더 높이 올라가십시오

Soar Higher

“그러나 무릇 여호와를 의지하며 여호와를 의뢰하는 그 사람은 복을 받을 것이라 그는 물 가에 심어진 나무가 그 뿌리를 강변에 뻗치고 더위가 올지라도 두려워하지 아니하며 그 잎이 청청하며 가무는 해에도 걱정이 없고 결실이 그치지 아니함 같으리라”(렘 17:7-8)

누군가 당신에게 “모든 게 너무 비싸요. 물가가 올랐어요.”라고 말한다면, 웃으며 그에게 “나는 물가보다 더 올랐어요. 나는 인플레이션보다 더 오르고 있어요.”라고 말하십시오. 당신이 한 그 말이 당신의 사고방식이어야 합니다.

경험을 통해 우리는 상품과 원자재 가격이 계속해서 상승한다는 것을 알고 있습니다. 가격이 상승한다는 말은 항상 있습니다. 그렇다면 같은 일이 또 발생했을 뿐인데 왜 신경을 씁니까? 그런 일이 당신을 걱정시키도록 내버려 두지 마십시오. 당신은 아브라함의 씨이기 때문입니다. 당신의 삶은 다릅니다.

저는 성경을 통해 하나님의 백성은 어려움 속에서도 번영했다는 사실을 발견했습니다. 이삭은 경제 상황이 매우 좋지 않을 때에도 형통했습니다(창 26장). 걱정하지 마십시오. 당신의 기준을 더 높이 세우십시오. 세상의 경제 시장보다 더 높이 올라가십시오. 당신이 살고 있는 나라 너머로 당신의 마음이 솟아오르게 하십시오 하나님이 얼마나 크신지, 그분이 당신과 함께 그리고 당신을 통해 무엇을 하실 수 있는지 생각하십시오

우리는 어둠 속에서 더 밝게 빛납니다. 밝을 때는 모든 사람의 빛이 눈에 띄지 않지만, 어두울 때는 아주 희미한 반짝거림도 눈에 띕니다. 모든 빛은 어둠 가운데 빛납니다. 성경은 말합니다. “보라 어둠이 땅을 덮을 것이며 캄캄함이 만민을 가리려니와 오직 여호와께서 네 위에 임하실 것이며 그의 영광이 네 위에 나타나리니”(사 60:2) 이제 당신이 빛날 때입니다!

성경은 “우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자 곧 그의 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라”(롬 8:28)고 말합니다. 인플레이션이 치솟고 상품 가격이 오를 때 울거나 불평하지 마십시오. 그런 상황은 오직 당신에게 기회만 만들어 줄 뿐입니다. 당신의 믿음으로 필요한 돈을 얻을 것이기 때문입니다. 당신의 번영은 회사가 당신에게 주는 월급이나 당신이 사는 나라에서 제공하는 기회에 달려있지 않습니다. 당신의 번영은 당신이 누구인지에 달려 있습니다. 당신은 하나님의 상속자이자 그리스도와 함께한 공동 상속자입니다.

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 인플레이션과 재정적 불확실성을 뛰어넘는다고 고백합니다. 당신의 말씀은 내가 외부 상황과 상관없이 번영하는 능력을 줍니다. 당신이 나의 참된 근원이시기 때문입니다. 나는 우리 나라의 경제의 피해자가 아닙니다. 나는 다른 사람들을 위한 기회를 만드는 사람입니다. 나는 이미 세상과 시스템을 이겼기 때문에 내 삶을 다스리며 살아갑니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

SOAR HIGHER

“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit” (Jeremiah 17:7-8).

When someone says to you, “Things are so expensive now; prices have gone up.” Smile and say, “I’ve gone higher than the prices. I’ve ascended beyond inflation.” That should always be your mentality.

From experience, we’ve only known prices of goods and commodities to always keep going higher. The cry has always been that things are getting more expensive. So, if it’s happening again, why do you care? Don’t let it trouble you, because you’re the seed of Abraham. Your life is different.

I found out in my Bible that God’s people always soared in hard times. Isaac prospered in the midst of extremely harsh economic conditions (Genesis 26). Don’t be troubled; just raise your standard higher; soar higher than the world’s market forces. Let your mind soar beyond the country where you live. Think how big God is, and what He can do with and through you.

We shine brighter in the dark. When everything is bright, not everyone’s light will be noticed. But when it’s dark, even the dimmest flicker will be noticed; every light shines in the dark. The Bible says, “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee” (Isaiah 60:2). It’s time for you to shine!

The Bible says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). When inflation skyrockets and the prices of commodities increase, don’t cry or complain. It’ll only create opportunities for you because your faith will get you the money you require. Your prosperity isn’t based on what your company pays you or the available opportunities in your country; your prosperity is a function of who you are: an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I affirm that I excel beyond inflation and financial uncertainties. Your Word empowers me to flourish regardless of external circumstances, for you are my true source. I am not a victim of the economy of my nation. I am among those creating opportunities for others. I have already overcome the world and its systems, so I am reigning in life, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.

예수님의 몸은 당신을 위해 부서졌습니다

His Body Was Broken For You

“나는 포도나무요 너희는 가지라 그가 내 안에, 내가 그 안에 거하면 사람이 열매를 많이 맺나니 나를 떠나서는 너희가 아무것도 할 수 없음이라”(요 15:5)

예수님이 오늘의 본문 구절을 말씀하신 날은 그분이 배반당한 날이었습니다. 모든 복음서는 그날 밤에 일어난 사건을 기록했습니다. 공관복음인 마태복음, 마가복음, 누가복음은 예수님이 제자들과 나눈 성찬에 초점을 맞춘 반면, 요한복음은 13장부터 16장까지 기록된 중요한 가르침에 초점을 맞췄습니다. 실로 길고 긴 밤이었습니다.

그날 이른 저녁에 있었던 성찬식에서 아주 중요한 일이 일어났습니다. 바울은 계시를 통해 우리에게 이 일에 대한 통찰을 나눠줍니다. “… 곧 주 예수께서 잡히시던 밤에 떡을 가지사 축사하시고 떼어 이르시되 이것은 너희를 위하는 내 몸이니 이것을 행하여 나를 기념하라 하시고 식후에 또한 그와 같이 잔을 가지시고 이르시되 이 잔은 내 피로 세운 새 언약이니 이것을 행하여 마실 때마다 나를 기념하라 하셨으니.”(고전 11:23-25) 예수님은 제자들에게 “너희를 위해 부서진 나의 몸을 먹어라”고 말씀하셨습니다. 이것은 생명의 떡으로 누구든지 먹으면 영원히 살게 됩니다(요 6:51).

얼마 지나지 않아 예수님은 그들에게 “나는 포도나무요 너희는 가지라”고 말씀하셨습니다. 이는 평범한 가르침이 아니었습니다. 예수님은 종교적으로 말씀하신 것이 아니었습니다. 이 영광스러운 관계는 그들이 떡을 떼고 잔을 마신 뒤 그분의 몸과 피가 되며 이루어졌습니다.

그날 밤 예수님은 이전에는 없었던 새로운 교제로 그들을 인도하셨습니다. 이제 예수님은 그들과 하나가 되셔서 그들을 대신하여 십자가로 향하셨습니다. 당신이 더 이상 부서질 필요가 없는 이유를 아시겠습니까?

당신의 자녀가 아프게 태어날 이유가 없습니다. 당신이 당뇨병, 심장병, 암, 천식, 심지어 독감에도 걸릴 이유가 없습니다. 예수님의 몸이 당신을 위해 부서지셨습니다. 당신이 몸에 증상이 느껴질 때면 어떻게 해야 합니까? 주님은 우리에게 “… 이것을 행하여 나를 기념하라.”고 말씀하셨습니다. 그러므로 성찬을 하며 이렇게 말하십시오. “나는 예수님의 몸이 나를 위해 부서지신 것을 잊지 않았다! 나는 아프기를 거절한다! 나는 내 몸의 신성한 건강을 선포한다.” 할렐루야!

기도

복되신 하늘 아버지, 내 죄를 위한 화목 제물로 예수님을 보내주신 헤아릴 수 없는 사랑에 감사드립니다. 나를 위해 부서진 그분의 몸으로 인해 나는 모든 아픔, 질병, 고통에서 자유합니다. 나는 건강, 힘, 승리 가운데 살고, 당신의 말씀에 뿌리를 내리고, 성령님의 인도를 따릅니다. 나는 많은 열매를 맺으며 당신의 이름에 영광을 나타냅니다. 아멘.

HIS BODY WAS BROKEN FOR YOU

“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5).

The night Jesus made the statement above was the same night He was betrayed. All the gospels recorded events that transpired that night. The Synoptic gospels—Matthew, Mark, and Luke—focused on the Communion Jesus had with His disciples while John focused on certain important teachings Jesus gave from the 13th chapter all the way to the 16th chapter. It was indeed a long night.

Something significant happened during the Communion, which occurred earlier in the night. Paul, by revelation, gives us insight into this: “…the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:23-24). Jesus said to His disciples, “Eat my body which is broken for you.” This was the bread of life that if any man would eat, he would live forever (John 6:51).

Shortly afterwards, He said to them, “I am the vine, ye are the branches…” (John 15:5). This was no ordinary teaching; He wasn’t talking religiously. This glorious relationship came about as they broke bread and drank the cup, being His body and blood.

On that night, He brought them into a new kind of relationship that wasn’t there before. Now, in this oneness with them, He headed to the cross in their place. Do you see why there’s no need for you to ever be broken anymore?

There’s no need for your child to be born sick. No reason for you to be diabetic, to have heart trouble, cancer, asthma, or even the flu; His body was broken for you. What if you feel symptoms in your body? That’s why He said to us, “…this do in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:24). So, as you take the Communion, you say, “I haven’t forgotten that His body was broken for me. I refuse to be sick! I proclaim divine health for my body.”Hallelujah

PRAYER

Thank you, blessed heavenly Father, for your unfathomable love in sending Jesus to be the propitiation for my sin. I’m free from sickness, disease and every form of affliction because of His body that was broken for me. I walk in health, strength and victory, being rooted in your Word and guided by your Spirit. I bear much fruit, bringing glory to your Name. Amen.

믿음은 심령에 달려 있습니다

It’s A Matter Of The Heart

“그 형제들도 예수를 믿지 아니하니라”(요 7:5)

우리는 요한복음 7:3-5을 통해 예수님의 형제자매들에 대한 놀라운 사실을 알게 됩니다. 그들은 예수님에 대해 회의적이었고 그분을 믿지 않았습니다. 그들은 초막절에 참석할 준비를 하면서 예수님께 이렇게 말했습니다 “…당신이 행하는 일을 제자들도 보게 여기를 떠나 유대로 가소서 스스로 나타나기를 구하면서 묻혀서 일하는 사람이 없나니 이 일을 행하려 하거든 자신을 세상에 나타내소서.”

5절에서는 구체적으로 다음과 같이 말합니다. “예수의 형제들이 그분을 몰아붙인 것은 그들도 아직 그분을 믿지 않았기 때문이다.”(요 7:5, 메시지성경) 그들은 천사의 방문을 받았던 어머니 마리아와 아버지 요셉의 이야기를 듣고 예수님의 탄생을 둘러싼 상황을 알고 있었습니다. 하지만 그들은 여전히 믿지 않았습니다.

믿음은 심령으로 하는 것이기 때문입니다. 그리고 하나님께 감사드립니다! 예수님의 기적적인 승천을 목격한 후, 예수님의 형제들의 관점과 생각은 달라졌습니다. 이때가 되어 그들은 믿었습니다. 가장 놀라운 사건이었습니다!

그들이 다른 제자들과 함께 서 있을 때 “그들이 평생 알고 지내던 예수님”은 갑자기 사라지거나 없어지지 않으셨습니다. 오히려 그분은 영화롭게 된 육체를 가지고 그들의 눈앞에서 바로 하늘로 올라가셨습니다. 그때 그들은 자신들과 함께 성장했던 분이 참으로 하나님이심을 깨닫게 되었습니다.

이 놀라운 사건은 그들의 마음속에 예수님의 근원에 대한 의심이나 추측의 여지를 남기지 않았습니다. 이제 그들은 주 예수님이 참으로 위로부터 나셨음을 제대로 이해했습니다(요 8:23). 사도행전을 읽어보면 누가가 사도행전의 가장 첫 번째 장에서부터 예수님의 어머니와 그분의 형제들이 제자들의 무리에 합류하여 그들과 계속 교제했다고 말하고 있습니다(행 1:13-14을 읽어보십시오). 할렐루야!

그렇기 때문에 당신이 어떤 이야기를 들었거나 얼마나 많은 천사의 방문을 받았든지 상관없이, 당신은 여전히 심령으로부터 믿기로 선택해야 합니다. 바울이 로마서 10:10에서 말한 것과 같이 믿음은 심령에 달려 있습니다. “사람이 마음으로 믿어 의에 이르고 입으로 시인하여 구원에 이르느니라.”

진정한 믿음은 심령에서 나옵니다. 그러나 심령은 먼저 정보를 받아들이기 위해 열려야 하며, 정보를 받아들이기 위한 결정이 필요합니다. 할렐루야!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 당신의 말씀의 사역에 계속 노출되고 나의 믿음을 표현할 수 있는 기회를 주셔서 감사드립니다. 내 심령은 언제나 준비되어 있고, 열려 있으며, 당신의 말씀을 기쁘게 받아들일 수 있습니다. 내가 심령과 생각과 행동을 말씀의 진리에 일치시킬 때, 나는 삶을 변화시키는 하나님의 말씀의 능력을 경험하게 됩니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

IT’S A MATTER OF THE HEART

“For neither did his brethren believe in him”(John 7:5).

In John 7:3-5, we’re told something quite staggering about the siblings of Jesus: they were sceptical and didn’t believe in Him. They said to Him as they were getting ready to go for the Feast of Tabernacles, “…Why don’t you leave here and go up to the Feast so your disciples can get a good look at the works you do? No one who intends to be publicly known does everything behind the scenes. If you’re serious about what you are doing, come out in the open and show the world.”

The 5th verse specifically says, “His brothers were pushing him like this because they didn’t believe in him either” (MSG). They were aware of the circumstances surrounding His birth, having heard the story from their mother, Mary, and their father, Joseph, who also had received angelic visitations about Jesus’s birth. Yet, they still didn’t believe.

That’s because believing is of the heart. And thanks be unto God! The perspective and opinion of the siblings of Jesus changed when they witnessed His miraculous ascension. That was when they believed. It was a most remarkable event!

As they stood with the other disciples, the “Jesus whom they had known all their lives,” didn’t suddenly vanish or disappear; rather, in His glorified physical body, He levitated before their eyes right into heaven. For once, they realized that the one whom they had the privilege of growing up with, was truly God.

This incredible event left no room for doubt or speculation in their hearts about His origin. Now, they really understood that the Lord Jesus was truly from above (John 8:23). If you study the book of Acts, Luke tells us in the very first chapter that his mother and his siblings joined the company of disciples and continued with them in fellowship” (read Acts 1:13-14). Hallelujah!

That’s why, no matter the stories you hear and how many angelic visitations you receive, you still have to make the choice to believe from your heart. It’s a matter of the heart, just as Paul puts it in Romans 10:10, “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

True faith stems from the heart. However, the mind must be open to receive the information, and a decision must be made to embrace it. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the opportunity of being regularly exposed to the ministry of your Word, and to express my faith. Always, my heart is set in order, receptive, fully prepared to receive your Word joyfully. I experience the life-changing power of your Word as I align my heart, mind and actions with its truth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

방언기도가 핵심입니다

Praying In Tongues Is Key

“그러나 사랑하는 자여, 성령 안에서 기도함으로 너희의 지극히 거룩한 믿음 위에 [세워진] 너희 자신을 건축하라[진보하라, 점점 더 높아지는 건물처럼 올라가라].”(유 1:20, 확대번역본)

만일 당신이 스스로 발전하고 새로운 수준의 영적 성숙함과 효과를 경험하기 원한다면, 성경은 당신이 해야 할 일이 무엇인지 알려줍니다. 당신의 건강, 학업, 직장, 사업, 재정 등 어떤 분야이든지 엄청난 성장이나 큰 전진을 원하는 곳에서 모두 효과적일 것입니다.

심지어 영혼들을 위해 씨름하거나, 말씀을 이해하는데 어려움을 겪고 있는 사람을 위해 중보 기도하거나, 성령의 일에 둔감한 사람을 위해 중보할 때도 방언기도가 핵심입니다! 당신이 방언으로 기도할 때 성령님은 상황을 다루기 위해 필요한 통찰력과 구체적인 인도를 주십니다. 당신은 충분히 말했는지 혹은 더 말하거나 행해야 할 것이 있는지 분별할 수 있게 됩니다.

그리고 방언기도를 할 때에는 주님을 기다리는 법을 배우십시오. 당신에게 무엇보다 필요한 것은 방향, 즉 기도 가운데 또는 기도 이후의 방향이기 때문입니다. 때때로 오랜 시간 기도하고 영적인 변화도 경험했지만, 자연적인 영역에서는 눈에 띄는 변화가 없었을지도 모릅니다. 왜 그렇습니까? 아마 당신이 모르거나 분별하지 못해서 아직 하지 않은 구체적인 행동이나 단계가 있을 수 있습니다.

성경은 말합니다. “주의 은밀한 일이 그분을 두려워하는 자들과 함께하나니 그분께서 자신의 언약을 그들에게 보이시리로다.”(시 25:14-15, 킹제임스 흠정역) 주님의 은밀한 일은 당신에게 주어졌습니다. 하지만 당신이 이 비밀에 들어가지 못하고 구체적인 상황에 사용하지 못한다면, 그 상황은 변하지 않고 그대로일 것입니다.

당신의 삶과 환경에서 놀라운 결과와 변화를 보고 싶다면, 방언으로 말하십시오. 당신은 지혜로 인도 받을 것이며, 해답을 받았음을 알 수 있을 것입니다.

기도

PRAYING IN TONGUES IS KEY

“But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit”(Jude 1:20 AMPC).

If you desire to improve yourself and operate at a new level of spiritual maturity and efficacy, the Scripture tells you what to do: pray in tongues often. This will work for any area in which you desire to make tremendous progress and take giant strides, be it in your health, academics, job, business, and finances.

Even in contending for the souls of men, or interceding for those who have issues understanding the Word, or those who’re dull in the things of the Spirit, praying in tongues is key! When you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit gives you insights and specific guidance that you need to deal with the situation. You’d be able to discern whether you have said enough or if there is more to be said or done.

Also, in praying in tongues, learn to wait on the Lord, because what you need above all is direction—direction during or after the prayer. Sometimes, you may pray for a long time and experience spiritual changes, but no tangible changes manifest in the physical realm. Why? There may be specific actions or steps to be taken that you haven’t accessed or discerned.

The Bible says, “The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; And he will shew them his covenant” (Psalm 25:14-15). So, the secret is kept for you. But if you don’t access that secret and apply it to the specific situation, the situation may remain unchanged.

If you want to see amazing results and changes in your life and circumstances, speak in other tongues. You’ll also be guided with the wisdom to know you’ve received the answers.

CONFESSION

As I spend quality time to pray in tongues today, I’m improved, built up and edified; I begin to operate at a new level of spiritual maturity and efficiency, I make tremendous progress and take giant strides in every area of my life. I’m sensitive to the leading of the Spirit, attentive to his promptings and signals, as I follow His guidance wholeheartedly, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

온유한 마음을 위해 기도하십시오

Pray For A Receptive Heart

“그러므로 모든 더러운 것과 넘치는 악을 내버리고 너희 영혼을 능히 구원할 바 마음에 심어진 말씀을 온유함으로 받으라”(약 1:21)

다른 사람에게 하나님의 말씀을 전할 때 성령님이 그들의 마음에 역사하시지 않으면, 당신이 어떤 말을 하더라도 아무 일도 일어나지 않을 것입니다. 하나님의 영이 그들의 마음에 역사하지 않으면, 당신의 설교나 가르침은 효과가 없을 것입니다. 그러므로 기도는 매우 중요합니다.

이러한 맥락에서 당신이 다른 사람을 위해 기도할 때, 이 기도는 당신이 아니라 듣는 사람을 위한 기도입니다. 주님께서 그들에게 온유한 마음을 주시고, 그들의 마음을 어둡게 하는 어둠이 사라지고, 그들을 속박하는 악의 세력이 깨지도록 기도하는 것입니다.

PRAY FOR A RECEPTIVE HEART

“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls”(James 1:21).

When you share God’s Word with others, no matter what you say, it may not work unless the Holy Spirit ministers to their hearts. You may preach and teach, but if the Spirit of God isn’t ministering to their hearts, it’s not going to be effective; that’s the reason why prayer is crucial.

When you pray for others in this context, it’s not about you, but your hearers; that the Lord will give them a receptive heart, and that the darkness that blinds their hearts are dispelled and the power of evil holding them in bondage is broken.

Remember the words of Paul the apostle: “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5). As a result, I learnt to pray, saying, “In the Name of the Lord Jesus, you evil spirit of darkness that has blinded and put a mist in the heart of so-and-so to stop him from seeing and understanding the Word; I break your influence on his heart and mind.”

When I started doing this, I got amazing results; the Holy Spirit opened their hearts to receive the truths and teachings of the Word of God without distractions. If there was any hardness or resistance prior to meeting them, it would melt away, and in them, a deep hunger and thirst for the spiritual would be awakened. Praise God!

Always pray earnestly for those to whom and with whom you share the Word of God. When you do, the transformative power of the Word that brings conviction, understanding, and a desire for a closer relationship with the Lord will be kindled within their hearts. Amen.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I pray that the minds of those to whom I preach the Gospel be receptive to your Word as your wisdom leaps out of the message and inundates their hearts; they’ll walk the path of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, being enlightened, refreshed, informed and strengthened to fulfil their purpose in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. 성령님과의 교제가 주는 반박할 수 없는 유익과 축복은 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않습니다. 성령님은 당신 삶의 모든 부분에 관여하기 원하시며, 당신은 반드시 그분이 일하실 수 있도록 허락해야 합니다. 성령님은 당신의 전진, 발전, 번영, 성공이 모든 사람이 볼 수 있을 정도로 분명해지기 원하십니다.

INCONTROVERTIBLE BENEFITS OF FELLOWSHIP

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen”(2 Corinthians 13:14).

The incontrovertible benefits and blessings of fellowship with the Holy Spirit can’t be overemphasized. The Holy Spirit wants to be involved with every part of your life, and you must let Him. He wants your progress, advancement, prosperity and success to be evident for all to see.

Sometimes, a Christian might experience a period of remarkable growth and progress where things are moving swiftly and smoothly. However, there may be occasions when everything suddenly seems to stall. Despite attempting various strategies and ideas, nothing appears to change.

Such scenarios often arise when one starts neglecting the ministry of the Holy Spirit in their personal lives. When the speed or rate of growth reduces or completely stalls, either in numerical growth or finances, or both, and it becomes evident that the previous approaches that worked for others and yourself are no longer yielding the same results, what should you do?

The best thing to do if you want to come out of that situation and elevate your work to a higher level is to fast and pray with the understanding that you are initiating a change and transition within yourself.

The focus of the fast, therefore, should not be about changing the situation, as that is not the root problem. Rather, the key lies in strengthening your personal fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Fasting is a way of turning your spirit and mind away from the carnal things of this world in order to focus them on the Spirit; you set your heart and your mind on the Word in study, meditation and prayer.

Remember, the objective of the prayer and fasting is to nurture and develop an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. By prioritizing this aspect of your life, you can expect to experience the desired changes and growth in other areas as well.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the precious gift of the Holy Spirit—my Helper, Counsellor, Teacher, Advocate, Comforter, Strengthener and Standby—whom you sent to lead and guide me through life, in fulfilling my destiny in Christ. Through my fellowship with the Holy Spirit, I walk in victory today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Labouring Fervently In Prayers

사도 바울은 에바브라를 “항상 기도로 뜨겁게 수고하는” 사람으로 묘사합니다. “뜨겁게 수고하는”이라는 두 단어는 에바브라가 무엇을 어떻게 했는지에 대한 우리가 충분히 이해할 수 있게 합니다. 이 두 단어는 동일한 그리스어 “에고니조마이(agonizomai)”에서 비롯되었으며, “싸우다”라는 뜻입니다!

LABOURING FERVENTLY IN PRAYERS

“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God”(Colossians 4:12).

The apostle Paul cites Epaphras as one “Always labouring fervently in prayers.” Those two words “labouring fervently” are rendered that way to provide a good understanding of what he actually did and how. Both words are from the same Greek word, ‘agonizomai’—fight!

You can read that verse thus, “Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, greets you, always fighting for you in prayers.” A question to ask would be, “If Ephraphas was fighting for them in prayers, who was he fighting against?” It certainly wasn’t God, as it was God who inspired him to pray in the first place; it’s God who hears and answers prayers. So, certainly, God is not the enemy.

Now, the purpose of his prayer gives us an idea of the enemy. His prayer was for the Christians in Colossae that they would stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. This must be because there’s an enemy, Satan, out there trying to stop them from becoming perfect and complete in the will of God. This he tries to do by hindering them or attempting to hinder their Christian growth.

Paul describes these demoniacal forces in Ephesians 6:12 when he said, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” These evil forces are the ones darkening the minds of men, swaying them from the path of God’s truth.

It’s the reason we must fight for them in prayers as Epaphras did. I encourage you to write down names of people whom you might have noticed or heard are not walking in the light of God’s Word or have strayed from the faith and fight for them in prayer. Pray fervently for them every day, and you’d see remarkable results. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I break the influence of the evil spirit of darkness over family members, friends and others around the world who aren’t yet born again. I pray that their minds and hearts are opened to the Lord, as the light of the glorious Gospel shines with great intensity into their hearts to embrace the grace of God for their salvation, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

MAKING DISCIPLES

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world”(Matthew 28:19-20).

The opening text from the New International Version says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations….” The Lord Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations. A disciple is someone who follows their leader.

So, if someone refuses to “follow” you, then you’re yet to truly make that one a disciple. The Master’s vision is for them to become our disciples, accompanying us and emulating our actions in doing the things the Lord asked us to do.

In 1 Corinthians 11:1, the Apostle Paul said, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” Notice that he didn’t say, “I’ve led you to Christ, so follow Him.” No! He explicitly stated, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” Therefore, when we lead souls to Christ, we must teach them to do what we do, and help them cultivate the habit of going to church.

Let them know that church gatherings are mandatory for us as Christians (Luke 4:16). Don’t be satisfied if they only attend special church programs and neglect the actual church services. They must become disciples, and for that to happen, we must lead by example.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I pray for many around the world whose zeal for the things of the Spirit may have dissipated; that their passion be rekindled, and they take their personal times of fellowship with the Spirit and study of the Word, seriously: that there be unity, stability, and growth as we the Church attain the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

그리스도와 교회는 하나입니다. 그리스도는 머리이시고 교회는 그분의 몸입니다. 우리가 그분과 분리되는 것은 불가능합니다. 한 예로, 사도행전 9:3-5에서 우리는 훗날 바울로 불리는 다소의 사울과 주님의 대화에서 그리스도와 교회의 연합에 대한 명확한 설명을 확인할 수 있습니다.

사울은 회심하기 전까지 초대 교회를 파괴하고 모든 곳에서 그리스도인들을 박해했습니다. 주님은 그를 막으시고는 이렇게 물으셨습니다. “사울아 사울아 어찌하여 네가 나를 핍박하느냐?” 주님은 자신과 교회를 매우 가깝게 동일시하십니다. 교회에 대해 저지른 범죄나 악은 곧 예수님께 한 것과 같습니다. 주님은 우리와 한 몸이시기 때문에 그분께 한 일로 받아들이십니다.

그분은 포도나무이시고 교회인 우리는 가지입니다. 그분은 교회의 머리이십니다. “그가 몸인 교회의 머리시라…”(골 1:18) 머리와 몸은 같은 이름, 권세, 정체성을 가지고 있습니다. 따라서 우리는 모두 그리스도라고 불립니다!

우리는 그리스도의 몸 안으로 침례를 받았습니다. 고린도전서 12:27은 “너희는 그리스도의 몸이요 지체의 각 부분이라.”고 말합니다. 또 고린도전서 12:13은 “우리가…다 한 성령으로 세례를 받아 한 몸이 되었고 또 다 한 성령을 마시게 하셨느니라.”고 말합니다. 교회는 자신의 머리나 몸이 가진 이름, 즉 그리스도 외에 다른 이름에 응답하지 않습니다.

이 사실은 당신이 누구인지, 어디에 있는지, 무엇을 가지고 있는지 알게 합니다. 당신은 그리스도와 하나입니다. 예수님이 죽은 자 가운데서 살아나셨을 때, 당신도 그분과 함께 일으켜졌습니다. 이제 예수님은 보좌에 앉으셨으니 당신 또한 다스림, 영광, 권세의 자리에 그분과 함께 앉은 것입니다. 하나님을 송축합니다!

CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH

“And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all”(Ephesians 1:22-23).

Christ and the Church are one. He is the head, and we, the Church are His body. We’re inextricably one with Him. In Acts 9:3-5, for example, we have a clear reference of the union of Christ and the Church in the dialogue between the Lord and Saul of Tarsus, who later became Paul.

That passage reads, “And as he (Saul) journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks (Acts 9:3-5).

Prior to his conversion, Saul wreaked havoc in the early Church and persecuted Christians everywhere, until he had an encounter with the Lord, who intercepted him and asked, “…Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” the Lord intimately identifies Himself with the Church. An offence or evil committed against the Church is committed against Jesus. The Lord takes it personal because we’re of the same stock.

He’s the Vine, and we—the Church—are the branches. He’s the head of the Church: “And he is the head of the body, the church…” (Colossians 1:18). The head and the body have the same name, authority and identity; together we’re called Christ!

We’ve been baptized into the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:27 says, “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.” 1 Corinthians 12:13 says, “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body…and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.” The Church doesn’t answer a name that’s different from that of the head or of the body, which is Christ.

This is to help you see who you are, where you are, and what you have; you’re one with Christ. When He was raised from the dead, you were raised up together with Him. Now that He’s seated on the throne, you’re seated together with Him in the place of dominion, glory and authority. Blessed be God!

PRAYER

Blessed Father, how awesome you are! Thank you for my inextricable oneness with Christ; thank you for bringing me into such sublime union and identity with the Monarch of the Universe. Now I’m seated with Christ in the place of dominion, glory and authority, where I reign and rule over circumstances and situations by the power of the Holy Ghost! Amen.

예수님의 궁극적인 목적

His Ultimate Purpose

“이 비밀은 만세와 만대로부터 감추어졌던 것인데 이제는 그의 성도들에게 나타났고”(골 1:26)

예수님께서 이 세상에 오신 목적은 단지 우리의 죄를 위해 죽기 위함이 아니라 우리를 하나님의 자녀로 만드시기 위함이었습니다. 그리하여 우리가 영생을 얻고 이 세상에서 하나님과 같이 되어 하나님과 교제할 수 있게 하셨습니다.

사탄 또한 이 사실에 대해 알고 있고 이 사실을 너무나도 싫어합니다! 사도 요한은 이렇게 말했습니다. “또 증거는 이것이니 하나님이 우리에게 영생을 주신 것과 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고 하나님의 아들이 없는 자에게는 생명이 없느니라 내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓰는 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라.”(요일 5:11-13)

이제 당신은 거듭났으므로 당신 안에는 하나님의 생명과 본성이 있습니다. 이것이 성경적인 기독교의 본질이며 그것은 바로 당신 안에 살아 계신 그리스도입니다! 골로새서 1:26-27은 말합니다. “이 비밀은 만세와 만대로부터 감추어졌던 것인데 이제는 그의 성도들에게 나타났고 하나님이 그들로 하여금 이 비밀의 영광이 이방인 가운데 얼마나 풍성한지를 알게 하려 하심이라 이 비밀은 너희 안에 계신 그리스도시니 곧 영광의 소망이니라.”

하나님은 온 세상 사람들이 타락하고 죽는 평범한 인간의 삶을 살 필요가 없음을 알게 되길 정말 원하십니다! 예수님이 세상의 모든 사람을 위해 죽으셨고 이로 인해 하나님의 생명이 모든 사람에게 가능케 되었음을 기억하십시오. 오늘 예수 그리스도를 믿고 그분의 주되심을 고백하는 사람은 누구든지 하나님과 같은 생명을 받고 하나님과 하나가 됩니다. 이것이 바로 그리스도의 궁극적인 목적이었습니다.

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 내가 받은 영생의 계시에 감사드립니다. 나는 타락하지 않고, 불멸하고, 영원히 기쁘고, 평안하고, 영광스러운 영역에 거하고 있습니다. 나는 그리스도 예수로 말미암아 생명 안에서 왕 노릇 합니다. 아멘.

HIS ULTIMATE PURPOSE

“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:”(Colossians 1:26).

The purpose of Jesus’ coming to this world was not just to die for our sins. His ultimate purpose was to make us sons of God; so we could have eternal life and be like Him in this world, and in fellowship with God.

This is what Satan knows and hates with a passion! The Apostle John wrote, “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:11-13 NIV).

Now that you’re born again, you have the life and nature of God in you. This is the essence of Christianity according to the Bible; it is Christ alive in you! Colossians 1:26-27 says, “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

O, how He wants the whole world to know that they don’t have to live the ordinary human life that’s depraved and mortal! Remember that Jesus died for everyone in the world, and thus the God-life is available to all. Today, anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and confesses His Lordship receives this God-life and is brought into oneness with God. This was Christ’s ultimate purpose.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I am grateful for the revelation of eternal life that I have received. Therefore, I live in the realm of incorruptibility, immortality, everlasting joy, peace and glory; reigning in life by Christ Jesus. Amen.
