“주와 합하는 자는 한 영이니라”(고전 6:17)

기독교가 실제로 어떤 것인지 잘 모르는 사람들이 있습니다. 그들은 자신이 누군인지 잘 모르기 때문에 정체성의 위기를 겪습니다. 어떤 사람들이 아프고 고통받으며 항상 의학적 치료를 받는 것도 이와 같은 이유입니다. 이 글을 읽는 어떤 사람들은 이렇게 질문할 수도 있습니다. “그렇다면 그리스도인들은 아프면 안된다고 말씀하시는 건가요?”

네, 그리스도인들은 아프지 않아야 합니다! 그리스도인은 영생을 가지고 있으며, 그 생명은 질병이나 쇠퇴, 죽음보다 위에 있습니다. 예수님이 이 땅에서 누렸던 생명과 동일한 생명입니다. 예수님은 한번도 아프지 않으셨습니다. 그 동일한 초자연적인 생명 곧 전염병과 질병으로부터 완전히 자유한 생명이 그분께서 우리에게 주신 생명입니다. 할렐루야! 이제 당신은 예수님이 마가복음 16:17-18에서 말씀하신 내용을 더 잘 이해할 수 있습니다. “믿는 자들에게는 이런 표적이 따르리니 곧 그들이 내 이름으로 귀신을 쫓아내며 새 방언을 말하며 뱀을 집어 올리며 무슨 독을 마실지라도 해를 받지 아니하며 병든 사람에게 손을 얹은 즉 나으리라 하시더라” 예수님께서 이렇게 말씀하셨고, 그분은 누구에게도 거짓말하지 않으십니다.

그리스도인은 하나님과 같은 부류에 속해 있습니다. 그리스도인은 단순히 종교인이 아닙니다. 기독교는 종교가 아니라 인간 안에 살아있는 하나님의 생명입니다. 기독교는 당신 안에 살아 계신 그리스도이며, 실재하고 살아 계신 그리스도와의 실제적인 관계입니다. 예수 그리스도의 신성한 생명이 당신에게 주어졌습니다. 이것은 실제적인 경험입니다. 거듭난 순간 그분은 당신을 거처로 삼으셨습니다.

이 사실을 정말로 깨닫게 된다면, 당신은 날마다 기쁨으로 충만해질 것입니다. 사도 베드로는 그리스도인으로서 우리가 소유하고 물씬 풍기는 기쁨에 대해 말했습니다. 그 기쁨은 말로 다 할 수 없으며 영광으로 가득합니다. 당신이 그리스도의 영광과 의를 나타내기 위해 태어났을 때 왜 기쁘지 않겠습니까? 당신이 그분과 분리될 수 없도록 하나가 되었을 때 왜 기쁘지 않겠습니까?

그렇다면 질병, 결핍, 낙담, 우울 등이 어떻게 당신에게 자연스러울 수 있겠습니까? 방금 언급된 것들은 세상 사람들이 겪는 것들입니다. 그러나 당신은 다릅니다! 빌립보서 2:12은 이렇게 말합니다. “그러므로 나의 사랑하는 자들아 너희가 나 있을 때뿐 아니라 더욱 지금 나 없을 때에도 항상 복종하여 두렵고 떨림으로 너희 구원을 이루라”

당신의 기독교를 “살아냄”으로써 실재로 만드십시오. 말씀은 당신이 행할 때까지는 일하지 않습니다. 당신 안에서 역사하는 그분의 능력으로 행해야 하는 사람은 바로 당신 자신입니다. 당신의 능력으로 말씀을 붙잡고 말씀으로 살아 가십시오. 그러면 당신의 삶은 탁월해지고 영광으로 충만해질 것입니다.

고백
그리스도는 내 안에 살아 계십니다! 나는 하나님과 같은 부류의 교제 안으로 부름 받았기 때문에 평범하지 않습니다. 그러므로 나는 아픔, 질병, 실패, 결핍 그리고 마귀로부터 말미암은 모든 것에 대한 다스림을 행사하며, 매일 내 안에 계신 그리스도의 활기 넘치는 생명을 나타냅니다. 할렐루야!

UNDERSTANDING CHRISTIANITY

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17).

There’re those who aren’t sure what Christianity really is. So, they suffer from an identity crisis, because they don’t know who they are. It’s the same reason some get sick and afflicted, always seeking medical attention. Now, someone may wonder, “Are you saying Christians aren’t supposed to be sick?”

Yes, Christians aren’t supposed to be sick! The Christian has eternal life, and that life is superior to sickness, decay, and death. It’s the same life that Jesus had when He walked the earth. Jesus was never sick. That same supernatural life, which is absolutely infection and disease-proof, is what He’s given to us. Hallelujah! Now you can further understand why He said in Mark 16:17-18, “These signs shall follow those who believe; if they drink anything deadly, they’ll not be hurt.” Jesus said so, and He never lied to anybody.

The Christian belongs in God’s class; he’s not a mere religious person. Christianity isn’t a religion at all; it’s the active life of God in a human being. Christianity is Christ alive in you; it’s a real relationship with the real and living Christ. In Christianity, the divine life of Jesus Christ is imparted to you; it’s a real experience. Christ took up His abode in you the instant you were born again.

When you really get to know this, every day of your life, you’ll be so full of joy! The Apostle Peter talked about the joy that we have and exude as Christians: it’s indescribable and full of glory. Why wouldn’t it be, when you were born to express and manifest the glory and righteousness of Christ? Why wouldn’t it be, when you’re joined to the Lord; inseparably one with Him?

How then could sickness, lack, discouragement, depression, be normal with you? Those are things that the people of the world suffer; but you’re different! Philippians 2:12 says, “…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Make your Christianity real by “living” it. The Word won’t work until you work it. You’re the one to work things out, by His power working in you. Take a hold of the Word, and live by it, and your life will be excellent and full of glory.

CONFESSION
Christ is alive in me! I’m not ordinary, for I’ve been called into the fellowship of the God-kind. Therefore, every day, I manifest the pulsating life of Christ, exercising dominion over sickness, disease, failure, lack and everything that’s of the devil! Hallelujah!

We’re Not Mere Humans

“내가 하나님의 아들의 이름을 믿는 너희에게 이것을 쓰는 것은 너희로 하여금 너희에게 영생이 있음을 알게 하려 함이라”(요일 5:13)

오늘의 본문 구절에 사도 요한은 “네가 영생을 가지고 있다는 것을 네가 알기를 원한다”고 말합니다. 이것은 그리스도인인 우리는 그저 인간의 존재가 아니라는 것을 알려줍니다.

당신이 이 사실을 믿고 받아들이고 이해하는 것은 매우 중요합니다. 당신이 단순히 인간이 아니라는 것을 알기 전까지는 다른 사람들처럼 타락한 세상의 영향을 받기 때문입니다. 성경은 우리가 정욕으로 인해 세상에 있는 타락을 피하여 하나님의 본성에 동참하는 자가 되었다고 말합니다(벧후 1:4).

거듭났을 때, 실제로 어떤 일들이 일어났습니다. 당신은 실제로 다시 태어났습니다. 고린도후서 5:17은 말합니다. “그런즉 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다” 진부한 표현이 아닙니다! 그리스도 안에 있다는 것은 그리스도 안에서 태어났다는 의미입니다. 그리스도 안으로 침례 받았습니다(갈 3:27). 이는 당신이 그분 안으로 들어가 그분과 하나가 되었다는 뜻입니다.

이제 당신은 그리스도 안에서 하나님의 생명과 본성을 가지고 있습니다. 당신은 다른 종류의 존재가 되었습니다. 그리고 성경에 따르면 당신은 두 가지 본성을 가질 필요가 없습니다. 당신의 옛 본성은 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못 박혔습니다(롬 6:6). 당신 안에는 다른 생명 곧 부활의 생명이 있습니다.

야고보서 1:18은 말합니다. “그가 그 피조물 중에 우리로 한 첫 열매가 되게 하시려고 자기의 뜻을 따라 진리의 말씀으로 우리를 낳으셨느니라” 밑줄 그어진 부분은 당신이 다른 종류의 사람, 즉 “하나님과 같은 종류의” 사람이 되었다는 것을 나타냅니다. 거듭남으로써 당신은 그리스도에 대한 지식 뿐만 아니라 그리스도와의 연합 안으로 들어왔습니다. 이는 당신을 하늘의 일원이 되게 했습니다. 그러므로 예수님께서 요한복음 10:34에서 이렇게 말씀하신 것은 당연합니다. “…너희 율법에 기록된 바 내가 너희를 신이라 하였노라…” 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

고백
나는 내 영에 하나님의 생명과 본성을 가지고 있기 때문에 하나님과 같은 종류의 사람입니다. 나는 더 이상 평범한 인간이 아닙니다. 나는 그리스도에 대한 지식과 그분과의 연합 안으로 들어왔으며, 이는 나를 하늘의 일원이 되게 했습니다. 나는 내가 누구인지 압니다! 그러므로 나는 삶을 다스리고 통치하며 성령의 능력으로 영광스럽게 승리합니다. 아멘!

WE’RE NOT MERE HUMANS

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life… (1 John 5:13).

In the verse above, the Apostle John says, “I want you to know that you have eternal life.” This simply lets us know that as Christians, we’re not mere humans. It’s so important that you believe, accept and understand this, because until and unless you know that you’re not a mere human being, you’re going to be subject to what human beings are subject to: the corrupting influences of this present world. The Bible says we’ve escaped the corruption that’s in the world, through lust, being associates of the God-kind (2 Peter 1:4).

Something indeed happened when you were born again; you were actually reborn. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” This isn’t a cliché! To be in Christ means you’re born into Christ; baptized into Christ (Galatians 3:27). This means you’re immersed into Him and have become one with Him.

Now that you’re in Christ, you have the life and nature of God. You’re a different kind of being. And according to the Bible, you don’t have two natures; your old nature was crucified with Christ (Romans 6:6). You have another life, the resurrection life, inside you now.

James 1:18 says, “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” The underlined portion indicates that you’re another kind of man—the “Godkind” of man. Being born again, you were brought, not only into a knowledge of Christ but also into a union with Him that has made you an associate of the heavenly pantheon. No wonder Jesus said in John 10:34 (NKJV), “…Is it not written in your law, I said, You are gods?” Glory to God!

CONFESSION
I’m the God-kind of man, because I have the life and nature of God in my spirit. I’ve ceased to be human, for I’ve been brought, not only into a knowledge of Christ but, also into a union with Him that has made me an associate of the heavenly pantheon. I know who I am! Therefore, I rule and reign in this life, prevailing gloriously by the power of the Holy Ghost. Amen!

Stand In The Gap

“시몬아, 시몬아, 보라 사탄이 너희를 밀 까부르듯 하려고 요구하였으나 그러나 내가 너를 위하여 네 믿음이 떨어지지 않기를 기도하였노니 너는 돌이킨 후에 네 형제를 굳게 하라”(눅 22:31-32)

말씀을 공부할 때 저는 이 구절을 여러 번 읽으면서 이런 말을 한 적이 있습니다. “주 예수님, 왜 시몬을 위해 기도하셔야 했나요? 주님은 하나님이 아니신가요? 왜 그냥 시몬을 바꿔버리지 않으셨나요?” 왜 예수님은 시몬에게 예언하며 “너의 믿음은 실패하지 않을 것이다.”라고 말씀하지 않으셨을까요? 오히려 그분은 “내가 너를 위해 기도했다.”고 말씀하셨습니다. 당신이 다른 사람을 위해 기도한다면 그것은 오직 소망 가운데 기도하는 것입니다. 그러므로 예수님은 베드로를 위해 소망 가운데 기도하셨습니다. 이것은 굉장히 교훈적입니다.

때때로 주님께서는 우리의 눈을 열어 주셔서 우리가 그분 안에서 형제자매들을 보게 하시고, 그들이 있어야 하는 곳에 있도록 중보하게 하십니다. 그것은 목사만의 책임이 아닙니다. 주님은 당신이 다른 사람들을 위해 중보하기를 기대하십니다. 잃어버린 자뿐 아니라 이미 주님 안에 있지만 잘못된 방향으로 가고 있는 사람들을 위해 기도해야 합니다.

주님이 베드로를 위해 기도하셨다면 우리도 형제자매들의 믿음이 실패하지 않도록 그들을 위해 기도할 필요가 있습니다. 그들이 넘어지는 것을 바라만 보거나 그들의 실수에 대해 비판하지 마십시오. 그들을 위해 갈라진 틈에 서십시오.

또한 예수님께서 “시몬아, 사탄이 너를 건드리지 못하도록 내가 너를 위해 기도했다.”고 말씀하지 않으신 것이 흥미롭지 않습니까? 그분은 사탄이 그를 공격하지 않도록 기도하지 않으시고, 오히려 베드로의 믿음이 승리하도록 기도하셨습니다. 이 사실이 우리에게 말하는 바는 무엇입니까? 중요한 것은 사탄이 아니라 우리의 믿음입니다. 상황이 얼마나 나쁜지, 병이 얼마나 심각한지, 고통이 얼마나 끔찍한 지는 중요하지 않습니다. 당신의 믿음이 승리할 만큼 강한지가 중요합니다.

그러므로 죄나 질병, 결핍 등으로 사탄에게 공격받는 그리스도인들을 발견한다면, 그들이 처한 상황과 관계없이 그들의 믿음이 실패하지 않도록 기도하는 것이 당신의 사역입니다.

기도
귀하신 아버지, 오늘날 믿음의 시련을 겪고 있는 그리스도인들을 위해 그 틈에 서 있는 특권을 주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 그들이 겪고 있는 어려움들이 그들을 압도하지 못하고 그들이 유혹에 굴복하지 않기를 기도합니다. 그들이 요동하지 않도록 성령으로 말미암아 속사람이 능력으로 강건해질 때 그들의 믿음은 승리합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

STAND IN THE GAP

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not… (Luke 22:31-32).

In my study of the Word, I’ve read this verse of scripture above many times. On one occasion, I said, “Lord Jesus, why did you have to pray for Simon? Aren’t you God? Why didn’t you just change him?” Why didn’t Jesus just prophesy to Simon and say, “Your faith will not fail”? Rather, He said, “I have prayed for you.” That’s because when you pray for someone, you can only do so in hope. So, Jesus prayed in hope for Peter. This is so instructive.

From time to time, the Lord opens our eyes to see some of our brothers and sisters in the Lord that we need to intercede for, to get them over to the place where we believe they ought to be. It’s not an exclusive responsibility of the Pastor. It’s something the Lord expects of you: that ingredient of mindful, deep prayer of intercession for others, not only for the lost but also for the one who’s already in the Lord but may be going astray.

If the Master would pray for Peter, how much more are we required to pray for our brothers and sisters that their faith fail not. Don’t watch them go down or criticise them for their mistakes. Stand in the gap for them.

Also, isn’t it interesting that Jesus didn’t say, “Simon, I have prayed for you that Satan touch you not”? He didn’t pray that Satan wouldn’t attack him. Rather, He prayed that Peter’s faith should prevail. What does this tell us? Satan isn’t a factor; the factor is our faith. It’s not about how bad the situation is; it’s not about how severe the sickness is; it’s not about how terrible the pain is; it’s about your faith being strong enough to prevail. That’s what matters.

So, when you see Christians who are being attacked by the devil in whatever way, whether by sin, sickness or lack, it’s part of your priestly ministry to pray for them that their faith doesn’t fail, irrespective of the situation they’re in.

PRAYER
Precious Father, I thank you for the privilege to stand in the gap for Christians whose faith may be under attack today; their faith prevails, as they’re strengthened with might by your Spirit in their inner man to remain steadfast and immoveable, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“너희 마음의 눈을 밝히사 그의 부르심의 소망이 무엇이며 성도 안에서 그 기업의 영광의 풍성함이 무엇이며”(엡 1:18)

계시가 진보적이라고 말할 때에 이는 꼭 새로운 무언가가 더해지거나 하나님께서 때마다 계시를 더 주신다는 의미가 아니라, 성경에 이미 기록된 것들에 대해 우리의 영적인 눈이 더 밝아진 것입니다. 그럼에도 진보적이라고 말하는 이유는 우리가 자라고 있기 때문입니다. 우리는 배우고 있고 우리의 이해는 증가하고 있습니다.

당신이 성경을 공부하면 발견하는 것만큼 계시가 있을 것입니다. 그러나 많은 사람들이 말하는 바는 대부분 발견된 것이지 계시가 아닙니다. 왜냐하면 하나님의 말씀은 온전하기 때문입니다. 성령을 통해 바울, 베드로, 그리고 다른 사도들이 성경에서 뭐라고 말했는지 생각해 보십시오. 그보다 더 좋을 수 없습니다. 당신은 “새로운 계시”를 만들어 낼 수 없습니다. 반드시 예수님께서 하신 일에 근거해야 하기 때문입니다. 고린도전서 3:11은 말합니다. “이 닦아 둔 것 외에 능히 다른 터를 닦아 둘 자가 없으니 이 터는 곧 예수 그리스도라”

당신이 오늘날 발견하는 것 중에 성경에 존재하지 않았던 것은 없습니다. 그러나 당신이 말씀을 공부하고 있을 때라 할지라도, 성령께서 당신에게 말씀에 대한 지식을 알려주실 때까지는 깨닫지 못하는 것들도 있습니다. 당신의 삶을 변화시키는 것은 오직 성령께서 주시는 더 높은 차원의 이해입니다. 이는 모든 방면에서 당신의 삶에 영향을 줍니다. 당신의 기도가 바뀔 것이고 사고방식이 달라질 것입니다. 복음에 있어서 당신의 일과 사역은 더욱 효과적으로 바뀔 것입니다.

불현듯 당신은 오랫동안 “소망”해왔던 것들을 깨닫게 될 것입니다. 하나님께서 당신에게 자비를 베푸시고 도우셔서, 당신에게 필요했던 것은 더 높은 차원의 이해였다는 것을 깨닫게 될 것입니다. 그것은 바로 당신이 인생에서 필요로 하는 모든 것들은 이미 당신 안에 있으며 벌써 공급되었다는 것을 아는 것입니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

고백
하나님의 말씀은 나의 유익과 전진과 축복과 승진을 위한 것이라고 선포합니다. 나의 심령과 생각은 말씀을 받고 이해하기 위해 열려 있으므로 나는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 믿음으로 말미암아 구원에 이르는 지혜가 있습니다. 말씀은 내 삶에서 효과적이며 말씀이 말하는 바를 내 안에서 창출합니다. 할렐루야!

INCREASE IN UNDERSTANDING

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints (Ephesians 1:18 NKJV).

When we say revelation is progressive, it doesn’t mean that we’re adding any new thing or that God brings more revelation from time to time. It just means that our spiritual eyes are further enlightened to what’s already been revealed in the Scriptures. The reason it’s progressive is that we’re growing; we’re learning more, and increasing in our understanding.

As you study the Scriptures, there’ll be revelations as well as observations. However, much of what most talk about aren’t even revelations, but observations, because the Word of God is complete. Think about what Paul, Peter, and the other apostles said in the Scriptures, by the Holy Ghost; it doesn’t get better than that. You can’t create a “new revelation,” because it’s got to be based on what Jesus came to do. 1 Corinthians 3:11 says, “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

There’s nothing you’d discover today that’s not already in the Scriptures. But you see, even when you study the Word, you may never know some things, until the Spirit imparts that knowledge to you. And that is what’s important. The only thing that’ll change your life is that higher understanding that the Spirit gives; it’ll impact your life in every way. Your prayer will change; your thinking will change. You’ll become so much more effective in your work and ministry in the Gospel.

Suddenly, you’d realise that all that time you were “hoping” that one day, God would have mercy on you and help you, what you needed was the higher understanding that everything you could ever need in your life was already in you; already provided for. Glory to God!

온전함을 믿으십시오
Perfection Is Possible

“그러므로 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지의 온전하심과 같이 너희도 온전하라”(마 5:48)

어떤 사람들은 말씀을 정확하게 배우지 못했기 때문에 잘못된 가르침이나 생각들을 수년간 붙잡고 믿고 있습니다. 좋게 들리거나 종교적으로 들린다고 해서 하나님의 말씀과 일치하는 것은 아닙니다. 예를 들어, “우리는 절대 온전해질 수 없어요. 우리가 이 육체 안에 있는 한 우리는 죄를 지을 거에요. 계속해서 실수도 하겠죠.”라고 말하는 사람들이 있습니다. 그러나 이것은 성경이 가르치는 바는 아닙니다.

대부분의 사람들은 자신의 경험을 통해 그러한 신념을 가지게 되었습니다. 그들은 살면서 실수를 하기 때문에 다른 모든 사람들도 실수하고 살 것이라고 생각합니다. 그러므로 그들은 온전함을 믿지 않습니다. 그러나 문제는 그들이 그리스도 안에 있는 온전함이 무엇인지 모른다는 것입니다. 말씀을 공부해보면 온전함이 불가능하다고 말하는 구절은 하나도 없다는 것을 알게 됩니다.

PERFECTION IS POSSIBLE

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48).

Some people, because they haven’t been accurately taught the Word, believe and hold on to wrong teachings and ideas for many years. That something sounds nice and religious doesn’t mean it’s consistent with God’s Word. For example, there’re those who say, “We’re never going to be perfect. As long as we’re in this physical body, we’re going to sin; we’re going to keep making mistakes.” But this isn’t what the Bible teaches.

Many of those who have such beliefs got it from their own experiences. They think everybody else is making mistakes somehow, because they’re making mistakes in their own lives. So, they don’t believe in perfection. But the problem is that they don’t know what perfection in Christ is. When you study the Word, there’s no place that suggests to us the impossibility of perfection.

We read in our theme verse: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” The word, “perfect” is the Greek, “teleios,” meaning “full grown”; complete and nothing lacking. In this verse, God wants you to measure your heart with the heart of God. And the way to do this is through the Word.

When you think, love and forgive others as God wants you to; when you have the heart of the Father, that’s being perfect as He is perfect. If we couldn’t be perfect, God would never require it of us. Inspire those around you by the excellence of your life, and the perfection with which you do what you do, through the Spirit. The Bible says He’s called us to “glory and virtue” (2 Peter 1:3). That means He’s called you to excellence; therefore, living an excellent life is native to your spirit.

Believe in perfection, for that’s your life and nature in Christ Jesus. The Bible says He died to present you sin-free and perfect before the Father: “And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight” (Colossians 1:21-22 NKJV).

CONFESSION
I have the mind of Christ; therefore, the perfection of the Spirit works in me, for He’s called me to glory and excellence! I’m perfect and flawless, lacking nothing, because as He is, so am I in this world. I’m unblameable, unreproveable and complete in Christ. My life is an expression of His perfections and glory, to the praise and glory of His Name. Hallelujah!

Renewing The Character Of Your Mind

“너희는 이 세상과 일치하지 말고 너희 생각을 새롭게 함으로써 변화를 받아 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 입증하도록 하라”(롬 12:2)

당신의 생각은 매우 중요합니다. 생각은 영으로 들어가는 문이고, 영에서 나오는 것들이 세상 밖으로 나가는 문이기도 합니다.

오늘의 본문 구절 중 밑줄 친 부분인 “너희 생각을 새롭게 함으로써 변화를 받아”는 당신의 생각을 하나님의 생각으로 바꾸는 것을 의미합니다. 당신의 육신적인 생각과 아이디어를 버리고 그분의 영광스러운 생각과 아이디어를 받아들이십시오. 위 구절의 후반부는 이렇게 말합니다. “하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 입증하도록 하라”

“입증(prove)”이라는 단어는 헬라어 도키마조(dokimazo)로부터 왔으며, 면밀히 조사하고 검사한다는 의미입니다. 간단히 말하자면 밀수품 같은 불법적인 수출이나 수입을 막는 세관 공무원과 같은 것입니다. 세관 공무원은 그런 물품들을 발견하면 해당 물품의 반입을 금지시킵니다. 이것이 성경에서 말한 생각을 새롭게 한 일의 결과입니다. 당신은 “입증”할 수 있습니다. 즉 당신이 받아들이려는 생각들이 하나님의 말씀과 당신의 삶을 향한 그분의 완전한 뜻과 일치하는지 면밀히 조사할 수 있다는 의미입니다.

거듭난 당신은 탁월함 만을 생각하고, 탁월한 그림만 봐야 합니다. 순결하고, 의롭고, 정직하고, 사랑스럽고, 좋은 평판을 얻는 일들에만 당신의 생각을 집중하십시오. 당신은 이제 달라졌기 때문에 이전의 삶의 방식을 지속할 수 없습니다.

RENEWING THE CHARACTER OF YOUR MIND

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2).

Your mind is very important. It’s the door to your spirit, and it’s also the door from your spirit out, to bring something into the natural world.

The underlined portion of our opening verse tells us, “…be ye transformed (metamorphosed) by the renewing of your mind….” This means you exchange your thoughts for God’s thoughts; you cast away your carnal thinking, your fleshly ideas, and receive His glorious thoughts and ideas. The latter part of it says, “…that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

The word, “prove” is from the Greek—dokimazo— meaning to scrutinise or examine. Simply, it’s like the Customs official who’s assigned the responsibility of disallowing illegal exports and imports—interdiction of contrabands. Once he sees such, he disallows it from entering the country. That’s what that scripture is making us understand as the result of renewing the mind. You’re able to “prove,” that is, scrutinise the thoughts you allow to go through your mind, to be sure they’re consistent with God’s Word and His perfect will for your life.

Now that you’re born again, you’re required to think excellence and only see pictures of excellence.

Focus your mind on things that are pure, just, honest, lovely, virtuous and of good report (Philippians 4:8). You can’t afford to continue with the old way of life; you’re different now.

Ephesians 4:22-23 says, “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” It’s expressing the same thought: think and live differently now that you’re a child of God. As you do this, you’d be giving vent to the glory in your recreated human spirit; the beauty of the Spirit in you will be revealed on the outside in an ever-increasing measure. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
I’ve been clothed with the new spiritual self, which is renewed and moulded after the image and likeness of God. I think excellent thoughts and only see pictures of excellence, success, victory and abundance! My mind is focused on things that are pure, just, honest, lovely, virtuous and of good report. Glory to God!

Divine Transfiguration

많은 경우 사람들은 “오 하나님! 당신의 영광이 제게 임하게 해주세요.”라고 기도하지만, 신약에서 그것은 올바른 기도가 아닙니다. 구약에서 모세에게 일어났던 일을 흠모하는 많은 사람들이 그런 식으로 기도하곤 합니다. 하나님의 영광이 모세에게 임하여 그의 용모에도 그 영광이 나타났습니다. 그러나 우리는 그보다 더 좋은 것을 가지고 있습니다. 바로 영광의 성령께서 우리 안에 사십니다.

우리 안에 있는 것은 더욱 탁월하고 뛰어난 영광입니다. “정죄의 직분도 영광이 있은즉 의의 직분은 영광이 더욱 넘치리라 영광되었던 것이 더 큰 영광으로 말미암아 이에 영광될 것이 없으나 없어질 것도 영광으로 말미암았은즉 길이 있을 것은 더욱 영광 가운데 있느니라”(고후 3:9-11)

오늘의 본문 구절을 다시 읽어보십시오. “기도하실 때에 용모가 변화되고 그 옷이 희어져 광채가 나더라” 이 구절은 예수님이 산에서 기도할 때 일어났던 일에 대해 말합니다. 예수님은 변하셨고, 넘치는 영광이 그분에게서 뿜어져 나와 그분의 외모가 바뀌었습니다. 그 영광과 능력은 그분 안에 있었습니다.

우리가 기도할 때에 같은 일이 일어납니다. 우리가 변화하고 우리의 용모에서 눈부시게 빛나는 영광이 있게 하려면 두 가지 일을 해야 합니다. 이 일들을 더 많이 할수록 당신은 더 많은 변화를 경험할 것입니다. 첫 번째는 방언으로 기도하는 것입니다. 성경은 말합니다. “방언을 말하는 자는 자기의 덕을 세우고 예언하는 자는 교회의 덕을 세우나니”(고전 14:4) 배터리를 충전하듯이 방언으로 기도할 때 충전되고, 세워지고, 건축되어서 당신의 빛이 빛난다는 의미입니다. 할렐루야!

DIVINE TRANSFIGURATION

And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering (Luke 9:29).

Many times, people pray, “O God, let your glory rest upon me.” But in the New

Testament, that’s a wrong prayer. Many pray that way because they admire what happened with Moses in the Old Testament; the glory of God that came upon Him

and rested on his countenance. But we have something better than that today, because the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of glory, lives in us.

What we have in us is a more excellent glory; a surpassing glory: “For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious” (2 Corinthians 3:10-11). Read our theme verse again; it says, “And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.” It shows what happened to Jesus as He prayed at the Mount of transfiguration: He was transfigured; there was so much glory radiating from Him that His appearance was altered. But that glory and power was from within.

The same thing happens when we pray. There’re two things that we do that get us transfigured and have the glory literally resplendent on our countenance. The more you do them, the more of that transfiguration you’d experience. The first is praying in tongues. The Bible says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself…” (1 Corinthians 14:4); you’re charged, edified and built up, like you build the power of a battery, which means your light glows. Hallelujah!

Jude 1:20 says, “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.” This must be the type of prayer that Jesus prayed, that in the spirit, they could see a transfiguration. Secondly, every time you pray the Word, it happens to you too. Yes, you’re transfigured from glory to glory.

The more accurately the Word of God comes through your spirit in prayer, the more you glow in the spirit. This will help you understand why you should pray all the time. When you pray, you’re transfigured, and the more you stay in that glory, the more you carry its effect along with you. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for your Word that has come to my spirit today; as I speak in tongues even now, I’m transformed in every area of my life, from glory to glory, and the light of your Word shines forth brightly in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

오늘의 본문 구절은 우리에게 하나님의 백성으로서 자신을 구별하고 탁월한 삶을 살도록 강하게 권면합니다. 세상 사람들처럼 살지 마십시오. 그리스도를 따르십시오.

어떤 사람들은 자연적 부모로부터 속박과 어둠을 물려 받습니다. 그들은 자연적 부모처럼 분노의 삶의 방향으로 살게 될 것입니다. 만일 당신이 거듭났다면, 다시는 그런 삶을 허락하지 마십시오. 스스로에게 “나는 그리스도 안에서 새로운 피조물이다. 분노는 내 안에 머무를 수 없다.”고 말하십시오.

그들은 예수님의 말씀을 믿지 않았지만, 결국 그들의 조상들이 했던 일을 똑같이 행했습니다. 그러나 하나님께 감사드립니다! 하나님의 말씀을 통해 우리의 생각은 그리스도와 같은 방향으로 갈 수 있도록 변화될 수 있습니다. 오직 올바른 방향으로만 갑니다.

말씀에 집중하십시오. 이제 당신은 거듭났기 때문에 당신에게는 자신의 삶이 말씀에서 말하는 바와 같도록 해야 할 책임이 있습니다. 말씀이 당신의 마음과 영과 생각과 의견을 다스리게 하십시오.

DON’T GO IN THEIR DIRECTION

Our opening verse is a strong admonition for us to distinguish ourselves as God’s people and live an excellent life. Don’t live like the rest of the world; follow Christ.

There’re people who inherit bondage and darkness; they’re going to go in the same direction as their natural parents, towing the same line of anger. But if you’re born again, never allow such in your life. Tell yourself, “I’m a new creature in Christ; anger has no place in me.”

If as a Christian, you find that people say you took after your grandfather in certain uncomplimentary behaviours, don’t just shove it aside. Consciously use the Word of God to culture and reprogramme yourself. Remember, in Matthew 23:30, the people said they’d never be like their fathers who did wicked things; but Jesus said to them, “Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city” (Matthew 23:34).

They didn’t believe the words of Jesus, but they did exactly the same thing their fathers did. But thanks be unto God! Through the Word of God, our minds can be transformed to go in the way of Christ; the right direction only.

Stay focused on the Word. You have a responsibility now that you’re born again to make sure your life is as the Word says. Let the Word have dominion over your mind, your spirit, your thoughts, and over your opinions.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the transforming power of your Word. Your Word has gained the ascendancy in my life, and as I meditate therein, I’m transformed into the image of the Christ, living the glorious life of righteousness that you’ve ordained for me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

대단한 잔치가 펼쳐질 것입니다
It’s Going To Be A Great Party

“천사가 내게 말하기를 기록하라 어린 양의 혼인 잔치에 청함을 받은 자들은 복이 있도다 하고 또 내게 말하되 이것은 하나님의 참되신 말씀이라 하기로”(계 19:9)

어떤 사람들은 예수님께서 누가복음 15:10에서 “죄인 한 사람이 회개하면 하나님의 사자들 앞에 기쁨이 되느니라”라고 말씀하신 것 때문에 죄인이 그리스도께로 인도될 때 천국에서 대단한 잔치가 열린다고 말합니다. 성경은 죄인이 그리스도께로 올 때 천국에 잔치가 열린다고 말하지는 않지만, 우리 모두가 참석할 큰 잔치에 대해서는 언급합니다. 이는 어린 양의 혼인 잔치입니다.

우리는 천국에서 열리는 잔치에 갈 것입니다. 이 사실이 마음에 드십니까? 그리고 그 잔치는 최고의 잔치가 될 것입니다. 그러므로 천국이 재미없는 장소일 것이라고 생각하는 사람들은 잘못 생각하고 있는 것입니다. 그들은 바르게 생각하고 있지 않습니다. 성경을 읽어보십시오! 하나님 아버지는 큰 잔치를 준비하시며, 우리는 그 대규모 축하행사에 전 세대 모두가 참석할 것입니다! 우리는 천국에 숨을 헐떡이며 도착해서 “하나님 감사합니다, 겨우 성공했어요!”라고 말하지 않을 것입니다. 그렇습니다. 우리는 서로 “기쁨으로 손바닥을 마주치며” 말로 표현할 수 없이 즐거워하면서, 아버지와 신성한 천사들에게 축하 받을 것입니다!

이것이 우리가 전 세계에 하나님의 말씀을 전하고 가르쳐야 하는 이유입니다. 하나님의 임재 안의 이 위대한 잔치, 곧 찬양과 경배와 사랑의 잔치를 위해 우리가 가서 초대해야 하는 사람들이 더 많이 있습니다. 요한계시록 19:6을 통해 요한의 예언적 말씀을 읽으십시오. “또 내가 들으니 허다한 무리의 음성과도 같고 많은 물 소리와도 같고 큰 우렛소리와도 같은 소리로 이르되 할렐루야 주 우리 하나님 곧 전능하신 이가 통치하시도다”(계 19:6)

당신은 잔치를 준비하고 있습니까? 우리가 하는 일과 사랑의 수고는 헛되지 않습니다. 당신이 주님을 위해 어떤 일을 하고 있든지 그 일을 끈기 있게 하십시오. 당신의 일생을 그 일에 바치십시오. 그로 인해 우리는 상을 받고 우리의 머리에는 관이 씌워질 것이기 때문입니다. 복음을 위해 당신이 한 모든 일과 헌신은 기록되고 있으며, 그 날에 당신이 이 땅에서 받고 누린 모든 축복들에 더하여 그분께서 당신에게 “잘하였도다 착하고 충성된 종아”라고 말씀하실 것입니다(마 25:21).

사랑하는 주님, 복음의 청지기가 되고 화해의 사역에 참여할 수 있는 특권을 주셔서 감사합니다. 내가 하는 일과 사랑의 수고가 헛되지 않음을 보장해 주시니 감사합니다. 영원한 영광의 왕이신 그리스도가 속히 다시 오시기를 간절히 바라면서, 복음에 대한 나의 헌신과 전 세계의 복음 전파는 조금도 수그러지지 않고 지속됩니다. 할렐루야!

IT’S GOING TO BE A GREAT PARTY

And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God (Revelation 19:9).

Often, when a sinner is led to Christ, some say there’s a great party in heaven, because of what Jesus said in Luke 15:10: “…there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.” Even though the Bible doesn’t quite say there’s a party in heaven when a sinner comes to Christ, it does talk about a great party in heaven that we’re all going to be a part of; it’s the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.

We’re going for a party in heaven. Don’t you like that? And it’s going to be the party of all parties! So, all those who think heaven will be a boring place are misguided; they’re not thinking right. Read the Bible! Papa God is organising a big party and we’re coming from every generation for the massive celebration. We’re not going to heaven, panting and saying, “Thank God; we barely made it!” No; we’re going to be “highfiving” ourselves, excited in ways words can’t describe as we’re celebrated by the Father and the holy angels.

It’s the reason we’re preaching and teaching God’s Word all around the world, so many more can be reached and brought in for this great jamboree in God’s presence; a shindig of praise, worship and adoration. Read it in the prophetic words of John in Revelation 19:6: “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.” Glory to God!

Are you getting ready for the party? Our work and labour of love aren’t in vain; whatever you’re doing for the Lord, keep at it. Put your whole life into it, because we’re going to be rewarded and crowned. Everything you do or sacrifice for the sake of the Gospel is being recorded, and on that day, besides the blessings you’ve received and enjoyed on earth, He’ll say to you, “…Well done, thou good and faithful servant…” (Matthew 25:21).

PRAYER
Dear Lord, thank you for the privilege to be a custodian of the Gospel and to participate in the ministry of reconciliation. Thank you for the reassurance that my work and labour of love aren’t in vain. My commitment to the Gospel and its spread around the world remain unabated, as I earnestly look forward to the soon return of Christ, the eternal King of glory. Hallelujah!

The Kingdom Culture

“너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하도록 하라”(롬 12:2)

많은 사람들의 신앙생활이 효과적이지 않은 이유는 그들이 하나님의 말씀과 다른 사고방식을 가지고 있기 때문입니다. 하나님의 말씀은 우리의 성품을 형성하고 삶을 윤택하게 만들기 위해 우리에게 주어졌습니다.

오늘날 일부 사람들은 성경의 지침들이 얼마나 구식이고 삶과 무관한지에 대한 논쟁을 일으킵니다. 얼마나 끔찍한 생각입니까! 성경은 삶과 밀접하게 관련되어 있으며 앞으로도 항상 그럴 것입니다. 하나님의 말씀은 사람들의 문화를 포함한 모든 것을 초월하기 때문입니다. 말씀은 당신에게 왕국의 문화 곧 왕국의 삶의 방식을 제공합니다. 기독교가 삶의 방식은 아니지만, 분명 그리스도인의 삶의 방식을 만들어 냅니다.

오늘의 본문 구절은 “너희는 이 세대를 본받지 말고 오직 마음을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 하나님의 선하시고 기뻐하시고 온전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 분별하도록 하라”고 말합니다. 이것이 왕국의 의식을 갖게 되는 방법입니다. 하나님의 말씀을 묵상하며 공부한다면, 그 말씀은 누구든지 이 세상과 다른 삶의 방식을 흡수하도록 도와줍니다. 이는 그리스도의 의식입니다. 할렐루야!

당신의 생각이 여전히 학계의 이념들로 만들어진다면 당신의 삶은 위태로워질 것입니다. 성경으로 들어가서 말씀을 묵상하며 공부하기 시작하십시오. 성령님이 당신을 인도하시고 지혜와 통찰력을 주시기를 구하십시오. 좋은 격언들을 가르치지만 막상 자신들의 영 안에 말씀이 없는 종교 학자들처럼 창세기부터 요한계시록까지 훑어보라는 말이 아닙니다. 그런 행동은 별 소용이 없을 것입니다.

고린도후서 3:6은 “율법 조문은 죽이는 것이요 영은 살리는 것이니라”고 말합니다. 말씀이 당신의 영에 있다면 그것은 당신 안에서 왕국의 문화를 만들어 낼 것입니다. 왕국의 문화를 따라 살아가는 것은 그리스도인으로서 당신에게 중요합니다. 그렇지 않는다면 당신은 “혼합물”이 되어, 당신이 영광스러운 영적 왕국에서 태어나 하나님의 생명과 본성을 가지고 있을지라도 당신의 사고방식과 삶의 방식은 세상과 같다는 의미입니다.

우리의 왕국은 지금 존재하고 있는 실제 왕국입니다. 이 왕국에는 왕과 지켜야 하는 원칙들이 있습니다. 따라서 이 왕국에는 문화가 있습니다. 성경을 공부하면서 의식적으로 삶의 방식과 하나님의 왕국의 문화를 배우십시오. 할렐루야!

사랑하는 아버지, 나는 이 땅에서 왕국의 삶을 배우고 발전시키고 살기 위해 스스로를 말씀과 성령의 사역에 내어드립니다. 왕국의 삶은 승리, 힘, 다스림, 초자연적인 능력과 은혜의 삶입니다. 나는 세상과 세상의 시스템에 영향 받기를 거절합니다. 오히려 나는 나의 신성한 유업을 의식하고 왕국의 삶을 삽니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

THE KINGDOM CULTURE

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2).

Many aren’t as effective as they should be in their faith-walk with God, because they have a different mindset from the Word of God. The Word of God is given to us to mould and shape our character; to culture our lives.

There’re some today who stir up arguments about how Bible instructions are outdated, and how irrelevant the Scriptures are today. What a terrible way to think! The Bible is, and will always be relevant. That’s because the Word of God transcends everything, including every human culture. The Word gives you the Kingdom culture; the Kingdom lifestyle.

Christianity isn’t a way of life, but surely produces a way of life. It shows you how to build Kingdomconsciousness. God’s Word, studied meditatively, will definitely help anyone imbibe a way of life that’s different from the rest of the world; a Christconsciousness. Hallelujah!

If you’re still moulded by the ideologies of academic professors, your life will be in jeopardy. Get into the Scriptures and begin to study meditatively, asking the Holy Spirit to guide you and grant you insight and understanding. I’m not talking about merely leafing through the pages from Genesis to Revelation just like the religious scholars who only taught maxims, and didn’t have the Word in their spirit. That won’t do you much good.

2 Corinthians 3:6 says, “…the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” When the Word is in your spirit, it would produce in you the Kingdom culture. This is important for you as a Christian, otherwise, you’d be a “hybrid.” By that, I mean even though you’re born into a glorious spiritual kingdom, and have the life and nature of God, your mentality and way of life will be like those of the world.

Our Kingdom is a real Kingdom which exists now. It’s a Kingdom that has a King, and principles to live by. So, there’s a culture in this Kingdom. As you study the Scriptures, you consciously learn the way of life; the culture of the Kingdom of God. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I yield myself to the ministry of the Word and the Spirit to learn, develop and live out the Kingdom life here on earth; a life of victory, strength, dominion, supernatural abilities and grace. I refuse to be influenced by the world and its systems; rather, I’m conscious of my divine heritage, and live the Kingdom life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
