“곧 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계시사 세상을 자기와 화목하게 하시며 그들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 아니하시고 화목하게 하는 말씀을 우리에게 부탁하셨느니라”(고후 5:19)
인간 본성은 정죄의 메시지를 좋아합니다. 그 메시지는 불완전함을 인식하기 때문입니다. 예를 들어, 사람들에게 “우리 모두 죄인입니다. 하나님 외에는 그 누구도 의롭지 않습니다.”라고 설교할 때 대부분의 자연스러운 반응은 “맞습니다. 사실입니다.”일 것입니다. 그런 사람들은 당신이 주님의 임박한 재림에 대해 신나게 말하면 불안해합니다. 그들은 자신의 구원에 대한 확신이 없기 때문입니다. 그들은 무기력하고 불확실한 상태에 놓여있습니다.
하지만 오늘의 본문 구절에 나오는 바울의 말을 읽어보십시오. “곧 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계시사 세상을 자기와 화목하게 하시며 그들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 아니하시고 화목하게 하는 말씀을 우리에게 부탁하셨느니라”(고후 5:19) 하나님께서 우리에게 정죄의 직분이 아닌 “화해의 직분”을 맡기셨다는 것을 유의하십시오. 이 직분은 그분의 속량 사역 가운데 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계셨고, 사람들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 않으시며 오히려 그들의 죄를 예수님께 놓으셨다고 증거합니다. 예수님은 온 세상의 죄를 지셨습니다. 예수님께서 죽으셨을 때, 모든 사람은 그분 안에서 죽었습니다. 예수님은 온 세상의 죄에 대한 모든 값을 치르셨습니다. 그러므로 공의의 관점에서 우리 모두 죽었습니다. 바로 이것이 하나님께서 사람들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 않으시는 이유입니다.
따라서 마귀가 당신을 속이고 당신 안에 정죄의 생각을 주려고 할 때, 하나님께서 세상을 자기와 화해시키셨으며, 사람들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 않으시고, 누구든지 믿는 사람은 더 이상 정죄받지 않고 그리스도 안에서 하나님의 의가 되었다고 말하십시오. “하나님이 죄를 알지도 못하신 이를 우리를 대신하여 죄로 삼으신 것은 우리로 하여금 그 안에서 하나님의 의가 되게 하려 하심이라”(고후 5:21)
하나님께서는 우리가 모든 사람에게 이 메시지를 전하기 원하십니다. 예수 그리스도 안에서 의가 가능하게 되었습니다. 하나님께서 그리스도 예수 안에서 인간의 죄에 대한 값을 지불하셨기 때문입니다. 우리가 읽은 오늘의 본문 구절이 이런 뜻입니다. “곧 하나님께서 그리스도 안에 계시사 세상을 자기와 화목하게 하시며 그들의 죄를 그들에게 돌리지 아니하시고 화목하게 하는 말씀을 우리에게 부탁하셨느니라”(고후 5:19)
위 구절에 등장하는 “돌리다”라는 단어를 보십시오. 이는 “책임을 지다”라는 의미의 법률 용어입니다. 하나님께서는 사람들에게 죄에 대한 책임을 지게 하지 않으십니다. 그래서 “좋은 소식”이라고 불리는 것입니다. 당신은 화해의 메시지를 전하는 대사입니다. 당신은 정죄가 아닌 화해의 사역을 감당합니다. 할렐루야!
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 하나님의 화해의 메시지를 전하는 사람이 될 수 있는 특권을 주셔서 감사합니다. 나는 왕국의 대사로서 믿음, 소망, 사랑을 전하며, 죄인들을 어둠의 영역에서 하나님의 아들들의 영광스러운 자유로 옮기는 구원의 말씀을 담대하게 선포합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

MINISTERS OF RECONCILIATION
“To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19).
Human nature loves the message of condemnation because it recognizes its imperfections. For example, when you preach and tell people, “We’re all sinners; no one is righteous, except God”; the natural response from many would be, “Yes; it’s true.” Such folks get jittery when you excitedly talk about the soon return of the Lord, because they’re not sure of their salvation. They’ve been placed in doldrums and incertitude.
But read Paul’s submission in the opening scripture. It says, “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:19). Observe that it says God has committed unto us, “The ministry of reconciliation,” not the ministry of condemnation. This ministry testifies that God was in Christ in His redemptive work, not counting men’s sins against them, rather He laid all their sins on Jesus. Jesus bore the sins of the whole world. When He died, everyone died in Him. He paid the full penalty for sin for the whole world. Therefore, in the mind of justice, we all died. This is the reason God isn’t counting the sins of men against them.
So, when the devil tries to deceive you and stir thoughts of condemnation in you, tell him that God has reconciled the world to Himself, not counting men’s sins against them, and anyone who believes is no longer condemned but made the righteousness of God in Christ: “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
This is the message He wants us to tell everybody; righteousness has been made available in Christ Jesus; because He (God) Himself, paid for man’s sins in Christ Jesus. That’s what we read in our opening scripture: “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”
Notice the term “imputing”; it’s a legal term, meaning “to charge with.” God is not charging people with their trespasses. That’s why it’s called “Good News.” You’re an ambassador of the message of reconciliation; you have the ministry of reconciliation, not condemnation. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for the privilege to be the bearer of your message of reconciliation. As an ambassador of the Kingdom, I spread faith, hope and love, boldly declaring the Word of salvation that catapults sinners from the domain of darkness into the glorious liberty of the sons of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
