“갈렙이 모세 앞에서 백성을 조용하게 하고 이르되 우리가 곧 올라가서 그 땅을 취하자 능히 이기리라 하나”(민 13:30)
민수기 13장은 하나님이 어떻게 모세에게 모든 지파 중에서 사람들을 보내어 가나안 땅을 정탐하게 하셨는지를 이야기합니다. 이 열두 명은 가나안에 잠입한 후 모세에게 보고 했어야 했습니다. 그들이 정탐한 것에 대한 보고를 가지고 돌아왔을 때 그들은 가나안 땅이 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 아름다운 나라라는 것을 확인했고 그 땅의 열매들을 증거로 제시했습니다.
그러나 안타깝게도 열두 명의 정탐꾼 중 열 명은 자신들의 약점과 가나안에 살고 있는 사람들이 얼마나 강한지와 그들의 도시가 얼마나 거대하고 큰지를 보고 비탄에 빠졌습니다. 설상가상으로 아낙 자손의 거인들을 보고 나자 두려움이 그들의 심령을 사로잡았습니다. 민수기 13:31, 33에 나온 그들의 비참한 보고를 읽어보십시오.
가나안 땅은 그 거주민을 삼키는 땅이라는 우울한 보고는 이스라엘 백성들을 낙심하게 했습니다. 그러나 두 정탐꾼 갈렙과 여호수아는 다르게 말했습니다. 그들은 승리와 가능성들을 보았습니다. 그래서 그들은 이렇게 말했습니다. “우리가 곧 올라가서 그 땅을 취하자 능히 이기리라 하나”(민 13:30) 그들은 회중을 향해서도 말했습니다. “다만 여러분은 주님을 거역하지만 마십시오. 여러분은 그 땅 백성들을 두려워하지 마십시오. 그들은 우리의 밥입니다. 그들의 방어력은 사라졌습니다. 주님께서 우리와 함께 계시니 그들을 두려워하지 마십시오.”(민 14:9, 새번역)
절대 당신을 비난하거나 대적하는 사람들로 인해 겁먹지 마십시오. 만일 당신이 사업가라면 경쟁업체들이 얼마나 영향력이 있는지 혹은 대기업들이 얼마나 위협적인지에 대해 깊이 생각하지 마십시오. 당신이 경쟁해야 하는 수많은 일류 다국적 기업들로 인해 불안해하지 마십시오. 당신은 아브라함의 자손입니다. 그러므로 당신이 더 유리합니다.
다르게 보고 다르게 말하십시오. 영의 눈으로 보십시오. 말씀을 통해 보십시오. 당신의 눈 앞에 있는 벅찬 도전들과 상관없이 당신의 승리와 성공과 진보를 보십시오. 하나님을 찬양합니다!
기도
나는 승리와 가능성만 봅니다. 나는 담대하고 용감합니다. 내가 직면한 도전이나 상황과 관계없이 나는 승리합니다. 그것들은 나의 “밥”입니다. 하나님의 변함 없는 영원한 말씀만을 바라볼 때 나는 지속적으로 승리하고 건강하며 성공하고 부요하고 의 가운데 살아갑니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

SEE VICTORIES AND POSSIBILITIES
Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it (Numbers 13:30 NKJV).
Numbers 13 tells the story of God, instructing
Moses to send a man out of every tribe to
spy out the land of Canaan. These twelve men were to
infiltrate Canaan and report back to Moses. However,
when they returned to the camp with the feedback
of their surveillance, they all confirmed the land of
Canaan to be a magnificent country—a land flowing
with milk and honey—and even presented some of its
fruits as proof.
But quite sadly, ten out of the twelve spies
bewailed their weakness and how the inhabitants of
Canaan were fierce, and how huge and well fortified
their cities were. Worse yet, they lamented how fear
gripped their hearts on sighting the descendants of the
giant, Anak in the land. Read their distressing report in
Numbers 13:31, 33).
This news of gloom of how the land devours its
inhabitants aroused discouragement in the hearts
of the Israelites. But two of these spies—Caleb and
Joshua—spoke differently. They saw victories and
possibilities; therefore, they interrupted the people
saying, “…Let us go up at once and take possession,
for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30
NKJV). They further charged the assembly, “Just don’t
rebel against GOD! And don’t be afraid of those
people. Why, we’ll have them for lunch! They have no
protection and GOD is on our side. Don’t be afraid
of them!” (Numbers 14:9 MSG).
Never be intimidated by your detractors and
adversaries. If you’re a business person for example,
don’t wallow in deep thoughts about how influential
your competitors are or get intimidated by the high-rise
conglomerates close to you. Don’t become unsettled
at the many blue-chip multinationals you have to
contend with. You’re the seed of Abraham; therefore,
you have the advantage.
See and talk differently. See through the eyes of
the Spirit. See through the Word. Irrespective of the
daunting challenges that may stare you in the face,
see your victory, success, your triumphs and your
advancements. Praise God!
PRAYER
I see victories and possibilities only; I’m bold and courageous. I win, irrespective of the challenges and circumstances that I face; they’re “bread” for me. As I set my gaze on God’s unfailing and eternal Word, I walk continually in victory, health, success, prosperity and righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
