“그러므로 주께서 친히 징조를 너희에게 주실 것이라 보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그의 이름을 임마누엘이라 하리라”(사 7:14)
히브리서 10:5-7은 주 예수님에 대해 정말 놀라운 사실을 알려줍니다. “그러므로 주께서 세상에 임하실 때에 이르시되… 하나님이여 보시옵소서 두루마리 책에 나를 가리켜 기록된 것과 같이 하나님의 뜻을 행하러 왔나이다 하시고” 그분은 예언을 성취하기 위해 오셨습니다. 그분에 관한 많은 예언이 그분이 베들레헴에서 태어나시기 500년 전에 주어졌다는 사실은 정말 놀랍습니다.
이 예언의 말씀들이 많은 다른 선지자들을 통해 오랜 시간에 걸쳐 주어졌음에도 불구하고, 오직 주 예수님만이 이 예언들을 성취하셨습니다. 그분이 진정 예언된 분이 아니시라면 한 사람이 그렇게 많은 세세하고 특별한 예언들을 성취하는 것은 불가능합니다.
예를 들어, 동정녀 탄생에 관한 예언을 보겠습니다. 이사야 7:14은 선포합니다. “그러므로 주께서 친히 징조를 너희에게 주실 것이라 보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그의 이름을 임마누엘이라 하리라” 이 예언은 마태복음 1:22-23에 묘사된 대로 예수님이 베들레헴에서 태어나신 후 성취되었습니다. “이 모든 일이 된 것은 주께서 선지자로 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이니 이르시되 보라 처녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳을 것이요 그의 이름은 임마누엘이라 하셨으니 이를 번역한즉 하나님이 우리와 함께 계시다 함이라”
예수님의 탄생지에 대한 예언은 미가서 5:2에서 찾을 수 있습니다. “베들레헴 에브라다야 너는 유다 족속 중에 작을지라도 이스라엘을 다스릴 자가 네게서 내게로 나올 것이라 그의 근본은 상고에, 태초에니라.” 그리고 우리는 마태복음 2:1에서 이 예언의 성취를 발견합니다. “헤롯 왕 때에 예수께서 유대 베들레헴에서 나시매 동방으로부터 박사들이 예루살렘에 이르러.”
이는 미가가 예언한 대로 메시아이신 예수님이 베들레헴이 그렇게 중요한 동네가 아니었음에도 불구하고 베들레헴에서 태어나셨음을 확인시켜 줍니다. 그러나 그분을 “그의 근본은 상고에, 태초에니라”고 묘사한 부분이 더욱 놀랍습니다. 이는 그분의 신성에 대해 분명하게 말해줍니다. 그분은 시간이 시작되기 전부터 존재하셨습니다.
예수님은 선지자들이 예언한 대로 유다의 베들레헴에서 태어나셨습니다. “영원부터 나신 이”라고 묘사될 수 있는 평범한 사람은 없습니다. 성경에 나오는 이러한 예언들과 다른 예언들은 그분의 신성을 확증하며, 예수님이 인간의 형상을 입으신 하나님이심을 보여줍니다. 할렐루야!

사랑하는 아버지, 내 영에 하나님의 말씀을 계시해 주셔서 예수님의 신성한 본성과 그분에 대해 증거하는 성경의 정확성을 이해할 수 있게 해주셔서 감사합니다. 내 믿음은 하나님의 완전한 말씀에 굳건히 뿌리내리고 있습니다. 나는 모든 것 위에 계신 주님으로서 예수님을 담대하게 선포합니다. 그분의 왕국은 영원히 세워져 있고, 나는 오늘 그리고 항상 그분의 승리의 빛 가운데 걷습니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE PROPHETIC AFFIRMATION OF CHRIST’S DEITY
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel” (Isaiah 7:14).
Hebrews 10:5-7 tells us something really remarkable about the Lord Jesus. It says, “Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith… Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.” He came to fulfil prophecies. It’s remarkable to note that many of the prophecies concerning Him were given over 500 years before He was born in Bethlehem.
Despite the long span of time and the many different prophets through whom these prophetic words were given, the Lord Jesus alone fulfilled these prophecies. It’s impossible for one person to fulfil so many detailed and extraordinary prophecies unless He’s truly the One spoken of.
For example, the prophecies regarding the Virgin Birth; Isaiah 7:14 declares, “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” This prophecy was fulfilled as described in Matthew 1:22-23, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem: “Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, ‘Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.'”
A prophecy of His place of Birth is found in Micah 5:2, and it says, “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” Again, we find the fulfilment of this prophecy in Matthew 2:1. It says, “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem.”
This confirms that Jesus, the Messiah, was indeed born in Bethlehem, as prophesied by Micah, despite the town’s humble significance. But even more profound is the description of Him as One “whose goings forth has been from of old, from everlasting.” This clearly speaks of His divine nature—He existed before time began.
Jesus was born exactly as the prophets foretold, in Bethlehem of Judah. No ordinary human being could be described as one “whose goings forth has been from everlasting.” These and other prophecies in Scripture affirm His deity, demonstrating that He is Himself, God who took on human form. Hallelujah!

Dear Father, thank you for the unveiling of your Word to my spirit to understand the divine nature of Jesus and the accuracy of the Scriptures that testify of Him. My faith is firmly rooted in your infallible Word, and I boldly proclaim Jesus as Lord over all. His Kingdom is established forever, and I walk in the light of His victory today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
