당신의 참된 본성에 대한 지식
Knowledge Of Your True Nature
“내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓰는 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라…”(요일 5:13)
하나님께서는 당신이 누구인지 알기를 원하십니다. 추측하는 것도 아니고, 가정하는 것도 아니고, 아는 것입니다. 사도 요한은 성령으로 말미암아 이렇게 기록합니다. “내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓴 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라” 이것은 당신의 정체성에 관한 것입니다. 당신이 지금 그리스도 안에서 무엇을 가지고 있으며 누구인지에 관한 것입니다. 당신은 영생, 곧 신성한 생명을 가지고 있기 때문에 신성합니다.
우리가 읽은 본문 말씀을 기록한 사도 요한을 떠올려 보십시오. 대박해가 일어나던 시기에 사도 요한이 체포되었고, 사람들은 그를 산 채로 기름에 튀기려고 큰 끓는 솥에 집어넣었습니다. 그들은 그를 죽이기로 결심했습니다. 그러나 불이 다 타버리고 꺼졌을 때, 요한은 일어섰습니다. 그들은 사도 요한을 죽일 수 없었습니다. 사도 요한에게는 특별한 무언가가 있었기 때문입니다.
그래서 “성자 요한(St. John the Divine)”이라는 표현이 생겨났습니다. 사람들은 사도 요한이 어떤 자인지 설명할 수 없었습니다. 그들은 말했습니다. “이 사람은 평범한 사람이 아니다.” 그래서 그들은 그를 밧모섬으로 추방시켰습니다. 이제 생각해 보십시오. 요한만이 신성했습니까? 아닙니다. 그를 신성하게 만든 것은 그가 가진 생명, 곧 그 안에 있는 하나님의 영생과 그 생명에 대한 의식이었습니다.
당신이 그리스도 안에서 받은 것이 바로 그 생명입니다. 성경은 당신이 신성한 본성에 참여하는 자라고 말합니다(벧후 1:4). 이는 당신이 평범한 사람이 아니라는 뜻입니다. 당신은 그저 일반적인 사람이 아닙니다. 당신은 하나님과 같은 존재입니다. 당신의 영에 하나님의 생명이 있기 때문입니다. 그러나 이 진리가 당신에게 분명히 깨달아져야 합니다. 그렇지 않으면 당신은 자연적인 관점에서 생각하고, 말하고, 반응할 것입니다. 그러나 그것은 당신의 진정한 정체성이 아닙니다.
성경이 “… 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라”고 말할 때, 이는 하나님께서 당신이 그 계시를 알고 그것으로 기능하기를 원하신다는 뜻입니다. 하나님은 그 진리가 당신의 현재 의식 속에 있기를 원하십니다. 하나님은 당신 안에 있는 생명이 신성하다는 것을 당신이 온전히 인식하기를 원하십니다. 하나님은 이것이 당신에게 실재가 될 때, 당신의 반응이 당신의 본성을 드러내게 되고, 당신의 기대 또한 당신 안에 있는 생명에 걸맞은 수준으로 높아질 것을 아십니다. 할렐루야!
고백
나는 신성한 본성에 참여하는 자이고, 내 안에 있는 하나님의 생명을 온전히 의식하며 삽니다. 나는 통치권과 담대함과 승리 가운데 행하며, 내가 행하는 모든 일에서 그리스도를 나타냅니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR TRUE NATURE
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life…” (1 John 5:13).
God wants you to know who you are. Not to guess, not to assume, but to know. The Apostle John, writing by the Spirit, says, “These things have I written unto you…that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” This is about your identity—what you have and who you are in Christ NOW. You’re divine because you have eternal life, the divine life.
Consider the Apostle John, who wrote what we read in our theme scripture. During the time of the Great Persecution, after John had been arrested, they put him in a large boiling pot to fry him alive. They were determined to destroy him. But when the fire had burnt out and consumed itself, John stood up. They couldn’t kill him because there was something about him.
That’s how the expression came about, “St. John the Divine.” They couldn’t explain him. They said, “This is not an ordinary man.” So they banished him to the island of Patmos and left him there. Now think about it: was John the only one who was divine? No. What made him divine was the life he had, the eternal life of God in him, and the consciousness of that life.
That same life is what you’ve received in Christ. The Bible says you’re a partaker of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). That means you’re not an ordinary person. You’re not merely human. You’re a God-being because you have the life of God in your spirit. But this must dawn on you otherwise, you’ll think, talk, and respond from a natural standpoint. Yet that’s not your true identity.
When the Bible says, “…that ye may know that you have eternal life,” it means God wants you to know and function by that revelation. He wants it in your present-hour consciousness. He wants you to be fully aware that the life in you is divine. He knows that when this becomes real to you, your responses will reflect your nature and your expectations will rise to match the life in you. Hallelujah!

I’m a partaker of the divine nature, and I live in the full consciousness of the God-life in me. I walk in dominion, boldness, and victory, manifesting Christ in all that I do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
