“야곱이 버드나무와 살구나무와 신풍나무 푸른 가지를 가져다가 그것들의 껍질을 벗겨서 흰 무늬를 내고…”(창 30:37)
창세기 30장과 31장에 나오는 야곱의 이야기는 비전과 상상의 능력을 보여주는 흥미로운 예시입니다. 야곱이 라반을 위해 일하기로 동의했을 때, 그는 임금으로 가축을 받기로 약속받았습니다. 그러나 라반은 계속해서 조건을 바꾸고 야곱을 속였습니다. 하지만 야곱은 신성한 지혜와 창의적인 전략을 통해 상황을 역전시켰습니다.
야곱은 푸른 버드나무, 개암나무, 밤나무에서 가지를 꺾어 흰 줄무늬가 나타나도록 껍질을 벗겼습니다. 그리고 양 떼들이 물을 마시러 오는 물 구유에 그 가지들을 놓았습니다. 동물들이 그 가지들 앞에서 짝짓기를 하자, 야곱이 원하던 모습 그대로의 새끼들이 태어났습니다. 나중에 야곱은 더 이상 그 가지들이 필요하지 않았습니다. 그는 어리거나, 점이 있거나, 얼룩덜룩한 동물들을 분리하여 더 튼튼한 가축들 앞에 두었습니다. 이렇게 함으로써 그는 양 떼들에게 비전을 심어주었고, 양 떼들은 그들이 본 대로 생산했습니다.
야곱의 방법은 비전의 창조적 능력을 보여줍니다. 그는 결과에 영향을 미치기 위해 상상력을 사용했습니다. 야곱은 강한 가축들이 임신했을 때, 그들의 눈앞에 막대기를 놓아 강하고 바람직한 자손을 낳게 했습니다. 가축들이 약할 때는 막대기를 사용하지 않았기 때문에 약한 가축들은 라반의 것이 되었습니다.
시간이 지남에 따라 야곱의 양 떼들은 더욱 강하고 많아졌고, 라반의 양 떼들은 여전히 약했습니다. 야곱의 성공은 신성한 계시 덕분이었습니다. 꿈에서 야곱은 숫양들이 얼룩지고 점이 있고 회색을 띤 암양들에게 뛰어오르는 것을 보았습니다. 천사가 이 환상을 확인해 주며 이렇게 말했습니다. “이제 눈을 들어 보라. 가축 위에 올라탄 모든 숫양은 아롱아롱한 것과 얼룩얼룩한 것과 회색 무늬 있는 것이니라…”(창 31:12, 한글 킹제임스)
얼마나 중요한 사실입니까! 당신은 보고 싶은 것에 집중함으로써 당신이 원하는 미래를 창조할 수 있는 능력을 가지고 있습니다. 당신의 마음으로 당신이 원하는 비전을 창조하십시오. 당신 안에 역사하는 말씀과 성령의 능력을 통해 당신은 자신의 물리적 실재를 창조하거나 형성할 수 있습니다. 할렐루야!

사랑하는 아버지, 나에게 비전의 능력과 하나님의 말씀을 통해 내가 원하는 미래를 보고 창조할 수 있는 능력을 주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 하나님의 영으로 말미암아 영감을 받은 상상력을 사용하여 나의 삶을 하나님의 신성한 목적에 일치시키고, 모든 영역에서 승리와 확장을 이루어냅니다. 나는 내 세상에 영향을 미치고 나의 운명을 성취하도록 힘을 받았습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE POWER OF VISION AND IMAGINATION
“And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods…” (Genesis 30:37).
Jacob’s story in Genesis 30 and 31 is a fascinating demonstration of the power of vision and imagination. When Jacob agreed to work for Laban, he was promised cattle as wages. However, Laban repeatedly changed the terms and cheated Jacob. But Jacob, through divine wisdom and creative strategy, turned the situation around.
Jacob took rods from green poplar, hazel, and chestnut trees, and peeled white streaks on them to make the white appear. He placed these rods in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink. As the animals mated in front of the rods, they produced offspring that were exactly what Jacob desired. Later, Jacob no longer needed the rods. He separated the young, spotted, and speckled animals and set them before the stronger cattle. By doing this, he created a vision for the flocks, and they produced according to what they saw.
Jacob’s method was a demonstration of the creative power of vision. He used his imaginative ability to influence the outcome. When the stronger cattle conceived, Jacob placed the rods before their eyes, ensuring they produced strong, desirable offspring. When the cattle were feeble, he did not use the rods, so the weaker ones belonged to Laban.
Over time, Jacob’s flocks grew stronger and more abundant, while Laban’s remained feeble. Jacob’s success was by divine revelation. In a dream, he saw the rams leaping on the cattle as ringstraked, speckled, and grisled. An angel confirmed this vision, saying, “‘Lift your eyes now and see, all the rams which leap on the flocks are streaked, speckled, and gray spotted…” (Genesis 31:12c NKJV).
How important this is! You have the ability to create the future you desire by focusing on what you want to see. Create the vision that you want with your mind. Through the Word and power of the Holy Spirit at work in you, you can create or shape your physical reality. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for giving me the ability to see and create my desired future through the power of vision and by your Word. As I use my imaginative ability, inspired by your Spirit, I construct my life in alignment with your divine purpose, with victories and expansion in every area. I’m empowered to impact my world and fulfil my destiny, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
