“곧 살아 있는 자라 내가 전에 죽었었노라 볼지어다 이제 세세토록 살아 있어 사망과 음부의 열쇠를 가졌노니”(계 1:18)

우리가 이전에 공부한 내용 중 매우 중요한 내용은 예수님께서 십자가에 계실 때가 아닌 지옥에서 사탄을 물리치셨다는 것입니다. 십자가에 못 박히신 사건은 전체적인 과정이었습니다. 따라서 성경이 정확한 십자가 사건 혹은 그리스도의 체포, 죽음, 장사됨의 전체 과정을 언급하거나 묘사할 때를 이해해야 합니다. 십자가에서의 그분의 승리는 아담이 하나님께 불순종한 것과 달리 죽기까지 순종하며 자신을 내어드리는 것이었습니다. “한 사람이 순종하지 아니함으로 많은 사람이 죄인 된 것 같이 한 사람이 순종하심으로 많은 사람이 의인이 되리라”(롬 5:19)
아담은 하나님의 뜻에 순종하지 않았지만, 예수님은 순종하셨습니다. 그래서 성경은 “이러므로 하나님이 그를 지극히 높여 모든 이름 위에 뛰어난 이름을 주사”(빌 2:9)라고 말합니다. 예수님은 죽기까지, 곧 십자가에서 죽기까지 순종하셨기 때문입니다. 그러나 앞서 말했듯이, 예수님께서 사탄을 물리치신 곳은 십자가가 아니었습니다. 만일 예수님께서 십자가에서 사탄을 물리치셨다면, 지옥에 내려가실 필요가 없었을 것입니다.
그러나 예수님은 지옥에서 사탄을 만나 그를 물리치시고 그에게서 지옥과 사망의 열쇠를 가져오셨습니다. 이것이 사탄에 대해 무엇을 말해줍니까? 사탄은 누구도 죽일 권세가 없습니다. 만약 그렇다면, 사탄은 모든 사람을 죽였을 것입니다. 예수님은 사탄을 무력화시키시고 우리에게 그를 다스리는 권세를 주셨습니다. 예수님은 사망의 권세를 가진 자, 즉 마귀를 좌절시키셨습니다. “자녀들은 혈과 육에 속하였으매 그도 또한 한 모양으로 혈과 육에 함께 속하심은 사망으로 말미암아 사망의 세력을 잡은 자 곧 마귀를 멸하시며 또 죽기를 무서워하므로 한평생 메여 종 노릇 하는 모든 자들을 놓아주려 하심이니”(히 2:14-15)

JESUS HAS THE KEYS OF HELL AND DEATH

“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death” (Revelations 1:8).

One of the very important points we referenced in our previous study is that Jesus defeated Satan in hell, not when He was on the Cross. The whole subject of crucifixion was an entire process. So you have to understand when the Scriptures refer to or describe the exact act of crucifixion or the whole process of Christ’s arrest, death and burial. His victory on the Cross was yielding Himself in obedience, even unto death, whereas Adam disobeyed God: “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous” (Romans 5:19).
Adam didn’t yield himself in obedience to God’s will, but Jesus did. That’s why the Bible says, “Wherefore also God has highly exalted Him and given Him a name that is above every name…,” (Philippians 2:9), because He was obedient unto death—the death on the Cross. But as earlier stated, that wasn’t where He defeated Satan. If He had defeated Satan on the Cross, there wouldn’t have been need for Him to descend to hell.
But in hell, He met Satan, defeated him, and collected from him the keys of hell and death. What does this tell you about Satan? He has no power to kill anyone; otherwise, he would have killed everyone. Jesus paralyzed him and gave us dominion over him. He frustrated the one that had the power of death, that is, the devil: “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews 2:14-15).
Don’t be afraid of the devil. If he shows up in your room, and says, “I’m going to kill you”; jeer at him and say, “Nonsense.” You don’t need to argue with him. He’s a weak and defeated enemy. Glory to God! Understand that when Jesus died, you died in Him, for you were in Him. When He was buried, you were also buried, being in Him. When He went to hell, you were in Him. Therefore, when He defeated Satan and the demons of darkness in hell, you were in Him. That means you defeated Satan and his cohorts in hell. It’s a present-day fact. Blessed be God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the victory I have in Christ Jesus in whom I’ve conquered death, hell, and the grave. I live triumphantly over the elements of this world because of the authority and dominion Christ has given me over the forces of darkness. Thank you for this glorious reality, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“통치자들과 권세들을 무력화하여 드러내어 구경거리로 삼으시고 십자가로 그들을 이기셨느니라”(골 2:15)

그리스도의 십자가와 지옥에서의 승리는 그분 자신을 위한 것이 아닌 우리를 위한 것이었습니다. 그분이 십자가에 못 박히셨을 때, 그분은 우리의 자리를 대신하셨습니다. 이는 그분이 십자가에 못 박히셨을 때, 당신도 십자가에 못 박혔다는 것을 의미합니다. 그분이 죽으셨을 때, 당신도 죽었습니다. 사람들이 그분의 몸을 십자가에서 내려 무덤에 묻었을 때, 당신도 무덤에 묻혔습니다.

HIS VICTORY OVER SATAN IN HELL

“And the hostile princes and rulers He shook off from Himself, and boldly displayed them as His conquests, when by the Cross He triumphed over them” (Colossians 2:15).

Christ’s victory on the Cross and in Hell wasn’t for Himself; it was for us. When He was crucified on the Cross, He took our place on that Cross. That means when He was crucified, you were crucified. When He died, you died. When they took His body off of the Cross and buried Him in the grave, you were buried in the grave.
Then the Bible says He went to hell; He was taken to hell because every sinner who died was taken to hell. So when Jesus died, He went to hell as a prisoner because He had taken our place of sin. The Bible says He was made sin, who knew no sin: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Therefore, on account of our sins, Jesus went to hell and consummated His victory over sin, Satan, and the demons of darkness in hell. He defeated them in their domain. Recall what the Bible says in Ephesians 4:9, “Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?” It wasn’t possible for anyone who went to hell to come out of hell; but not Jesus. In hell, Satan and all the demons of darkness converged on Jesus; they grappled with Him, and it was in hell that Jesus defeated Satan.
Everyone in hell had to submit and bow to Satan, but Satan couldn’t get Jesus to bow. The Bible pictures how the demons mounted on Jesus and tried to force Him to bow to Satan. But Jesus threw off from Himself powers; He threw off principalities: He disarmed the powers and authorities of darkness and made a public spectacle of them (Colossians 2:15). He triumphed over them in that great combat in hell.
All the demons of darkness saw Jesus defeat Satan and collect the keys of hell and death from him. We’ll learn more in our next study. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the victory that Christ wrought for me over Satan and the forces of darkness. His triumph over sin, death and hell is my triumph! I walk in the light of this victory ruling over circumstances, principalities, and powers of darkness. I live in the dominion and righteousness of Christ. I’m more than a conqueror. Hallelujah!

우리가 방금 읽은 내용은 성경이 왜 우리에게 항상 기뻐하라고(살전 5:16) 권면하고 아무것도 염려하지 말라고(빌 4:6) 말하는지 더 잘 이해하도록 도와줍니다. 어떤 일도 당신에게 불리하지 않습니다. 우리는 역경 가운데 승리합니다. 이 사실을 모르는 사람들은 하나님께서 해결해 주시기를 바라는 모든 문제를 적으며 시간을 보냅니다. 그들은 문제에 너무 사로잡혀 하나님의 말씀에 있는 단순하지만 심오한 지시를 잊어버립니다.

하나님께서는 당신에게 짐을 지거나 걱정하라고 말씀하지 않으셨습니다. 오히려 “아무것도 염려하지 말고 다만 모든 일에 기도와 간구로 너희 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰라”(빌 4:6)고 말씀하십니다. “나는 작은 일에 대해서는 걱정하지 않겠지만, 반드시 걱정해야 할 심각한 문제들이 있다”고 생각하기 쉽습니다. 아닙니다! 말씀은 어떤 일에 대해서도 염려하지 말라고 말합니다.
상황이 가장 심각해 보일 때 웃어야 합니다! 문제가 생길 수 있지만, 그 문제가 당신을 괴롭힐 필요는 없습니다. 당신이 할 일은 말씀 안에 사는 것입니다. 성경이 말하는 대로 말씀을 주야로 묵상하십시오(수 1:8). 하나님의 말씀은 당신의 영을 세우고, 목적과 방향, 동기 부여, 계시를 줍니다. 말씀은 당신의 영을 강건하게 하고, 역경 가운데서도 확신, 평안, 기쁨을 갖도록 당신의 성품을 형성합니다. 하나님께 영광 드립니다!

UNRUFFLED BY CHALLENGES

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:35-37).

What we just read should help you further understand why the Bible admonishes us to rejoice evermore (1 Thessalonians 5:16) and be anxious for nothing (Philippians 4:6). Nothing is to your disadvantage; we win in the midst of adversities. Those who don’t know this spend their time writing down all the problems they want God to fix for them. They’re so consumed by their troubles that they forget the simple, yet profound instruction God has given us in His Word.
He said in 1 Thessalonians 5:16, “Be happy [in your faith] and rejoice and be glad-hearted continually (always)” (AMPC). Practice this. Make every day a day of joy. He didn’t say rejoice only when things are perfect. No; He said, “Rejoice evermore.” There’re always things trying to steal your joy: bad news, disappointments or challenges that seem overwhelming. But you must refuse to be troubled or overwhelmed; do what the Word says: cast your cares upon the Lord for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
He didn’t ask you to carry your burdens or be anxious about them. Rather, He says, “Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6). It’s easy to think, “I won’t worry about the little things, but there’re some serious issues I must be anxious about.” No! The Word says to refuse anxiety about anything.
When the situation seems most serious, that’s when you should laugh! Troubles may come, but they don’t have to trouble you. Your responsibility is to live in the Word. Meditate on it day and night as the Scripture enjoins (Joshua 1:8). The Word of God builds your spirit and gives you purpose, direction, encouragement, and enlightenment. It strengthens your spirit and shapes your personality to one of confidence, peace, and joy in the midst of adversities. Glory to God!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for your Word that builds me up and strengthens my spirit. I refuse to be anxious about anything, because in Christ I have victory over adversities, and I triumph always. Your peace garrisons my heart and mind, and I rejoice evermore, for the joy of the Lord is my strength. Hallelujah!

몇 년 전, 저는 항상 주님께 감사하고 매일 행복하게 살기로 결단했습니다. 저는 하나님의 말씀을 통해 그 누구도 나를 행복하게 하기 위해 보내지지 않았다는 것을 발견했습니다. 예수님은 이미 나의 기쁨을 위해 필요한 모든 것을 이루셨습니다. 성경은 그분께서 우리에게 “말할 수 없는 영광스러운 즐거움”을 주셨다고 말합니다(벧전 1:8). 그 기쁨은 우리의 영 안에 있습니다.
당신이 구원을 받았을 때, 그 기쁨도 함께 왔습니다. 이사야 12:3은 말합니다. “그러므로 너희가 기쁨으로 구원의 우물들에서 물을 길으리로다” 기쁨은 당신의 영에서 나오고, 행복은 그 열매 중 하나입니다. 당신의 영이 기쁘다면 행복은 자연스럽게 따라옵니다. 행복은 마음의 상태이지만, 기쁨은 훨씬 더 많은 것을 만들어냅니다. 기쁨의 열매에는 웃음, 축하, 춤이 포함됩니다. 심지어 주는 것도 기쁨의 열매 중 하나입니다.
기쁜 사람은 자유롭게 줍니다. 당신이 기쁨으로 가득 찬 순간에 누군가가 당신에게 무언가를 요청할 때, 당신은 거의 항상 “예”라고 대답한다는 것을 본 적이 있습니까? 기쁨으로부터 주는 것이 자연스럽게 흘러나오기 때문에 당신은 “아니오”라고 말하기 어렵습니다. 그리고 보십시오. 당신이 주님의 임재 안에서 기쁨으로 가득 차 있을 때, 주님께서는 당신의 마음의 소원을 들어주십니다. 성경은 말합니다. “또 여호와를 기뻐하라 그가 네 마음의 소원을 네게 이루어 주시리로다”(시 37:4)

그러므로 영 안에서, 하나님의 임재 안에서 항상 기뻐하는 법을 배우십시오. 당신이 그분 앞에서 진정으로 경배하고 기쁨을 표현할 때, 그것은 상상할 수 없는 축복을 가져오고 당신 안팎에 기적을 위한 신성한 분위기를 열어줍니다.

JOY RELEASES BLESSINGS

“Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation” (Isaiah 12:3).

Years ago, I made a decision to always be grateful to the Lord and live happy every day. I discovered from the Word of God that no one was sent to make me happy. Jesus already accomplished everything necessary for my joy. The Bible says He gave us “Joy unspeakable and full of glory” (1 Peter 1:8). That joy is in our spirits.
When you received salvation, it came with this joy, and Isaiah 12:3 tells us “with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” Joy comes from your spirit, and happiness is one of its fruits. If you’re joyful in your spirit, happiness naturally follows. Happiness is a state of mind, but joy produces so much more. The fruits of joy include laughter, celebration, and dancing. Even giving is one of the fruits of joy.
Joyful people give freely. Have you observed that when someone asks you for something at a moment when you’re full of joy, it’s almost always a “yes.” You can hardly say no because giving flows naturally from joy. And guess what? When you’re full of joy in the presence of the Lord, He grants the desires of your heart as the Bible says, “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart” (Psalm 37:4).
Your joy releases blessings. When your heart is filled with joy and delight for the things of God, your desires are fulfilled. It’s one of the reasons your personal praise and worship to the Lord is so important. Those are moments of spiritual ecstasy, where your heart is knit with the Spirit in joyful effusions of gratitude, in celebration of His great glory, goodness and awesome majesty.
So, learn to rejoice evermore in the spirit, in the presence of God. When you truly worship and express your joy before Him, it brings unimaginable blessings and unlocks in and around you a divine atmosphere for the miraculous.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I rejoice, knowing that as I delight in you, every desire of my heart is granted. I am full of joy, serving you in Spirit and in truth, basking in the fullness of the blessings of the Gospel, walking in prosperity, health and victory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

예수 그리스도의 희생은 참으로 심오한 신비였습니다. 사탄은 창조된 존재로서 모든 것을 알지 못하므로 그리스도의 구속 사역의 의미를 온전히 알 수 없었습니다. 고린도전서 2:7-8은 이 진리를 계시합니다. “오직 은밀한 가운데 있는 하나님의 지혜를 말하는 것이니 곧 감추어졌던 것인데 하나님이 우리 영광을 위하여 만세 전에 미리 정하신 것이라 이 지혜는 이 세대의 통치자들이 한 사람도 알지 못하였나니 만일 알았다면 영광의 주를 십자가에 못 박지 아니하였으리라”
여기서 “이 세대의 통치자들”은 그리스도의 희생의 궁극적인 목적을 알지 못했습니다. 그들이 이 신비의 깊이와 능력을 이해했다면 예수님을 십자가에 못 박지 않았을 것입니다. 요한복음 12:31에서 예수님은 사탄을 “이 세상 임금”이라고 부르시는데, 이는 위 구절들에서 어둠의 세력들에 대한 설명과 일치합니다.

우리가 하나님의 지혜와 신비를 알고 이해함에 하나님께 감사드립니다. 하나님의 지혜와 신비는 우리에게 숨겨져 있지 않습니다. 성경은 그리스도께서 우리에게 하나님으로부터 난 지혜가 되셨다고 말합니다(고전 1:30). 그리고 우리는 그리스도의 마음을 가지고 있습니다(고전 2:16).

GOD’S HIDDEN WISDOM

“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory” (1 Corinthians 2:7-8).

The sacrifice of Jesus Christ was indeed a profound mystery. Satan, being a created being and not omniscient, couldn’t have known the full significance of Christ’s redemptive work. The Bible reveals this truth in 1 Corinthians 2:7-8, “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”
Here, “the princes of this world” were unaware of the ultimate purpose of Christ’s sacrifice. If they had understood the depth and power of this mystery, they wouldn’t have crucified Jesus. In John 12:31, Jesus refers to Satan as the “prince of this world,” which aligns with the description of these world powers of darkness in the above verses.
The ignorance of Satan and his principalities regarding the divine plan is a testament to the hidden wisdom of God. They didn’t know that the crucifixion of Jesus would lead to the salvation of mankind. 1 Corinthians 2:9-11 further elaborates: “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.”
Thanks be unto God that we know and understand the wisdom and mysteries of God; they’re not hidden to us. Christ, the Bible says, has been made unto us wisdom from God (1 Corinthians 1:30), and we have the mind of Christ (2 Corinthians 2:16).

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the wisdom hidden in your eternal plan and revealed to us through the Holy Spirit. I am grateful that Satan has no power over my thoughts and no access to the plans you have prepared for me. Thank you for the victory you’ve given me in Jesus Christ. I walk in the confidence of this knowledge, that I am secure in you, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

CUT DOWN THE WORKS OF DARKNESS

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17).

In John 8, the Lord Jesus addressed the inability of the Jewish religious leaders to understand His message; He said, “Ye cannot hear my word because ye cannot understand my speech” (John 8:43). To them, His words were mere speeches—sermons that didn’t penetrate their hearts. But to others, it was the living and active Word of the Spirit.
God’s active Word in your spirit, released by you effects changes. When you want to change hopeless situations, you speak forth His Word. That’s what Paul calls the sword of the Spirit in the opening verse—the spoken, active Word. The “word” is translated from the Greek “Rhema.” It’s also translated “word” in Hebrews 4:12: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword….”
However, the Word, even though sharper than any two-edged sword, is in its sheath until you speak it. When you utter it, it becomes the sharp cutting edge that demolishes the works of darkness. In Revelation 1:16, the apostle John, referring to Jesus, said, “…out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword.” This doesn’t mean a literal sword was protruding from His mouth, but that His words were a sharp weapon, as they proceeded from His mouth.
The Greek word “stoma” is used for “mouth,” and it refers to the front or edge of a weapon. Your mouth is the front or edge of a weapon. When the Word of God comes out of your mouth, you’re cutting down cancer, you’re cutting down growths, diseases, and poverty; you’re discomfiting Satan and the works of darkness. Your mouth is a sword, use it to cut down the works of the enemy in your city, nation and nations of the world.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the power of your Word in my mouth. As I utter your Word, situations align with the realities of the glorious life that you’ve ordained for me in Christ. Through my words, I bring healing and health, deliverance, victory, and success to my world, in Jesus Name. Amen.

YOU’RE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR SPIRITUAL GROWTH

“Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood” (Acts 20:28).

If you’re a leader in God’s Kingdom, you must first understand that you’re an overseer, entrusted with the responsibility to take care of God’s children, the souls for whom Christ died. The Bible says, “Tend (nurture, guard, guide, and fold) the flock of God that is [your responsibility], not by coercion or constraint, but willingly…Not domineering [as arrogant, dictatorial, and overbearing persons] over those in your charge, but being examples (patterns and models of Christian living) to the flock (the congregation)” (1 Peter 5:2-3 AMPC).
It doesn’t matter if the people are many or few; the responsibility is the same. Don’t let any one of them backslide! Intercede for them; pray about their needs and the challenges they might be going through. It’s important to have a prayer diary where you write out their names, calling each one by name as you contend for their souls in prayer. Pray passionately that every resistance to their spiritual growth and progress is broken and their desire for the things of the Spirit is fanned aflame and sustained as they grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
You have the privilege and responsibility to stand in the gap for others. You’re the priest over them; you’ve been given the office to minister and pray, and God will hear you. Perhaps you’re a cell leader, a worship leader, church pastor, coordinator, etc., when your members face challenges, go into intercession in their behalf.
As their leader, you’re responsible for their spiritual growth. Help them; teach, and guide them in the things of God. As you teach, train, and share the love of God with them, you’ll see them grow. This will become your joy because, every time you witness the Word of God producing results in their lives, it excites you. And at the end, that’s what you’ll present to God; souls—those whose lives you’ve impacted and helped to transform. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for making me an overseer of your flock. I have the grace to care for each soul under my care, interceding for them with passion and fervency. I declare that they are strengthened, built up in the Word, growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Their desire for the things of the Spirit is aglow and sustained, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Be Faithful With His Investment

“너희가 나를 택한 것이 아니요 내가 너희를 택하여 세웠나니 이는 너희로 가서 열매를 맺게 하고 또 너희 열매가 항상 있게 하여…”(요 15:16)

하나님께서 당신에게 어떤 종류의 섬김의 기회를 주시든지, 어떤 역량으로 주시든지, 당신은 그것을 인식하고 사용해야 합니다. 하나님께서는 낭비하는 투자자가 아니십니다. 그분은 결과를 내지 못하는 곳이나 사람에게 투자하지 않으십니다. 생각해 보십시오. 당신이 투자자라면, 아무런 진전이 없는 프로젝트에 계속 자원을 쏟아붓겠습니까? 당연히 그러지 않을 것입니다!

주님은 요한복음 15:16에서 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “… 너희가 나를 택한 것이 아니요 내가 너희를 택하여 세웠나니 이는 너희로 가서 열매를 맺게 하고 또 너희 열매가 항상 있게 하여…” 얼마나 큰 특권이며 축복입니까! 주 예수님께서 친히 우리를 선택하시고 열매를 맺도록 임명하셨습니다. 그분은 당신이 지속적인 열매를 맺도록 임명하셨습니다. 할렐루야! 이것이 당신의 사명입니다. 당신은 이 목적을 위해 하나님께서 선택하신 당신 세상의 선교사입니다.
당신이 신실한 한, 하나님께서는 당신에게 계속 투자하시고 더 많은 일을 맡기실 것입니다. 바울이 말한 것처럼 말입니다. “나를 능하게 하신 그리스도 예수 우리 주께 내가 감사함은 나를 충성되이 여겨 내게 직분을 맡기심이니”(딤전 1:12) 하나님께서는 당신을 능하게 하시고, 승진시키시고, 그분의 왕국을 위한 열매를 맺을 때까지 그분의 자원을 당신의 삶에 계속 부어주실 것입니다.

BE FAITHFUL WITH HIS INVESTMENT

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…” (John 15:16).

When God gives you an opportunity of service of any kind and at whatever capacity, it’s essential that you recognize and use it. God is not a wasteful investor. He doesn’t invest in a place or person that yields no results. Think about it; if you were an investor, would you continue pouring resources into a project that shows no progress? Of course not!
Now, if man, in his limited human wisdom would be cautious with his investments, how much more would God? Each one of us is an investment of God. He expects us to bear fruits with the resources, gifts, talents, blessings and opportunities He’s entrusted to us. I love the way Paul puts it in 1 Corinthians 4:1; he calls us stewards, and in verse 2 he says, “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” So, are you a faithful steward of God’s investment?
In John 15:1-2, the Lord Jesus said, “…Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” He cuts off the supply to the unfruitful branch; no more testimonies, because the supply isn’t there anymore. God won’t waste His investment. So, let Him trust you.
He said in the 16th verse, “…I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…” (John 15:16). What a privilege; what a blessing! The Lord Jesus Himself has chosen and ordained us to be fruitful. He ordained you to bring forth lasting fruits. Hallelujah! This is your mission. You’re a missionary to your world, chosen by God for this purpose.
As long as you remain faithful, God will continue to invest in you and trust you with more. Just as Paul said, “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry” (1 Timothy 1:12). He will enable you, promote you, and continue to pour His resources into your life as you bear fruits for His Kingdom.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for choosing and ordaining me to bear fruit for your Kingdom. I acknowledge the great investment you have made in my life. By your Spirit, I remain connected to the Vine, producing results in every area of my life. I am forever fruitful, productive, profitable and committed to using every opportunity for your glory, winning souls, and sponsoring the Gospel, in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen.

솔로몬은 자신의 번제의 능력을 깨닫고, 다음번에 주님께 헌물을 드릴 때는 22,000마리의 번제를 드렸습니다. 그러자 하나님께서는 다시 솔로몬에게 말씀하시고 약속을 주셨습니다. 또한 창세기 8장에서 노아의 예시를 생각해 보십시오. 홍수 이후 노아가 가장 먼저 한 일은 제단을 쌓고 모든 정결한 짐승과 새로 번제를 드린 것이었습니다. 성경은 말합니다. “여호와께서 그 향기를 받으시고…”(창 8:21) 그 결과 하나님께서는 다음과 같은 약속을 하셨습니다. “내가 다시는 사람으로 말미암아 땅을 저주하지 아니하리니…”(창 8:21)
노아의 제사는 하늘로 올라가는 향과 같았고, 하나님께서는 노아와 그의 아들들에게 온 땅에 대한 통치권을 주시며 그들을 향한 약속과 축복을 주셨습니다. “하나님이 노아와 그의 아들들에게 복을 주시며 그들에게 이르시되 생육하고 번성하여 땅에 충만하라… 이것들은 너희의 손에 다 맡기었음이니라”(창 9:1-2)
마찬가지로 주 예수님은 우리를 위한 십자가에서의 희생적인 죽음을 통해 약속을 받으셨습니다. 그분의 순종과 대속적 희생에 이어 성경은 말합니다. “이러므로 하나님이 그를 지극히 높여 모든 이름 위에 뛰어난 이름을 주사”(빌 2:9) 예수님은 그분 자신을 내어드리는 일에 순종하셨기 때문에 만물에 대한 통치권을 얻으셨습니다.
성경은 오늘의 본문 구절에서 읽은 것처럼 믿음과 행동을 통해 약속을 받은 다른 사람들에 대해서도 말합니다. 그 구절에서 약속에 해당하는 그리스어는 “에파겔리아(epaggelia)”로, 하나님께서 당신에게 주신 좋은 것에 대한 공표를 받는 것을 의미합니다. 이 원리는 여전히 동일합니다. 당신 역시 희생적인 헌금, 믿음의 능력, 제사의 원리를 통해 하나님께서 당신을 위해 좋은 것을 공표하시게 할 수 있습니다. 하나님께 드리는 것이 중요한 이유 중 하나가 바로 이것입니다. 당신이 기도할 때에 하나님께서는 위의 예시들처럼 당신의 영에 무언가를 말씀하실 것입니다. 할렐루야!

FAITH AND SACRIFICE

“Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions” (Hebrews 11:33).

In 1 Kings 3, we read about Solomon offering one thousand burnt offerings to God. As a result, God appeared to him that night and said, “Ask what I shall give thee.” (1 Kings 3:5). Solomon was only required to offer one burnt offering, but he went above and beyond, offering a thousand. As a result, he received divine attention.
Realizing the power of his offering, the next time he was to offer oblation to the Lord, he made it 22,000 burnt offerings. And once again, God responded by speaking to him and granting him promises. Also consider the example of Noah in Genesis 8. After the Flood, Noah’s first act was to build an altar and offer burnt offerings of every clean beast and bird. The Bible says, “And the LORD smelled a sweet savour” (Genesis 8:21), and as a result, God made a promise: “I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake…” (Genesis 8:21-22).
Noah’s offering was like incense rising to heaven, a sweet-smelling aroma for which God released promises and blessings for Noah and his sons, giving them dominion over all the earth: “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth… into your hand are they delivered” (Genesis 9:1-2).
Similarly, the Lord Jesus obtained promises through His sacrificial death for us on the Cross. Following His obedience and vicarious sacrifice, the Bible says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name” (Philippians 2:9). Jesus obtained dominion over all because He was obedient in offering Himself.
The Bible speaks of others who also obtained promises through their faith and actions as read in our opening scripture. The Greek word for promise in that verse is “epaggelia,” which means to get an announcement of something good that God has given you. This principle remains the same; you too can cause God to announce something good for you through your sacrificial offering, through the power of faith and principle of sacrifice. It’s one of the reasons giving to God is so important. You can be praying and He’ll say something to you in your spirit just as in the examples above. Hallelujah!

PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the power of faith and the principle of sacrifice. I walk in your grace today for answered prayers. My oblations of faith and righteousness rise as a sweet-smelling savour to you, and I walk in the fulfilment of your promises in my life. I live in dominion and walk in the victory of your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

예수 이름을 사용하는 것에 있어서 그 능력은 당신의 재능, 힘, 그 이름을 얼마나 크게 외치는지와는 아무 상관이 없습니다! 마귀들은 선택권이 없습니다. 당신이 예수 이름으로 그들을 내쫓을 때, 그들은 떠나야 한다는 것을 압니다. 오늘의 본문 구절에서 주님께서 우리가 그분의 이름으로 할 수 있다고 말씀하신 일들을 다시 한번 생각해 보십시오. 마귀를 내쫓고, 뱀을 집어 올리고, 치명적인 독에 해를 입지 않고, 병든 사람에게 손을 얹어 그들을 회복시키는 일입니다.

THE POWER IS IN HIS NAME

“…In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover” (Mark 16:17-18).

When it comes to using the Name of Jesus, the power has nothing to do with your own ability, strength or how loud you shout! The demons have no choice; when you cast them out in the Name of Jesus, they know they’ve got to go. Ponder again some of the things listed in our opening scripture that the Lord said we can do in His Name: Cast out devils, take up serpents, unharmed by deadly poison, lay hands on the sick for them to recover.
This is absolutely transcendent. It lets you know the power in the Name of Jesus. His Name is an instrument of terror against devils, sickness, disease and infirmities. Peter understood this; that’s why in Acts 3, when he and John encountered a man who had been lame from birth, he used the Name of Jesus to effect a cure in the man’s impotent feet. When the man reached out for alms, Peter, said, “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
The miracle drew a crowd and Peter took the opportunity to preach Jesus Christ, explaining that it was the Name of Jesus that made the man whole. What this man couldn’t do for years, he did in a moment because of the power in the Name of Jesus. Even now, I say to you in the Name of Jesus, you’re loosed from any infirmity that might have held you bound.
What you haven’t been able to do for years, you can do now in the Name of Jesus! Perhaps you have a child who has been unable to walk since birth, or maybe you’ve been held down by sickness or cancer; that child is healed now! And you’re free of that sickness in the Name of Jesus. Believe and activate these words in your situation, and they shall be so. Amen.
There’s power in that Name. That Name is the greatest name in heaven, in hell, and in the universe! When you call that Name, all of heaven responds, Satan, hell, and all demons tremble and bow to its authority. Call on that Name today with the understanding of its significance and power and you’ll surely have a miracle.

PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the power and authority in the Name of Jesus. In His Name, I walk in victory over sickness, lack, and any form of oppression. I live in triumph, now and always because I recognize the greatness of that Name and use it with revelation. Amen.
