고 생각합니다. 그러나 당신의 기도 소리의 크기나 말하는 단어의 수가 기도의 결과를 좌우하지 않습니다. 주님과 그분의 말씀에 대한 당신의 믿음 즉 그분에 대한 당신의 확신이 중요합니다.
이는 기도를 흥분되게 만들 뿐만 아니라 간단하게 만듭니다. 오늘의 본문 구절에서 주님께서 훈계하신 내용의 본질이기도 합니다. 주님은 “기도할 때 빈말을 되풀이하면 들어줄 거라 잘못 생각하는 이방인처럼 기도하지 말라.”고 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님은 우리의 기도를 듣는 것이 어렵지 않으십니다. 성경은 당신이 구하기도 전에 하나님께서 당신이 필요로 하는 것이 무엇인지 알고 계신다고 말합니다(마 6:8). 그러므로 예수님처럼 기도하는 법을 배우십시오. 그분은 단순하게 기도하고 행하셨습니다. 그분이 나사로의 무덤에서 어떻게 기도하셨는지를 기억하십시오. 성경은 이렇게 말합니다. “돌을 옮겨 놓으니 예수께서 눈을 들어 우러러보시고 이르시되 아버지여 내 말을 들으신 것을 감사하나이다 항상 내 말을 들으시는 줄을 내가 알았나이다 그러나 이 말씀 하옵는 것은 둘러선 무리를 위함이니 곧 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것을 그들로 믿게 하려 함이니이다 이 말씀을 하시고 큰 소리로 나사로야 나오라 부르시니”(요 11:41-43)
예수님은 마가복음 11:23-24에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 누구든지 이 산더러 들리어 바다에 던져지라 하며 그 말하는 것이 이루어질 줄 믿고 마음에 의심하지 아니하면 그대로 되리라 그러므로 내가 너희에게 말하노니 무엇이든지 기도하고 구하는 것은 받은 줄로 믿으라 그리하면 너희에게 그대로 되리라” 이것입니다! 그러므로 단순하게 기도하십시오. 믿음을 가지고 기도하고, 당신이 그분의 임재 안에서 가지고 있는 아버지의 사랑과 기도응답에 대한 확신을 가지십시오.

사랑하는 아버지, 내 심령 안에 있는 아버지의 말씀에 감사드립니다. 기도 가운데 내 입으로 그 말씀을 말함으로 나의 환경과 상황들에 변화를 일으킵니다. 성령의 능력이 내 안에 역사하고 있으며 영광에서 영광에 이르도록 내 삶에 변화를 일으킵니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

KEEP IT SIMPLE
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking (Matthew 6:7).
Some people believe what they need when they’re in a dire situation is a powerful prayer, but what exactly is a powerful prayer? To some, it has to do with the multiplicity of words or how loud they’re able to shout when they pray. But really, what produces result isn’t the intensity of your shout or multiplicity of your words; rather, it’s your faith in the Lord and His Word—your confidence in the One to whom you pray.
This makes prayer not only exciting, but also something to keep simple. That’s the essence of the Master’s admonition in our theme verse. He said, “Don’t pray like the heathen, who erroneously think they’ll be heard for using vain repetitions.” God isn’t hard of hearing. The Bible says He already knows what you need before you ask Him (Matthew 6:8). Therefore, learn to pray like Jesus. He prayed and acted simply. Recall the simple way He prayed at the tomb of Lazarus. The Bible says, “…And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth” (John 11:41-43).
Jesus said in Mark 11:23-24, “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” That’s it! So, make your prayers simple. Pray with faith, confident of the Father’s love for you and the guarantee of hearing that you have in His presence.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your Word in my heart, which comes forth from my lips in prayer, to effect changes in circumstances and situations around me. The power of the Holy Spirit is at work in me, bringing about a transformation in my life, from glory to glory, in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.
