His Presence And Support
“내가 너희에게 분부한 모든 것을 가르쳐 지키게 하라 볼지어다 내가 세상 끝날까지 너희와 항상 함께 있으리라 하시니라”(마 28:20)
승리하는 믿음은 하나님이 당신 안에 계시고, 당신과 함께하시고, 당신을 위해 계시며, 당신에게 그분의 사랑을 부어주신다는 인식의 결과입니다. 이 지식은 당신을 무적의 존재로 만듭니다. 이 지식은 당신에게 거인을 쓰러뜨리는 자의 사고방식을 줍니다. 당신은 삶에서 어떤 일이 일어나든지 영원한 승리자라는 것을 알게 됩니다. 당신 안에 더 크신 분이 계시므로 당신은 정복자보다 더 나은 자입니다.
이 사고방식은 다윗이 골리앗을 마주했을 때 그를 다른 사람들과 구별되게 만들었습니다. 다윗은 다른 이스라엘 군인들과 마찬가지로 골리앗의 위협을 들었지만, 그는 자신은 할례를 받았고 골리앗은 받지 않았다는 사실에 집중했습니다. 할례는 하나님과 아브라함 사이의 언약의 표시였습니다. 그 언약 안에 있다면 하나님과 연결되어 있다는 뜻이었습니다. 할례를 받지 않았다면 할례를 받은 사람들을 대적할 힘이 없었습니다.
다윗의 확신은 이러한 이해에서 비롯되었습니다. 그는 말했습니다. “…이 할례 받지 않은 블레셋 사람이 누구이기에 살아 계시는 하나님의 군대를 모욕하겠느냐”(삼상 17:26) 다윗에게 골리앗은 상대가 되지 않았습니다. 이스라엘은 아브라함의 하나님과 연결되어 있었기 때문입니다. 이는 하나님의 자녀인 우리에게 강력한 교훈입니다. 우리는 평범한 사람들이 아닙니다.
우리를 대적하는 사람은 결국 하나님을 대적하는 것입니다. 이는 과하게 들릴 수도 있지만 진리입니다. 사울이 교회를 핍박하던 때가 나타난 사도행전 9:4에서 예수님은 이 진리에 대해 강조하셨습니다. 주님은 사울에게 “…사울아 사울아 네가 어찌하여 나를 박해하느냐”고 말씀하셨습니다. 그리고 오늘의 본문 구절에서 예수님은 “볼지어다 내가 세상 끝날까지 너희와 항상 함께 있으리라”(마 28:20)고 말씀하셨습니다. 예수님이 이렇게 말씀하셨을 때, 그분은 당신이 그분의 임재와 도움을 가지고 있다고 의미하셨습니다.
하나님의 임재와 도움이 있는데 어떻게 패배할 수 있겠습니까? 하나님의 도움을 받는다는 것은 하늘의 모든 무기고와 자원을 지원받는다는 뜻입니다. 하나님의 모든 부와 영광과 능력과 천사들이 당신을 위해 준비되어 있습니다. 이 확신은 단지 위로의 생각이 아니라 우리가 그분을 위해 담대하게 살고 복음을 변호하며 살도록 힘을 주는 실재입니다. 그분의 임재와 도움으로 당신은 멈출 수 없습니다.
다윗이 살아 계신 하나님의 도움을 받는다는 것을 알고 골리앗을 향해 담대히 섰던 것처럼, 당신도 하나님이 당신과 함께하실 뿐만 아니라 그분의 영으로 말미암아 그분의 충만 가운데 당신 안에 계신다는 지식 안에 굳건히 설 수 있습니다. 그러므로 그 어떤 대적이나 역경도 당신을 이길 수 없습니다. 당신이 하나님과 연결되어 있기 때문입니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 내 안에 거하시는 하나님의 임재와 내 안에서 역사하시는 하나님의 능력에 감사드립니다. 하나님께서 나를 위해 창조하신 길과 운명 안에 걸어갈 때, 하나님의 영광과 하늘의 모든 자원이 나에게 주어지므로 그 무엇도 나를 대적할 수 없습니다. 하나님과 내가 끊을 수 없는 하나가 되게 하심에 감사드립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HIS PRESENCE AND SUPPORT
“And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).
Prevailing faith is the result of your consciousness that God is in you, with you and for you, and has lavished His love upon you. This knowledge makes you invincible; it gives the giant-killer mentality. You just know that in life, come what may, you’re a victor forever; you’re more than a conqueror because the greater One lives in you.
This mindset was what set David apart in his day when he confronted Goliath. David heard the same threats from Goliath as the rest of the Israelite army but he focused on the fact that he was circumcised and Goliath wasn’t. Circumcision was the sign of the covenant between God and Abraham. If you were part of that covenant, it meant you were connected to God. If you weren’t circumcised, you had no power against those who were.
David’s confidence came from this understanding. He said, “…Who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” (1 Samuel 17:26, NKJV). To David, Goliath was no match because Israel was connected to the God of Abraham. This is a powerful lesson for us as God’s children. We’re not ordinary people.
Anyone who’s against us is ultimately against God. This might sound overwhelming, but it’s the truth. Jesus emphasized this in Acts 9:4 when Saul was persecuting the Church. The Lord said to him, “…Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” Then in our opening verse, we read we read where He said, “And lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). When He said this, He meant, you have my presence, and you have my support.
How could you be defeated when you have His presence and His support? To have His support means you’re backed by all the arsenal and resources of heaven. His entire wealth, all His glory and power, and His angels are available to you. This assurance is not just a comforting thought but a reality that empowers us to live boldly for Him and in defence of the Gospel. With His presence and support, you’re unstoppable.
Just as David stood confidently against Goliath, knowing he was backed by the living God, you too can stand firm in the knowledge that God isn’t only with you, He’s in you by His Spirit, in His fullness. Therefore, no adversary or adversity can prevail against you because you’re connected to Him. Glory to God!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your indwelling presence and your power at work in me. Nothing can stand against me successfully, for your glory, and all the resources of heaven are available to me as I walk in the path and destiny that you’ve created for me. Thank you for my inextricable oneness with you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
