He Is Lord Jesus
“내가 볼 때에 그의 발 앞에 엎드러져 죽은 자 같이 되매 그가 오른손을 내게 얹고 이르시되 두려워하지 말라 나는 처음이요 마지막이니”(계 1:17)
주 예수님과 동행하고 그분을 진정으로 섬기려면 그분이 어떤 분이신지 알아야 합니다. 그분을 알지 못한다면 그분을 존경할 수 없습니다. 그분을 알지 못한다면 그분을 사랑할 수 없습니다. 어떤 사람들이 그분의 이름을 부르는 방식은 그들이 그분의 신성한 정체성과 최고의 주권을 진정으로 인식하고 있는지 알려줍니다.
예를 들어, 예수님이 부활하시고 승천하신 후, 그분을 부른 사람들 중 그분을 예수님이라고 부른 사람은 없습니다. 그들은 그분을 주 예수님이라고 불렀습니다. 그분은 주 예수님이십니다! 그분을 진정으로 만난 사람들은 그분을 그렇게 불렀습니다. 다소의 사울을 떠올려 보십시오. 그는 다마스커스로 가는 길에 신성한 능력에 의해 쓰러졌고, “주여, 당신은 누구십니까?”라고 말했습니다.
사울이 “나는 예수다”라는 대답을 듣는 순간, 그의 경외심은 바뀌었습니다. 그가 실제로 예수님을 만났기 때문입니다. 누가가 기록한 내용을 읽어보십시오. “땅에 엎드러져 들으매 소리가 있어 이르시되 사울아 사울아 네가 어찌하여 나를 박해하느냐 하시거늘 대답하되 주여 누구시니이까 이르시되 나는 네가 박해하는 예수라 너는 일어나 시내로 들어가라 네가 행할 것을 네게 이를 자가 있느니라 하시니”(행 9:4-6)
많은 사람들이 그분을 보았다고 말하지만 여전히 그분께 경외심 없이 말합니다. 영광스럽게 된 그리스도를 진정으로 만나면 그분께 혹은 그분에 대해 말하는 방식이 바뀝니다. 당신은 그분의 위엄을 인식하게 됩니다. 당신은 그분의 주되심을 존중하게 됩니다. 사도 요한은 밧모섬에서 영광 중에 계신 그분을 보았고, 그의 반응은 요한계시록 1장 17절에 기록되어 있습니다. “내가 볼 때에 그의 발 앞에 엎드러져 죽은 자 같이 되매…”
요한은 무언가를 받았기 때문에 쓰러진 것이 아니라 신성한 영광의 나타남으로 인해 그 권세 아래 쓰러졌습니다. 그때 주님께서 요한에게 손을 얹으시고 축복의 말씀을 하셨습니다. “두려워하지 말라 나는 처음이요 마지막이니”(계 1:17) 바로 이분이 영광스럽게 되신 그리스도이십니다.
당신의 경배, 말, 삶은 하나님께 대한 최고의 영광, 가장 깊은 경외심, 최고의 존경심을 나타내야 합니다. 그분은 “복스러운 소망과 우리의 크신 하나님 구주 예수 그리스도의 영광이 나타나심을 기다리게 하셨으니 그가 우리를 대신하여 자신을 주심은 모든 불법에서 우리를 속량하시고 우리를 깨끗하게 하사 선한 일을 열심히 하는 자기 백성이 되게 하려 하심이라”(딛 2:13-14) 그분은 만유의 주님이시며, 하늘과 땅의 주님이십니다(행 10:36, 행 17:24).
기도
복되신 주 예수님, 예수님의 주되심과 영광을 내 영에 나타내 주시니 감사합니다. 나의 경배, 말, 삶은 주님의 위엄, 비할 데 없는 위대함, 통치권, 위대한 영광, 영원한 통치에 대한 최고의 존경과 가장 깊은 경외심을 나타냅니다. 아멘.

HE IS LORD JESUS
“And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last” (Revelation 1:17).
To walk with the Lord Jesus and truly serve Him, you must know who He really is. You can’t honour Him if you don’t know Him. You can’t love Him if you don’t know Him. Oftentimes, the way some call His Name reveals whether or not they truly recognize His divine identity and supreme lordship.
For example, after His resurrection and ascension, no one who addressed Him called Him Jesus; they called Him Lord Jesus. He’s Lord Jesus! That’s what those who truly encountered Him called Him. Consider Saul of Tarsus; he was knocked down by divine power on the road to Damascus and said, “Who are you, Lord?”
The moment he heard the answer, “I am Jesus”, his reverence changed because he had a real encounter. Read it as Luke puts it: “And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks” (Acts 9:4-6).
Many say they have seen Him, yet continue to address Him without reverence. A true encounter with the glorified Christ transforms how you speak to Him or about Him. You recognise His majesty. You honour His lordship. John the Apostle saw Him in glory on the Isle of Patmos, and his response was recorded in Revelation 1:17: “When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead.”
He fell under the power, not because he received something, but because of the manifestation of divine glory. Then the Master laid His hand upon him and spoke a blessing: “Fear not; I am the first and the last.” This is the glorified Christ.
Your worship, your words, and your life should reflect the greatest honour, the deepest awe, and the utmost reverence for Him. He is “…the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works” (Titus 2:13-14). He’s Lord of all, and Lord of heaven and earth (Acts 10:36, Acts 17:24).
PRAYER
Blessed Lord Jesus, I thank you for unveiling your lordship and glory to my spirit. My worship, my words, and my life reflect the greatest honour, the deepest awe, and the utmost reverence for your majesty, unparalleled greatness, dominion, great glory, and everlasting reign. Amen.
