Jesus – God’s Word Manifest In Flesh

“그가 세상에 계셨으며 세상은 그로 말미암아 지은 바 되었으되 세상이 그를 알지 못하였고”(요 1:10)

요한복음 1:14은 말합니다. “말씀이 육신이 되어…” 본질적으로 말씀이 형태가 바뀌어 육신으로 나타나신 분이 예수님입니다! 그렇다면 예수님은 베들레헴에서 태어나시기 전에 어디에 계셨습니까? 그분은 하나님의 말씀으로 하나님 안에 계셨습니다. 예를 들어, 당신의 말은 그것을 말하기 전까지는 지금 당신 안에 있습니다.

말은 단어로 옷 입혀진 생각들입니다. 당신이 말할 때, 당신은 자신의 생각을 말하고 있는 것입니다. 당신의 생각은 다른 사람들이 이해할 수 있도록 언어로 옷 입혀집니다. 따라서, 당신의 생각은 말로 표현되기 전까지 당신 안에 있습니다.

당신이 무언가에 대해 생각하고 있을 때, 그 누구도 당신의 생각을 알아차릴 수 없습니다. 그 생각들은 당신의 마음 안에 숨겨져 있습니다. 하지만 당신이 말할 때, 당신의 말은 실체를 지니고 그 시간에 포착될 수 있습니다. 그래서 우리는 목소리를 녹음하여 나중에 다시 재생할 수 있는 것입니다. 5년이 지나도 당신이 말한 것을 누군가 들을 수 있게 됩니다. 그러나 당신이 그것을 말하기 전까지는 당신의 심령에 숨겨져 있었습니다.

당신의 말이 그 시간에 포착되면, 컴퓨터나 녹음기 밖으로 당신이 말한대로 실체화될 수 있다고 상상해 보십시오. 이것이 바로 하나님께서 예수 그리스도를 통해 행하신 일입니다. 예수님은 하나님의 뜻의 나타남, 하나님의 신성한 목적의 계시, 하나님의 무한한 사랑의 표현이 되셨습니다.

사람들이 예수님의 삶의 몇 가지 측면, 예를 들어 침례 받을 때 하나님이 하늘에서 말씀하셨을 때와 같은 일들로 인해 혼란스러워하는 것은 흔한 일입니다. 그래서 그들은 “예수님이 하나님의 나타남이라면, 어떻게 그분이 침례 받을 때 하나님이 하늘에서 말씀하시지?”라고 말합니다.

하나님의 본성과 능력은 우리의 이해를 훨씬 뛰어넘습니다. 우리는 이를 현대 기술에 비유할 수 있습니다. 제가 어떤 지역에서 설교할 때, 전 세계 모든 국가와 지역에서 다양한 언어로 제 목소리를 들으실 수 있습니다. 그것이 이 세상에서도 가능하다면, 하나님이 하실 수 있는 일들이 무엇일지 생각해 보십시오! 예수님이 이 땅에 계실 때 하늘로부터 말씀하시는 그분의 능력은 인간의 한계를 초월합니다.

JESUS—GOD’S WORD MANIFEST IN FLESH

“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not”(John 1:10).

John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh…” (NKJV). In essence, the Word changed form and became manifest in the flesh, and that’s Jesus! Where was Jesus before He was born in Bethlehem? He was in God as God’s Word. For example, your words right now are in you, until you speak them forth.

Words are thoughts clothed with vocabulary. When you speak, you speak your thoughts. Your thoughts are clothed with language so someone else can understand. So, your thoughts reside within you until you express them in words.

When you’re thinking about something, nobody else can discern your thoughts; they remain concealed within your heart. However, when you speak, your words become tangible and can be captured in time. This is why we can record your voice and replay it later. Five years down the line, someone can hear what you said, but it was hidden in your heart until you uttered it.

Imagine if your words, once captured in time, could step out of a computer or a recorder and materialize as the very things you said. This is precisely what God did through Jesus Christ. Jesus became the embodiment of God’s will, a revelation of His divine purpose, and the manifestation of His boundless love.

If you wanted to understand what God is like, you only needed to look at Jesus. He declared, “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30). And He consistently performed the works and spoke the words that emanated from the Father. In essence, Jesus was the living expression of God’s Word.

It’s quite common for people to be puzzled by certain aspects of Jesus’ life, such as when God spoke from heaven during His baptism. So, they say, “If Jesus was the manifestation of God, how come, when he was being baptized, God spoke from heaven?”

God’s nature and capabilities are far beyond our understanding. We can draw a parallel from modern technology: when I preach from a particular location, anywhere in the world, my voice is heard in every known country and territory on earth and in multiple languages. If that is possible in this world, then think about what God can do! His ability to speak from heaven while Jesus was on earth transcends human limitations.

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, you’re the God of heaven and earth; you pre- existed creation, and by you all things exist and consist. I honour you, for you’re the embodiment of wisdom, grace and truth; the only true God! Thank you for giving me a life of victory, success, prosperity and divine health. I love you forever.

Jesus – The True God And Eternal Life

“영생은 곧 유일하신 참 하나님과 그가 보내신 자 예수 그리스도를 아는 것이니이다”(요 17:3)

우리가 예수 그리스도의 탄생을 축하할 때, 영생의 의미와 중요성을 완전히 이해하는 것이 중요합니다. 영생이 예수님이 가져오신 생명이므로 우리는 그 생명이 의미하는 바를 절대적으로 알아야 합니다. 그렇다면 영생이란 무엇입니까?

영생이 의미하는 바를 이해하려면 먼저 성경이 하나님, 예수 그리스도의 신성, 우상 숭배, 생명 자체에 대해 말하는 내용을 이해해야 합니다. 많은 사람들이 영생이 하나님의 생명이자 본성이라고만 알고 있습니다. 그러나 저는 당신에게 영생에 대한 명확한 정의를 알려드리겠습니다. 영생은 신성의 유기적이고 실존적인 속성입니다.

위에서 언급한 여러 단어들 사이에 신이라 불리는 다른 존재들과 우리 하나님을 구별하는 모든 요소들이 있습니다. 그 속성들은 유기적이어야 하고 실존적이어야 합니다. 그리고 당신은 그러한 속성들이 예수 그리스도 안에서 표현된 것처럼 아브라함, 이삭, 야곱의 하나님 안에서만 찾을 수 있습니다.

우리가 하나님을 볼 수 없기 때문에 무엇이든 주장할 수 있습니다. 우리는 “오, 하나님” 하고 그분을 부를 수도 있습니다. 그러나 당신이 그분을 볼 수 없다면 대체 그분은 어떤 분이십니까? 그래서 많은 사람들이 생각하는 대로 돌, 나무, 혹은 다른 무언가로 그분을 표현해왔습니다. 그러나 우리 하나님은 실재하시고 참되십니다.

예수님이 존재하지 않는다고 주장하는 사람들이 있을 수도 있지만, 그분은 예수 그리스도로 우리에게 오셨습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라”(요 1:14)

예수님은 바로 하나님이십니다. 할렐루야! 그리고 예수님은 영생이십니다. “또 아는 것은 하나님의 아들이 이르러 우리에게 지각을 주사 우리로 참된 자를 알게 하신 것과 또한 우리가 참된 자 곧 그의 아들 예수 그리스도 안에 있는 것이니 그는 참 하나님이시요 영생이시라”(요일 5:20) 요한일서 1:2은 말합니다. “이 생명이 나타내신 바 된지라 이 영원한 생명을 우리가 보았고 증언하여 너희에게 전하노니 이는 아버지와 함께 계시다가 우리에게 나타내신 바 된 이시니라”

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 내 영에 당신의 성품을 계시해 주시니 감사드립니다. 나는 당신의 무한한 사랑에 압도됩니다. 당신의 생명에 참여할 수 있는 특권과 축복을 주시고, 이 땅에서 당신의 찬양과 의를 나타낼 수 있게 해 주셔서 감사합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

JESUS—THE TRUE GOD AND ETERNAL LIFE

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent”(John 17:3).

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, it’s important for us to grasp the full import and meaning of eternal life. The fact that that’s the life that Jesus brought makes it absolutely imperative that we know what it means. What then is eternal life?

To understand what it means, you’d have to first understand what the Scripture says about God, about the divinity of Jesus Christ, idolatry, and life itself. Many have only known eternal life to be the life and nature of God. But I’ll give you a definition that clarifies it. Eternal life is the organic and existential attributes of deity.

In those few words, you have the distinguishing factors—everything that separates our God from all others that may be called gods. These attributes must be organic, and they must be existential. And you can only find that in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as expressed in Jesus Christ.

That is what makes it beautiful because we don’t see Him, and so we could claim anything. We could say, “Oh God,” we can call him God. But who is He when you don’t see him? That is why many have represented God with whatever they think He is—stones, wood, or some materials and shape; but our God is real and true.

Some people may argue that He doesn’t exist, but He came to us in Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:14).

Jesus is Himself, God. Hallelujah! And He is eternal life: “And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” (1 John 5:20). 1 John 1:2: “For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us.”

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the revelation of your personality to my spirit; I’m overwhelmed by your boundless love. I thank you for the privilege and blessing to be a partaker of your life, and show forth your praises and express your righteousness in the earth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

His Goodwill Toward All

“그 지역에 목자들이 밤에 밖에서 자기 양 떼를 지키더니”(눅 2:8)

누가복음 2:8-14에는 베들레헴 근처 들판에서 천사가 목자들에게 전한 소식에 대한 놀라운 기록이 있습니다. 목자들이 밤에 자기 양 떼를 지키고 있을 때, 주님의 천사가 그들 앞에 나타났습니다. 그리고 주님의 영광이 그들을 비추자 그들이 크게 놀라며 두려워했습니다.

천사는 “두려워하지 말라” 하며 목자들을 안심시켰습니다. 그리고 온 백성을 위한 위대한 기쁜 소식을 전하러 갔습니다. 천사는 다윗의 도시에서 구원자, 곧 그리스도 주님이 태어나심을 선포했습니다.

그리고 천사는 목자들에게 새로 태어난 구세주를 찾을 수 있는 표징을 주었습니다. 곧 포대기에 싸여 구유에 뉘어 있는 아기였습니다. 갑자기 하늘에 수많은 천사의 무리가 나타나서 하나님을 찬양하며 선포했습니다. “지극히 높은 곳에서는 하나님께 영광이요 땅에서는 하나님이 기뻐하신 사람들 중에 평화로다 하니라”(눅 2:14) 대단한 선포입니다!

모든 사람을 향한 하나님의 선한 뜻은 그 이후로도 멈추지 않았습니다. 이것이 우리의 복음입니다! 이것이 크리스마스의 의미입니다! 성경은 말합니다. “곧 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계시사 세상을 자기와 화목하게 하시며 그들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 아니하시고 화목하게 하는 말씀을 우리에게 부탁하셨느니라”(고후 5:19)

하나님은 오늘날 모든 나라를 선한 뜻으로 바라보고 계십니다. 예수 그리스도는 하나님의 사랑의 메시지였습니다. 세상을 향한 하나님의 사랑의 편지였습니다. 예수님이 오셨을 때, 그분은 하나님의 뜻과 본성의 표현이셨습니다. 그분은 아버지의 의의 표현이셨습니다! 그분은 하나님의 사랑의 나타남이셨습니다.

하나님의 선한 뜻 중 가장 아름다운 부분은 그분이 우리를 그분의 뜻과 본성의 표현으로 삼으셨다는 것입니다. 고린도후서 5:21은 다음과 같이 선포합니다. “하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라” 그리스도 안에서 우리는 하나님의 의가 되었습니다. 매일의 삶에서 당신은 아버지의 심령을 나타내 보이는 자입니다. 다른 말로, 당신은 아버지의 심령과 뜻을 드러내는 자입니다.

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 모든 사람을 향한 아버지의 사랑, 은혜, 선한 뜻에 감사드립니다. 우리는 당신의 선하심과 자비의 유익을 누리며 진리의 말씀을 전하고 사람들을 그리스도 안에 있는 영광스러운 생명, 평안, 축복, 의로 인도합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

HIS GOODWILL TOWARD ALL

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night”(Luke 2:8).

Luke 2:8-14 provides a remarkable account of the angelic announcement to the shepherds in the fields near Bethlehem. As the shepherds were keeping watch over their flock by night, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, filling them with awe and reverential fear.

The angel reassured the shepherds, saying, “Fear not” and went ahead to deliver the good tidings of great joy that would be for all people. The angel proclaimed the birth of a Savior in the city of David, who is Christ the Lord.

Furthermore, the angel gave the shepherds a sign to find the new-born Saviour. They would find the baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. Suddenly, the heavens were filled with a multitude of angels, praising God and declaring, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:14). What an announcement!

His goodwill toward all men hasn’t stopped since then. This is our Gospel! This is what Christmas is about! The Bible says, “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19).

God is looking at all nations today with goodwill. Jesus Christ was God’s love message; he was God’s love letter to the world. When Jesus came, He was the expression of the will and nature of God; He was the expression of the Father’s righteousness! He was the manifestation of God’s love.

Now, the most sublime thing about His goodwill is that He made us the expression of His will and nature. 2 Corinthians 5:21 declares, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” In Christ, we are made the righteousness of God. Every day of your life, you’re the unfolding of the Father’s heart. In other words, you are the revelation of the Father’s heart and of His will.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for your love, grace and goodwill towards all men; we take advantage of your goodness and mercy to spread your Word of truth and thereby bring men into the glorious life, peace, blessings and righteousness in Christ Jesus, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The Infinite Expanse Of His Dominion

“그의 힘의 위력으로 역사하심을 따라 믿는 우리에게 베푸신 능력의 지극히 크심이 어떠한 것을 너희로 알게 하시기를 구하노라 그의 능력이 그리스도 안에서 역사하사 죽은 자들 가운데서 다시 살리시고 하늘에서 자기의 오른편에 앉히사”(엡 1:19-20)

하나님께서 예수를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리시고 그분의 우편에 앉히셨습니다. “모든 통치와 권세와 능력과 주권과 이 세상뿐 아니라 오는 세상에 일컫는 모든 이름 위에 뛰어나게 하시고”(엡 1:21)

성경에서 우편은 능력의 위치 혹은 장소를 의미합니다. 만일 당신이 “짐은 나의 오른팔입니다.”라고 말한다면, 이는 “짐은 나를 대표하고 나를 대신해서 말합니다. 나는 그에게 나의 권위를 주었습니다.”라는 뜻입니다. 따라서, 예수님이 하나님의 우편에 앉았다는 것은 그분이 권세의 자리에 앉았다는 의미입니다. 하나님은 예수님을 통해 일하십니다. 정말 놀라운 사실입니다!

우리는 예수님의 무한히 확장되는 통치에 대해 주목할 만한 사실을 발견합니다. 그분의 통치는 모든 수준과 계층의 권세를 능가합니다. “모든 통치와 권세와 능력과 주권과 이 세상뿐 아니라 오는 세상에 일컫는 모든 이름 위에 뛰어나게 하시고”(엡 1:21) 하나님을 송축합니다!

주 예수님은 지금 그리고 다가올 시대에도 최고로 다스리십니다. 그분은 만물에 대한 비길 데 없는 권세를 가지시며, 그분의 이름은 모든 이름 위에 뛰어나십니다. 하나님을 찬양합니다! 확대번역본은 이 진리를 다음과 같이 아름답게 표현합니다. 예수님은 “… 이 시대와 이 세상뿐 아니라, 오는 시대와 오는 세상에서도 부여될 수 있는 어떤 이름보다 뛰어나십니다”(엡 1:21)

NLT 번역본은 더욱 흥미로운 사실을 강조합니다. “… 그분은 이 세상이나 오는 세상에 어떤 통치자, 정사, 권세, 리더 혹은 그 어떤 것보다도 뛰어나십니다.” 다시 말해, 당신이 무엇을 말하든 주 예수님의 우월성은 부인할 수 없으며 이는 모든 사람, 한계, 경계를 초월합니다.

그것이 바로 당신이 믿고 있는 주 예수 그리스도이시며, 지금 온 세상이 그분의 탄생을 축하하고 있습니다. 그분의 권세는 끝이 없고 그 무엇도 비길 수 없습니다. 그분의 권세는 영원히 확장됩니다. 할렐루야!

기도

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 예수님을 죽은 자 가운데서 살려 하늘 보좌의 우편, 즉 모든 수준과 계층의 권세, 통치, 모든 이름과 칭호보다 뛰어난 하늘의 자리에 앉히셨을 때 나타난 당신의 전능하신 능력을 경외합니다. 나는 이 영광스러운 능력과 권세의 자리에 그분과 함께 앉아 있고, 이 땅에서 그분의 운영 본부가 되었음에 감사드립니다. 아멘.

THE INFINITE EXPANSE OF HIS DOMINION

“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us- ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places”(Ephesians 1:19-20).

When God raised Jesus from the dead, He set Him at His own right hand, “Far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come” (Ephesians 1:21).

Right hand in Scripture means the place or seat of power. It’s like you say, “Jim is my right-hand man”; it means “Jim represents and speaks for you; you’ve given him your authority. Therefore, Jesus being seated at God’s right hand means He’s seated in the seat of power; God operates through Him. That’s amazing!

But then we observe something remarkable about the infinite expanse of Jesus’ dominion. His dominion surpasses all levels and hierarchies of power. It’s “Far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come.” Blessed be God!

The Lord Jesus reigns supreme in this world as it is now, and also in the ages to come. He holds unmatched authority over all things, and His Name stands above every title. Praise God! The Amplified translation renders it beautifully. It says Jesus is far above “…every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come” (AMPC).

The New Living Translation emphasizes something even more interesting; it says, “…he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else in this world or in the world to come.” In other words, call them whatever you want—the superiority of the Lord Jesus is undeniable—transcending all persons, all limits and all boundaries.

That’s the Lord Jesus Christ in whom you believe and whose birth is celebrated at this time all around the world. His authority knows no bounds and has no equal. His power extends throughout eternity. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I’m in awe of your mighty power, which was demonstrated when you raised Jesus from the dead and set Him at your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all levels and hierarchies of power, dominion and every title or name. Thank you, for I’m seated with Him in this glorious place of power and authority, and have become his operational headquarters in the earth. Amen.

그리스도를 영접했을 때, 당신은 그분의 생명과 본성을 받고 그분과 같이 되었습니다. 요한일서 3:1은 이 진리에 대해 설명해줍니다. “보라 아버지께서 어떠한 사랑을 우리에게 베푸사 하나님의 자녀라 일컬음을 받게 하셨는가, 우리가 그러하도다 그러므로 세상이 우리를 알지 못함은 그를 알지 못함이라”

우리는 그분의 자손입니다. 우리는 혈통으로나 육정으로나 사람의 뜻으로 나지 않고 하나님께로부터 난 자입니다(요 1:12-13). 생각해 보십시오. 당신이 하나님께서부터 난 자라면, 당신은 어떤 자이겠습니까? 신성한 자입니다! 그래서 하나님께서는 시편 기자를 통해 “내가 말하기를 너희는 신들이며 다 지존자의 아들들이라 하였으나”(시 82:6)라고 말씀하신 것입니다.

주 예수님은 이 진리를 다음과 같이 반복해서 말씀하셨습니다. “… 너희 율법에 기록된 바 내가 너희를 신이라 하였노라 하지 아니하였느냐”(요 10:34) 이 세상 사람들은 예수님이 오셨을 때 알아보지 못했던 것처럼 우리를 알아보지 못할 수도 있습니다. 그러나 오늘날 신성한 계시로 말미암아 우리의 눈이 열리고 이 진리를 따라 행하게 되었습니다.

성경은 말합니다. “사랑하는 자들아 우리가 지금은 하나님의 자녀라 장래에 어떻게 될지는 아직 나타나지 아니하였으나 그가 나타나시면 우리가 그와 같을 줄을 아는 것은 그의 참모습 그대로 볼 것이기 때문이니”(요일 3:2) 이 구절이 의미하는 바는 무엇입니까? 바로 우리의 육신이 주님이 다시 오실 때 영광스러운 몸으로 변화될 것이라는 뜻입니다. 그러나 우리는 지금 그분의 생명과 본성을 갖고 있습니다. 주께서 그러하심과 같이 우리도 이 세상에서 그러합니다.

예수님의 부활 이후를 떠올려 보십시오. 제자들이 문과 창문이 모두 닫혀있는 방에 모여 있었는데, 예수님이 벽을 뚫고 그 한 가운데로 들어오셨습니다. 제자들은 처음에 그분이 귀신인 줄 알았습니다. 그래서 예수님은 제자들에게 자신을 만져보라고 하셨습니다. 귀신과 달리 그분은 몸과 뼈가 다 있었습니다. 우리의 신성한 본성, 성품, 정체성이 이 세상 사람들에게 잘 드러나지 않을 수도 있습니다. 그러나 상관없습니다. 우리는 하나님께서 우리가 어떤 자라고 말씀하신 그대로 하나님의 자녀들입니다. 그리고 이 일은 미래에는 물론이고 현재의 실재입니다.

사랑하는 아버지, 내 안에 있는 당신의 생명과 본성에 감사드립니다. 당신의 형상과 모양을 따라 나를 창조하셨음을 알기에 나는 나의 정체성을 기뻐합니다. 따라서 나는 당신의 영광, 위엄, 광채, 의의 참여자입니다. 내 안에서 당신의 유기적이고 실존적인 속성이 나타남에 감사드립니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

WE ARE LIKE HIM

“Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the Day of Judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world”(1 John 4:17).

When you received Christ, you received His life and nature and became like Him. 1 John 3:1 further explicates this truth. It says, “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”

We’re His offspring; born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:12-13). Think about it; if you’re born of God, what does that make you? Divine! No wonder He said through the psalmist, “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” (Psalms 82:6).

The Lord Jesus reiterated this truth when He said, “…Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?” (John 10:34). The people of the world may not recognize us, just as they didn’t recognize Jesus when He came. But today, through divine revelation, our eyes have been opened to this truth to walk accordingly.

The Bible says “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2). What does this mean? It means our physical bodies will be transformed into glorified bodies at the Master’s return, but right now, we have His life and nature—as He is, so are we in this world.

Recall that after His resurrection, His disciples were gathered in a room, with the doors and windows shut, but Jesus came into their midst through a wall. They initially thought He was a ghost, but He invited them to touch Him, emphasizing that He had flesh and bones, unlike a ghost. Outwardly, our divine nature, personality and identity may not be readily apparent to the people of the world, but it makes no difference. We’re who God says we are—sons of God—not only for the future, but right NOW!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for your life and nature in me; I celebrate my identity, knowing that you created me in your image and in your likeness. Thus, I’m a partaker of your glory, majesty, splendour and righteousness. Thank you, for your organic and existential attributes are manifest in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Enjoy The Transcendent Life

오늘의 본문 구절은 마음을 따뜻하게 하고 활기가 넘치게 합니다. 이 구절은 예수님이 오신 구체적인 이유, 즉 당신이 생명을 받고 풍성히 누리게 하기 위함이라는 것을 분명하게 밝힙니다. 잠시 이 사실에 대해 묵상해 보십시오. 예수님은 그분께서 당신에게 주신 초월적인 생명을 당신이 누릴 수 있도록 하기 위해 오셨습니다. 그것인 그분의 계획이며 그분은 당신을 속이지 않으십니다.

그러나 대답은 분명합니다. 이미 언급했듯이, 예수님은 감염될 수 없는 그분의 생명, 즉 아픔과 질병 위에 있는 생명을 주셨기 때문에 우리는 아플 필요가 없습니다. 요한일서 5:11-12은 말합니다. “… 이 생명이 그의 아들 안에 있는 그것이니라 아들이 있는 자에게는 생명이 있고…” 당신은 지금 그 생명을 가지고 있습니다. 그것은 하나님의 생명입니다. 그 생명을 누리십시오!

ENJOY THE TRANSCENDENT LIFE

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows”(John 10:10).

Our opening verse is so heart-warming and enlivening. It clearly states a specific reason for which Jesus came, which is for you to have and enjoy life to the full. Take a moment to meditate on this: He came for you to enjoy the transcendent life that He’s given you. That’s His plan and He doesn’t want anything to cheat you out of it.

This is contrary to what religion teaches. In religion, people may feel compelled to sacrifice themselves to please God. However, in Christ, it’s different. He died and was sacrificed for you. He gave His life for you to have His life.

The Bible says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). In 1 John 3:16, the apostle John reveals, “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us….” Thanks be unto God; after laying down His life for us, He was raised for our justification. And on that basis, you’re to have and enjoy life—to the full, till it overflows.

It may be challenging for some to believe that He came for them to have life and enjoy it, especially if they’ve lived with a different understanding for a long time. Some others may wonder, can one truly enjoy life while battling sickness, pain, weakness or infirmity of the body?

The answer is evident—no! But as already stated, it’s the reason Jesus gave us His life, which is uninfectable; a life that’s superior to sickness and disease. 1 John 5:11-12 says, “…this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life….” You have that life now; it’s the God-life. Enjoy it!

It’s your heavenly Father’s delight to see you healthy, vibrant, strong, joyful, and brimming with life. Therefore, embrace His plan for you to have and enjoy life to the full. Be exuberant with joy as you contemplate the life of glory, dominion, abundant grace, and peace that He’s given you in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, I embrace your plan for me to have and enjoy life to the full. I’m exuberant with joy today as I contemplate the life of glory, dominion, abundant grace, and peace that you’ve given me in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

누군가가 아프거나 질병으로 고통받는 것이 하나님의 뜻이었던 적은 한 번도 없었습니다. 오히려 하나님은 모든 사람이 건강하기를 원하십니다. 오늘의 본문 구절을 다시 읽어보며 주 예수님이 치유해주신 사람들에 주목해 보십시오. 그들은 하나님이 아닌 마귀에게 눌려 있었습니다. 마귀는 그들을 아프게 만들었지만, 하나님은 그들이 건강하기 원하셨기 때문에 그들을 치유하기 위해 예수님을 보내셨습니다.

예를 들어, 가다라 지역에서 귀신 군단에 귀신들린 사람을 생각해 보십시오. 귀신들로 인해 그는 폭력적인 행동을 하고 무덤 사이에 살게 되었습니다. 그러나 예수님은 그에게서 귀신을 쫓아내 주셨습니다. 그리고 그는 즉시 제정신으로 돌아왔습니다(막 5:1-20, 눅 8:26-39).

하나님의 갈망은 요한삼서 1:2에 분명하게 나타나 있습니다. “사랑하는 자여 네 영혼이 잘됨 같이 네가 범사에 잘되고 강건하기를 내가 간구하노라” 이 구절에 대해 생각해 보십시오! 하나님은 당신이 번영하기를 원하십니다. 이는 물질적, 재정적 번영뿐만 아니라 “건강”, 즉 육체적 번영 또는 신체의 안녕을 의미합니다.

HE WANTS YOU WELL

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him”(Acts 10:38).

It has never been God’s will for anyone to be sick or afflicted with diseases and pains. Rather, He wants all men well. Read our opening verse again and notice those the Lord Jesus healed; they were oppressed by the devil, not God. The devil made them sick, but God wanted them well and sent Jesus to heal them.

Consider for example the man who was possessed by a legion of demons in the region of Gadara. The demons caused him to exhibit violent behaviour and live among tombs, but Jesus cast the demons out of him and he was instantly restored to his right mind (Mark 5:1-20, Luke 8:26-39).

In Mark 7:24-30 and Matthew 15:21-28, we read about the Syrophoenician woman who approached Jesus, seeking help for her daughter who was demon- possessed. The Bible shows us how the Lord commended her faith and declared her daughter healed of demonic oppression.

Furthermore, in Mark 9:14-29, Matthew 17:14-21, and Luke 9:37-43 the Bible shows us how a father brought his son to Jesus, explaining that the boy had been suffering from seizures due to a demon. Jesus rebuked the demon and healed the boy. These and several other examples are proof that God wants people well, vibrant, strong and free.

In fact, in 3 John 1:2, His desire is clearly stated. He says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Think about that! He wants you to prosper, and that refers to material and financial prosperity, and also”be in health,” which is the physical prosperity or wellbeing of your body—your health.

Then He adds, “…even as thy soul prospereth,” emphasizing that your spiritual prosperity is paramount, and your soul only prospers through the Word of God! So stay in God’s Word; meditate on it and you’ll always live in health, for God’s Word is medicine—health for the physical body: “My son, pay attention to what I say; listen closely to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man’s whole body” (Proverbs 4:20-22 NIV).

CONFESSION

I declare that sickness, disease, infirmity, weakness, and pain have no place in my body. I walk in perfect health always, for the spirit that raised up Christ from the dead vitalizes, energizes and strengthens me through and through, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

말씀을 행하십시오

Work The Word

“그러므로 나의 사랑하는 자들아 너희가 나 있을 때뿐 아니라 더욱 지금 나 없을 때에도 항상 복종하여 두렵고 떨림으로 너희 구원을 이루라”(빌 2:12)

하나님의 말씀은 행하기 위한 것입니다. 우리는 말씀을 행하는 자입니다. 우리는 말씀을 행합니다. 말씀이 성경의 문자로 남아있는 한, 그 말씀은 당신에게 어떤 결과도 맺지 못합니다. 그러나 당신이 말씀을 묵상하고 입으로 고백하면, 그 말씀은 생명력을 갖고 역사하게 됩니다.

생각해 보십시오. 한 여성이 유방암 진단을 받아서 자신을 위해 기도해달라고 요청해왔습니다. 그러나 저는 그녀에게 스스로 말씀을 적용할 수 있고, 그녀의 입을 사용하여 암세포가 성장하는 것을 멈출 수 있다고 알려주었습니다. 저는 그녀에게 입, 즉 스토마(그리스어)가 무엇인지 설명해 주었습니다. 이것은 무기의 앞부분 혹은 가장자리를 뜻합니다. 그녀는 신나서 즉시 행하기 시작했습니다. 그녀는 일정 기간 동안 믿음이 성장하도록 지속적으로 말했습니다.

하나님은 당신이 영광스러운 삶을 누리는 데 필요한 모든 일을 이미 다 하셨습니다. 그러나 당신에게는 말씀을 자신의 삶에 적용할 책임이 있습니다. 자신의 삶에 하나님의 모든 놀라운 축복이 나타나도록 하는 사람은 바로 당신입니다. 당신의 치유, 번영, 승리, 승진 등을 위한 말씀을 고백하십시오. 동요하지 말고 당신의 번영을 선포하십시오. 할렐루야!

고백

WORK THE WORD

“Wherefore, my beloved… work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”(Philippians 2:12).

The Word of God is for doing; we’re doers of the Word; we work the Word. As long as the Word remains in the pages of your Bible, it won’t produce any results for you. But when you meditate on the Word and speak it forth, it comes alive and active.

Think about this: A lady was diagnosed with breast cancer, and asked that I prayed for her. But I told her she could put the Word to work, she could use her mouth to cut out the cancerous growth. I explained to her what the mouth is—stoma (Greek), the front or edge of a weapon. She was excited, and immediately got to work. She spoke consistently to the growth, in faith, over a period.

When I saw her a few months later, she was completely healed; the cancer had dematerialized and she was perfectly normal. She worked the Word. Glory to God! If you’re sick, broken or afflicted in your body, and you desire to be well, put your faith to work. Work the Word.

All the blessings of God are already packaged and delivered to you in Christ. The Bible says, “All things are yours…” (1 Corinthians 3:21). 2 Peter 1:3 says He’s “…given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness….” Ephesians 1:3 says He has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

God already did everything He needed to do for you to have and enjoy a glorious life. But you have the responsibility to put the Word to work in your life. You’re the one to ensure all the wonderful blessings of God manifest in your life. Affirm the Word for your healing, prosperity, victory, promotion etc. Declare your prosperity without wavering. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

I belong to Christ; therefore, I’m the seed of Abraham, graced for greatness, and ordained to be fruitful and productive in every good work. My life is for the glory of God and I reign and rule by the Word of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. I launch out today in faith, establishing the blessings and goodness of the Kingdom in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

은혜로 충만합니다

Full Of Grace

“말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시매 우리가 그의 영광을 보니 아버지의 독생자의 영광이요 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라”(요 1:14)

오늘의 본문 구절은 주 예수님에 대한 설명 중 하나입니다. 그분은 은혜와 진리가 충만하신 분입니다. 당신도 그렇다는 사실을 알고 계십니까? 요한복음 1:16은 말합니다. “우리가 다 그의 충만한 데서 받으니 은혜 위에 은혜러라”

확대번역 클래식 번역본은 다음과 같이 말합니다. “그분의 충만함(풍성함)으로부터 우리가 은혜 위의 은혜, 영적인 축복 위의 축복, 은총 위에 은총, 선물 위의 선물을 모두 받았습니다(모두 몫을 가졌고 모두 공급을 받았습니다).” 이제 당신은 그리스도 안에 있으므로 당신의 삶은 은총 위에 은총, 은혜 위에 은혜가 넘칩니다.

그리스도인의 삶은 끝없는 은혜의 삶입니다. 날마다 넘치는 은혜가 있습니다. 삶의 무거운 일들에 압도되거나 화낼 필요가 없습니다. 고군분투할 필요가 없습니다. 말씀을 따라 행하십시오. 히브리서 4:16은 말합니다. “그러므로 우리는 긍휼하심을 받고 때를 따라 돕는 은혜를 얻기 위하여 은혜의 보좌 앞에 담대히 나아갈 것이니라”

FULL OF GRACE

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth”(John 1:14).

The opening verse is one of the descriptions given to us in Scripture of the Lord Jesus; He’s full of grace and truth. Are you aware that the same is true about you? In the 16th verse it says, “And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.”

The Amplified Classic says, “For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favour upon favour and gift [heaped] upon gift.” Now that you’re in Christ, your life exudes favour upon favour, grace upon grace.

Every day of your life, you can boldly affirm, “Of His fullness I have received abundant grace—grace heaped upon grace. I have grace before God, grace before men, and grace for every assignment; I have grace everywhere I go, and I’m walking in increased grace every day.”

The Christian life is a life of unending grace; there is more than enough grace for you every day. No need to be overwhelmed or exasperated by the burdens of life. No need for the struggle. Act on the Word. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

What grace do you require? Is it grace to run your home? Is it for your academics? Is it for ministry? Is it to raise your kids? Is it to multiply your finances? That grace is available to you in superabundance; obtain it. Always affirm you’re full of grace, and your life is full of divine favour everywhere and every day.

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the outworking of your grace in my life, which causes me to grow and manifest the beauty, character and blessings of your Spirit. My life is full of grace heaped upon grace, favour upon favour, and blessings upon blessings, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Communicate His Love

“무릇 더러운 말은 너희 입 밖에도 내지 말고 오직 덕을 세우는 데 소용되는 대로 선한 말을 하여 듣는 자들에게 은혜를 끼치게 하라”(엡 4:29)

우리는 그리스도인으로서 그리스도의 영을 갖고 있습니다. 우리는 세상의 빛입니다. 우리는 그리스도처럼 삶의 모든 일을 생각하고, 사랑하고, 말하고, 행동해야 합니다. 골로새서 3:17은 삶의 모든 일들, 우리의 말과 행동을 그리스도의 성품과 일치시키라고 권면합니다. “또 무엇을 하든지 말에나 일에나 다 주 예수의 이름으로 하고…”

즉, 예수님의 성품과 임재가 당신의 일상 생활 속에서 당신을 통해 발산되어야 합니다. 그리스도처럼 자비롭고 품위 있게 말하십시오. 당신의 말을 통해 예수님의 사랑을 행하십시오.

사람들은 당신이 그들에게 한 말과 그 말을 통해 어떤 느낌을 받았는지로 당신을 더 잘 기억합니다. 그러므로 당신의 말로 예수님의 임재와 사랑을 전할 것이라고 결단하십시오. 세상이 당신 안에 있는 예수님을 보게 하십시오. 그들이 당신의 말에서 예수님의 사랑을 느끼게 하십시오.

주 예수님이 “나를 본 자는 아버지를 보았거늘”(요 14:9)라고 담대하게 말씀하신 것처럼, 당신의 간증 역시 “당신이 나를 봤다면 예수님을 본 것입니다”가 되어야 합니다. 그들이 본 당신, 그들이 들은 당신이 예수님이 되게 하십시오.

화가 나더라도 심한 모욕적인 말을 하지 마십시오. 당신의 말로 다른 사람을 슬프게 한 일에 대해 기뻐하지 마십시오. 그것은 당신의 사랑의 본성과 일치하지 않습니다. 예수님처럼 되십시오. 성경은 “많은 무리가 예수의 말씀을 기쁘게 들었다.”(막 12:37, 새번역)고 말합니다. 사람들이 당신의 말을 들을 때, 그들의 심령 안에서 그리스도를 향한 사랑을 불러일으키는 은혜롭고 자비로운 생명의 말씀으로 인해 기뻐해야 합니다.

COMMUNICATE HIS LOVE

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers”(Ephesians 4:29).

As Christians, we have the Spirit of Christ. We’re the light of the world. We’re to think, love, talk, and conduct all our affairs in life like Him. Colossians 3:17 admonishes us to allow every detail in our lives—our words and actions—to align with the Character of Christ: “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus….”

In other words, the character and presence of Jesus ought to radiate through you in your everyday walk. Like Him, let your words be gracious and graceful. Practice the love of Jesus through your words.

People remember you more for the things you said to them, how you made them feel through your words. So, make up your mind that your words would communicate the presence and love of Jesus. Let the world see Jesus in you. Let them feel His love in the words you speak.

In the same way that the Lord Jesus was confident to say, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father” (John 14:9 CEV), your testimony ought to be, “If you have seen me, you have seen Jesus.” Let Him be who they see and hear when they listen to you.

Never use terrible, abusive and insulting words even if you’re angry. Never be happy that your words made someone else sad. That’s inconsistent with your nature of love. Be like Jesus: the Bible says, “And the common people heard him gladly”(Mark 12:37). When people hear you, they should be glad because of your gracious and graceful words of life to them that stir the love for Christ in their hearts.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for your wisdom that’s in my heart and in my words, and your love that’s seen and heard in me today. Through my words, lives are transformed and improved; those you’ve placed in my path are blessed, encouraged, and edified by my gracious and graceful words, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
