Making Disciples
“그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 민족들을 가르치고 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 그들에게 침례를 주며 내가 너희에게 명령한 모든 것을 그들에게 가르쳐 지키게 하라. 보라, 내가 세상의 끝까지 항상 너희와 함께 있으리라, 하시니라. 아멘.”(마 28:19-20, 킹제임스 흠정역)
NIV 번역본은 오늘의 본문 구절을 다음과 같이 번역했습니다. “그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 민족을 제자로 삼아…” 주 예수님은 우리에게 모든 민족을 제자 삼으라고 명령하셨습니다. 제자는 자신의 리더를 따르는 사람입니다.
따라서 누군가가 당신을 “따르기” 거부한다면, 당신은 아직 그 사람을 진정한 제자로 만들지 못한 것입니다. 주님의 비전은 그들이 우리의 제자가 되어 동행하고, 주님께서 하라고 명령하신 일을 행하는 우리의 행동을 본받는 것입니다.
사도 바울은 고린도전서 11:1에서 “내가 그리스도를 본받는 자가 된 것 같이 너희는 나를 본받는 자가 되라.”고 말합니다. 바울은 “내가 너희를 그리스도께로 인도하였으니 나를 따르라”고 하지 않았습니다. 아닙니다! 그는 분명하게 “내가 그리스도를 따르는 것 같이 나를 따르라.”고 말했습니다. 따라서 우리가 그리스도께 영혼을 인도할 때, 우리는 반드시 그들에게 우리가 무엇을 하는지 가르쳐야 하며, 그들이 교회에 가는 습관을 가지도록 도와줘야 합니다.
이제 막 그리스도인이 된 사람들에게 교회 모임은 필수라는 것을 알려주십시오(눅 4:16). 그들이 예배에는 참석하지 않고 교회의 특별 프로그램에만 참석하는 것에 만족하지 마십시오. 그들은 반드시 제자가 되어야 합니다. 그러기 위해서 우리는 그들에게 본을 보여줘야 합니다.
기도
사랑하는 아버지, 성령의 일에 대한 열정이 사라진 전세계 많은 사람들을 위해 기도합니다. 그들의 열정이 다시 불타오르고, 성령과 교제하고 말씀을 공부하는 개인적인 시간을 갖도록 기도합니다. 그리하여 우리 교회가 하나님의 아들을 믿는 일과 아는 일에 하나가 되어 온전한 사람이 되고, 그리스도의 장성한 분량의 충만한데까지 이르러 교회의 연합, 안정, 성장이 있도록 기도합니다. 예수 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

MAKING DISCIPLES
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world”(Matthew 28:19-20).
The opening text from the New International Version says, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations….” The Lord Jesus commanded us to make disciples of all nations. A disciple is someone who follows their leader.
So, if someone refuses to “follow” you, then you’re yet to truly make that one a disciple. The Master’s vision is for them to become our disciples, accompanying us and emulating our actions in doing the things the Lord asked us to do.
In 1 Corinthians 11:1, the Apostle Paul said, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” Notice that he didn’t say, “I’ve led you to Christ, so follow Him.” No! He explicitly stated, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” Therefore, when we lead souls to Christ, we must teach them to do what we do, and help them cultivate the habit of going to church.
Let them know that church gatherings are mandatory for us as Christians (Luke 4:16). Don’t be satisfied if they only attend special church programs and neglect the actual church services. They must become disciples, and for that to happen, we must lead by example.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I pray for many around the world whose zeal for the things of the Spirit may have dissipated; that their passion be rekindled, and they take their personal times of fellowship with the Spirit and study of the Word, seriously: that there be unity, stability, and growth as we the Church attain the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
