천국을 의식하십시오
Be Heaven-Conscious
“그러나 너희가 이른 곳은 시온 산과 살아 계신 하나님의 도성인 하늘의 예루살렘과 천만 천사와 하늘에 기록된 장자들의 총회와 교회와 만민의 심판자이신 하나님과…”(히 12:22-23)
저는 예전에 불렀던 오래된 노래가 생각납니다. “그곳에는 밤이 없네, 그곳에는 밤이 없네, 할렐루야! 그곳에는 밤이 없네! 예수님은 천국의 빛이시네, 할렐루야, 그곳에는 밤이 없네!” 우리는 그 노래를 부를 때 천국을 생각했습니다. 이는 중요합니다. 성경은 “주를 향하여 이 소망을 가진 자마다 그의 깨끗하심과 같이 자기를 깨끗하게 하느니라”(요일 3:3)고 말하기 때문입니다.
당신은 천국에 대해 생각해야 합니다. 그렇지 않으면 당신이 세상에서 하는 모든 일은 무의미합니다. 그러나 우리는 이미 옛 시인이 “밝은 천국”이라고 불렀던 그 도시에 속해 있습니다. 그 도시는 위대한 왕의 도시 시온이라고 불립니다. 우리는 밝은 천국의 시민입니다. 밤은 어둠을 의미하지만 우리는 낮의 자녀입니다. 하나님으로부터 태어난 당신은 영원한 낮으로 태어났습니다. 당신의 삶에는 더 이상 밤이 없습니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!
성경은 말합니다. “…의인의 길은 돋는 햇살 같아서 크게 빛나 한낮의 광명에 이르거니와”(잠 4:18) 어둠은 사라졌습니다. 빛이 왔습니다. 어둠은 사탄과 관련된 모든 악한 것, 사악한 것, 타락한 것을 의미합니다. 그러나 빛은 하나님과 그분의 복음 안에 있는 그리스도의 신성한 공급을 포함한 모든 선한 것을 의미합니다.
성경이 “너희는 다 빛의 아들이요 낮의 아들이라 우리가 밤이나 어둠에 속하지 아니하나니”(살전 5:5) 라고 말하는 것은 당연합니다. 주님의 재림을 기다리며 이러한 생각들이 당신의 마음을 가득 채우게 하십시오. 기대하십시오. 그리고 성경이 말한 대로 행하십시오. “위의 것을 생각하고 땅의 것을 생각하지 말라”(골 3:2)
그러나 진정으로 천국을 의식하고, 천국의 유익이자 세상의 축복이 되려면 복음을 전파해야 합니다. 그러므로 항상 다른 사람들에게 그리스도의 사랑을 나누고, 예수님을 주님으로 고백하고 영접한 모든 사람이 태어난 이 밝은 천국 도시, 곧 영원한 빛의 도시를 그들에게 전하십시오!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나를 살아 계신 하나님의 도시인 하늘 예루살렘의 시민으로 삼아 주셔서 감사합니다. 내 마음은 위에 있는 것들에 있고, 나는 날마다 하나님의 말씀의 빛 가운데 걷습니다. 나는 천국에 대한 의식을 가지고 살며, 하나님의 영광을 발산하고 많은 사람을 이 영원한 빛의 도시로 인도합니다. 주님의 재림에 대한 소망에 감사드리며, 나는 나의 신성한 목적에 집중합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

BE HEAVEN-CONSCIOUS
“But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven…” (Hebrews 12:22-23).
I remember an old song we sang back in the day, “There’s no night there, there’s no night there, hallelujah! There’s s no night there! For Jesus is the Light in the heavenly city bright, hallelujah, there’s no night there!” When we sang that song years ago, we were thinking about heaven, and that’s important because the Bible says, “…every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure” (1 John 3:3).
You’ve got to think about heaven; otherwise, everything you’re doing in the world is worthless. But we already belong in that city, which the old songwriter referred to as the “heavenly city bright”; it’s called Zion, the city of the great King. We’re citizens of that bright heavenly city. The night refers to the darkness, but we’re children of the day. Being born of God, you were born into the everlasting day; no more night in your life. Glory to God!
The Bible says, “…The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Proverbs 4:18). The darkness is gone. The light has come. Darkness refers to everything sinister, evil, depraved, and of Satan. But light refers to God and all that’s good and the divine provisions of Christ in His Gospel.
No wonder the Bible says, “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness” (1 Thessalonians 5:5). Let these thoughts fill your heart as you anticipate the Lord’s soon return. Be excited. Be expectant. And as the Scripture says, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth” (Colossians 3:2).
But you know, to be truly heaven-conscious, and to be of heaven’s use and a blessing to the world, you have to preach the Gospel. Therefore, always share Christ’s love with others and tell them about this bright heavenly city into which everyone who confesses and receives Jesus as Lord is born—the city of everlasting light!
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for making me a citizen of the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. My heart is set on things above, and I walk daily in the light of your Word. I live with the consciousness of heaven, radiating your glory and leading many into this everlasting city of light. Thank you for the hope of your return, which keeps me focused on my divine purpose, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
