새 생명을 지닌 새로운 피조물
A New Creature with A New Life
“그러므로 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라. 옛 것들은 지나갔으니, 보라, 모든 것이 새롭게 되었도다.”(고후 5:17, 한글킹제임스)
거듭났을 때 당신은 그리스도 안으로 태어나고 침례를 받은 것입니다. 고린도전서 12:13(한글킹제임스)은 말씀합니다. “…한 성령에 의하여 우리 모두가 한 몸 안으로 침례를 받았으며…” 당신은 그리스도의 몸 안으로 침례를 받아서, 새 사람 곧 새 생명을 지닌 새로운 피조물이 되었습니다. 킹제임스 성경은 “피조물”이라는 말을 사용하는데, 이것이 다른 번역본에서 쓰이는 “창조”라는 말보다 훨씬 더 정확합니다. “새로운 피조물”이라는 의미는 당신이 어떤 종류에 속한 자 곧 특별한 존재라는 뜻입니다.
그러나 그게 전부가 아닙니다. 오늘의 본문구절의 후반부는 “…옛 것들은 지나갔으니, 보라, 모든 것이 새롭게 되었도다.”라고 말씀하는데. “보라”는 말에는 많은 이들이 이 구절에서 그 중요성에 별로 주목하지 않지만 상당한 의미가 담겨있습니다. 이 단어는 어떤 진리에 주목하라는 말입니다. “보라, 모든 것이 새롭게 되었도다.” 하나님은 당신이 새롭게 된 모든 것을 보기를 원하십니다. 거듭날 때 당신은 새 생명을 받고 새로운 존재가 되어 옛 생명과 본성은 하나님의 신성한 본성으로 교체됩니다.
거듭났을 때 당신 안에서 일어난 변화는 그저 단순한 변화가 아니라 당신의 인간 영이 실제로 재창조된 것이었습니다. 그게 바로 진정한 기독교입니다. 당신의 부모에게서 태어나 받은 생명이 멸망할 수 없는 하나님의 생명으로 실제로 교체되었습니다. 당신은 새로운 탄생을 통해 하나님께 살아있게 되었습니다.
당신은 그저 종교적으로 된 자가 아니라 과거가 없이 새 생명을 지닌 새 사람입니다. 성경이 “옛 것들은 지나갔으니”라고 말하는 것은 곧 죄와 패배와 질병과 실패와 죽음에 굴복했던 예전의 본성에 대해 말하고 있는 것입니다. 그 예전의 본성은 죽고 사라졌습니다. 모든 것이 새롭게 되었는데, 이 새로운 모든 것은 전부 하나님께 속한 것입니다. 고린도후서 5:18을 읽어보십시오.
당신의 생명과 관련된 모든 것이 이제 그 안에 신성을 담고 있습니다. 지금의 당신과 당신의 “과거”는 아무런 연관이 없습니다. 실제로 과거가 없기 때문입니다. “그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새 생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라”(롬 6:4)
고백
나는 새로운 피조물이요 전적으로 새로운 종족입니다. 나는 보통 사람이 아닙니다. 나는 하나님의 피조물 가운데 첫 번째요 최고입니다. 나는 하는 모든 일에서 형통합니다. 나의 삶은 전능하신 하나님의 아름다움과 영광과 은혜의 표현입니다. 하나님의 의가 내 안에서 그리고 나를 통해 드러납니다. 할렐루야!

A NEW CREATURE WITH A NEW LIFE
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
When you were born again, you were born and baptized into Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:13 says, “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body…”; you were baptized into the body of Christ, a new man, a new creature with a new life. The King James Version uses the word “creature,” which is a lot more accurate than the word “creation” as used in some other translations. Being a “new creature” means you’re one of a kind; a special or peculiar being. But that’s not all; the latter part of our opening scripture says, “…old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” The underlined word, “behold” means a lot, even though not so many pay attention to its importance in that verse. It’s a word that calls your attention to a truth: God wants you to SEE that all things have become new. When you’re born again, you have a new life; you’re a new being; the old life and nature are supplanted by God’s divine nature. It wasn’t just a mere change that took place in you when you were born again; it was an actual recreation of your human spirit; there was an actual replacement of the life with which you were born of your parents, with the indestructible life of God. You’ve come alive to God through the New Birth. You’re not someone who has merely become religious; you’re a new person, with a new life, without a past. Understand when the Bible says, “…old things are passed away…”; it’s talking about the old nature that was subject to sin, defeat, sickness, failure and death?it’s dead and gone. All things have become new, and all these new things are of God (2 Corinthians 5:18). Everything about your life now carries divinity in it. There’s no connection between you and your “past,” because in actual fact, there’s no past: “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4).
CONFESSION
I’m a new creature, a brand new species of being. I’m not ordinary. I’m the first and the best of God’s creatures. I prosper in all I do. My life is an expression of the beauty, glory, and grace of Almighty God. His righteousness is revealed in, and through me. Hallelujah!
