그리스도 – “하나님과 같은 사람”

“예수께서 제자들 앞에서 이 책에 기록되지 아니한 다른 표적도 많이 행하셨으나 오직 이것을 기록함은 너희로 예수께서 하나님의 아들 그리스도이심을 믿게 하려 함이요 또 너희로 믿고 그 이름을 힘입어 생명을 얻게 하려 함이니라” (요 20:30-31)
오늘의 본문 구절을 통해 우리는 성경이 기록된 목적을 알 수 있습니다. 성경은 우리가 예수님이 그리스도이시며 하나님의 아들이심을 믿게 하기 위해 기록되었습니다. 이것은 하나님의 모든 말씀 가운데 우리에게 드러난 가장 놀라운 진리 중 하나입니다. 그렇다면 “예수님이 그리스도이시다”라는 표현은 실제로 무슨 뜻입니까? 그리스도라는 단어는 어떤 의미입니까?
먼저, 그리스도는 그리스어 “크리스토스(Christos)”를 영어로 번역한 것이며, 이는 히브리어 “메시아(Messiah)”를 번역한 단어라는 점을 이해해야 합니다. 그러나 그리스도의 진정한 의미는 “하나님과 같은 사람” 즉, 인간의 육신을 입은 하나님입니다. 그래서 그리스도를 하나님의 아들이라고도 부릅니다.
우리가 예수님이 하나님의 아들이라고 말할 때, 그것은 하나님께서 인간 아버지가 아들을 낳는 것과 같은 방식으로 예수님을 낳으셨다는 뜻이 아닙니다. 예를 들어, 스콧 씨가 스콧 주니어라는 아들을 낳은 것과 같은 방식이 아닙니다. 성경에서 “하나님의 아들”은 인간의 모습으로 오신 하나님을 의미합니다. 그래서 예수님이 자신을 하나님의 아들이라고 선포하셨을 때, 종교 지도자들은 그분을 신성모독으로 고발한 것입니다. 그들은 예수님이 자신을 하나님과 동등하다고 선포했다고 믿었습니다.
마찬가지로 요한복음 10:30-33에서 예수님은 “나와 아버지는 하나이니라”고 말씀하셨고, 이로 인해 유대 지도자들은 돌을 들어 예수님을 치려고 했습니다. 그들은 예수님이 사람으로서 스스로 하나님으로 만들었다고 주장했습니다. 그들은 하나님의 말씀과 예수님이 진정 누구인지에 대한 무지로 인해 예수님의 신성한 정체성과 그분의 주장에 대한 의미를 받아들일 수 없었습니다.
그러나 예수님은 자신을 하나님과 동등하게 여기지 않으셨습니다. 그분은 스스로 하나님이셨고, 인간의 육신을 입은 하나님이셨습니다. 하나님은 당신이 이 지식을 갖기를 원하시며, 당신이 이것을 믿을 때 무슨 일이 일어날지 말씀하십니다. 당신은 예수님의 이름을 통해 생명을 얻을 것입니다. 당신이 얻게 되는 생명은 어떤 생명입니까? 바로 하나님의 생명입니다! 예수 그리스도를 통해 당신은 신성한 본성을 갖게 되었습니다. 이 영생은 당신이 부모로부터 태어났을 때 가지고 있던 인간 생명을 대체합니다. 이제 당신은 하나님과 같은 종류의 존재, 곧 하나님과 같은 인간입니다. 주님이 그러하심과 같이 당신도 이 세상에서 그러하기 때문입니다(요일 4:17). 하나님께 영광 드립니다!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 예수 그리스도를 통한 영생의 축복에 감사드립니다. 나는 예수님이 그리스도이시며, 하나님의 아들이심을 믿습니다. 그분을 통해 나는 하나님과 같은 생명을 가지고 살고 있습니다. 나는 그분 안에서 승리하고, 온전하고, 보호받습니다. 내 삶은 신성의 유기적이고 실존적인 특성의 나타남입니다. 나는 하나님의 영광, 지혜, 의, 은혜를 나타냅니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

CHRIST—“THE GOD-MAN”
“And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” (John 20:30-31).
From our theme scripture, we see the purpose for which the Holy Scriptures were written: it’s so we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. This is one of the most amazing truths revealed to us in the entire Word of God. But then, what does the expression, “Jesus is the Christ,” really mean? What’s the meaning of Christ?
First, understand that Christ is the English translation of the Greek word “Christos,” which is itself the translation of the Hebrew word “Messiah.” But beyond that, the real meaning of Christ is “the God-man,” that is, God in human flesh. It’s the reason Christ is also called the Son of God.
When we say Jesus is the Son of God, it doesn’t mean God gave birth to Jesus in the same way human fathers give birth to sons; like Mr. Scott giving birth to a son, called Scott Jr. No! “Son of God” in Scripture means God in human form. That’s why when Jesus declared that He was the Son of God, the religious leaders accused Him of blasphemy. They believed that Jesus declared Himself to be equal with God.
Similarly, in John 10:30-33, Jesus stated, “I and my Father are one,” which prompted the Jewish leaders to pick up stones to stone Him. They argued that He, being a man, made Himself God. Due to their ignorance of God’s Word and of who Jesus really is, they couldn’t accept His divine identity and the implications of His claims.
But Jesus wasn’t making Himself equal with God; He is Himself God—God in human flesh. This is the knowledge that God wants you to have, and He tells us what will happen when you believe this: you’ll have life through his name. What life? The God-life! Through Jesus Christ, you have the divine nature; this eternal life supplants the human life with which you were born of your parents. You’re now an associate of the God-kind—a God-man—for as He (Jesus) is, so are you in this world (1 John 4:17). Glory to God!
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the blessing of eternal life through Jesus Christ. I believe He is the Christ, the Son of God, through whom I have and live the God-life. I’m victorious, complete, and preserved in Him. My life is a manifestation of the organic and existential attributes of deity, and I manifest your glory, wisdom, righteousness and grace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
