“사람이 마음으로 믿어 의에 이르고 입으로 시인하여 구원에 이르느니라”(롬 10:10)

마음으로 믿는다는 것은 무슨 뜻입니까? 사도 바울은 당신의 몸에서 피를 펌프질하는 신체 기관인 심장을 말한 것이 아닙니다. 그는 당신의 영을 말한 것입니다. 당신의 마음은 당신의 영, 즉 가장 깊은 곳에 있는 존재입니다.
당신은 생각이나 뇌로 믿는 것이 아니라 심령으로 믿습니다. 그래서 많은 사람들이 생각으로 하나님을 이해하려고 하면 그분을 찾을 수 없는 것입니다. 하나님은 당신의 감각에 호소하지 않으십니다. 그분은 당신의 영에 실재하십니다. 생각은 영적인 일을 이해할 능력이 없습니다. 이러한 일들을 이해하는 것은 인간의 영입니다.
사람의 영이 하나님께 죽어 있으면 하나님의 일들이 그에게 어리석게 보일 것입니다. 주 예수님께서 요한복음 3:3에서 “사람이 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라를 볼 수 없느니라”고 말씀하신 것은 당연합니다. 이는 그가 하나님의 왕국의 실재를 볼 수도 없고 하나님을 알 수도 없다는 뜻입니다. 그러나 당신이 거듭났다면 다릅니다. 당신의 뇌가 어떤 일을 이해하지 못하더라도 당신의 영으로 여전히 믿을 수 있습니다.
예수 그리스도의 동정녀 탄생에 대해 생각해 보십시오. 동정녀 마리아가 아기를 낳았습니다. 이를 설명할 수 있는 과학은 없습니다. 예수님이 죽으시고, 삼일 동안 무덤에 계시다가 다시 살아나신 일은 어떻습니까? 자연적인 인간의 생각으로는 설명할 수 없습니다. 그러나 우리는 그것을 믿습니다. 사람은 생각으로 믿는 것이 아니라 마음으로 믿기 때문입니다.
인간의 영은 설명하거나 이해할 수 없는 것까지도 믿을 수 있는 능력을 가지고 있습니다. 그래서 어떤 사람들은 우리 그리스도인들이 세뇌되었다고 말합니다. 아닙니다! 우리는 세뇌된 것이 아니라 “심령이 깨끗게 되었습니다!” 하나님께서는 우리에게 새로운 심령, 곧 믿는 심령을 주셨습니다. 어떤 사람들은 “나는 내가 본 것만 믿는다!”고 말합니다. 그것은 말이 되지 않습니다. 이미 볼 수 있는 것을 왜 믿어야 합니까?
“믿음은 바라는 것들의 실상이요 보이지 않는 것들의 증거니…”(히 11:1) 믿음은 심령에 있는 것이지 감각에 있는 것이 아닙니다. 당신이 믿을 때, 당신의 영은 당신의 생각이 이해할 수 없는 신성한 진리를 붙잡습니다. 할렐루야!

WITH THE HEART MAN BELIEVES

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:10).

What does it mean to believe with the heart? The apostle Paul wasn’t referring to the physical heart, the organ that pumps blood in your body. He’s talking about your spirit. Your heart is your spirit—your innermost being.
You believe with your heart, not with your mind or your brain. This is why many people who try to reason God out with their minds can’t find Him. God doesn’t appeal to your senses; He is real to your spirit. The mind doesn’t have the capacity to figure out spiritual matters. It is the human spirit that understands these things.
When a man’s spirit is dead to God, the things of God will seem foolish to him. No wonder the Lord Jesus said in John 3:3, “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” This means he cannot see the realities of the Kingdom of God, nor can he know God. But when you’re born again, it’s different. Even when your brain is unable to figure something out, you can still believe it with your spirit.
Think about the virgin birth of Jesus Christ: Mary, a virgin, gave birth to a baby. There’s no science that can explain that. How about Jesus dying, being buried for three days, and then rising from the dead? The natural human mind can’t explain it. But we believe it, because with the heart man believes, not with the mind.
The human spirit has the capacity to believe even that which it can’t explain or understand. It’s the reason some say to us that as Christians we’ve been brainwashed. No! We weren’t brainwashed; we were “heart-washed!” God gave us a new heart, a believing heart. Someone says, “I only believe what I see!” That doesn’t make sense because why would you need to believe what you can already see?
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen…” (Hebrews 11:1). Faith is of the heart and not the senses. When you believe, your spirit takes a hold of divine truths that your mind cannot grasp. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the gift of faith that works from my spirit. I believe and embrace your Word with my heart, taking hold of every divine truth, and it transforms my life. My spirit is alive to you, and I walk in your glory and righteousness today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

민수기 13-14장은 모세가 약속의 땅 가나안을 정탐하기 위해 보낸 열두 명의 정탐꾼의 이야기를 들려줍니다. 그들은 40일 동안 그 땅을 탐험하고 큰 포도송이를 포함한 그 땅의 풍요로움의 증거를 가지고 돌아왔습니다. 그러나 갈렙과 여호수아는 이스라엘 백성들에게 하나님을 신뢰하고 그 땅을 차지하라고 격려했지만, 나머지 열 명의 정탐꾼은 그 땅이 위험하고 거인들이 살고 있다고 말했습니다.

악한 보고란 무엇이었습니까? 하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성들이 거인들을 정복하고 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅을 차지할 것이라고 선포하셨습니다. 그러나 열 명의 정탐꾼들은 “그 땅이 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅인 것은 사실이지만, 우리는 그 땅을 차지할 수 없다”고 말했습니다. 그들은 하나님께서 보장하신 승리를 무시하고 모세가 그들을 곤경에 빠뜨렸다고 비난했습니다.
그들은 민수기 13:32-33에서 “우리가 두루 다니며 정탐한 땅은 그 거주민을 삼키는 땅이요 거기서 본 백성은 신장이 장대한 자들이며 거기서 또 네피림 후손인 아낙 자손의 거인들을 보았나니 우리는 스스로 보기에도 메뚜기 같으니 그들이 보기에도 그와 같았을 것이니라.”고 말했습니다. 이 구절을 통해 배우십시오. 당신에게서 악한 보고가 나와서는 안 됩니다. 여호수아와 갈렙처럼 되십시오. 오늘의 본문 구절은 우리가 동일한 믿음의 영을 가지고 있다고 말합니다. 우리는 믿기 때문에 하나님의 말씀에 동의하여 말합니다.

THE FAITH-EXAMPLES OF JOSHUA AND CALEB

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13).

Numbers 13-14 recounts the story of the twelve spies sent by Moses to scout the land of Canaan, the Promised Land. They spent forty days exploring the land and brought back evidence of its abundance, including a large cluster of grapes. However, while Caleb and Joshua encouraged the Israelites to trust God and take possession of the land, the other ten spies described the land as dangerous and inhabited by giants.
The Israelites, overcome by fear and doubt, rebelled against Moses and Aaron, longing to return to Egypt. God’s anger burned against their unbelief, and as a result, that generation, except Caleb and Joshua, didn’t enter the Promised Land. Despite Caleb and Joshua’s attempts to reassure them of God’s power, the people refused to believe.
Here’s what I want you to notice about what the Lord said about the report of these other 10 spies: “And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel…” (Numbers 13:32). It wasn’t Joshua or Moses who labelled their report as “evil”—it was the Lord Himself, because it contradicted His Word.
What was the evil report? God had declared that the Israelites would conquer the giants and take possession of the land flowing with milk and honey. But the ten spies said, “Even if it’s true that the land flows with milk and honey, we can’t take it.” They disregarded God’s assurance of victory and accused Moses of leading them into trouble.
In Numbers 13:32-33, they said, “The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” Learn from this. No evil report should come from you. Be like Joshua and Caleb. Our opening verse says we have the same spirit of faith; we believe and therefore speak in agreement with God’s Word.
What has the Word said about your health or prosperity? What has God said about your life and future? Affirm the same things in agreement with Him. Speak faith-filled words only, regardless of what your senses perceive. Hold fast to your confessions of faith, knowing that God’s Word is true and always prevails.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the spirit of faith at work in me. I believe your Word, and I speak in agreement with it. I walk in health, prosperity and victory; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Amen.

어떤 사람들이 성경에 근거하지 않은 특정 종류의 기독교를 선택하여 그것이 기독교를 대표한다고 결정했다고 해서, 그들이 실천하는 것이 기독교라는 뜻은 전혀 아닙니다. 진정한 기독교는 하나님의 말씀인 성경에 기초합니다.
성경은 말합니다. “모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로 교훈과 책망과 바르게 함과 의로 교육하기에 유익하니”(딤후 3:16) 따라서 모든 그리스도인은 성경이 절대적으로 참되며 삶의 모든 일에 대한 최종적인 판단자임을 믿고, 받아들이고, 고백하고, 지지하고, 선포해야 합니다. 그렇지 않으면 그 사람은 그리스도인이 아닙니다.

따라서 당신이 얼마나 오랫동안 그리스도인이라고 고백했는지 혹은 당신이 어떤 직분을 가지고 있는지는 중요하지 않습니다. 당신이 이 진리를 받아들이고, 믿고, 고백하지 않는다면, 성경에 의하면 당신은 그리스도인이 아닙니다. 이것이 그리스도인이 누구인지에 대한 정의의 시작입니다. 왜 이것이 중요합니까?

THE FOUNDATION OF TRUE CHRISTIANITY

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV).

Just because certain people have chosen a particular kind of Christianity that’s not based on the scriptures, and have decided that it represents Christianity, doesn’t mean that what they are practicing is Christianity at all. True Christianity is based on the Bible—the Word of God.
The Bible tells us, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). So, every Christian believes, accepts, confesses, endorses and proclaims that the Bible is absolutely true and it’s the final arbiter concerning everything in life. Otherwise, such a person isn’t a Christian.
Also, the Christian accepts that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that means He’s God in the flesh: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). Plus that, the Christian acknowledges that Jesus died as our Savior: “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
The Christian confesses that Jesus was raised from the dead and professes that He is alive today: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Revelation 1:18, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
So it makes no difference for how long you’ve professed to be a Christian or the title by which you’re addressed; if you don’t accept, believe, and confess these truths, you’re not a Christian according to the Bible. This is the beginning of the definition of who a Christian is. Why is this so important?
It’s because the transcendent life in Christ that the Bible talks about is only available to those who believe. Believing involves two essential components: accepting the truthfulness of something and confessing it, while acting accordingly. Without these, belief is incomplete. Praise God.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the light of your Word that defines and directs my life. I believe, accept, confess, and proclaim the absolute truth of the Scriptures. I boldly affirm that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, died as my Saviour, was raised from the dead, and now, lives in my heart by His Spirit. I live by these truths, walking in the full blessings of your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“하나님이 능히 모든 은혜를 너희에게 넘치게 하시나니 이는 너희로 모든 일에 항상 모든 것이 넉넉하여 모든 선한 일을 넘치게 하게 하려 하심이라”(고후 9:8)

당신이 기도하며 하나님께 무언가를 구할 때, 하나님의 궁극적인 목적은 집, 차, 돈과 같은 물질을 주시는 것이 아닙니다. 하나님의 초점은 당신의 영 안에 있는 그분의 말씀입니다. 하나님을 아는 지식 안에서 성장할 때, 당신이 갈망하는 모든 것이 이미 그분의 말씀 안에서 당신에게 주어졌음을 발견하게 될 것입니다.
베드로후서 1:3은 말합니다. “그의 신기한 능력으로 생명과 경건에 속한 모든 것을 우리에게 주셨으니 이는 자기의 영광과 덕으로써 우리를 부르신 이를 앎으로 말미암음이라” 이 말씀을 이해한다면 당신의 기도 생활과 기도의 내용이 바뀔 것입니다. 당신이 더 이상 필요에 대한 의식을 갖고 있지 않기 때문에 기도 시간은 무언가를 구하는 것이 아닌 하나님과의 교제의 시간이 될 것입니다.
우리는 주 예수님께서 이 땅에서 사셨던 방식대로 살아야 합니다. 예수님은 결핍에 대한 의식이 없으셨습니다. 당신이 필요한 모든 것이 그분과의 연합으로부터 흘러나온다는 것을 알 때, 얼마나 영광스러운 삶을 살게 되는지요! 성경은 말합니다. “너희를 불러 그의 아들 예수 그리스도 우리 주와 더불어 교제하게 하시는 하나님은 미쁘시도다”(고전 1:9)
이는 당신이 신성한 동역, 예수 그리스도와의 가족 안으로 들어왔다는 의미입니다. 만약 이것이 사실이라면(그리고 하나님께 감사하게도 사실입니다), 당신에게 무슨 부족함이 있겠습니까? 하나님은 이미 그분의 말씀을 통해 생명과 경건에 필요한 모든 것을 공급하셨습니다. 이제 중요한 일은 하나님의 말씀이 당신 안에 풍성히 거하도록 하는 것입니다.
예수님은 “선한 사람은 그 쌓은 선에서 선한 것을 내고”(마 12:35) 라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그리고 바울은 “우리가 이 보배를 질그릇에 가졌으니”(고후 4:7) 라고 말했습니다. 이 보배는 당신의 심령에 저장된 하나님의 말씀으로, 당신이 필요로 하는 모든 것을 창조하고 생산할 수 있는 능력을 가지고 있습니다. 당신의 집, 차, 배우자, 자녀, 그리고 모든 축복은 당신 안에 있는 하나님의 말씀으로부터 나옵니다!
당신이 말씀으로 충만할 때, 당신은 이 세상에서 건강, 성공, 번영, 승리에 필요한 모든 것을 가지고 있는 것입니다. 골로새서 3:16은 말합니다. “그리스도의 말씀이 너희 속에 풍성히 거하여…” 바로 이것이 당신이 필요로 하는 것입니다. 그러므로 말씀을 묵상하고, 고백하고, 말씀이 당신의 생각을 형성하게 하십시오. 할렐루야!

사랑하는 아버지, 내 안에 풍성히 거하는 아버지의 말씀의 보물에 감사드립니다. 내가 필요한 모든 좋은 것은 내 안에 있는 보물로부터 나옵니다. 나는 예수 그리스도와의 교제와 그분과의 하나됨으로 인한 풍성함을 의식하며 결핍을 초월하여 삽니다. 아멘.

GOD’S FOCUS IS HIS WORD IN YOUR SPIRIT

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8).
When you pray and ask God for things, His ultimate purpose is not to give you material possessions such as houses, cars, or money; His focus is His Word in your spirit. As you grow in the knowledge of God, you’ll discover that everything you desire has already been granted you in His Word.
He already said in 2 Peter 1:3, “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” This understanding will transform your prayer life and the content of your prayers. Instead of focusing on asking for things, your prayer times become moments of fellowship with God because you don’t have the consciousness of need.
We have to emulate the way our Lord Jesus lived when He walked the earth. He had no consciousness of lack. What a glorious way to live, when you know that everything you need flows from your union with Him! The Bible says, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9).
This means you’ve been brought into a divine partnership, a family union with Jesus Christ. If this is true (and thank God it is), what could you ever lack? God has already provided everything you’ll ever need for life and godliness through His Word. The key is to have the Word of God dwelling in you richly.
Jesus said, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth good things” (Matthew 12:35). Then Paul said, “We have this treasure in earthen vessels…” (2 Corinthians 4:7). This treasure is the Word of God stored in your heart which has the power to produce or create anything and everything you need. That’s where the house, car, spouse, children, and every other blessing come from—the Word of God in you!
When you’re full of the Word, you carry within you everything you need for health, success, prosperity and victory in this world. Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly….” That’s what you need. So, meditate on the Word, confess it, and let it shape your thinking. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the treasure of your Word that dwells in me richly. Every good thing I need flows from the treasure within me. I walk in the consciousness of abundance and live above lack because of the fellowship I have with Jesus Christ, and my oneness with Him. Amen.

모세는 율법을 통해 하나님의 의에 대한 계시를 받았습니다. 신명기에서 모세가 하나님의 의에 대해 표현한 관점은 대단합니다.
모세가 이 율법이 얼마나 특별하고 독특한지, 그리고 다른 민족에게서 찾아볼 수 없는 것인지에 대해 감탄한 것은 당연합니다. “오늘 내가 너희에게 선포하는 이 율법과 같이 그 규례와 법도가 공의로운 큰 나라가 어디 있느냐”(신 4:8) 모세는 신명기 6:25에서 율법의 아름다움에 감동했습니다. 그는 율법을 지켜야 할 부담스러운 규칙으로 보지 않고 하나님의 놀라운 의를 반영한 것으로 보았습니다. 그는 백성들에게 계명을 지키는 것이 그들의 의가 될 것이라고 말했습니다. “우리가 그 명령하신 대로 이 모든 명령을 우리 하나님 여호와 앞에서 삼가 지키면 그것이 곧 우리의 의로움이니라 할지니라”
이후 모세는 신명기 32:45-47에서 이 진리를 더욱 강조했습니다. “모세가 이 모든 말씀을 온 이스라엘에게 말하기를 마치고 그들에게 이르되 내가 오늘 너희에게 증언한 모든 말을 너희의 마음에 두고 너희의 자녀에게 명령하여 이 율법의 모든 말씀을 지켜 행하게 하라 이는 너희에게 헛된 일이 아니라 너희의 생명이니 이 일로 말미암아 너희가 요단을 건너가 차지할 그 땅에서 너희의 날이 장구하리라” 모세는 율법을 생명 그 자체로 소중히 여기며 백성들에게 율법을 따라 행동할 것을 촉구했습니다.
신약은 비슷한 관점을 보여줍니다. 로마서 8:3-4은 그리스도를 통한 의의 성취를 보여줍니다. “율법이 육신으로 말미암아 연약하여 할 수 없는 그것을 하나님은 하시나니 곧 죄로 말미암아 자기 아들을 죄 있는 육신의 모양으로 보내어 육신에 죄를 정하사 육신을 따르지 않고 그 영을 따라 행하는 우리에게 율법의 요구를 이루어지게 하려 하심이니라”
모세가 영광스럽고 아름답다고 여겼던 율법의 의는 이제 성령을 따라 행하는 우리 안에서 성취되었습니다. 하나님의 의는 우리를 통해 나타납니다. 왕국의 대사로서 우리는 열방에 하나님의 의와 평강과 기쁨을 전합니다.
당신이 어디를 가든지, 당신이 도착하면 의가 도착하는 것입니다. 당신이 어떤 장소에 발을 들이면 평안이 당신과 함께 갑니다. 당신이 있는 곳에는 기쁨이 나타납니다. 이것이 당신의 매일의 의식이 되어야 합니다. 당신은 하나님의 왕국의 확장입니다. 할렐루야!

기도
사랑하는 아버지, 하나님의 말씀을 통해 하나님의 의를 나타내시고 그리스도를 통해 우리 안에서 하나님의 의를 이루어 주시니 감사합니다. 나는 성령을 따라 행하며 내 세상에 하나님의 말씀의 생명과 영광을 나타냅니다. 하나님의 말씀은 나의 생명이며 나는 말씀을 무엇보다 소중히 여깁니다. 나를 하나님의 의의 살아있는 표현으로 만들어 주시니 감사합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS FULFILLED IN US

“And so he condemned sin in sinful man, in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit” (Romans 8:4 NIV).

Moses had a revelation of God’s righteousness through the Law. His perspective as expressed in some portions of the book of Deuteronomy is profound.
No wonder he marvelled at how extraordinary and unique the law was declaring it unparalleled among the nations: “And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?” (Deuteronomy 4:8). In Deuteronomy 6:25, Moses’ heart was moved by the beauty of the Law. He did not see it as a burden of rules to obey but as a reflection of God’s wonderful righteousness. He told the people that observing the commandments would be their righteousness: “And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.”
Later, in Deuteronomy 32:45-47, Moses further emphasized this truth: “Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.” He treasured the law as life itself and urged the people to act accordingly.
The New Testament reveals a similar perspective. In Romans 8:3-4, we see the fulfilment of this righteousness through Christ: “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
The righteousness of the Law, which Moses regarded as glorious and beautiful, has now been fulfilled in us who walk after the Spirit. God’s righteousness is expressed through us. As ambassadors of the Kingdom, we extend His righteousness, peace, and joy to the nations.
Wherever you go, when you arrive, righteousness arrives. When you step into a place, peace comes with you. When you are present, joy is made manifest. This should shape your daily consciousness; you are an extension of the Kingdom of God to your world. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for revealing your righteousness through your Word and fulfilling it in us through Christ. I declare that I walk after the Spirit, manifesting the life and glory of your Word to my world. Your Word is my life, and I treasure it above all. Thank you for making me a living expression of your righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

오늘의 본문 구절은 자연인에 대해 말합니다. 자연인은 누구입니까? 자연인은 거듭나지 않은 평범한 사람입니다. 그는 좋은 동네에서 자라고 괜찮은 삶을 살았을 수도 있지만 여전히 하나님의 생명과는 분리되어 있습니다. 자연인은 하나님의 아버지 되심에 대해 깨닫지 못했습니다. 에베소서 4:18은 말합니다. “그들의 총명이 어두워지고 그들 가운데 있는 무지함과 그들의 마음이 굳어짐으로 말미암아 하나님의 생명에서 떠나 있도다”
따라서 육신적인 사람은 자연적인 출생만 경험하고 순전히 자연적으로 성장한 사람입니다. 성경은 말합니다. “자연인은 하나님의 영의 일들을 받아들이지 아니하나니, 이는 그 일들이 그 사람에게는 어리석게 여겨지기 때문이요, 또 알 수도 없나니 이는 그 일들이 영적으로만이 분별되기 때문이니라.”(고전 2:14, 한글 킹제임스)
몇 년 전 공항에서 갑자기 쓰러진 한 대학교의 전 부총장 일화가 생각납니다. 그때 벤슨 아이다호사 대감독이 근처에 있었습니다. 다음 날 신문은 대감독의 “어떤 소리”가 부총장을 소생시켰다고 보도했습니다. 언론은 무슨 일이 일어났는지 이해하지 못했기 때문에 그저 “어떤 소리”라고 불렀습니다.
사실 벤슨 아이다호사 대감독은 큰 소리로 방언을 말했습니다. 영적인 상황에 익숙하지 않은 기자들은 그저 “어떤 소리”라고 밖에 설명할 수 없었습니다. 그러나 하나님의 사람은 그 중요한 순간에 무엇을 해야 하는지 정확히 알고 있었습니다. 그는 육신적인 사람이 이해할 수 없는 것을 풀어놓았고, 그때까지 움직일 수 없었던 부총장은 살아났습니다!
하나님의 일들은 영적인 분별력이 필요하지만, 육신적인 사람은 분별할 수 없습니다. 그들은 하나님의 실재와 성령의 생명으로부터 단절되어 있기 때문에 하나님의 일들은 그들에게 터무니없거나 의미 없는 것처럼 보입니다. 이것이 우리가 계속해서 복음을 전하는 이유입니다. 하나님은 모든 사람이 구원을 받고 진리를 아는 데 이르기를 원하십니다(딤전 2:4). 따라서 우리는 그들이 주님을 알도록 도와야 합니다.
그 사람이 박식한 교수, 위대한 과학자, 능숙한 연설가, 노련한 정치인, 혹은 의사인지는 중요하지 않습니다. 거듭나지 않았다면 그들은 여전히 자연적인 인간의 삶을 살고 있는 것입니다. 예수님은 말씀하셨습니다. “…진실로 진실로 네게 이르노니 사람이 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라를 볼 수 없느니라”(요 3:3) 그러므로 당신의 주변에 있는 아직 거듭나지 않은 사람들이 주님을 알게 하고 그들을 구원으로 인도하십시오. 할렐루야!

기도
사랑하는 아버지, 나를 영적인 사람으로 만드는 거듭남의 축복에 감사드립니다. 나는 아버지의 말씀의 빛 가운데 행하며 성령의 분별력으로 살아갑니다. 내 마음은 하나님의 깊은 것들을 받아들이고 이해합니다. 내 삶은 하나님의 지혜와 영광의 나타남입니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HELP THEM TO KNOW THE LORD

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14).

Our opening scripture talks about the natural man. Who is the natural man? The natural man is the ordinary, everyday person who has never been born again. He may have grown up in a good neighbourhood and lived a decent life, but he remains disconnected from the life of God. The natural man has never been awakened to the Fatherhood of God. Ephesians 4:18 says,“Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.”
So, the natural man is someone whose only experience is his natural birth and who has grown up purely natural. As the Bible says, “…the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14).
It brings to mind an incident from years ago involving the former Vice Chancellor of a certain University who suddenly collapsed at the airport, and, as it happened, the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa was nearby. According to newspaper reports the next day, they described that “audible sounds” from the Archbishop revived the Vice Chancellor. The press didn’t understand what had happened, so they called it “audible sounds.”
What actually happened was that Archbishop Idahosa spoke in tongues loudly. The journalists, being unfamiliar with the spiritual context, could only describe it as “audible sounds.” But the man of God knew exactly what to do at that critical moment. He released what the natural man couldn’t understand and the hitherto incapacitated Vice Chancellor was revived!
The things of God require spiritual discernment, but the natural man cannot discern them. They seem absurd or meaningless to him, being disconnected from the realities of God and the life of the Spirit. It’s the reason we keep preaching the Gospel; God wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). So we must help them know the Lord.
It doesn’t matter that the man or woman is an erudite professor, a great scientist, a skilled orator, a seasoned politician, or a medical doctor; as long as they’re not born again, they’re living the natural human life. And Jesus said, “…Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (John 3:3). So help those around you, who have never been born again, to know the Lord and bring them into salvation. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the blessing of the New Birth that makes me a spiritual man. I walk in the light of your Word and live by the discernment of the Spirit. My heart receives and understands the deep things of God, and my life is a demonstration of your wisdom and glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“방언을 말하는 자는 사람에게 하지 아니하고 하나님께 하나니 이는 알아 듣는 자가 없고 영으로 비밀을 말함이라”(고전 14:2)

예수님께서 변화산에서 기도하실 때, 성경은 그분의 얼굴과 옷이 영광으로 빛났다고 말합니다(마 17:2, 막 9:3, 눅 9:29). 예수님을 통해 나타난 영광은 사람들이 한 번만 본 것이 아니었습니다. 영광은 영 안에서 매일 일어나는 일이었습니다. 그러나 그때 사람들의 눈이 열려 그 영광을 목격했습니다.
마찬가지로 하나님의 영광이 우리 안에 거하고 있지만, 사람의 눈에 항상 보이는 것은 아닙니다. 우리는 겉으로 항상 볼 수는 없지만, 영광은 그곳에 있습니다. 그리고 어떤 경우에는 다른 사람들이 그 영광을 인식할 수도 있습니다. 예를 들어, 스데반의 짧은 사역에서 이런 일이 한 번 일어났습니다.
사도행전 6장에서 스데반은 믿음과 성령이 충만하여 사람들 가운데 큰 이적과 표적을 행하는 사람으로 묘사됩니다. 그는 모세와 하나님을 모독한 혐의로 산헤드린(유대인 회의) 앞에 끌려갔습니다. 스데반이 자신을 변호하기 위해 산헤드린 앞에 섰을 때, 성경은 “공회 중에 앉은 사람들이 다 스데반을 주목하여 보니 그 얼굴이 천사의 얼굴과 같더라”(행 6:15)고 말합니다. 그들은 스데반의 얼굴에 있는 영광을 보았습니다.

당신이 방언으로 기도할 때마다 당신 안에 있는 이 영광이 활성화됩니다. 저는 어떤 사람들이 하는 짧고 가벼운 방언 기도를 말하는 것이 아닙니다. 저는 당신의 영으로부터 그리고 당신의 영과 함께 깊고 열정적으로 하는 방언 기도를 말하는 것입니다. 이는 강렬한 기도이며, 당신 자신을 온전히 기도에 내어드리는 것입니다. 그럴 때 당신의 영에서 육신을 통해 솟아오르는 신성한 능력의 흐름이 거의 즉시 일어날 것입니다.
이것을 훈련하십시오. 경건하고 순종하는 심령으로 지속적으로 방언으로 기도하십시오. 그러면 당신은 신성한 활력과 힘을 경험하게 될 것입니다. 이는 당신을 향한 하나님의 계획이므로 진지하게 받아들이십시오.

THE GLORY WITHIN

“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries” (1 Corinthians 14:2).

When Jesus prayed on the Mount of Transfiguration, the Bible says His countenance and His clothes shimmered with glory (Matthew 17:2, Mark 9:3, Luke 9:29). The glory that radiated through Him wasn’t a one-time occurrence for the people to see—it was something that happened every day in the spirit. However, on that occasion, their eyes were opened to witness it.
In the same way, the glory of God resides within us, though it’s not always visible to the human eyes. We don’t always see it outwardly, but it’s there, and on some occasions, others may perceive it. This, for instance, happened only once in the short ministry of Stephen.
In Acts 6, Stephen was described as a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, performing great wonders and signs among the people. He was brought before the Sanhedrin (the Jewish council) after being accused of blasphemy against Moses and God. When he stood before the council to defend himself, the Bible says, “all who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel” (Acts 6:15 NIV). They beheld the glory on the face of Stephen.
This glory isn’t just on you today, but inside you, and it’s described as the more excellent glory—“the glory that excelleth”: “For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth” (2 Corinthians 3:9-10).
Every time you pray in tongues, this glory in you is activated. I’m not talking about the brief, casual, praying in tongues that some people do. I’m talking about when you pray in tongues deeply and passionately from and with your spirit. This is intense, where you give yourself fully to prayer. At such moments, the currents of divine power that’ll surge from your spirit through your physical body will be almost immediate.
Practise this. Consistently give yourself to praying in tongues with a reverent and yielded heart, and you’ll experience divine vitality and strength. This is God’s plan for your life so take it seriously.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit and the power of praying in tongues. I yield my heart and spirit to you as I pray, allowing your glory to surge and radiate through me. As I pray, I experience the fullness of your power; I walk in health, strengthened, refreshed and vitalized by the Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

에베소서 3:14-21은 성령님께서 바울에게 주신 가장 심오하고 절정에 이르는 계시 중 하나입니다. 이 구절은 모든 그리스도인을 향한 아버지의 뜻인 성령의 기도를 보여줍니다. 16절을 주목해 보십시오. 바울은 하나님께서 “그의 영광의 풍성함을 따라 그의 성령으로 말미암아 너희 속사람을 능력으로 강건하게 하시오며”라고 기도합니다. 하나님은 당신이 안에서부터 영광스럽게 강건해지기를 원하십니다.

오늘날에도 마찬가지입니다. 성령의 기도는 오늘날 우리를 향한 아버지의 뜻입니다. 이는 교회를 위한 영감으로 말미암은 기도이기 때문입니다. 우리 중 누구도 약하거나, 두려워하거나, 소심해서는 안 됩니다. 당신의 신체적 상태와 상관없이 당신은 강합니다. 이것이 모든 그리스도인을 향한 하나님의 갈망, 꿈, 계획입니다.
그러므로 자주 이렇게 선포하십시오. “나는 내 안에 거하시는 성령으로 말미암아 영광스럽게 강건해지고 끊임없이 활력을 얻습니다. 성령님은 나에게 초자연적인 능력, 곧 모든 일을 할 수 있는 기적을 행하는 능력을 주십니다. 내 안에는 약함이 없습니다.” 습관적으로 이 고백을 하십시오. 그리고 당신의 영과 삶과 환경에서 일어날 일들을 보십시오.

사랑하는 아버지, 아버지의 영광의 풍성함을 따라 내 속사람이 성령으로 말미암아 능력으로 강건하게 하시니 감사합니다. 나는 모든 도전을 마주할 수 있는 힘을 얻고, 나의 신성한 부르심을 성취하며, 복음의 축복의 충만함 가운데 걷습니다. 아버지의 영광스러운 힘이 내 안에서 강력하게 역사하고, 나는 항상 승리합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

GLORIOUSLY STRENGTHENED FROM WITHIN

“For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” (Ephesians 3:14-16).

The portion of Scripture in Ephesians 3:14–21 is one of the most profound and climactic revelations given to Paul by the Holy Spirit. It unveils the prayer of the Spirit, which is the will of the Father for every Christian. Notice the 16th verse; Paul prays that God would “…grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man.” He wants you gloriously strengthened on the inside.
Why does God want you strengthened from within? Why does He want to make you strong on your inside? It’s because of what’s on the outside! Remember what He said in 1 John 4:4, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” The focus is on who’s inside you and the power at work in you. He’s talking about you being supernaturally strengthened on the inside by His miracle-working ability.
Consider the example of John the Baptist, whom the scripture says was filled with the Holy Ghost from his mother’s womb—unlike any other prophet. Luke 1:80 tells us, “And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit.” This is definitely not a description of the outward man, but the inner man. And because of the life John the Baptist was going to live, the forces he was going to encounter, and the ministry God had given him, he needed to be made strong in spirit.
It’s the same way today; this prayer of the Spirit is evidently the will of the Father for us today, because it’s the inspired prayer for the Church, such that none of us should be weak, fearful or timid. No! Irrespective of your physical frame, you’re strong inside. This is God’s desire, dream, and plan for every Christian.
Therefore, every so often, declare, “I’m gloriously strengthened and constantly invigorated by the Holy Spirit who dwells in me. He gives me supernatural power, the miracle-working ability to do all things; there’s no weakness in me. Make this your habitual confession and see the magnitude of what’ll happen in your spirit, life and circumstances.

CONFESSION
Dear Father, thank you for granting me, according to the riches of your glory, to be strengthened with might by your Spirit in my inner man. I am empowered to face every challenge, fulfil my divine calling, and walk in the fullness of the blessings of the Gospel. Your glorious strength works mightily in me, and I am victorious always, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“너희는 세상의 빛이라 산 위에 있는 동네가 숨겨지지 못할 것이요”(마 5:14)

주 예수님은 여러 번 그분이 세상의 빛이라고 선포하셨습니다. 요한복음 8:12은 말합니다. “예수께서 또 말씀하여 이르시되 나는 세상의 빛이니 나를 따르는 자는 어둠에 다니지 아니하고 생명의 빛을 얻으리라.” 또한 요한복음 9:5에서 예수님은 “내가 세상에 있는 동안에는 세상의 빛이로라”고 말씀하셨습니다. 그리고 요한복음 12:44-46에서 “… 나는 빛으로 세상에 왔나니 무릇 나를 믿는 자로 어둠에 거하지 않게 하려 함이로라.”고 말씀하셨습니다. 이 말씀들은 대단합니다!
어느 누구도 예수님처럼 말한 적이 없습니다. 그러나 오늘날 우리는 그분처럼 말할 수 있습니다. 성경이 “그가 어떠하심과 같이 우리도 이 세상에서 그러하니라”(요일 4:17)고 말하기 때문입니다. 예수님은 우리를 세상의 빛, 즉 밝고 환한 존재로 만드셨습니다. 그러므로 당신의 세상을 밝히십시오. 사탄은 우는 사자와 같이 두루 다니며 삼킬 자를 찾고 있을지라도, 그는 어둠이고 당신은 빛이므로 사탄은 아무것도 할 수 없습니다. 빛은 어둠을 몰아냅니다. 할렐루야!
이는 마태복음 5:16에 나오는 주님의 강력한 가르침을 더 잘 이해하는 데 도움이 됩니다. 주님은 말씀하셨습니다. “이같이 너희 빛이 사람 앞에 비치게 하여 그들로 너희 착한 행실을 보고 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하라” 예수님은 다른 사람들이 당신으로 인해 하나님께 영광을 돌리도록 당신의 빛을 밝게 비추라고 강조하셨습니다. 매일 당신의 삶이 하나님의 영광에 대한 증거가 되도록 빛나십시오. 즉, 당신의 삶으로 영향력을 끼치십시오!
당신이 작은 마을에서 태어났든 궁전에서 태어났든 상관없습니다. 당신이 지금 있는 곳에서 세상을 밝히고 아버지의 선한 일을 보여주십시오. “선한 일”이란 무엇입니까? 그것은 하나님의 일이나 행위, 즉 초자연적이고 기적적인 일입니다. 당신은 다른 사람들에게 다가가 축복을 전하는 하나님의 목소리이자 손입니다. 이것이 바로 하나님께서 우리를 부르신 특별한 삶입니다. 그분의 영광을 위한 목적, 영향력의 삶입니다. 이 진리에 열정을 가지고 영감을 받으십시오.

MAKE AN IMPACT WITH YOUR LIFE

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid” (Matthew 5:14).

In several instances, the Lord Jesus declared Himself to be the light of the world. In John 8:12, the Bible says, “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” In John 9:5 He said, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” Also, in John 12:44-46, He said, “…I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.” These are profound statements!
Nobody ever talked like Jesus. However, today, we can talk like Him because the Bible says, “As He is, so are we in this world” (1 John 4:17). He made us the light of the world—luminous and lambent—so light up your world. Satan may prowl or roam around like a roaring lion, but he can’t run things because he’s darkness and you’re light. Light dispels darkness. Hallelujah!
This helps us to better appreciate the Master’s powerful instruction in Matthew 5:16; He said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Here, Jesus emphasized letting your light shine so brightly until others are inspired to glorify God because of you. Every day, glow with such radiance, brilliance and intensity that your life becomes a testament to God’s glory. In other words, make an impact with your life!
It makes no difference that you were born in a hamlet or in the palace; now that you’re here, illuminate the world and showcase the Father’s good works. What are these “good works”? They are the works or acts of God; the supernatural and the miraculous. You’re His voice and His hands to reach and bless others. This is the extraordinary life God has called us to live—a life of purpose, impact, and influence for His glory; be enthused and inspired by this.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for making me the light of the world. I commit to letting my light shine so brightly that men see my good works and glorify you. I demonstrate your nature and bring glory to your Name. Thank you for giving me a life of purpose, impact, and influence, for your glory. I’m enthused by this reality, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

죄가 무엇인지 이해하려면 먼저 하나님의 본성과 의를 이해해야 합니다. 하나님은 거룩하시고 절대적으로 의로우십니다. 하나님의 본성은 의입니다. 하나님의 의의 본성은 그분을 완전하고, 틀림없고, 오류가 없고, 공정하고, 선한 분으로 구별합니다.
하나님은 그분의 사랑의 말씀과 행위를 통해 사람에게 그분의 의를 나타내시고 보여주십니다. 따라서 예수님께서 가르치신 바와 같이 죄는 성경에 나타난 하나님의 의를 거스르는 모든 행위나 고의적인 생각입니다.
선과 악, 옳고 그름은 하나님의 본성에 의해 판단됩니다. 하나님의 본성 외에는 무엇이 선과 악인지, 옳고 그른지 알 수 없습니다. 따라서 판단을 사회에 맡길 수 없습니다. 사회는 끊임없이 변화하기 때문입니다. 예를 들어, 사회는 특정 생활 방식이나 관행이 옳다고 주장할 수도 있습니다. 그러나 그들의 양심은 그것이 잘못되었다고 말하지만, 그들은 그 목소리를 억누르려고 합니다. 양심은 인간 영의 목소리이며, 그들이 그것을 무시할 때 그들은 오랫동안 무겁고 더러운 양심을 짊어지게 됩니다. 안타깝게도 어떤 사람들은 그런 상태로 죽기도 합니다.
하나님의 본성은 선과 악, 옳고 그름을 판단하는 기준입니다. 하나님은 의와 선을 나타내기 위해 사람들에게 그분의 본성과 뜻을 나타내십니다. 따라서 의는 아버지의 뜻과 본성의 표현입니다. 이 간단하지만 특별히 놀라운 정의는 의에 대한 다른 모든 정의를 포함합니다. 그러므로 우리의 의는 아버지의 뜻과 본성의 표현입니다.
이것이 바로 예수님이 오셔서 하신 일입니다. 아버지의 뜻과 본성을 나타내는 것입니다. “나타내다”라는 단어는 “보여주다, 증명하다, 드러내다, 설명하다, 입증하다”라는 뜻을 가지고 있습니다. 히브리서 1:3은 예수님을 아버지의 형상, 즉 아버지의 완벽한 형상과 성품이라고 선포합니다. 예수님은 아버지의 뜻과 본성을 완벽하게 나타내셨습니다.
이와 같이 우리를 향한 하나님의 계획과 목적은 아버지의 뜻과 본성을 나타내는 것입니다. 이것이 진정한 의입니다. 당신이 모든 일과 상황 가운데 아버지의 뜻과 본성을 나타내며 살아간다면 어떨지 상상해 보십시오! 얼마나 멋진 사역입니까! 얼마나 멋진 삶입니까! 이러한 내용들을 묵상해 보십시오. 할렐루야!

EXPRESSING THE WILL AND NATURE OF THE FATHER

“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;” (Hebrews 1:3).

To understand what sin is, you must first understand the nature of God and His righteousness. God is holy and absolutely righteous. His nature is righteousness. His nature of righteousness distinguishes Him as perfect, infallible, inerrant, just, and good.
God reveals and demonstrates His righteousness to man through His words and acts of love. Sin, therefore, as taught by Jesus, is any act or deliberate thought that contravenes His righteousness as revealed in the scriptures.
Good or evil, right or wrong, are judged by the very nature of God. You can’t tell what is good or evil, right or wrong, except by the nature of God. That’s why judgment cannot be left to society, as it constantly changes. For instance, society may claim that certain lifestyles or practices are right. But their conscience tells them it’s wrong, yet they attempt to suppress that voice. The conscience is the voice of the human spirit, and when they ignore it, they carry a burdened and dirty conscience for a long time. Some, sadly, even die in that state.
The nature of God is the standard for judging good or evil, right or wrong. To express righteousness and goodness, God reveals His nature and will to men. Therefore, righteousness is the expression of the will and nature of the Father. This simple, yet extraordinarily profound definition encapsulates all the other definitions of righteousness. Our righteousness, therefore, is our expression of the will and nature of the Father.
This is exactly what Jesus came to do: to express the will and nature of the Father. The word “express” means to show, evince, manifest, articulate, and demonstrate. Hebrews 1:3 declares Jesus as the express image of the Father—the perfect imprint and character of the Father. He gave perfect expression to the will and nature of the Father.
Likewise, God’s plan and purpose for us is to give expression to the will and nature of the Father. This is true righteousness. Imagine if you lived your life giving expression to the will and nature of the Father everywhere and in all matters, and events! What a ministry. What a life! Make these your cogitations. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for revealing your nature and will to me through your Word and your acts of love. I’m the expression of your righteousness, giving perfect demonstration to your will and nature in all I do. By the power of your Spirit, I walk in alignment with your purpose, manifesting your glory and righteousness to my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
