“그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 민족을 제자로 삼아 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 베풀고”(마 28:19)
많은 사람들은 신격의 세 번째 분인 성령님께 이름이 없거나 “성령”이 그분의 이름이라고 생각합니다. 하지만 그렇지 않습니다. 성령님께는 이름이 있습니다. “성령”은 그분의 이름이 아니라 그분의 성품에 대한 설명입니다. “성령”이 그분의 이름이라고 말하는 것은 당신의 이름을 “인간”이라고 말하는 것과 같습니다. 인간은 당신의 개인적인 이름이 아닙니다. 따라서 그분을 “성령”이라고 부르는 것은 그분의 이름을 말하는 것은 아닙니다.
더 명확히 설명드리겠습니다. 아버지께도 이름이 있습니다. “아버지”는 이름이 아니라 호칭입니다. 예를 들어, 당신의 생물학적 아버지의 이름은 “아빠”가 아닙니다. 아빠나 “아버지”는 개인적 정체성이 아닌 지위, 하는 일, 역할만을 설명합니다. 마찬가지로 성령님은 그분의 인격, 역할 또는 지위에 대한 설명을 넘어서는 이름을 가지시며, 그 이름은 예수입니다.
성령님은 예수 이름에 반응하십니다. 이 사실을 이해하는 것이 중요합니다. 성령님께서 무언가를 하시기 원한다면 “성령님, 이것을 혹은 저것을 해주세요.”라고 말하지 마십시오. 그렇게 말하는 것은 의미가 없습니다. 성경 어디에도 우리가 성령님께 무언가를 해달라고 말해야 한다고 말한 곳이 없기 때문입니다. 오히려, 성령님은 예수 이름에 반응하여 움직이시고 일하십니다.
당신이 예수 이름을 부르면 성령님께서 예수님의 임재를 나타내십니다. 예수님은 현재 보좌에 앉아 계시고 승천하신 이후로 계속 그곳에 머물러 계시기 때문입니다. 그러나 예수 이름을 부르면 성령님께서 역사합니다. 아버지도 동일하십니다. 아버지께서는 예수 이름에 반응하십니다. 예수 이름은 신격의 이름입니다.
오늘의 본문 구절을 기억해 보십시오. “그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 민족을 제자로 삼아 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 베풀고” 이 명령을 수행하면서 사도들은 사람들에게 예수 이름으로 침례를 베풀었습니다. 우리도 오늘날 동일한 일을 합니다. 할렐루야! 성경은 예수님에 대해 이렇게 말합니다. “만물이 그에게서 창조되되 하늘과 땅에서 보이는 것들과 보이지 않는 것들과 혹은 왕권들이나 주권들이나 통치자들이나 권세들이나 만물이 다 그로 말미암고 그를 위하여 창조되었고 또한 그가 만물보다 먼저 계시고 만물이 그 안에 함께 섰느니라 그는 몸인 교회의 머리시라 그가 근본이시요 죽은 자들 가운데서 먼저 나신 이시니 이는 친히 만물의 으뜸이 되려 하심이요 아버지께서는 모든 충만으로 예수 안에 거하게 하시고”(골 1:16-19)
오늘 이 진리의 유익을 누리십시오. 당신이 예수 이름을 부를 때, 성령님을 통해 예수님의 임재와 능력이 나타납니다. 할렐루야!

사랑하는 아버지, 예수 이름에 있는 권세에 대한 계시에 감사드립니다. 예수 이름을 부를 때, 성령님의 임재가 내 삶에서 활성화되어 신성한 개입과 기적을 가져옵니다. 나는 매일 승리하며 살아가며, 하늘의 기쁨이신 예수님이 내 안에 거하시고, 그분의 이름을 통해 성령님의 영광과 권세를 경험합니다. 아멘.

THE HOLY SPIRIT HAS A NAME
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19).
Many think that the Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Godhead, doesn’t have a name or that “Holy Spirit” is His Name. But no; He does have a name. “Holy Spirit” is the description of His personality, not His name. To say “Holy Spirit” is His name is like you saying your name is “human being”; that doesn’t reveal your personal name. So, calling Him Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit” doesn’t tell us His name.
Let me clarify this further. The Father also has a name; “Father” is a title, not a name. for example, your biological father’s name isn’t “Daddy”; Daddy or “father” only describes his position, function or role, not his individual identity. Similarly, the Holy Spirit has a name that goes beyond the description of His person, role or position, and that name is Jesus.
The Holy Spirit responds to the name of Jesus. It’s important that you understand this. If you want the Holy Spirit to do something, you don’t say, “Holy Spirit, do this or do that”; it’s useless because there’s no place in the entire Bible where we’re instructed to tell the Holy Spirit to do something. Instead, the Holy Spirit moves and works in response to the Name of Jesus.
When you call upon the Name of Jesus, the Holy Spirit manifests the presence of Jesus. This is because Jesus is currently seated on the throne and has remained there since His ascension; but when you call His name, the Holy Spirit moves into operation. Even the Father; He also responds to the Name of Jesus. The Name of Jesus is the name of the Godhead.
Recall what we read in our opening verse: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” In carrying out this instruction, the Apostles baptised people in the Name of Jesus. We do the same today. Hallelujah! The Bible says of Jesus, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell” (Colossians 1:16-19).
Take advantage of this truth today; when you call upon the Name of Jesus, it’s through the Holy Ghost that the presence and power of Jesus are manifested. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, I thank you for the revelation of the power in the name of Jesus. As I call upon the name of Jesus, the presence of the Holy Ghost is activated in my life, bringing divine intervention and miracles. I live triumphantly every day, knowing that Jesus, the joy of heaven, resides in me and that through His name, I experience the glory and power of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
